Yeah don't bother with that reduction formula that he posted, it works but you'll never really truly remember it. I was going to sit out and type out how to do the problem, but rather than deal with all the formatting I'll refer you to a handy Wikipedia Article on the topic. Basically, it's an integration by parts problem that ends with a cyclic integral; the article walks you through how to do it quite easily. As for myself, just going through the motions at this point. My classes are all still fairly easy (Calc 3, Calc-based Physics (Mechanics), Intro to Engineering, and Intro to Logic (a Philosophy class), just adjusting to how much more work there is to keep up on. Oh and I tried out for a production of hairspray today. I don't think it went too well honestly, but there's still a second part tomorrow so I'm going to keep trying anyways. Worse comes to worst I can just play drums in the pit or do lighting or something and still get to meet people. Kind of crazy how much commitment they're asking for. If I get in, rehearsals are 7-11 pm every sunday through friday until the show in mid-November. It shows in how good the Theatre productions are here though, lol.

Went to my first college football game today only to learn that going to a school that's playing really doesn't make it interesting at all to me and that I really miss being involved in marching band...Made me start really considering trying out for drumline again for next year.

University of Michigan? I've just started my freshman year there, doing a computer science major through its college of engineering and it's pretty fantastic haha, good luck to you man :P Speaking of which, if anybody had noticed my disappearance, well that's what I've been up to. God college is so much better than high school. Only problem I've been having is trying to find something to get involved in since a lot of the extracurriculars here are crazy competitive, and as such I haven't really made very many friends here yet but...I know it'll get better with time and me actually joining some clubs. I'm supposed to hear back from this drum group I auditioned for tonight so I'm sort of nervous for that, but if not I'm sure something else will eventually work out so I'm not freaking out about anything.

Classes start tomorrow for me also at my college. We're on semesters and we're out by the end of April. All these things just depend on the college, and I must say I'm going to be digging that 4 month Summer Break. As for myself, I've been going through Welcome Week all week here and it's been pretty great. I've already met some awesome new friends and there's always a ton to do around here, I'm quite loving it. Just have a minor adjustment to try to get made to my schedule today, then I'll see where the rest of the day takes me.

I spent my whole day packing and saying goodbye to the last of my friends. Tomorrow I move in to University of Michigan, excited as hell. As a bonus, apparently my roommate has an awesome tv and sound system he's bringing up too...I feel like he's contributing way more than I am but I don't mind lmao. Just a couple more hours...

Just kind of sinking in that I'm leaving for college in three days and that there's no way I'll be able to see everyone I want to say goodbye to before I leave, even though I've started a couple days ago. Still, it's been a pretty great week to go out on so far. I also somehow got wrapped up in a shitton of high school drama that I really did not want to get involved in this soon before I leave. One of my close friends, who is 18, started hitting on a 15 year old exchange student who's staying at my house, which I find pretty strange. The firend also just got out of a two year long relationship with his ex about 2 weeks ago, who I've been close friends with since before I started talking to him. somehow i'm getting caught up in a lot of shit now and frankly I don't really care what they do, I just don't want him to get thrown in jail or her to get sent home because I know he'll try having sex with her and that is incredibly illegal (age of consent is 16 in my state). I mean, his dick not mine, but it bugs me and I'm not sure what to do. And I've had plans to hang out with the ex today for a while now, and I'm afraid if she comes over she'll do something incredibly [bleep]y to my exchange student. So...guess I'll just have to see how this plays out. But, tonight's going to be my good-bye dinner and the last time I see the vast majority of my friends that are still left for a long time. Just a weird feeling. And I've still barely started packing.

So I ended up hanging out with that girl I met at orientation again today. I was having a bonfire, and she drove out here (about an hour) a bit beforehand. We went out and grabbed dinner, then hung out a little more before people started showing up. Throughout the beginning of the bonfire she was talking to some of the exchange students that were at my house while I was talking to some of my other friends there, but eventually we all went for a walk and I poked her in the sides to start a conversation with her. On the way back we kept getting into these hug-grapple-things, and that continued basically until she had to leave...which granted wasn't much long after she got to my house, but still. Nice having a girl that's starting a lot of this stuff for once. I don't know if I'll end up actually seeing her again before move-in, but that's only 12 days away anyways, so it's pretty likely something can still happen there. Just feeling good right now and not really worrying about anything, lol. But I sort of realized that I really don't have any clue how to go about making any progress past this point, lol; hell, the most I've done was one date and I didn't even end up kissing the chick then. I'm not down about it, I just really don't know what to do from here, lol. Is it just something that will happen if I keep attracting and hanging out with her, or is this a point where I should consciously do...something different?

Personally I thought the new Muse trailer was shit, but they stopped being relevant to me after how much I hated the Resistance. You made the right choice on the fun. album; despite what I said in the OP Some Nights wore off as fast as it grew on me and I can't really listen to anything off of it anymore. Aim and Ignite is one of my favorite albums though. And for Foxy Shazam, if you don't have any of their stuff I'd recommend the self-titled before their new album. Church of Rock and Roll is still good, but anything from the self-titled shits all over it. As for this year so far, there's been some great stuff released, but nothing that's absolutely blown me away yet. So, ended up hanging out with that girl from orientation Friday. Two hours before I headed up there, she told me her friend would be there too. Then I got there, and we played Uno. Uno. I mean we went out to eat after and hung out for a bit more but I guess we had really different ideas about what was going on there. I always seem to have problems communicating my interest to girls, the last couple times I tried the girls had absolutely no clue that I was interested in them when I talked to them about it later, lol.

I have a friend who I do that pretty frequently with, like I'll pick her up 12/12:30ish and we'll just hang out at a closed building or something and talk for like four hours. Even something like that, which might seem like doing nothing during the day, can be a ton of fun at night, just because (for me at least) there's something exciting about being out an that late of an hour. Just a lot more of a...serene time I guess. Point is just go for it, even if you don't quite know what to do yet; I'm sure you can find a way to stay entertained, especially with someone you actually have a thing with :P. If you feel like you absolutely need something concrete to do though, there are always 24 hour restaurants and such if you don't want to just stay at one of your houses. In other news, met a girl at orientation last week who happened to be from a city about an hour away from me where a bunch of my friends live. Anyways, we ended up hanging out a lot of the time during Orientation and I got her number at the end of it. I then found out my friends from that city are having a bonfire friday, and now I'm hanging out with said girl for a while before that. God, I haven't even actually started college and it's already so much easier than high school was.

This is totally true. I third this. My freshman year schedule wasn't too great. I had an early morning class every day (8 am 4 days, 7:30am 1 day), but then I had a break until like, 12pm and then went until 3 (and on thursday i would TA a lab at 2:40pm). Since then, I've tried to get my schedule to where i finish by at least 1pm and keep MWF class-heavy and T TR class-light. Like TTan said, if you get your classes done with during the morning, you have all afternoon to study/hang with friends. Plus, your mentality changes and, even though you might be tired in the morning, once you finish at like, 12 or 1, you'll be glad you took those morning classes, cause when everyone else is going to afternoon classes, you're done! Yeah, I guess that's all true lol. I was hoping my mornings wouldn't have to start THAT early every day though, but it works out because two days out of the week I'm done by 11 and I only have one class a week that starts at 5, everything else is earlier in the afternoon.

Just got back from my University of Michigan orientation today. It was three days long, but if it's any indication of what college will be like then I am stoked as all hell. It was so easy to just walk to people and start conversations, and I was surprised how many friends I could make by just asking them about where they're from or sitting with a group of strangers at meals. It was just a lot of fun., and I'm glad I'll have more friends than just the people I knew from High School once I get there now. It's soooo nice not having to deal with retarded cliquishness like there is in High School, also. Also found out who my roommate was when I got home, and we talked on facebook for about an hour and a half. He seems like a really cool guy, and we have really similar tastes in music and the exact same opinions on a lot of other things. I'm just really happy I didn't get somebody I couldn't really hold a conversation with like my roommate at orientation. My schedule blows though. Because my orientation was so late, I got stuck with 8 am classes 5 days a week. Taking Calc 3, Calc-based Physics (mechanics) with lab, Intro to Aerospace Engineering, and Intro to Engineering Profession. I hear the Aero class is pretty difficult, but I'm just overall really excited for college now and just want to skip the rest of this unfortunately slow summer at this point, lol.

57 really isn't that crazy of a number, Hell yesterday I had 48 with a girl I'm just friends with. Just don't freak out to much about it, lol. Also... I don't know if anyone remembers that last story I had here, about a girl I went on one date with back in like April, got friendzoned, and ended up going to prom with her, but we've still kept talking since then and she's like my best friend now (I got over her romantically completely by like mid June). Well I was talking to her last night, and she told me she still is attracted to me and has been even throughout the time that she friendzoned me, but just didn't want any sort of relationship like that. Da [bleep]. I mean I actually understand what she's saying because I feel the same way about some of my close friends but still... sdiuhfwedsfewads. Still was a nice little ego boost I guess, lol.

Saw the Dark Knight Rises at midnight. Thought it was good, but nothing amazing, and way too long, aka Chris Nolan's gonna Chris Nolan. Going to be overhyped to hell and back though. My band has a show tonight and it's looking like we're getting pretty good draw for once, I'm excited.

Just saw the Amazing Spiderman midnight premier; I think it's better than the original series, maybe better than Avengers, haven't decided yet.

Went to 8 graduation parties yesterday, going to another three today. God I am loving all these free meals.

One of my friends has the same problem, and only wears one contact lens in her bad eye.

One of my best friends is pissed at me and won't tell me why, and I have no idea what I did. Always fun.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this as I dont think it's big enough to warrant it's own thread, but is it safe to run multiple days in a row or should you wait a day in between like when exercising muscle groups? I've been waiting a day in between, but I've noticed that my legs are never sore the next day after a run. Still wanted to check here before I end up hurting myself though.
