  1. Well, today after a couple friends continuously pushing back some plans I decided to just invite basically my whole group to see a movie, Ashley included. She couldn't come because she was drugged up from some wrist surgery earlier that day, but she said she'd come to anything else I had planned for the week and that she had a lot of fun at my bonfire. Guess this is going pretty well after all.
  2. After rereading those, I guess things are actually going pretty well then, even if it wasn't quite intentional... and now I get what I did wrong with the last girl, heh. Thanks!
  3. Eh, probably screwed this up already. My bonfire was today, and about 23 people showed up, including Ashley. But... I don't know. Bleh. I could get her to laugh a lot and I teased her a bit but i still wouldn't say I knew her any better from it. I had to spend some time with all of the subgroups there so I didn't really get as much time with her as I probably could have either. She seemed to enjoy the bonfire though, so I'll keep inviting her to these things but I have a feeling we'll just end up as friends. Which isn't bad, she's cool, its just starting to get sort of frustrating that this keeps happening. Or do I still have a chance with this and I'm just overthinking?
  4. So I've met another girl now. Her name's Ashley and I've sort of known her from band for a year and a half, but I never really talked to her during that time. However, last saturday a bunch of us band people went out to eat after playing at graduation (including her obviously, we have a lot of mutual friends but just never talked before), and I invited all of them to a bonfire at my place afterwards. they all showed up, and it was pretty awesome, I didn't really talk to her too much though there. Now on friday one of my friends had a bonfire at his house, and she was at that one as well. We talked a lot more that time and she seemed pretty interested in anything I talked about (though I'm not saying thats an IOI, sort of hard to read body language when when its dark out and we're sitting across a smoking bonfire XD). After this I realized she's pretty cool and cute, so I might as well try to see if I can get anywhere. When I got home, I messaged her on facebook and told her that I'm having another bonfire at my place monday (which I am) and that she should come. She said that she would definitely come as long as her parents weren't making her stay home and spend time with them. We then exchanged numbers and she said she would text me once she found out whether or not she could come. So that leads me to now, guess I'll see how it goes tomorrow. Sorry if that read disjointedly, I'm really tired and just wanted to make sure I posted this while I still remembered. However, I've been wondering, how important is height for attraction? I'm only about 5'4.5" (about 164 cm if that's easier to comprehend xD), which is short for guys I know, and Ashley is about 5'6"-5'7". Does it actually matter though?

Yeah for people complaining about those license restrictions, in Michigan for your first six months with your license you can't be on the road between 10 pm and 5 am, and you can only have one passenger under 21 years old in your car. >.> Also if you get caught breaking curfew you get another six months added to the restriction and two points on your license.
  7. How? I thought there were only 6 episodes out so far? Don't they air weekly on Sundays? HBO's streaming episode 7 on HBO Go a week early to try to promote it

Today was auditions for my school's drumline. I'm basically positive that I got snare seeing as we watched all the other auditions, I was probably second or third best that tried out for snare, in addition to me being on snare last year and being a section leader. I cant wait for this to start up again... And now to start studying for my math final exam, which is going to completely slaughter my soul tomorrow. Ugh.

Got my Driver's License today :D Now to spend the rest of my night trying to wrap my head around the chain rule for finding derivatives. It probably is pretty easy, but my teacher barely explained it, and the book isn't much better. In addition, I have to start reading the Great Gatsby, as my English final will be an impromptu on it. I haven't met one person who has actually enjoyed this book. Ugh.

This. Today I had my weekly get-together with about 12 friends. It was pretty fun. The girl I was kinda interested in showed up, but after today I'm pretty certain nothing's going to happen on that front, and I'm not really too upset by that for whatever reason, we hadn't really been texting much in a while anyways. meh. Also, I had a really awesome drum practice. Hit a new top clean double bass speed and got a couple fills going a lot faster than I could before too. Oh, and Game of Thrones was awesome, but...yeesh I knew there was going to be nudity but having to watch that with parents tops the first five minutes of clockwork orange with them as one of the most awkward things I've done. Finished the day off by doing a weekend's worth of procrastinated homework...statistics problems on the null hypothesis, a whole AP English take home multiple choice test, a couple sections of outlining for Java, and a Physics assignment on gas laws. nothing too difficult but I'll regret putting it off this much tomorrow morning xD, still I realize its nothing compared to what you university people have to do

I was supposed to jam with this guitarist that I met a while back, but he canceled last minute, so my day's basically consisted of practicing my jazz drumming and playing Link to the Past on my SNES. Later I'm hanging out with one of my friends and we're battling monster rancher monsters XD. Pretty slow day so far though >.<
  13. Alright, so this happened nearly a month ago. For about another week after that we kept having more of those long conversations, about one every other day though I admit I started all but one of them. However, last week while we still did have conversations they didn't last nearly as long, and this week we've only had one short one (though it was cut short by my bad timing of texting her right before she was going to the movies with some friends). She also hasn't been able to come to any more of my get-togethers, though she's given me legitimate excuses, and it seems like it would be sorta weird to ask her to hang out away from those because like I said I've only really met her once. Blah I probably screwed it up by texting her too much but whatever, guess I'll just see how it goes whenever she does end up coming to another one. This post sort of got lost but now Stephanie and Austin aren't talking anymore so i'm guessing she probably won't be coming over anymore either anyways. Fantastic >.>

Today was a bit of a long day, but it was fun. I had a drum competition this afternoon where my percussion quartet played to be judged. We got a 2nd division rating (first is highest), which was a bit disappointing, but at least we made it to the state competition which is a first for me. I got my ACT scores back today and I got a 34, which I'm quite happy with. It's definitely high enough for me to get into the University of Michigan, which is one of my ideal schools, and possibly Brown (their average is a 28-34), though I realize I can't count on getting into an Ivy even with my 4.0 and extracurriculars... Meh. I can dream though xD. I just got back from seeing one of my friends' school's performance of Beauty and the Beast, which was quite awesome...Though of course in my own incredibly biased opinion my school's musical was still better xD
  16. You'll be able to get over her a lot faster if you cut yourself off, though it'll suck at first. The more you keep talking to her, the harder it will be to move on.
  17. but wwhhyyyy? #-o Unless you're her therapist, boyfriend, or you just want to be friends, steer the conversation away from the D&Ms. Except on occasion, but later. It's probably fine, (could be the difference between her chasing you, and you wondering whether she is into you or not) but if you want something to happen I suggest escalating touch (link in my sig) and staying playful for now. I was trying to keep it light at first but she kept steering the conversation that way and was basically volunteering the information so I just went with it, but I'm going to try to do that then, thanks.
  18. Thank you, and I don't normally, sorry, just wanted to say who he was without having to getting too off-topic or having to introduce another name (Kilian). He's like a brother to me, so he's more than just another friend, but he obviously isn't a literal brother. I realized it sounded bad when I typed that but I just wanted to get the point across so I called him what he was. She had already been to two by that point and I had already asked her in person if she had been interested in coming to more, but thank you.
  19. So I'm thinking my luck might be starting to turn around finally. xD A bit of background first - Every weekend I have a sort of get-together at my house, I invite most of my friends and normally about 8-12 people show up to an average one during the school year. Since about December one of my best friends (Austin) has been bringing a girl from another school with him (Stephanie) (they like each other but aren't going out officially yet). At the first one she went to Stephanie seemed pretty cool and she got along with everyone, so she's kept coming since then. The next one she came to, she brought a friend, Kelsi. I talked to her a bit there and got her number so I could invite her to more but I didn't because the only one she really knew was Stephanie and I figured they'd just come together anyways, plus I sort of forgot, lol. At the one last weekend (Sunday), Stephanie asked if she could bring Kelsi again, and I said sure. At first is was much like the other one we'd gone to; we talked sometimes, but I still didn't really know her and I spent more time talking to other people there. Then, we all went on a walk up to a local convienience store (about a half mile away). Half of us started walking off without realizing not everyone was out of the store yet, and when we realized they were behind most of us headed back aside from austin, stephanie, and another friend. As Kelsi was coming back, she said she didn't want to leave the whole group behind. However, once she met up with us she started walking ahead of everyone else. I teased her about that and we were talking the rest of the way back as our own little group between everyone else about a bunch of random stuff (why her name was spelled weird, our neighborhoods, Austin and Stephanie's lack of going official, other miscellanious things) and kept talking basically until everyone left. Later that day, I was talking to one of my friends on facebook and she asked me what was going on between me and Kelsi. Apparently her and about four other people there all had noticed that both of us seemed pretty into each other (I hadn't really considered that by that point - she's cute but I had only known her for a day in essence). I asked my foreign exchange student about it and he said he noticed as well, so it wasn't just my friend exaggerating. Tuesday I decided to text her for a while, and the conversation lasted for about 2.5 hours. It started off pretty light (joking about her school and about how a clock nearly fell on my face that day) but it eventually started to get a bit deep (talking about our pasts, and she was telling me about some of her insecurities, a bit more than I would normally expect from someone I'd only met two days ago) before she had to go to study for a test the next day and sleep. Yesterday I sent out the weekly mass-text about the get-together and she said she'd come if she didn't have anything else going on. I didn't pursue a conversation out of that, wasn't really much to say xD. Which brings me up to now. Obviously I don't know well enough if she's actually interested or if this all just how she is, but I've also only known her since Sunday and I'm not freaking out over her or anything, though I am interested. You guys think I have a shot or did I make some sort of mistake in there that I didn't realize?

Which ones did you like more then? These guys used to be my favorite band, I'd like to give them some benefit of the doubt xD

I've listened to Help is on the Way, Architects, and Make it Stop, and if those are any indication this album seems like it will be just as boring as Appeal to Reason. Savior's the only song I can even listen to off that album any more. And to think that this is the same band that made Revolutions per Minute, Siren Song, and Sufferer and the Witness...
  22. A Concerto normally refers to classical music and is a piece split up into three movements, one of which is normally an extended solo section. They normally feel slightly like three different songs because of the breaks between music, but they are normally still thematically connected. Classical music is incredibly difficult to compose with all of the different instruments being played and transposition into different keys and such, It's natural that it would take a while.
  23. No he isn't, I've talked to the singer though and he says that Johnny Craig is a huge influence. Oh and these guys have a new song out today, called "Direction" streaming here. It isn't really any different than their other material, but its still pretty decent.
  24. Yeah there's absolutely no room in my house for workout equipment aside from dumbells. Also pull-up bars are pretty expensive not counting those other things. I'll look into those other exercises you mentioned though.
  25. Thanks for the advice guys, sorry for taking a while to respond. But anyways, if it seems sort of unclear what my goals are: I won't really have time to do real workouts until at least may after AP tests are done, when i'll have my lisense and I might be able to get a gym membership. Until then though, I'm just trying to fix my diet enough to lose maybe 10-15 pounds by then. Its winter now, so the sidewalks are pretty terrible right now for running. Once it starts warming up again I'll start running, which will help. Thank you for the ideas. Also, I don't drink sports drinks or anything either, just water for the most part. Thing about just doing that though is that yeah, you'll lose weight, but you won't look any more muscular or anything. If his goal is just to lose weight, then yeah, eat less. (multiply body weight in pounds by 14, that is the amount of calories you need to maintain your weight. Eat 500 less calories a day and see how it goes for a couple weeks/months, then readjust if needed) yeah but he said he's not exercising yet. so either way he's not going to be looking any more muscular. cutting carbs will burn away his body fat. I'm not necessarily trying to look muscular yet; I'll start working towards that when I'm at a place with proper equipment and stuff to be able to do most exercises (all I have access to at home are a 10 pound and 25 pound dumbell...). I was thinking I would lose the extra fat, and then start adding muscle. However, if my end goal is to eventually start putting on muscle, would it be better to just maintain my current calorie intake and do the exercises listed here with what I have available rather cut it down 500 calories?
