  1. Ever since barrows came out, I simply loved torag. This also became the first armour of barrows type that I bought. Later I also had other sets except guthan. My set up Verac (great looks, great armour, great prayer bonus, simply love the special.) Torags (simply the best, strongest biggest armour out there!) Karil (life became so much easier when I could easily own Ahrim without prayer) Ahrims (You ever wanted to look like that Sith in Star Wars.. this outfit is just scary and also great magic bonus. To bad the special works only against players and the staff isn't that great) Dharok: Great armour and such, but I just hate the slow and painfull axe. And only the armour is just.. nah not my taste. Just something about it, I do not like. Guthan: Putted on last place as I have never used it. It is probaly above ahrims or karils.
  2. Trust me, every level is worth it. And the great thing, you rank fast! So it looks great on your highscores. Hm, about the times. Well, like stated, it takes a few hours. The experience is around 21k per hour. Which is correct by my findings, as I use about 4k essence per hour. Walking takes about 6000 exp. I do not take in pouches for P2P, as it is rubish that these people will do that. Also there are nature running timings. And FFL timings. Gets a little confusing hehe. A few things I will add based on these tips: -Comparison in time and thus time saved based on air runes. -Advantages and disadvantadges of Air Company World 16 based on time and money most likely. Also, one stated above it is hard to sell for 20ea. I have taken this into consideration by adjusting the calculations for 66+ by a certain amount. There is a large market availeble and most of the time, I am able to sell all my air runes for 20ea. So I stick to it. If you want to sell the air runes for lower prices, you are allowed but should take in account that the cost is greater or the profit fewer.
  3. You might also want to add into the "leveling costs" section, the rough number of air runs the person would need to do themselves to earn the cash to craft that amount. e.g., Lvl 44-55-- This costs 374,910 gp or 188 air runs. Hmm, I'll work on that. But is a good idea, adds just that little bit extra and also to the lay-out. Thank you for that tip. Thanks monk. I'll also do that today or tomorrow. It is true, that F2P has no alternative like FFL/nats, so I'll calculate that to. Edit: I have added both the commas and the calculations till level 99. Goes pretty fast if you have the base calculations. :
  4. The Air Company World 16 Guide -Introduction to the Guide -About Air Company World 16 -The crafter -The runner The bonus runner! -The trade -The numbers -Conclusion to the numbers -The time table -Secret tips! -Final word **-For a quick find: scroll down until you meet the apropriate coloured title. The Guide With the release of runecrafting, there have always been people who find the skill boring. This is an opinion. A fact on the other hand is, that runecrafting can be very profitable, or very expensive. Just depends on how you are doing things. On my way from 1 to 63 runecrafting as it is now. I have used a couple of ways to train runecrafting. A very hard skill to level up some say. I have experienced it not very hard. I found it time consuming. Sometimes money consuming. But in the most cases, I found it profitable. After I became member I found that making nature runes and law runes is a great thing. Even making double cosmics at level 59 is very handy by itself. But that is not all. I also found it a great way to earn money in F2P. At level 44, I could make a little over 60k profit per hour! And I would get experience in one of the tougher skills in Runescape. When I became member, I had a runecrafting level (hold your breath) of level 54! I could make law runes before I became a member. So now you are asking, how long did that take you?! That is insane! Well, just a couple of hours. Why that few? Because I used this marvelous miracle named: Air Company World 16 Air company World 16 Official Forum Post on http://www.runescape.com Quick find code: 37-38-574-41961260 The air company is an unofficial Runescape gathering, where people can train their runecrafting. They do this by crafting air runes. But instead of running their own essence, other players, also called runners, provide the crafter with essence. This allows the crafter to stay at the same place and get ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâinsane̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ amounts of experience per hour. Compare that to regular walking. If you walk your own essence back and forth from the air altar, you only get 5000-6000exp. This makes the Air Company World 16 almost 400% faster! *Insane: 21k per hour average. Experience per hour ratio taken from: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=621870 The crafter The crafter is the one of the two essential parts for this company to work. Crafters are players who craft the essence into air runes. They receive air runes, at the price of cash and new essence for the runners. To be a crafter, you do not require any specific outfit, although the official thread says so. This is done in a few cases, but neglected by most. So just wear a very appealing outfit. The crafter needs the following items: Cash: (the amount of trades you want to do x 2000gp) Noted Essence (bank notes): (the amount of trades you want to do x25 essence) The amount of cash you will need has not have to be a lot. Although it helps. For myself, I found that, to make this effective, you need aproximatly enough for 80 trades. 80 trades with a total value of 230k: --> 160k cash --> 2000 essence Your backpack has 28 spaces, of which 3 are filled up with the above. Do not carry any other items in your backpack. The runner The second and final essential part of this company is the runner. The runner is even more important, as they save the crafter a lot of time walking back and forth. Basically, the runner runs. He runs back and forth between the bank and the air altar. But why run? Well, for each time the runner brings a load of unnoted essence to the crafter, he gets paid. To be a runner, you need no particularly outfit. But I suggest you carry pretty much nothing on you. Keep your weight as low as possible so you can run as much as possible. Your outfit: The runner needs the following items (to start): -25 essence -An Air talisman or tiara Your inventory should look like this when going to the air altar: In your backpack you keep your stack of cash you earned and 25 unnoted essence. When you run back, you also get a stack of noted essence to replace the essence given to the crafter. You can use this stack of essence to get unnoted essence for the next run. The route the runners follow is as follows: The bonus runner! Ok, so you are now a trusty runner for the World 16 Air Company. Time to advance to elite. You are now making a solid 50k an hour. Easily I guess. But you want more. Ofcourse, you are greedy. Just kidding, nothing wrong with wanting more. Requirements: +37 magic Acces to runes for Falador Teleport spell Note: 'they are not required, but they speed up the process, just walk instead of teleporting' But is there a way of doing so? Well, actually there is, but this requires a bit of timing, some law runes, an air/water staff and air/water runes. Yes, you are going to teleport. Because well, you have 37 magic and wish to use it. But that is not the trick. No, you are going to do some merchanting :-X Don't be scared, it sounds worse then it really is. I'll explain to you have you can make over double the money you were earning already. Ok, I have explained to you the route of how one walks. But let us alter that a tiny bit. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll give you a new map for it: If you were wandering, the orange line doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t stop at the bank. Some may recognise it. It is the Magic Emporium in Port Sarim. Just a tiny walk from the Air Altar. In the following picture I shall show you 2 things! 1) How the store looks #-o 2) The inventory and the air staff I am wielding! There is only one alternative, which is to switch the water runes for air runes and the air staff for a water staff. So this is the store. Pretty nice. The little witch inside is called Betty. She is the one you should trade. Now, chaos and death runes are always sold out. So, no you are not going to buy chaos and death runes. Hell, you do not even have the money to buy them. You are going to buy the following item: If you were wondering, Newts (as I like to call them) are used in Herblore. Which is a member̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s skill. We use them to level up Herblore in the early levels, but also in higher levels. Like the crafters, most members are to lazy to walk for themselves. So we let you do it to. And you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll get paid for doing so! Newt Eye̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s sell for anything between 100-250gp ea on the forum. Most likely 150gp ea, but they can sometimes peak. Although they can be a '*' to sell, try having a member friend post for you or sell them for you. Share him some of the profits to thank him :-w To give you a picture of this nice store once traded: If you were wondering who is going to pay for all of those lovely eyes. Well, you can get 25 eyes each round. Charging 3-5gp per eye, this comes down to 75-125gp each round. Before you go to the store, you are getting 2000gp from the nice crafters. And hey, you use up some law runes. What is this all going to cost/earn me. Ok, lets hit the numbers! -So you spend: 100gp (average cost Newt Eyes) 320gp (teleport runes) -You earn: 2000gp (air running) 25 x 150 (Newt Eye earnings) = 3000gp You just earned: 2000gp + 3000gp ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 100gp ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 320gp = 4580gp That is over double you were making before you used this technique, which was originally 2000gp. Now to say how the route goes: 1) Start from bank 2) Walk to air altar 3) Enter altar and trade a crafter 4) Exit Altar and continue to Port Sarim 5) Enter Magic Emperium and trade Betty 6) Teleport to Falador 7) Walk to the bank etc. etc. etc. A note: You are not obligated to using the teleport. But hey, it speeds up the process just a tiny bit. And the extra magic experience isn't bad. The Trade This is where the magic happens. Where runners and runecrafters meet each other. Each trade goes pretty much the same. But for the comfort, I will explain this by hand of a few pictures and text. Each trade will go like this: The crafter puts up: -2000gp -25 noted essence The runner puts up: -25 unnoted essence Trade 1e Always watch the second screen. You want 25 unnoted essence, so do watch. After a while you will easily be able to notice when there is something missing. More important You have large! stacks of money and essence. Make sure you do not put up any other amount. You might just miss click and add a 0 or an extra 2 or 5. The result: Losing a lot of cash or essence. And of course a happy runner, but that doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t matter. But please make sure you put up the right amounts and check the second screen. It should look like this: **Always, for each trade, even outside the Air Company, check the 2nd trade window! The numbers Now it is getting interesting. We all know that when you ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâbuy̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ a skill, it is going to cost you. Well, no surprise, this is going to be expensive to. But please, before you get a heart attack and stop reading this guide, make sure you read the end of it. It might surprise you. I have taken the liberty to calculate the costs of training via the Air Company World 16. For my calculations, I used the following prices and numbers. Essence price: 35 Air runes price: 20 Price per runner: 2000 To calculate how many airs you make per level. (Runecrafting level / 11) + 1 = the amount of air runes per essence Example: for level 39, this gives ÃÆïÃâ ââ¬â¢Ãâà39 / 11 + 1 = 4,545 ÃÆïÃâ ââ¬â¢Ãâà4 air runes per essence Example of calculation Ok, so now the calculation. I will start of with an example so you can understand the way I calculated this. The following example is a level 63 runecrafter who trains at the Air Company World 16. For each essence you receive: Runecrafting level / 11 + 1 air runes. That is for level 63, 63 / 11 + 1 = 6 So each essence gives you 6 air runes 1 essence = 6 air runes 1 essence = 35gp so 6 air runes = 6 x 20gp so ÃÆïÃâ ââ¬â¢Ãâà6 air runes = 120gp 1 essence = 6 air runes ÃÆïÃâ ââ¬â¢Ãâà35gp (essence) = 120gp (air runes) That is a profit of 120 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = 85gp per essence But the lesser part, each runner costs 2000gp 2000/25 essence = 80gp per essence for the runner. Auch! Let us see what that brings us to. The costs -------- The profit 35gp + 80gp ---- 120gp So 120gp ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35gp ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80gp = 5gp profit per essence 8-) The next numbers show how much each essence costs or makes you for the following levels. Levels 1-10: (1x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = -95ea Levels 11-21: (2x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = -75ea Levels 22-32: (3x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = -55ea Levels 33-43: (4x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = -35ea Levels 44-54: (5x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = -15ea Levels 55-65: (6x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = +5ea Levels 66-76: (7x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = +25ea Levels 77-87: (8x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = +45ea Levels 88-98: (9x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35 = +65ea Level 99: (10x20) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 80 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 35= +85ea Now there are 2 mayor points (actually 3) while using the Air Company World 16. First one is level 44 The second one is level 55. The third one would be 54, but you might as well get to 55 then. In the next calculations, we go all the way up to 99. And in the conclusion, I will give the numbers for the above stated goals. Lvl 1-11 = 1,358exp For level 11 you would need 272 essence at a rate of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ95ea. This costs 25,840gp Lvl 11-22 = 5,624 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 1,358 = 4,266exp For level 22 you would need 854 essence at a rate of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ75ea. This costs 64,050gp Lvl 22-33 = 18,247 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 4,266 = 13,981exp For level 33 you would need 2,797 essence at a rate of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ55ea This costs 153,835gp Lvl 33-44 = 55,649 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 13,981 = 41,668exp For level 44 you would need 8,334 essence at a rate of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ35ea This costs 291,690gp Lvl 44-55 = 166,636 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 41,668 = 124,968exp For level 55 you would need 24,994 essence at a rate of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ15ea. This costs 374,910gp Lvl 55-66 = 496,254 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 124,968 = 371,286exp For level 66 you would need 74,258 essence at a rate of +5ea This makes 371,286gp Lvl 66-77 = 1,475,581 - 496,254 = 979,327exp For level 77 you would need 195,866 essence at a rate of +25ea This makes 4,896,650 Lvl 77-88 = 4,385,776 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 1,475,581 = 2,910,195exp For level 88 you would need 582,039 essence at a rate of +45ea This makes 26,191755gp Lvl 88-99 = 13,034,431 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 4,385,776 = 8,648,655exp For level 99 you would need 1,729,731 essence at a rate of +65ea This makes 112,432,520gp Well, especially the last numbers, sound ridiculous. And they are. I'll explain to you why: When going from 66+, you are making an enormous amount of air runes. Such an enormous amount, that you just cannot sell them fast enough. You will make more then you can sell. The logic step to take, is to sell them a bit cheaper. Well, I have done that a little in the next calculations: Lvl 66-77 = 1,475,581 - 496,254 = 979,327exp For level 77 you would need 195,866 essence at a rate of +15ea This makes 117,520gp Lvl 77-88 = 4,385,776 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 1,475,581 = 2,910,195exp For level 88 you would need 582,039 essence at a rate of +25ea This makes 14,550,975gp Lvl 88-99 = 13,034,431 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 4,385,776 = 8,648,655exp For level 99 you would need 1,729,731 essence at a rate of +35ea This makes 60,540,585gp Still enormous amounts right? Well, that is what happens when you train runecrafting.. Conclusion to the numbers For level 44 all the way via Air company world 16: 535,415gp This is 535K At level 44, you can craft nature runes. This gives about a profit of 175k per hour at level 44. You could earn back all the money in: 3 hours and 3.6 minutes aproximatly. Compare that to the time you saved.. For level 55 all the way via Air company world 16: 910,325gp This is 910K At level 55, you can make law runes and make a profit from Air Company World 16. This gives about a profit of 225k per hour at level 55 (making natures) You could earn back all the money in: 4 hours and 2.7 minutes approximately Also you can, from then on, continue via the air company without cost. (Small profit) Compare that to the time you saved to.. =D> The Time Table A few tip.iters advised me to make a certain time table and so I will. The following time table shows: The time for every 11 levels using: A) Normal running: 6000 exp per hour. B) Air Company World 16: 21000 exp per hour. The set up will be like this: -For level X-Y: experience for lvl X-Y / 6000 = Time it takes via method A experience for lvl X-Y / 21000 = Time it takes via method B Time saved: Time via method B - Time via method A = Time saved -For level 1-11: 1358 / 6000 = 0.226 hour 1358 / 21000 = 0.065 hour Time saved: 0.161 hour = 9.6 minutes -For level 11-22: 4266 / 6000 = 0.7111 hour 4266/ 21000 = 0.203 hour Time saved: 0.508 hour = 30.5 minutes -For level 22-33: 13981 / 6000 = 2.330 hour 13981 / 21000 = 0.666 hour Time saved: 1.664 hour = 1 hour 39,9 minutes -For level 33-44: 41668 / 6000 = 6.945 hour 41668 / 21000 = 1.984 hour Time saved: 4.961 hour = 4 hours 57,7 minutes -For level 44-55: 124968 / 6000 = 20.828 hour 124968 / 21000 = 5.951 hour Time saved: 14.877 hour = 14 hour 52,6 minutes -For level 55-66: 371286 / 6000 = 61.881 hours 371286 / 21000 = 17.680 hours Time saved: 44.201 hour = 44 hour 12,1 minutes -For level 66-77: 979327 / 6000 = 163.221 hour 979327 / 21000 = 46.635 hour Time saved: 116.586 hour = 116 hour 35.2 minutes -For level 77-88: 2910195 / 6000 = 485.033 hour 2910195 / 21000 = 138.581 hour Time saved: 346.452 hour = 346 hour 27,1 minutes -For level 88-99: 8648655 / 6000 = 1441.443 hour 8648655 / 21000 = 411.841 hour Time saved: 1029.602 hour = 1029 hour 36,1 minutes Just add up all the numbers for a certain goal. Let's say you are level 44. And you want to get level 77. You would save: 14.877 + 44.201 + 116.586 = 175.664 hours by using the Air Company World 16, instead of walking your own air runes. Secret Tips :-$ Now a few secrets I have gathered during my time at the Air Company: Crafter tips -Wear big, flashy outfits you cannot miss! People always look for crafters and if they simply cannot miss you, you draw more runners towards you. This means, you get trades the moment you crafted your air runes. The more trades, the more experience -From time to time, say the following sentence: [Colour]: Open 2k + ess ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ [name] No flashy, scroll things. Just a fancy colour and that sentence. This will draw a lot of runners towards you. -High combat. Although you cannot influence this to much. But high levels tend to draw more runners towards them. It is a virus which draws ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâbad players̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ towards ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâreally great players.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ Like people follow the Top 10 Ranked players. -Go at peek-hours. When it is crowded, there are often more runners supplying essence. The logical result will be, more trades for you, meaning more experience per hour. -Keep your runners happy. A lot of times, I noticed that runners go back to the same person. Every once in a while, give a loyal runner a small bonus. It keeps them motivated to come back to you. -When you see a few people trade, try to trade the runners who are already waiting for a while first. This helps them not get annoyed and they will come back to you. -̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢Have a break, have a KitKat,̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ as the famous commercial goes. It means, that every now and then, you should take a break. It really becomes a drag if you keep trading and crafting. So take a few steps away from the altar, say ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâclosed̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ and just wait for a minute. Go to the toilet. Get yourself a drink. It actually improves your speed of working, if you take a break every now and then. Runner tips: -First rule in trading. Do Not Spam Trade (DNST). When a crafter trades you, the trade screen disappears, because you traded him again. A good chance that the crafter now picks someone else. You just ruined your shot to a trade. -Try to stick to a single crafter. Crafters, like stated above, tend to trade you faster when you are loyal to them. Also you might even get a small bonus. -Already said in the guide and needless to say. Wear nothing on you except the essence, the cash you gather and an air tiara/talisman. This will optimize your running ability and lets you earn more cash per hour. -Chat around! On the route between altar and bank, there are a lot of people walking. Try playing a taxi and chat around every once in a while. Keeps the job fun. -Keep all the cash you just earned in your inventory. This is just an extra motivation. You see the gold just stacking up. And you will enjoy it. Also set yourself a goal. 100k is equal to 50 trades. This takes a while, but it goes pretty fast. -Keep 2 items in your inventory that have no weight, like hammers or chisels. This way, you always have 25 essence in your inventory, instead of 27 which you would have using 'withdraw all essence'. This makes trading with the crafter and banking a bit faster. Final Word I hope I convinced a few people to train runecrafting. For myself, I have always enjoyed it and probably always will. There are tons of guides to runecrafting hidden all over the forum and all over the internet. They explain nature runecrafting. How to craft law runes and how to use the Abyss. Tons of debates on how hard runecrafting might just be. You are getting a high amount of experience per hour using the Air Company World 16. Also there is this ongoing debate about how annoying the abyss PK̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ers are. Well, you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t care about Abyss PK̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ers. Because you will be using the Air Company World 16. Half a world map away from the wilderness, safely in your air altar. No more running back and forth. Let others do it. And! After level 55, you will even be able to make a slight profit out of it. While still getting some of the fastest experience for runecrafting. Really, is there a reason left, not to train runecrafting? :-k Credits: Myself, writing this :P illuminitai, for his experience ratio per hour. ProZac_Rehab, for keeping this thread a bit more alive, bumping but more important, helping me out by helping others! He keeps me motivated really. \ World 16 founders, crafters, runners. Tip.it community And well, Jagex, for adding Runecrafting with the release of RS2.
  5. I do not make 10k nature runes but I do sometimes make 2k or 3k. What I do: I do not look at the runes. I put up some music Talk to some people Laugh at abbys pkers (They never get me muahua) And stop when I do get bored. Which is usually .. around 1.5k-2k nature runes. Good luck
  6. Har Har  I hear Pearl bolts are good for Teh Kay Bee Dee? They are DEFINITLY good for the Kay Bee Dee (KBD). They are that great, that he talks to every player that owns them, to bring them next. If you shoot with those, he stands a chance. Really, the special is to rare. And the oysters from the crabs to. If you kill a few more then 10 ;) you will notice. Try getting an inventory full of those things. If you are giong to the KBD, bring normal outfit and melee. Or whatever you did take. But do not bother on the pearl tipped bolts. Instead I just bought a karil X-bow to fire at Ahrims :P THAT is a bolt you should use, bolt racks! :-w Well I did a trip with a friend, he used the bolts, and I used melee, I was expecting to get all kills, but out of 3, he got 2. He was level 81 Range, and the spec seems to come quite often, water splashing on the fire dragon, hitting rather high. If you are a weak meleer and/or prefer Range, this could be a good alternative. Guess he got lucky or I got unlucky. Still I would prefer the melee. Although if your range is a lot higher and there is someone coming with melee. The bolts could be decent. The archer doesn't even need melee prayer, but magic prayer instead. Saves a lot of food for them : But importantly, what are your melee abilities, what did you take?
  7. I made 5 sets of full iron armour 4 armour parts with scitimar. So 5 of those sets, off to lumbridge :D world.. hm something crowded.. had to be 7 or 8 or so. I log in: poof :) cool, newbs I start looking around, few guys fighting there. I pick out the biggest new player, asking him about the game. He says he is new.. poof.. trade.. he is wearing full armour. I get: a big thank you and a wonderfull feeling. Repeat this 4 times! Was so cool! Next day, I log in.. ''I lost my armour.. can i have another?'' **SIGH** ''no'' (3 more times) .. I' am like what happened here?! I try to help and they are not carefull ? And they just ask for 'another'.. cheap guys..
  8. Great guide! I am using it now, with a few miner adjustments I take karil top + body + X bow (i get racks from chest) Thanks to your guide, I finaly am happy to melee karil.
  9. You have my word, I say this is not adviced :|
  10. For me it is not worth it. I do not do combat that much. Nor do I do CW that much. And death = loss. No way to retrive it, except a lot of hard work! I can understand why it is great, but is it worth the time and risk?

  12. So I am trying this out and I'll edit along the way. 21:30 started killing crabs. Carying but a DDS and barrows gloves. So no great boosts. Not getting THAT many oysters. I think 1 in every 7-10 kills. Pretty .. not common o well. Im trying to get a few extra bolt tips. I brought 230 iron bolts and a chisel. 21:35 Sometimes I get a double drop. Also, its about 80% oysters here. Maybe even a higher percentage. Or am I just lucky?! 21:39 .. 78 bolt tips collected. Not really hurying or so. Not the best weapon or stat boost. And no wealth. The ratio of pearls in oyster is aproximatly 90-95%. High.. Drop rate seems to be about 1 in 7 (?!) Not bad, but really not great.. :( 21:46 walking towards fire giants now with full dragon hide (black) Crossbow, unholy book, archer helmet. Rune x-bow :) 90 Echanted Pearl tipped bolts in my inventory (not more :( ) We will see the results in a sec +132 ranged bonus and 70 ranged. 21:56 .. dont bother The spec is awesome. Looks great.. but 140 shots (you can pick the bolts up) and only 4 specials. To random. The bolts, I can hit 10 with mithril arrows and MSB. But I can hit 12 with these bolts. I like that. The speed is .. mehhhh even if you can get ALOT of oysters, I do not advise it. The specials to random, the speed is .. mehhh.. and well, its alot of time and effort for pretty much nothing. O ye.. :the Special hit a 15! (and i believe it can do harder!)
  13. My favorite ranging monster is Blue Dragons.. Ye o well :P hey, it's just the idea :P dont spoil it for me. I found something that changes runescape once and for all! Im going in the history books :P and you are telling me, your favorite monster is blue dragons.. mehhhh : Well, I'm going to test it either tonight or tomorrow. But tested it will be!
  14. I very good point, I like to hear these things. But your sentence: "Well if a new skill isn't good enough already, we are enlarging the availability in ways to train it!" :P This is what I was wondering about. Do they add new things to improve the skill or could it be that some new updates main goal is to just get people to talk about the skill? A main advertising goal? Like lumberjack outfit for woodcutting? (I mean, it isnt THAT great.. but it sure made woodcutting a hot-topic)
  15. Also take in account: Iron knives have a higher market value Cannonballs have a higher market value Arrowtips have a higher market value (completing arrows) Steel knives have a higher market value A lot of rune items have a higher market value Steel plates also have a market value (about 900-1000ea?) Just a few things to keep in your mind.. :) It is not always the alching amount that counts.
  16. So, updates. People we have updates. When do we have updates. Every single week! woohoo! Go Jagex! We like our updates every week, but how good are these updates. Or what is the point behind all the updates? Things to think off :-s 1 thing just 'slipped' my mind. Agility: -2 new courses and A LOT of attention. Result: More people training agility (or so it seems, I do not know the facts) Construction: -New long bones and curved bones. Also perfect snail thingies Result: A new way to train construction. Now if we take a look at these updates, a lot of people are sceptical about them. They aren't really GREAT ways to train the skill. But still, the result: people start discussion the skill and people tend to train it more. The skill was brought to their attention, thus making them skill! So just a mad, crazy, random thought: Is Jagex trying to draw attention to certain skills? (With small updates?)
  17. So far I had 2 long bones and a curved one. Curved one gives the better experience. You need to complete death to the dorgushoen quest (which is 2-3 quest storyline) to actually use these. You cannot trade them. They are rare drops from random monsters. Also the perfect snail thingies, which I haven't come across yet, seem to be pretty rare to. Really, it is a nice experience bonus once in a while. But it is really for the poorer all-out combat people. To my opinion, train at the ankous, you get more money per hour so you can get more experience in construction. Its a nice bonus, just let the bones stack in your bank and deliver them in about half a year or so?
  18. You, sir, are on something! :-$ I strongly disagree. Even though the special is powerful, it's not frequent enough to be worth using a weapon that much slower than a shortbow. It is slower which is .. pretty much very true. But hey, give it a shot. You might even like it? It is pretty decent experience to make them. I can make a little over 1k cosmics in about 20 minutes. So that is enough for 10k bolts. If really (and I will test this out) the crabs THAT much pearls. I could really see something. Although I do doubt it. I just got a little bit overenthousiastic. I will try it out later this day or tomorrow and we will see the result. Maybe it suprises you, maybe it suprises me. Maybe it changes runescape for once and for all :boohoo: :XD:
  19. 5.5M and even more in items. I wanted it for full Verac. Did a few trips (15-20) on the KQ and then sold it. Its great excitement.. especially at combat 93, but its not ment for me. Then I wasted it all on D hides, got 70 crafting and then 3m down the drain for 63 construction.. Im poor and I LOVE IT!
  20. Clearly a case of randoms.. :P as chickens cannot damage you hehe. The lowest level to kill me. Let's see. Well' my first death was pretty much by Elvarg, the fearsome dragon. (which it was in RSC.. a little more) How: Well, I had a so called 'test-run.' 3 items + anti d fire shield + a few lobsters. You can guess it, he made toast out of me at 43 combat. Then the next day I pumped myself up. Full adaminth, rune battle axe and my fearless anti dragon fire shield! A strenght pot with me (first one I ever used) and an inventory full of swordfishes (best F2P food w00t!). The result: YOU CAN GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THERE!!.. I came out the room at lvl 45 I thought. Yup, I killed Elvarg at combat 43 and I'm proud of it! 2 swordfish used?! Really, why didn't I just kill him on the test run instead of him cooking me?! Besides that, a pker, which I don't count. I don't die that much  Which is a good thing right?
  21. You are F2P and you are NOT becoming a member any time soon? In that case: go for it! F2P doesn't have that many things to invest into. Well, there is runecrafting, but if you play it well, you can train it for free after level 55. So basicly GO FOR IT!.. Although it isn't the best level and it does cost a lot, it is quite the honour to be a real rune smither! It might even push you to train it even more, so you can smith cooler rune items. (rune axes / mediums or even higher !!) So really, train it! It is the feeling that counts over everything else
  22. So really, what monster or where, do you have the best drop rate or fishing rate to get oyster pearls? This might be interesting for the die-hard fire giant killers. Although I am not sure if it is even effective.
  23. 1 simple word for you to FINALY understand: skillers well actually 2 words: pure skillers
  24. I would make this superduper very hawt underwater sword !!! O wait, jagex just did that.. :wall: Well, the use of a cannon would be cool. New ranging weapon: hand-carried cannon. Ammo: Light cannonballs Which can be made out of steel bars, but make 5ea time. A slight bit slower then crossbow 2 handed As strong as a crystal bow.. Just cheaper \ Could be a cool PKing weapon for ranged. Even up the triangle ?!?! \
  25. Well, oysters aren't that great of a drop. But what is the ratio? This could be handy to create a LOT of bolt tips! I remember the oyster tipped bolts. I'll have a look at the guide. Pearl tipped IRON bolts. Attach a pearl to it and echant it you need 1 cosmic + 2 water (water staff) 10 bolts at a time. Is great for the water effect. Namely, water damages fire monsters BIG TIME. Guess what our favorite ranging monster is? .. FIRE giants? Conclusion, bring a lot of iron bolts --> chisel and a knife or I don't know. Then bring a huge stack of cosmics (which I can double craft) to the place. Make infinite super bolts for fire giants Combat exp + Ranging exp + Fletching exp + Magic exp.
