  1. My name, 12pure34 My stats.. 73 defense, 60 prayer?.. I would spend a million which is a fortune for me, to change my name!
  2. I was thinking this when i first saw this topic but now i have to agree with the person who said monkey madness dungeon, unless all that glider distance doesnt count, then its brimmy dungeon. I think you should count time instead of distance. Because alot of plains are FAR FARRRRRRRr away from a bank, but only cost.. a few minutes to go to. You cannot walk to Ape atoll, so you cannot compare this. The distance is great, time is not. I think at daganoth kings. Long long dungeon. Then the walk from seers to releka, from which you take the boat.. oefff :uhh:
  3. Although I said it was hardly possible, I do support this idea. Do you want the BankWorth, or how should we calculate what our account is worth?
  4. To be honnest.. you cannot. See, some people have a few million gp at just 500 total. Others have basicly nothing at 1500 total. I myself have 1464 total and a bankvalue of aproximatly 6m. But I invest alot in skills. I also have a friend with 1200 total, 100 combat, who has 22M.. I'm sorry, but you could try it seperate for each skill though.
  5. I try to spend as much money as I can. Especially on skills. Although I try to earn most back. Via other skills to combine, which makes me small losses. And I have several other skills which do make me money, while effectively training them. So this gives me space to spend. I do spend, but I try to have enough money in my bank, to do whichever I feel like. Like spending a million to get my prayer up.. because.. I want to :boohoo: (hot emoticon.. )
  6. I love the new update. Especially in combination with the bank in lumbridge (and my Bank from RFD) Alot of times, I go to .. well somewhere in the world of Runescape.. for away into caves or spots where I can get stuck. And I forgot to take a teleport with me. Especially in members, it is important to remain mobile at all times! So the home teleport is a life saver to all the people who love their mobility for a second. Yes I use the home teleport. Quite frequently. When I finish a slayer task and have to get to zanaris --> Via lumbridge, bank and take dramen staff to slayer master. When I am done with a quest, I take the home teleport Whatever reason I have to go to lumbrdige, I use the teleport. Just 1 exception, when I already used it in the last 30 minutes. Then I just take a lumby tele from the bank and teleport. Experience in magic right \ Besides I make my own laws, so to me, wasting 50 laws on a day of Runescaping, isn't a big deal :
  7. Oh, I am level 92 at the moment. I tend to spend my time with mostly lower levels. And usualy it is me who starts a conversation. I like to talk to others. But when I do not like to answer, or the other doesn't like to answer, that is not snobbish. Although this might look like, but most of the time it isn't. Equality? :-w
  8. excuse me? since when did anything in runescape have a point? In any game for that matter.I'm not sure how you'd rather have me phrase that. If i can raise say woodcutting and firemaking to a high lvl faster by doing the primary skill (woodcutting) with the fastest exp logs and by buying logs for firemaking, I will do that instead of cutting slower logs so I can burn them, or burning the lower lvl logs.so how are you going to get the woodcutting lvls? like I said in my post, a woodcutting cape is far more impressive than a fletching cape which you can just buy. Altought some may have a different idea, I do feel that skill capes like fishing and woodcutting are worth more. Also this is a opinion and offtopic.. I said, avoid the word noob there, because lower levels are not noob. Something which can be confused and be turned to a flame. Now to stay ontopic for myself to: It will always remain a choice for people, wether or not they collect their own materials. When you become richer, you tend to buy more materials, because.. You can (?!). Also, when you become a higher level, and your goal is to level up, most of the people stick to the most efficient way. Ofcourse there are many other ways, which can be more fun or make more profit. And this is a matter of choice. I'd love to hear some more opinions about this. Anyone had any experience with a lower leveled account, which he made after his high account. How was getting money and skilling for you since you started with all skills lvl 1? And how did this changed when your levels went higher?
  9. Ar / Doin / je Sounds great, but isn't Ardougne a french city. Exactly the same way to speak both those names.
  10. If everyone had that attitude, you'd be bound to find an odd one that likes to gather raw materials :P If you were interested in money making (and knew what you were doing) then you would make the money in the most efficient way possible for you and your budget. (lordsoultar's example) I agree, newer players have little choice but to begin with the gathering skills. Duh. At a certain point in your runescape career, you will have aquired a skill (or something) that provides enough income to fund efficient leveling of a "secondary" skill of your choice. These skills are generally faster in leveling, more so when supplemented with readily available raw materials. Yes, sir! I bought my logs, p ess, and (some) ores! (I like fishing and mining though :P) So watcha gonna do? \ I am going to.. Oh.. I am going to .. =D> =D> I like fishing to : Do not think I do not like collecting. I'd love to fish from time to time. Or even mine my own ores. But I prefer runecrafting, and yes.. i buy my essence :
  11. Mage trees are for profit. They are not good for experience. So these cannot be counted for an experienced process to my opinion.
  12. Well your first post did make sense. And no I am not hardheaded like stated in an earlier post. That is why I discuss this. I do see your point. That there is a certain line. But when you enter Runescape as a level 3, until your moment now, there is a certain change. A change in the way you play. The higher level you become, I feel like there are 2 ways --> Way of the fun in experience. You do whatever you find fun, so if you like to go all the way from start to finish, that is what you do. --> Way of pure experience/money. If you want to train efficiently, you buy the skill. If you want money, you do things that make profit. A little generalised, but I cannot start summing up every way to train in this game. As more and more people become rank-addicted or capatalistic, they tend to save money, to become Rich. Or train skills soully to become the best. Which goes of the cost of their fun in the game. Opinions?
  13. I do get the feeling my thread isn't all I was thinking. It was more the idea that for money/hour AND exp/hour it might seem better to powertrain. I do met a person, I think level 101, which made his own leather chaps (studded) and alched them. He mined the ores for the studs. He killed his own cows. He tanned his own hides, mined his own essence and crafted these into natures. In the end, he gets 450 profit per leather chap (studded). Yes, alot of profit. Yes, alot of experience. BUT! If he would have bought pure essence and crafted natures. Bought cowhides and tanned/crafted these. And bought ores and smelted/smithed and he did this proces. He would get the same or higher experience / hour and money / hour. Or something close to it. Sitting a proces out from start to finish seems to disappear in Runescape. Do you still chop your own logs, pick your own flax and mine your own essence, to be alching yew longs for maximum profit. Or do you buy the logs and flax and essence? Less profit, maybe less experience, but way more time efficient, which saves time, time which could be spend in repeating the process, which evens money and experience out. Hope this one explains it a little more of what I am meaning.
  14. Please sworddude, leave this tread alone if you rant. I am trying to get a discussion here. The title is there to atract people. It is what writers tend to do. And yes, I realize it can be offending. But if you read the article, you realize it is not my opinion that it is dumb. It could (!) be a logical conclusion. So please, add something on topic, or leave the thread, I do not wish it to become a rant.
  15. Oh.. I haven't done To much quests. Sounds like the most fun quests, I have missed. But if it considers the quest itself: RFD (goblin part actually made me fall of my chair, hurting my knee  ) If it considers reward: Fairy part 2 (not finished but started because of rings) or herloes, as I constantly have to recharge my glories \
  16. I have no idea of what you are saying here, but I think it means like it is my good right to have an opinion. Thank you for that. But still I feel like changing the tittle back. Although it might be challenging, I think tip.it's IQ' level is up to the test..
  17. Before you are trying to accuse me of being ignorant. Mining iron ore gives how much experience per ore?.. Pure essence gives 5exp. Alot less then pure essence. So mining your own pure essence isn't exactly considered great experience. Picking flax, where is experience in that? Just a few examples. I just took the catchy titel of Gathering Raws is dumb, as it makes people read and react (like any good writer would do :) The true questions were asked at the bottom of my post, which you would have seen, if you take the time to read and think about the post  I consider it for the lower levels, as they do not have the levels to make more profit with making items out of Raws then collecting Raws. And I wanted to discuss the proces of when you are high enough to stop collecting, or if you are never to high. Or to rich?! :-k So no, not the dumbest post O:)
  18. Yes, you are right there. That is a silly mistake of me. I realize that now :( sorry. But you must consider English isn't my first language ;) so sometimes I do make silly mistakes, but I'll ask a mod kindly if he/she could change it If you buy ALL your supplies it doesent make you l3g1t 0r 1337 0r ub3r k3wl it makes you lazy Yes, it does prove I am lazy. But that doesn't answer the question. How do you feel about it? Do you gather all of your own materials. If so, in what way. Are there skills which you do not activily use and just powertrain to raise skill total?
  19. Oh yes, it is time for something intellectuel again. Recently I have been skilling. In a 4 month spread I managed to raise my skill total from 950 to 1450. I managed to go from 32qp to 152qp and raised my experience by a few million in total. It took me 4 months of playing an average 90 minutes / 2 hours a day. As time flyes by. I was wondering, what uses certain skills have to me. Ofcourse, every skill has a use for someone. But which skills does a medium player like myself (I do not consider myself high/low) need. So I started checking my stats and found a few things that cought my attention. --> I never mine my own Pure Essence..Nor do I mine my coal or iron. Nor any other ore. As my smithing isn't high enough to make money with high materials, I do not mine the required higher ores. So mining, simply lost use for me. I train smithing by buying Raws. Same for runecrafting --> I do not fish my own food. Buying it goes faster for me. At the moment I use monkfish, which I cannot catch myself. And I am to lazy to fish lobsters.. Trouts and salmon have a low use for me. --> Why do I train woodcutting? I buy the logs for fletching (which I hardly ever do (lvl 68)). Well, I guess you are starting to get the feeling, I hardly have a use for gathering skills. This results in power training instead of material gathering! This was kind of shocking to me, as I always considered you shouldn't be buying your skill, which in the end, I start of doing. I am the kind of person who starts to think of reasons why. Reason 1: I can buy Raw Materials, as it saves me time, time which I want to spend in a fun way. Or at least, in a way more fun then collection raws. Reason 2: The money I save with collecting my own Raws, is smaller then the money I earn when I will be using the raw materials. Note: Pure essence to nature runes.. Or Iron bars to knifes / darts (?!) Reason 3: When it comes to experience / hour. Powertraining gathering skills is faster then collecting Raws with those skills. And training skills with Raws which are bought, is faster training then using the ones you collected. Example: powermining iron ore, smithing iron bars into knives // Mining your own iron ore, smelting them (using forge ring) and smithing them. In these 4 months I managed to raise my bank from 2.5M networth to 7M networth. This allowed me to buy even more Raws. And because of my higher skill, it went increasingly more efficient to buy Raws. So what my mind goes: -When I became better, collecting skills became less important -When I became richer, collecting skills became less important Possible conclusion: Gathering is for the poor and lower levels (Note: I avoid the word noob as it is in no way in place here) --> How do you guys feel about gathering skills? --> Is this conclusion right, or am I thinking the wrong way? --> Are you a high/low level and how do you feel about gathering skills? --> Do you feel the same, as you become a higher leveled player or have increased money?
  20. You never tought of runecrafting aight? Making your own air runes and selling those? 15ea are they these days?.. So essence 30ea, making 4 air runes at lvl 33. That is doubling your money invested :) and if you ever become member, at lvl 44 the ability of nature runes. I mean, try to expand your skills. If you stick to woodcutting, then yes, you will remain poor for a long time, unless you really really woodcut alot. There are faster ways, but more important, MORE ways.. Good luck. I remember when I had my first million, felt great. Now I am at 7M only 4 months later.
  21. A good thing you reported him. I think if anyone says a thing like that, he does not deserve the right to speak to others. Muted they must be. But to react to general rudeness. True as it is, I find it sad that a person with a heart and mind is capable of saying such a thing. People are less polite and it sickens me. I've had it in other games, which was the main reason I quitted those games. Will not happen to me in this game, mainly because those people cannot touch me. I can avoid the wilderness, I can turn of chat. So I can play my own game :) They are out there, rude people, but we have a more powerfull use. Jagex and an ignore button
  22. Maybe you could Explain what you are talking about Also what is ROF (I do not know what it means?!) And what is the Golden Pen? Around what date was this happening? clearafication..
  23. I myself am 92 combat. I consider myself above average. With a 1450 total, I may say, I have most requirements to be able to do everything in the game. Just a few skills like herblore for a quest. Or a few combat levels for the strongest monsters. I have to admit, the highest level updates are rare. But if you look at a few updates. The newly added rune rock @ Fremmy Ilse. The DK's aren't that old. The KQ isn't TO old.. and still though and worthwhile. But these are fairly old updates. I say a new one is nesecary. But this one should be.. HIGH, as in High for skills. I am talking about needing 70+ in a certain skill. Not in cooking.. nor in mining. But more something like smithing, to give a boost to this ''rusty'' skill. Or perhaps agility as they promise in the new BTS. Personally I'd like to see a new high update in the area around F2P skills. Combining skills to revamp the entire skill. Give people a reason to train old skills, to combine them with new skills. Crosslinks they are called.
  24. Great experience indeed. Problem with that, although it is great experience: Getting all the tiaras is a pain. Buying from a general store stack or buying from players.. costly Getting all talismans, that would be the biggest problems. I heard DK's drop big stacks of noted talismans. But no other monster does. Also buying these is a time taking and expensive process.. But yes, this would be the fastest experience without runners. Although it isn't the best experience to my opinion. As you have huge costs. While runecrafting is mostly a profitmaking skill. But still do not tell to many people. There might be a rush on RC'ers.. :-$
  25. First of all. I am nearly 62 runecrafting. The reason I tell you this, is to prove I like runecrafting. I like runecrafting the way it is. Yes, you have to run up and down, back and forth. From left to right and around.. but I like it. A few reasons: The skill is an accomplishment. A high level is something most people do not reach easily. So if I tell I have RC 61.. they freak out, saying that is great. I like that Second, I like the cash. Making 200k+ profit an hour isn't bad. As I am a person who spends money in skills, I try to earn it back with runecrafting. Thirth reason would be the runes itself. Making 6 air runes out of 1 essence allows me to make alot of air runes in an hour. Always handy, as you will not have to buy them for 15-20ea, but instead make your own for what would be 5gp ea. And!!.. 5 rc exp. Which is pretty expensive experience, if you use, by example, the FFL (about 12-13gp/ exp which is the same as construction).. So yes, Runecrafting I like it the way it is. Like it is now. Not when it is made easier, not when it is made harder, but just the way it is now. :
