What Pray Book did you pick and why
I picked zamarok, though I am a follower of Guthix. I picked it, as I will only use it in an agresive way. I have more use for extra Attack, instead of extra defense.. And guthix still is my favorite.

About time mages and rangers have specs?
Mage arena spells have a special effect The Ancient magic has special effects. Mages can decrease players stats temporarly Mages can make people stop moving, or stop them from teleporting. Mages can echant things. Mages can teleport I think magic and mages have enough special spells to call them, special.. :

Behind the Scenes - February
Sounds like a construction minigame perhaps. Probaly the new mage dungeon of the second quest will be rubish, but I like the sound of the first quest! I think I will do that and call it the first quest I did right when it came out. :P Or at least.. well.. Go jagex Go jagex! Good month

Decline in Treasure Hunters?
Yes, that is right. I love treasure trails. I have done a lot of level 1 clues especially. And the occasional lvl 3 clue. The level 3 clues, I just get when I am killing dragons or so. But those level 1 clues, I do for fun. I train my thieving, and every once or so, I take my Ham clothes from the bank and thieve till I get a clue (which is pretty fast). Then it costs me a few minutes, depending if I get Uri's emotes, to complete it. The best till now has been a Sara page worth a nice 100k. I like treasure trails. Yes, you get lots of junk Yes, it is mostly wasting your time Yes, it can be quite fun Yes, you are thrilled, as you do expect crap, but there can always be something nice.

29 January 2007 - What's black and white and goes green...
stupid stupid stupid.. me.. I was supposed to get my membership back today, but I forgot to get me a card, so now I have to wait till I can do this update. I've always like penguins. I went to the zoo with my current ex and we enjoyed them so much! So I am just thrilled to actually BE a penguin! And the course has a 500xp per round. So that is a little lower then the wilderness course? Not good for 51+ I assume.. And I love the high *COUGH* construction requirement. Good thing I got it up to 51 :boohoo:

So, you want to be a World 16 Air Crafter?
I made some of these calculations aswell. but you forgot something To add in essence price in the calculation as you will be giving essence + 2000gp. This makes lvl 55 at a price of 15gp ea not very profitable

Team Killing The King Black Dragon
Some critisism: A) do something about a spelling, just read along your text once more. It isn't that bad, but just.. don't take this offensive. (ex. Route 1, Route 2) B) You need only 43+ prayer against him. C) Some lay-out, its hard to read like this D) I suggest take a anti dragon breath potion. I couldn't find it in your guide. It saves quite a few damage. Just 1 potion (4) should be sufficient. A super anti dose (4) and about 2/3 prayer pots (4). Don't bring 4-5, as this is a waste of space. Rest is sharks. Not monks, but sharks. Try making some picture, but that is my only commentary.. a pretty nice guide. Just nothing revolutionairy I wouldn't have known before. Sorry.

Dkjestrup's guide to Crafting F2p and P2p
Well, funny you writen this. Here is my critisism. Almost nobody trades his uncuts for cuts these days. Uncuts are worth more to players, so they sell them uncut. Silver is slow... you might aswell could have added pottery. Which works pretty good for those first levels. It is kind of fun to. Training crafting by using gold is always a bad plan, as it is worthless experience, unless you have a few thousand gold bars just sitting in your bank. If you are going to craft it. Make it into saphire rings and echant these. Rings of recoil are 1k ea. Or duel rings which are 5k ea. (sometimes) But the correct way you should have mentioned and is pretty much known, is hard leather bodys for F2P Members can make coifs or dragonhides, whatever their budget allows. Also making studded leather chaps seems to work just fine. I had some rich guy making everything from scratch, which even earned him a few pennys and he had fun \ So really, try to do some research. This is just 5 minutes of work and even less thinking.

A Guide to collecting Herblore 2nds (Draft Complete)
In the wilderness, there is a unicorn spot, not far in the wilderness. Like level 12. There are tons of black unicorns here just waiting to be slaugthered. It isn't a Pk'ers hotspot, so just take a glory, a weapon and some strenght boosting thing, like a berserker helmet and go kill them. Use the glory to teleport back. The walk isn't that far and can easily be made with about 70% energy. There is also a good spot in varrock sewers. Although its a pretty long way going there, the 2 spawns are fairly quick in a decent crowded world and by bringing a varrock teleport, you won't have to bother walking all the way back. Hope it helps you a little bit. Good luck with the guide. You just gave me a great idea about the taromorins. I completely forgot that they can be used for the serum! I gave away 3k herblore experience, because I forgot that. But never more in the future, so in my opinion. This is alreadya a Great guide.

what was the first thing u did when u became a member?
about 3.5months ago when i started members. I first met up with my friend in Taverley. Then did druid ritual (had meats ready).. Then did lost city with my mate.. And then well, I went to Grand tree to do the quest there, as I wanted the gnome flyers. But I needed 30-35 agility so I trained it in 2 go's all the way. Leveled up alot, did a few quests. Getting members back monday I think, if I feel like it.

Where Are All The High Level People From??
As being a highly developed country, I think Netherland, compared to its number of inhabitants, has the highest number of high levels. I am combat lvl 91, ofcourse from Holland. But more people in Holland have good connection internet, a decent computer and enough wealth and capability of thinking to play Runescape to a high level. Education level is pretty high here.

Examines.
oh I just love these examine topics, makes me laugh so much. There was quite a list before several times, but I've reading so many new ones here. I love it! sorry I don't have one myself, but keep on adding new ones :)

MOST VALUABLE shop item
Sure was a long time ago, the red party hat was there. But it had a default stack of 0, so it is not really that. A shop that actually sells the item has a default stock of 1 or more then 1. Oh yes, if you want to keep on rare prices, get someone to sell it to the general store. I bet that the price will be lower then.. 10gp? The magic stone in construction is by far the most expensive item. Almost double the value of a new crystal bow (those were 500k i thought.) And the other half of the dragon shield was 375k I assume. Not really sure. For a long time though, the dragon battleaxe was the most expensive item in the game. Before the legends guild came out. Followed by The Elfs. Followed by construction. Didn't add that much, just made it clear you are not looking for rare items and there is basicly nothing more expensive then the magic stone and some usefull history. \ Oh, yes abbysal whip and barrows armour have a lower selling price in general stores then the Magic Stone.

Challenges Vs. Autoers
True =D> The idea is fine, but I don't think this will really help... it will just take longer to make an autoer, but in the end they will stay... the profit they make is still big enough to do the extra effort :-s so that won't stop people from making autoers... Fire off: There is taken care of the requirement rule. Especially considering combat. That is why, which is already been named several times, a Second Path which requires NO-combat at all. And they will probaly continue. This is true, but it certainly puts them back and slows then down and even some, which I hope to be a lot, will stop. But feel free to give any advice on how we actually CAN make this idea work. Because most people I have spoken to, found it a very clever idea, but they were not.. totally satisfied. Tips are always! welcome :P
-
Challenges Vs. Autoers
Then just take path 1 =D> Also, I have noted this at Personal Thoughts that I have splitted this up, so pure skillers can stay lvl 3.
-
Challenges Vs. Autoers
The real pest are players that have 5-6 or even more autoers simultanious. They will get the requirements, but it takes so much time, it will scare them of, or at least put them back. Also, the requirements aren't that high, but they are not 30 minutes work. This is actual time spend by the owner gaining. For multiple bots, this means multiple times the same way. If they want to write an autoing program for all the extra skilling aswell, they will, but most of them just won't. Also, you have no restricting to gaining in the skill, just a little restricting in cutting for example Yew logs. This mini-quest should be used where autoers are activily playing.
-
Challenges Vs. Autoers
The 40 smithing requirement could be altered to 20 smithing and use silver ore in the story. But since this is a 'special bar' this can be any level. I mean, that is just a part of the story. The skill requirement can be altered and will have a low/medium or even high level requirement, depending on the material. Runite is for higher levels and will have higher requirements. But thank you for your post and opinion.

Iban Blast
Great leap in logic there man. Low level are less poor. Higher levels are more poor? Please man, don't post on a thread you not absolutely nothing about. Nowhere did I say that it takes 200k to charge a staff. It is 200k to get a new one, but charging the staff is free. Kind of makes it obvious that you have never done it. Dude...Do you mage at all? Fire wave does not use deaths!! Tip.it has a very in depth mage guide, try getting at least one fast straight before posting. I included 'Bang for buck' calcs at the bottom for ya. The god spells aren't autocastable either! (well, unless you have the Void Knight Mace). Your correct i think, i think i max 21 with no charge or cape, 25 without charge with cape, 27 with charge without cape, and 30 with cape and charge. Yep you are both wrong. RS KB Battle Spells Page Iban Blast costs less and gives more xp per cast than the god spells. Iban: Base - 42.5, can hit for up to 25 For a full hit: 92.5 XP Cost per cast: 400gp. Average hit: 14 for 70.5 xp Cost per xp: 5.67 God Spell (lvl 60-80): Base - 35, can hit 20 For a full hit: 75 Cost per cast: 1,320gp. Average hit: 11.5 for 58 xp Cost per xp: 22.75 God Spell (with charge) Base - 35, can hit 30 For a full hit: 95 Cost Per cast: 1,320 (but charge spell costs 1,920) Average hit: 17.25 for 69.5xp ** Cost per xp: 20.4 I estimaged the ave hit for the charged spell because I can't do it and have no data for it, but I took my average hit from the uncharged and used the same percentage out of 30 as I was hitting out of 20. The cost per xp is also based n 20 hits per charge. A simple word of respect. You are pretty good at figuring and comparing things. You mind taking a look at my post: Challenges vs. Autoers. OnTOPIC: Iban staff has it's pros and his cons, but all together. Why did nobody call: DESERT TREASURE ANCIENT MAGIC!!!!! Suprisingly, they DO autocast, are more expensive, but have side effects.. better spells in my opinion. Are you comparing iban staff to god staffs.. iban staff wins in the overal round. If you compare any spell to ancient magic.. well.. just don't, as ancient magic is pretty strong!

Challenges Vs. Autoers
Thank you for your fast reply. You might also read the just added part about Pro's and Con's and also personal thoughts. I will add the idea about pure woodcutters. The problem is, a lot of people 'copy-cat' autoers with pure woodcutters. And this makes it even harder to find a good way. People that use autoers do not spend a lot of time on them. With your pure woodcutter, you do. This will result in you being able to get the requirements/skills and time to finish the task (still being lvl 3). An autoer will not do the skilling and completing the task for every single character.

Challenges Vs. Autoers
< Warning Long Read, very Long.. > Pre-post: Please realize this post is a serious attempt to explain a serious idea. I hope you can help me work this idea out. It might even work. So please do not spam and contribute serious post at which normal forum rules apply Post-setup 1: Introduction 2: The Basic Idea 3: Example of the Idea 4: Personal thoughts 5: General pro's - con's 6: Actual use of the idea Introduction :-k This post is about an idea I have recently thought of. An idea to stop players from using automated bots to do their work. I am talking about the so called autoers as I will name them along this post. Along this post I will explain the idea and also give an example so you can fully understand the idea. I hope this idea could make a change, or even the change. Well.. here we go. The Basic Idea It is a complicated idea, but I will try and summarize it into a little piece. The idea is based on mini-quest related tasks for several items. Players which aquired a certain level to gather a material or create an item, have to perform a small task to be able to actually do this. These task will not take much longer then .. let us say, 15-30 minutes. In this task, the player has to use different types of skills, other then the actual skill the items takes place. The example which I will explain is yews. You need 60 woodcutting. After you reach that level, players can NOW chop them. Nothing else but an axe required. After this update, players now have the ability to perform a task, at which the reward for this mini-quest, is the ability to cut yews. Sounds a little confusing still. Well good thing I have an example! \ The Example This idea is for the ability to cut yew trees to gather yew logs. Story line idea: Bob (axe shop Bob) is having diffuculties, as he can't get repairs on axes done fast enough. To many unexperienced woodcutters are breaking their axe over strong Yew trees. Can you help Bob design a better axe? Requirements for this mini-quest: woodcutting 60 (for yew trees) Crafting 25 Smthing 40 Firemaking 43 This will be named Path 1 Or :!: Woodcutting 60 Magic 31 Fishing 43 This will be named Path 2 (will explain 'Or'/Path 1,2 later on in 'Personal thoughts') Very important: These requirements are not 'firm.' These can be lower and higher. Ofcourse, for higher level materials or items, the requirements will probaly raise a little bit to. Mini-quest idea (a guide-type) You have to get the plans for a protype of an axe. These can be found in a treehouse, north of Varrock. Here, a forester by the name of Bob (what a coincidence..) lives. Talk to the forester and he will ask for 3 items. (these items can be random and will have a low/medium value) Once you bring him these items, he will give the plans for the axe. Back at Bob (lumbridge), Bob tells you the plans require a special golden bar. Path 1: The forester will help you make the golden bar. But he will ask to bring him a gold ore and 40 willow logs to light the furnace. Bring him 40 unnoted willow logs, which will require 2+ runs. Then bring the gold ore with you. Talk to the forester again with the gold ore and the plans. The forester will then give you a mould to smelt the special golden bar. When done, go back to Bob in Lumbrdige. Path 2: When back at the foresters house, you will also see the golden bar on a table. Try to take it and the forester will tell you that you may not take it. Then 'use' telekentic grab on the bar. The forester catches you. In a conversation, he will let you take the bar, but you will have to bring him 10 of his favorite fish. These fishes can only be caught behind Port Sarim and you will need special bait. To get this bait you need to use a piece of spinach, which you can get at Lumbridge Cook. Also you need some green dye, to make the bait even more green. Use both on regular fishing bait and catch 10 fishes. Once brought to the forester, raw, you can take the bar to Bob Bob will then make his axe and after you talk to him again, he tells you he tried the axe. And it didn't break. This will end the mini-quest. Reward: -The ability to cut yew trees. -Bobs old axe, which may be bronze to mithril. Personal Thoughts I think I have to explain certain parts as they might be confusing. O:) First of all, the requirements. I have specificly chosen for 2 types of requirements. This for 2 reasons. First Reason: Some people prefer staying lvl 3 combat. They do not have combat stats trained and will not use magic. So using non-combat requirements will let them cut their Yew trees without ruining the lvl 3 combat style. Second Reason: Some persons do not have the requirements for Path 1, but do so for Path 2. This allows them to still being able to finish it. If both are not yet reached, they will have to train these skills first, before being able to cut yews. Second: Why? Well, autoers are known for being lvl 3. They have all skills at lvl 1 and only 1 skill, let it be woodcutting, mining or whatever at a high level. By letting them do the little mini-quest, they first have to raise the required levels in other skills and! do a little task, before they can gather the material or make the item, which they make so much money on. Wouldn't that just upset everyone? Would it upset P2P that autoers will stop or massivly decrease. Or would F2P be upset, they have gotten several mini-quests, an adition to their gameplay? No, I don't think this will upset a lot of people. Although some do, it is for the bigger cause. *Ofcourse, if you have more questions, you can always ask them. I will answer them and some of them will be added here, so people will understand the idea just a bit better. Pro's and Con's Every good things brings something, well not so good. #-o So I have set up some good points about this idea and also some reasons why this is just a bad idea. Might change your opinion.. : Pro's -This update will slow down or even stop people from using autoers. -Everyone ( :!: ) will have several mini-quests to perform. This is just a fun update. Small tasks with pretty big rewards! (abilitys :!: ) Con's -You will actually have to reach the level, reach other levels in different skills and have to perform a small task in order to (finally) being able to do the thing the mini-quest is about. -You will not be able to make a character to soully train woodcutting. You will need some extra skills. *I will add more pro's and con's after I get some replies with opinions. Actual Use Of Idea Now where can we use this. In the example, I used the ability Cutting Yew trees. But there are several uses. Please note before having any opinion on this, that these are just suggestions and they will not be used everywhere, mostly the places were autoers are very active. -Yew trees (as in example) -Lobster fishing -Rune essence (not a great idea, since there is a quest required) -Crafting jewelry -Mining coal / mithril / addaminth / runite -Smithing steel / mithril / addaminth / runite -Cooking food lvl 40+ (training in cooking guild ?!) *Ideas about this, I am welcome to add Should this be used on P2P? Maybe.. also a big discussion point. And to make sure I am a reliable source. Some information about me: I have a lvl 90 character and I have been member for over 2 months now. I have played since Runescape Classic and I am very active on forums.

The quest cape shattered my hopes.
:-k Legends quest has an ending in this way. You can take the 'easy' way, at which you have to weaken the demons, or you can fight them the normal way, thougher but faster. (read this.. 2 days ago) Yes, I do feel that a more random approach improves questing. Although, requirements shouldn't be over 70 to my opinion. Fairy II has a nice high herblore requirement.. MEII has some good agility requirements. RFD some combat and especially 70 cooking requirement. These are pretty high standard. Don't think there is nothing high out there. Also, how many people have 65 smithing? :notalk:

ugliest item in Runescape
=D> =D> Yes, real men do wear skirts. Preferably with nothing underneath it according to my girlfriend :-w But ON TOPIC: I like my spotted cape. It lowers my weight and since I am not an owner of some hidious obsidian cape, I stick to my sweet weight lowering spotted cape. Now for my rant on ugly looking things: Tyras helm.. Whyyyy :ohnoes: Red/blue castle armour is .. good to raise construction with.. it has a use! :-$ =D> =D> Now.. the most ugly thing I have ever seen! I am talking about the most ugly hidious awfull thing in entire runescape! A berserker ring! You can't even see it! just kidding, I am talking about plain capes. Not wilderness capes, legend capes, obsidian capes and especially not fire capes, but normal capes! I have haten them in RSC, I hate them in RS2.. I still do not wear capes. I have started wearing capes when I got my spotted cape. But normal capes, especially plain black.. :shame:

My ideas on how to stop autoers from being so common
Jagex is never going to do this. As it will have no use at all. You will only destroy F2P worlds, which as a member being, I find no good idea to do. And the demand of P2P will grow but suplies will drop. Look at the amount of yew longs made and alcht and compare this situation with the pure essence story. Bad idea, which most members didn't like either. Then again, aren't there better solutions. Like requirements? Get them to do challenges in order to be able to cut yews. So you need certain other skills besides woodcutting to cut yews. You need other skills in order to complete a 'challenge' which allows you to mine runite. This would result in various ''mini-games'' for F2P and results in a better community. Few notes in forehand: -No combat required, as there are a lot of Pure Skillers (lvl 3). Various skills does not mean lvl 20. But I am talking about crafting 40 and smithing 50 or so. These requirements grow as the product becomes more worth. So rune ore has higher requirements then yew logs. -They shouldn't overdo the requirements, but certainly don't put them to low. As this will result in autoers which get these 'low' skills aswell. -Make skills requirements variable. So people need random skills. This will result in autoers have to be personally trained. To much work in my opinion.

2k ess craft sell or craft in air -> sell?
Skills earn alot of cash, at lvl 11,22,33,44 etc.. you keep earning MORE money! More more more and faster!.. oh i love it, i still love to craft air runes at lvl 59 runecrafting. It is great money and fast runes if you want to train magic later on. So craft it.

Cheapest construction exp?
I thought the same.. a house is worth it trust me :) Ways to save: -dont buy planks, make them yourself. -You can train with limestone bricks. These cost 21gp ea. Dont know exactly how much experience you can get from them, but they are a pain to gather (construction shop + in morton) -Clay .. but don't bother, its to slow. -If you have high smithing, in the skills room, you can get extra construction and smithing experience if you build armour stands. makes the progress alot cheaper. just a few hints..
