Heres a few other memories from early 2001 that are very nostalgic to me. I remember training on cows in Lumbridge, my first trip to the Wizard's Tower (The skeleton was actually a threat!) since the first quest I ever did was Restless Ghost. All of the holiday drops are fresh in my mind, especially the chaos at the south Falador bank (near where the dwarven mine entrance is now) when the Christmas Crackers were being opened. Plus, who else can forget camping the lesser demons under the Karamja volcano for hours trying to get that elusive rune medium helm?

Now, this is where my longer history with the game comes into play, and why it was originally brought up. You claim that that the ratio of immature players is roughly the same since the Miniclip scandal. I can't answer that for sure, but Runescape existed long before then. If you had been around during those earlier times the disparity between the maturity of players then and now becomes much more evident. Was everybody a saint back then? Heck no, there have and always will be cretins in online games; this is the internet! But still, this is just out of control. And on that final point, I never in any way stated or implied that I wanted respect for the length of my tenure with this game, I believe the above paragraph settles that.

Do you want to respect me for it? That is up to you, don't put words in my mouth. And to reiterate (yet again), I did not make this thread in search of a shoulder to cry on. The degradation of the average Runescaper affects us all; and the aforementioned exchange is one of the best examples I've seen. Please read the entire topic before jumping on the offensive.

Everyone is welcome to their opinion, I'm not going to complain about that. If you feel the right to disagree simply to go against the (up to this point) popular opinion, so be it. I will take that into account while considering your actual reasoning. Constructive criticism is the backbone of a good debate, but damn-near personal attacks and name calling always seem to rear up again. I made the account when I was 13, I'm stuck with the name, get over it, please! Omali makes good points, ignoring such individuals is oftentimes the most supple remedy, but the steady increase in incidents like I originally cited has to be noted (as is the purpose of this thread); it affects us all in the end. As a final note, if you want proof that I started in early 2001, just message me.

Fighting goblins on the dirt path out of Lumbridge. I remember gathering coins and wondering why I couldn't wear goblin armor! This was early 2001, by the way. The few worlds were a combination of regular and PVP.

You don't need to preach me on how to use the interface. My grievance goes much deeper than simply ignoring these people. That doesn't make it go away.

This dialogue just occurred while I was quietly training in The Warrior's Guild: Player: Wow look at that noob with dragon gauntlets Me: ? Player: A level 123 with no skillcape! You fail! Me: No, you fail for caring. Player: Oh really? Me: Yeah, kids like you ruin this game, leave me alone. Player: What a n00b, no 99s? Get a firecape at least to cover up your n00bishness. You're an eyesore to all high levels! Me: I have more important things to worry about than this game. Player: Want me to get my main? We'll see what you say then. He goes and comes back with a level 127 Player: What now no-99 n00b? Me: I never doubted your stats, I doubt your maturity. Player: Oh really? Well you're a n00b, get out of here! Me: You're wasting your time; you're a nuisance. After that point he more or less gave up, but you see what I'm getting at. Why are players so obsessed with having 99s? If you don't, you're worthless. How can anyone logically bash a level 123 under any circumstances? This games difficulty curve is so skewed you don't get any respect unless you've maxed out several skills. Plus the immaturity of players is off the wall. Its sickening. I've been here for nearly 8 years. It was never this bad before. No matter what people say, at least in the past you had definite, clear separation between demographics of players.

I'm almost to my first 99, and I really don't care. I get bashed by idiots all the time because of my level and lack of a skill cape.
