  1. Haha, well I'm glad someone got a laugh out of it.
  2. It'd take about 2 grand for me to part with Poopingman.
  3. Its all in the same vein; modifying words for no reason. Now making unofficial claims that they actually warrant a different meaning? Ditch this.
  4. Hailing from a time when 50 was the highest you ever saw, I feel strange admitting this. With the lessened difficulty curve nowadays, "High" to me is defined by 130+ combat, 2200+ skills, a particular skill over 93ish, and at least 250 quest points.
  5. You have newbs and noobs. Even a maxed person can be a noob. Enough will all of the stupid rules and meanings to alternative spellings. It has, and always will mean one thing: Someone new to a game. No matter how many people sully its original meaning with their "L33t Speak".
  6. Pokemon. I was in 6th grade when the little yellow Pikachu toy came out and the craze erupted. I still have my huge binder of cards. I went to tournaments at local card shops, conventions, etc. Even tournaments for the original game. Good times
  7. Sure, I'll play 1. What is your job? My dayjob is an IT guy at my local library. I sit on a computer all day and show ignorant people how to use a mouse. By night, I work at a Designated Driver company. Which is like a taxi, but I drive you in your car. 2. Do you have any nicknames? Not in real life. 3. What famous celebrity/fictional character do you look like? I look pretty unique, I cannot attribute myself with any celebrity. 4. What famous celebrity/fictional character do you want to most look like? Probably Dante from Devil May Cry. 5. What are you most proud of in life? So far, my ascension from an out of shape amorphous blob to to being fit. 6. What do you regret most in life? Not playing sports/enjoying Middle/High School to its fullest 7. Pancakes or waffles? Waffles 8. Favorite cookie flavor? Peanut butter / chocolate chip 9. What is the most expensive thing you have bought? Transmission for my car 10. What is the most expensive thing you have broken? My car 11. What is the funniest thing you've seen? Too much to pick a definite winner. 12. What's your dream meal (appetizer, entree, and dessert)? I eat everything. 13. If you could go back in time, what year would you go to and why? For some reason, I want to re-live the 80s. 14. Pizza, yeeeeeeaaaaahhhh or naaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh? yeeeeeeaaaaahhhh
  8. First off, nobody with a 99 is a noob in any sense of the word. However, a firemaking cape is quite an anomaly. On one end, I want to think that most people who obtain them just get it as an easy route to a 99. On the other side, getting 99 in a skill with virtually no profit can be testing. I just don't know what to think. :x
  9. Good rant. I hate this too. I'm not dishing out 500k more just to have legs. If you think less of me for not wasting my money, then nothing else needs be said. You're an idiot.
  10. No such thing as random in a computer game. Whatever you say. :? Random, as in, a lack of order, purpose, cause, or predictability. Utterly impossible to produce in a computer, as it a logical system; the only thing that can achieve close to that is something like a thermal noise measurement, which is not in and of itself a part of the computer system. A computer cannot produce a random number, period.
  11. Its not safe for your shoulders. And just because someone can do 40 pullups doesn't mean much. When you are a twig and have barely any weight to actually pull up, its easy.
  12. Definitely one of the best quests. It was exciting, culminating to that final dash to the well in front of Iban. I barely made it..even at my level.
  13. No such thing as random in a computer game. Whatever you say. :?
  14. I'm not going to argue with every single person who actually runs the game smoothly. I don't consider someone with an aftermarket graphics card a realistic representation of your average user. Reiterating my original point: Runescape should run smoother, considering its graphics.
  15. Its all random, just keep at it.
  16. Quest cape is a good idea, in my eyes. There are tons of quests now, and the list grows all the time. Doing them all is quite an accomplishment, albeit not nearly as difficult as grinding a skill to 99. Even so, as long as people don't get too cocky with a quest cape, all is well.
  17. Poopingman replied to TheDayRsDied's topic in Rants
How can anyone, under any circumstances, call someone with a skill cape a noob? The word has lost its meaning entirely.
  18. Runescape music? Probably "The Route of all Evil" Otherwise, metal does the trick.
  19. Definitely not, that would be it for me. I don't have time to No-life my way back to respectability.
  20. What? It requires a very poor system to run compared to the quality of the graphics. Requirements are one thing, actually running smoothly is another. I've owned three computers since 2001 and have never enjoyed Runescape running anything better than "modestly". All high-end machines. Tried swapping graphics cards, nothing. Then thought it was Java settings, nothing. I run 17 brand new HP computers at the library I work at. Kids come in and play Runescape all the time. The best they can handle is high-detail (small), and even that is compromising a lot. Well, most people can run it easily with full graphics. I'm not going to repeat everything I just said, sorry.

  22. I don't get the griping about the graphics update. Sure, it is far too system-demanding for how it looks, but Runescape has and always will be. At least you have the option of playing with standard detail, your argument would be valid if you didn't have a choice but to run HD.
  23. Bye bye troll.
  24. Dodge Stealth turbo
  25. Sadly, your others' respect towards you is instantly dictated (At least in the short term..) by your combat level. In a decade of online gaming, I have found this repeat itself in all facets of online communities. Taking Runescape, for example, we can break it down a bit more specifically. As the game has evolved, the difficulty curve was severely lessened. In older, perhaps better times, you could strike up conversation with a level 100+ with a full expectation of maturity and knowledge on the other end. Nowadays? I see level 110+ players talking (and acting) in manners that would befit a n00b. Even asking obvious questions, driving home the fact that obtaining a high combat level has become a bit too easy. As such, any self-thinking Runescaper should not respect a player due to their combat level, its just too complicated a calculation nowadays for that to be a accurate reflection of anything more than a modest amount of time invested.
