to be honest ranged in f2p doesn't really need anything new... it's already better than mage and melee. I'm happy with this year so far... they finally gave pkers a pretty solid replacement of the old wild, just because that doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it isn't important. pking is very important to the runescape economy.

grrr no fair! I was following them in varrock but never got cracked =(. It happened in the middle of varrock on world 1 or 2... i don't remember which it was, but it was a crrrrowded world. There were so many people in varrock i was lagging like a mofo. You could see so many people trying to unload their p hats. The pink had made it up to around 15 mill which at the time was a pretty hefty chunk of change, it took the p hat market quite awhile to recover from the dupe.

I don't know why this event gets talked about so much... it isn't anywhere near the same scale as the p hat dupe was. If anything was the 911 of runescape it was the p hat dupe. It forever changed the game... making the pink (now purple) p hat the least expensive and most common and making the blue p hat the most expensive and most rare.

There were openly available clients that allowed the same thing on a smaller scale. Most people used small armies of level 3's to mine and then they would trade it over to their main. This client that was openly available could handle 15-20 accounts depending on computer specs... the annoying thing was that if you wanted to run multiple clients you had to make "virtual computers"

i've gotten 60-99 ranged on one account entirely at fire giants and never got a d med drop. i've gotten 60-85 ranged on another account entirely at fire giants and never got a d med drop. And as far as the half shield drop... any monster that drops gems has a chance to drop one... and well i've killed countless numbers of those.

this is so stupid... they determined years ago that ss wasn't a danger to them whatsoever... last time all ss had to do to become "legal" was to remove direct links to specific servers. ss doesn't change or even interact with the code of the actual game, it's really just a client within a client... I guess they figured since people are pking again they wanted to annoy pkers again by making the fastest way of looking someone up illegal :roll:

It's simply a matter of statistics. it's also a simple matter of statistics that some people are just effing lucky. i've played since 01 and have to this day, only gotten 1 dragon med drop and have never gotten a half shield or d chain drop.

I just don't add them, or add them and not talk to them very much and then delete them. i'm 20 years old and have played since back in the day off and on... all of my rsc friends have quit and none of my rl friends play anymore. Being 20 years old I just don't have very much in common with the average scaper anymore, and I find middle-school and even some high school humor pretty annoying now... i guess you could say i grew out of making friends on runescape. I had my friends list full back when i was 14-15 but eh, I just don't have much in common with middle schoolers and high schoolers these days.

1 def pures are still very good these days, in their own niche. And especially free version where no one competent uses def anyway. Range tanks are the only real viable defence based pking build at mid/mid-high levels and they don't really start to come into their own until around 80 combat.

Fine, i'll change my comment from an absolute, to being HIGHLY unlikely. Jagex has had their current macro detection systems in place since around late 05 to early 06. Jagex's system detects trends and flags those accounts, the accounts are then looked at by people trained to determine whether someone is macroing or not.. someone getting falsely banned for macroing is highly unlikely. Current scripts don't have to be perfect, far from it. They only have to be good enough to avoid being flagged by jagex's system, which really isn't very hard. Scripts use variable timing in order to avoid a noticeable trend... while complete randomness probably isn't possible current scripts are certainly capable of being random enough to avoid being flagged by the system... even if you are macroing extremely blatantly... as in 20+ hours with a non variable script the account won't be banned for close to 2 weeks. I've had my fair share of test accounts to test out jagex's detection system. I've had 3 accounts make it to 85 mining banking iron ore the whole way before getting banned... if you use a more random script and put in log out functions, it is pretty easy to get away with macroing... in fact i've done it on my friend's pure.

lmfao, no one gets falsely banned because of people reporting them as a macroer anymore... that hasn't happened since back in 04. they can tell the difference between someone actually macroing and someone just not responding. Anyone telling you they are innocent is just trying to avoid the embarrassment that goes with being a caught autoer. And no, not all bots get banned... only the truly blatant ones get perm banned. hell, I macroed one of my friends pures to from 80-94 magic without even taking very many breaks to reduce suspicion and you can clearly look up "illlinois" he's still not banned, and i macroed his magic about a year and a half ago.

honestly, i've never had to run. I rarely lose a fight, and if I do lose a fight it's because I got ko'd. sure tanks are overpowered at our level, but that is also why so few tank fights end up with someone running... more often than not someone gets ko'd. I see a lot of meleers our level pking on world 65. I have nothing against someone eating at 35 hp, hell I generally stay above 40 when fighting another ranged tank. it sounds like you fought some scrubs who called you safing just because you don't let them ko you, just letting you know we aren't all like that. I don't really harbor any ill will against you, your name just stood out because i remember you trying to rush me 3 times one day after i asked you to either fair fight or stop wasting my food.

i've had a level 3 clue from green drags, dropped it. then the next green drag i killed dropped a level 3 clue.

I just said I don't care even if you do safe. rangers risk much more than 60k, a well equiped ranger is risking 200-250k. I have friends who melee at that level that get a decent number of kills. I must have seen you all 3 hours you've played on your pure then, because i saw you playing on him 3 days in a row. i'm not suggesting you give them your armor for free... but pking isn't about the gp. I never mentioned honor, i merely stated that being more respectful will get you alot more "fair fights"... I see quite a few melee-ers at our level on a daily basis... i'm sure if you asked them for a fight they would oblige you, you don't only have to fight tanks. While i'm not going to call anyone out for running or ring of lifing, it is annoying... but i understand that if they're that paranoid of losing their items then so be it, its in the game they can use them. But it's a respect issue, I respect people that I fight so I don't run and i don't ring of life and the same respect is usually showed towards me. However, part of that may be due to the fact that i'm a tank and tanks generally KO before anyone gets a chance to run.

technically you're wrong. if you have higher than 147 att and str then your combat level is formulated by melee, not ranged.

well, my tank is 58 def 78 hp 52 prayer 89 ranged at level 83. so for you, i would say get your ranged at least to 90... my ranged is already pretty low for most pkers at level 83 because of my 58 def.

If all of you guys only knew... you have no idea what is going on behind your backs... how much longer will you stay blind and ignorant of this.. So, now that you have our attention, fill us in! more people bot than you would think. The scripts are fairly complex and easy to get a hold of. As long as the botter takes certain precautions it is highly unlikely jagex's system will detect them botting. Even if they are detected as long as it is their first offence jagex usually only temp bans them for a week or so. I forgot the forumula but its something like you can get caught twice and not be perm banned. If you are caught for autoing once then jagex flags your account and they take a closer look at what you do.

which time are you talking about that tip.it's database was hacked? One of the earlier times or the last time that was a major deal where they redid the forums and we all had to re-register?
