  1. Hated it, my main obstacle to learning languages was how verbs change in different situations, for Chinese, it's relatively simpler than English (no irregular verbs at least), and much simpler to say the like Russian or German.
  2. This really surprises me, You have made full Tetsu without the help of Whaler, yet you haven't finished upgrading your buildings? I upgraded my workshop right after I upgraded my bar, before I upgraded my Warehouse, and long before I finished any armors.. I left the shipwright and Lodgings to the very last, and purely because I wanted full port score. The extra XP from workshop is probably the best thing to upgrade for benefit outside of ports, since most other things only affect things inside the port.
  3. Well, here is my take: I bought spins twice, and they were only for the Weekend/Week and a half promotions that I really want to complete (although one of them was, in the hindsight, a really compulsive and foolish buy for me), but other than that I really try to avoid buying Spins whenever I can, it's really bad money to rewards ratio, and I don't like SoF to begin with anyway. I bought Runecoins once, purely for the bank spaces. I have a slight OCD when it comes to hoarding some strange items. Then I bought gold members back last year so another stash of Runecoins then. With bonds in game atm, I see myself going to spend less money on the game and more in game GP, especially considering that I think bond to rune coin ratio is actually quite good.
  4. Over 800 years of membership has been redeemed via Bonds.800 Years x 52 (week/year) / 2 (week/bond) = 20800 bonds redeemed for membership. Over 3,000,000 RuneCoins have been redeemed via Bonds.3,000,000 / 160 (runecoins/bond) = 18750 bonds redeemed for runecoins. So we know at least 40k bonds have been redeemed on the first week. The number of bonds bought is definitely higher, once you account for bonds (1) redeemed for runefest tickets, (2) spins, (3) unredeemed bonds in circulation. JaGeX probably sold about 60~80k bonds in the first week, that's £180k~250k in additional revenue. For comparison, JaGeX generated £53m in revenue for 2012. More important than the straight number of bonds sold, though, is what the bonds are redeemed for. After all, bonds redeemed for membership for existing members simply changed whose paying for membership, that's not a new income for JaGeX at all. It might mean JaGeX gets paid earlier, but their overall income stays the same. Only the portion of membership bonds that converts free players to members actually translates to actual new revenue. On the other hand, most bonds redeemed for runecoins/spins are effectively free money for JaGeX. Or rather, those are money that the players won't have otherwise spent without bonds. Having so much bonds traded for runecoins is probably a huge sigh of relief for JaGeX. I'd say that its mostly due to the more favourable exchange rates of runecoins per bond (IMHO, 160 runecoins for 6m is quite a fair exchange exchange rate).
  5. What else were you going to use the resources anyway? It's not as if there is any real practical use for them, may as well get some XP out of it.
  6. As long as the geyser finding FC exists, the pieces will take at most 30 minutes (it took me ~20 to get all 4, and that is after missing 3 geysers due to not hopping in time). So gilding the pickaxe will most definitely take the longest, I already had the axe gilded from Pre-eoc days, so I was saved on that trouble, but I do remember I spent over 6 hours to get mine (no pun intended). Then I got 2 nymphs at the lava flow waiting on the geysers before I found out about the FC... Gonna try my luck at the battlefield later, could do with 2 DIY'ed pickaxes, I think it's time I dragonised my Toolbelt. Also: the the new Dragon Weapons are Thrown Axes, Battlestaff and Warhammers (both axes and war hammers come in dual wield variants). The Staff is sold in the weapons shop north of the Bank, 200k each. The Warhammers are sold in the Weapon shop in the Palace, 200k per MH, 50k per OH [hide] Where you went to find Vigr's relationship with the Red Axe, his replacement merchant stocks them [/hide] The Thrown Axes are from Chaos Giants, have both hand versions too. Of those, I think Dragon Battlestaff looks the best. For the final fight(s) [hide] For the Veldabim vs Grimsom fight, for me it was basically a DPS race, I killed Grimsom before he threw Veld a second time. When he holds Veld, stop attacking, as any attacks you do to him will result in Veld taking the damage instead. After holding him for a little, he will throw veld at you, dealing 7500 damage to Veld and 2500 damage to you. I have not figured out how to avoid that damage, but I just tanked it because Grimsom does no damage to you at all otherwise. You will lose the fight if Veld's health is depleted, and his attacks will become more vicious. At the start of the Chaos fight, I managed to trap Hreidmar behind one of the torches, one of his cannoneers behind another and the last behind the stairs, while I attacked Grimsom, Hreidmar does not seem to use any of his specials while he isn't attacking you. Once Grimsom started to charge at me, I ran to just at the entrance into the small alcove that leads to the door, and then into the small alcove (only 1 square in). I remember that I luckily had Grimsom stuck behind Hreidmar, so I ended up killing him without spending too much food. Once Grimsom falls, Hreidmar was just a tank and spank and eat. Note, I was using Asc's for this fight, so experience may differ. Chaos Hreidmar seems to have the following moves: 1. He will teleport in 2 cannoneers relatively early in the fight, then 2 chaos dwarves somewhere down the line. 2. He will also randomly switch placess with another chaos dwarf, and resulting in your focus changing to the chaos dwarf. When he does that, his target location will be cover in dark red cloud. 3. He will also randomly detonate one of his chaos dwarves, dealing 5000 damage to it and 2500 damage to you (I think). 4. The game will mention a message that he is charging up to power up his chaos dwarves, do damage to him until he stops. I have not managed to do that after target switching, so I think it's a very good idea to make sure you seperate the two chaos dwarves. You will interrupt him after dealing I think 4k damage. 5. he game will mention a message that he is charging up to heal his chaos dwarves. This one is weird, I do not get a message that I interrupted his power, but I haven't seen him heal anyone, so it might be the case that I still interrupted it, but the game doesn't show a message. [/hide]
  7. I'd say it consumes it, it'd be far too cheap to have it cloned. Pick cannot be dissassembled as far as I can see. (I assembled the pick myself, fc helped tremendously, although geysers literally have average lifespans of seconds, quick hop to the wrong section of the maze and it'll be gone by the time it dies). You only need to hit the pick once on the geyser to get the part. That gets me thinking, perhaps geyser tracking fc would be epic mining xp? you get 1k per hit on the first hit and 500 per hit there after.
  8. The difference between the speed with regards to ability damage is ~1% at very best, worth releasing two different speed but otherwise identical weapons? No. I also forgot to mention, the last time I tested it, power armor do not add damage correctly to 2h. It only adds 1x the power armor damage, where it should have been x1.5, as it is for Dual wield. Lastly, only Melee has an ability with the word Auto attack in its text, for Ranged and Magic it doesn't exist.
  9. The only thing you can really do now is probably horde the keystones until the release, then do the Legios. Also in order to profit from the Legios, you really need to finish the Asc crossbow, or else it'll be wasted money (unless you sell the keystones, but it would be counterproductive). The Signets are untradeable on their own.
  10. Poor phrasing. I should not have written it's completely useless Faster weapon have faster auto attack, therefore faster tagging response than a slower weapon, but it is of no use outside of that (IE speed, and thus the resulting weapon damage on the description of the weapon, is useless to compare two weapons with)... My apologies
  11. Because speed stat is a completely useless statistic in EoC. There are already two types of bows, Shortbow and Longbow, would have been quite logical to have 1 act as DPS weapon and the other as a Tank weapon, seeing how Bows are all two handed. If we had Shortbow and Longbow both do damage, and Longbow is, as you say, Ranged Equivalent of Maul, then Longbow would literally be useless because shortbow would beat it in every way possible except under the rare circumstance where you want your first auto attack on the target to be higher than normal. For target switching the slower the weapon it is, the worse off it is. Long story short (no pun intended), it is utterly pointless in EoC to have 2 different DPS weapons differing only in speed, because ultimately only the faster weapon will be used, while the slower weapon will most likely be forgotten. May as well make it a shield bow, so it has some sort of variety, no matter how useless. (I am comparing something that is nearly useless, to something which is completely useless). The fact Maul is famous is purely because it is literally the only 2h weapon t80 melee weapon in the game, which made it best Melee weapon in the game purely because back then DW sucked, even for Drygores. After DW fix, Maul has nearly nothing over Chaotic Claws apart from the long term upkeep. Speed has nothing to do with it whatsoever.
  12. There is no mention of if Sirenic will degrade at all (although it is wishful thinking, it'll probably incur a repair cost.) Though I'd say it's either Tectonic or Ganodermic like degrade mechanism.
  13. Crystal Bow Zaryte Bow is also a Shortbow.
  14. Or... they spilled coffee, but Janitor called in sick, so they had to wait until then to get it cleaned up. Perhaps... :P
  15. If you dont want to chat, hit enter repeatedly until you are back to the same chat screen (it cycles through chatting, quick chat options and back), that also fixed it for me. One more thing, there is either something wrong with magic abilities and prayers on the same action bar, or there is something wrong with bar #3, but it's causing my prayers on that bar completely and utterly dead (works perfectly for melee and ranged), and I have found no fixes for that.
  16. One can only speculate, and speculation would lead to these silly suggestions. Perhaps someone spilled coffee? Hardware upgrade? Behind the scenes fixes? Or mods going "f this, we are taking 4h break!"
  17. Despite the optimism, I doubt that will happen, unless they drastically change how Asc and Seismics are dropped, I dont think a simple armor set is going to balance something that is prices in a 1:4:20 ratio. The new armour (if it doesnt crumble to dust) dropping from asc could certainly help level ascension to drygore, but seismics will of course remain ridiculously overpriced until such a time as Tectonic stops crumbling to dust to make it a bit more desirable to the average scaper and that drop tables get a serious bolster so that you aren't tied in to needing a team that stays together for days or weeks of Vorago kills for lootshare/rare drops to give everyone a reasonable payout. How? From the increased amount of Ascensions available in the game? Plausible but I think ultimately unlikely. If I were to farm asc just for Sirenic armor, I would do the Legios that have the cheapest keys (for example Secundus, Tertius, Quartus and Sextus), which does not really help having more ascensions into the game. Of course, there will be more people farming for the Legios, but if Asc is level with Drygore in terms of pure damage, then I'd imagine it will drive the demand of Ascensions up, keeping the price afloat for a while at least. I personally think if that is the case, then Ascensions will be better than drygores because of its range, even though most of the monsters in the game are Melee. Besides, Drygores are currently around 130m a pair, while asc are over 450m for a pair (225M each, since MH and OH are essentially the same item). Ascensions would need to fall below 100m each before there is any hope of that. With the prices of Keystones, and the probably increased in demand for the keys due to sirenic armor, I don't see that happening anytime soon, short of a complete overhaul of the Ascension Monastery mechanics. Of course, these are what I am seeing, I certainly would not mind ascensions falling to around Drygore level in price, even though I do own a pair. I'd like to see Ascensions to be a more practical weapon rather than prestige/wealth weapons. PS. This post is based on the interpretation that leveling Drygores with Ascensions means pricewise, not practical wise.
  18. Despite the optimism, I doubt that will happen, unless they drastically change how Asc and Seismics are dropped, I dont think a simple armor set is going to balance something that is prices in a 1:4:20 ratio.
  19. Thought clan avatars automatically return after 6 hours of being taken out, regardless of circumstances?
  20. Did you try relogging? You only get a daily challenge if you logged in after the daily reset. I am not in game atm, and won't be for at least 10 hours, so I can't confirm
  21. he probably meant the normal challenges, not the super challenges?
  22. Did them for the loyalty points, xp bonus was a very distant second on my agenda
