  1. I've been plating them always with herbs. Only supercompost and the dying rate is prob like 1 in 8-10 or sth. So yea, while you're at it anyway plant them.
  2. Cannon the strykes. They are actually not half bad xp if you cannon + piety.
  3. Ok thanks for that. I don't do minigames, so not gonna happen. CoG was pretty quick only used like 2600 bloods 4 80 steel drags.
  4. Fairly straight forward question. I enjoy slayer, and I enjoy metal dragons cause they are fairly relaxed mage xp. I got claws of guthix from the mage arena, and I can also cast water surge. When mageing I always pray mage as well. SO which is more efficient in terms of killing speed, mage xp and cost? Also bonus question - if it is claws of guthix, how often should I recharge?
  5. +1 No need to be a hater. I just love how every time efficiency comes into play, there is the one guy who says if you're efficient your not having fun i.e. - you're doing it wrong. Updated advice > old advice
  6. Just slayer Cannoning black demons, fire giants, dags black demons safespot and use rune darts while cannoning, fire giants just tank with rune darts + cannon, dags cannon + melee Greater demons - tank with rune darts. For tanking, use regular ranged gear with a bunyip, you don't really need food. Optional ranging - blue drags, gargs I probably forgot something but whatever. Always use rune darts or throwing knives, it is worth the time saved. And train while slaying, the xp stacks up really fast if you tank range almost every task with darts.
  7. Use an SoL. Battle robes are debateable. If you have the spare tokens to recharge them or have a fetish for FoG then use them. If not and you value your time as more than the amount of money saved then no, don't use them. Ahrims is the better option imo as I value my time at over 2 mil an hour and I hate FoG. Yeah, I don't do minigames, so no battle robes. No way that's gonna be happening :D Thanks a lot for your help! So Ahrims, SOL and a [cabbage]load of runes, great! I'll get at it as soon as I get my slayer to 95. I might be able to bump my summoning over 90+ with the charms. Sweet!
  8. Yeah, but I will need the summoning xp in th end any way, so barraging sounds good. Btw bonus question, will a SOL save a significant amount on runes spent or not?
  9. Yeah, gonna work on summoning after mage 95. Ok, so if no other great ideas, then I'm gonna go with barraging. So by my calculations I'm looking at: 4,75 mil left to mage 95 so at 167k xp per hour ~28,5?! Hours of barraging 1k casts is around 260k xp so need about 18,5k smoke barrage casts around 2,5k gp/cast so 18,5 x 2,5 = 46,25 M all together? Am I missing something or does that sound about right? If that is correct, then the thing that bothers me with this is the 28 hours..
  10. I got summoning banked till 87ish or sth. I just don't see the need for summoning really before Yaks. So pretty much, which ever way you cut it, quickest way would be bursting/barraging? As I always have the need for charms I should just start bursting or barraging rocks. Any
  11. Hello! Haven't been on RS for a while again need some quick advice. Mage 87 atm, need 95 as soon as possible. SO - how would you recommend? I am a huge fan of efficiency, so I need 95 for slaying ice strykers better so I just want to bump mage up to 95 and be over with it. Money is not an issue. I'd like 2 suggstions: One for combat related - e.g any slayer monsters I could do efficiently with mage? and Secondly not combat related And if you have any estimates, how many hours I'd be doing that would be a nice bonus. :)
  12. If you're not bursting or barraging in CT then do not mage slay. (With your melee stats your only exception would be Ice Strykewyrms with fire surge once you hit the mage lvl) Mage slaying is too slow xp, I was considering doing that myself too, tried, not worth the slow xp, rather go burst/barrage for charms once you hit your goal slay lvl. Piety everything, at your def with veracs skirt and prossy top + Uni there is no good reason for you not to piety every task. I tried pietying only a select few tasks...it's like slow mode I don't know how you can do that anyway. Otherwise it seems youäre doing just fine. BTW! I enjoy using spec restores with claws, for abbys I'll bring a BOB with 5-8 sharks, 12-16 spec restores, super att, strs the rest pray pots and then just spec like hell (every 2 or 3rd abby). Makes quick work for the abbys and personally, I just love the claw spec. - Fun!
  13. +1 for farming guide on AOW, it has everything you ever wanted to know about farming. I used it to get mine up from 1 to where I am now pretty quickly. If you do the runs how they're outlined there, you probably will get hooked on farming just like I did. Personally, I would advice herbs, and limps as soon as you get to limpwurts (27?) do trees if they don't beak your bank but always plant the highest fruit trees you can up to pineapples at least - they're low maintanance, only replant them once a day. ALso, check out which quests you haven't done that you can and will give farming xp, I despise quests myself but I did some that gave farming xp and I bumped my lvl up from 1 to around 35ish just by planting and questing pretty quickly. I never planted on allotments cause it seemed like such a waste for such low xp. But doing the best herb runs + limps, fruit trees and questing for farming xp you should be able to bump your farming to 57 in a week max. Good luck!
  14. Actually spec restores have their use when you slay and have claws. I use them a lot when I go out slaying with claws. But yeah, super energies are your best bet going fr herb 85 for xp/gp ratio. I did that as well, and they sell fairly quickly.
  15. screw smithing - a totally useless skill just a total lvl. I admit, it is nice but with herbing you can actually do something with it later. Smithing was a good skill to have when we were in RSC and the r2h just came out.... now it's pretty much an obsolete skill which you only use for making darts, kinves etc. But with herbing lvl 80+ you can really benefit from it.
  16. Herblore 85+ will do you way more good than a chaotic weapon. IMO, if you really hate dungeoning, but wanna lvl quickly in slayer: veracs and prossy for pietying, dharok/Torag for melee tasks (not a whole lot of use for it though cause mostly you'll be pietying anyway). Lots of cannonballs, at least extreme pots, preferably overloads and piety every single task which you can not cannon. Get prayer up as high as you can, you seem to have the cash anyhow. I know for personal experience that if you don't want to dungeoneer you can still be a lot more effective with your reg weapons than a chaotic weapon. Whip + piety > any chaotic weapon, any day - any time - any position and doesn't take long at all. ' Of course a chaotic weapon with piety will give you quicker kills and stuff, but that's only if you're willing to spend a [cabbage]load of hours at the dungeoneering place. I am fairly certain that with cannoning and pietying every task you will lvl your slayer into high 90's way quicker than it would take you to get the chaotic weapons. Personally, I am 550k from slayer 95, and there's no way i'm gonna invest any of time into dungeoning for the chaotic weapon, if you piety or turmoil it doesn't make such a big difference.
  17. If you don't have scroll of life I'd reccomend snaps at trollheim and avantoe or ranarr at regular patches + limps at flower patches and always picking spines from your cactus at Al Kharid. = best cash per run Ranarr seeds are cheap as dirt atm, well i bought 400 seeds at like 19k each couple of days ago and now you'll get them at 14k each. SO if you use pray pots for yourself as well, like I do for slaying then ranarrs would be your best without a scroll of life.
  18. Get 85 for sure, I did it a couple of days ago and it is indeed AWESOME. Stew to super atts and strs, and killing dragons wit 2h weapons is really sweet. Cost to 85 herblore - 60M, SS- 8M, 2 hitting blue dragons -Priceless. :D
  19. Thnx for the help! k, the only real option for me here seems to be starting to lend out stuff, no way in hell I'm gonna spend my time on G.E. trading stuff... no thank you sir, not gonna happen :P I do have 1 more question though, how does an item like Raw Beast meat, rise in price for so long, even though no-ne is trading them (now it's been dropping but the price has gone up 1200% in the last 180 days) And the opposite was true for the black uni mask I had, no one bought any and it was dropping in price all the time. howcome?
  20. Okay, so my question is pretty much in the headline. To explain it in a little more detail: due to my affectionate love/borderline insanity for slayer I don't really know what goes on outside the battlefields, so junk trading is a big no-no for me. However.... I did lately obtain like 2k raw beast meat (not due to my awesome hunting skills obviously) and I have a some other 1 mil worth of junk. Altogether probably anywhere between 5-6 mil, so my question is how on earth do I get rid of it? I don't do rare trading/investing, my bigger purchases are better armor etc for better slaying so is there a way, that doesn't take a big chunk of time from me to get rid of the junk I just managed to get or should I just forget it and focus on my slaying? All suggestions would be highly appreciated!
  21. Just grab a whip, it's better. they have such low def that a whip will cut through their robes like a hot knife through butter.
  22. If you have leftover fighting familiar pouches you can grab 2 of them and a summoning potion as well. It doesn't speed up the task by a whole lot, but always helpful. :)
  23. Alright, besides the stereotyping I also see that some ppl are constantly saying that they get flamed in RS for not having the best gear possible?! How on earth do you get flamed at or where? Really, I certainly don't have the best gear (with my verac's skirt, prossy top, regen bracelet, dragom boots for pietying for example) but I have never ever been flamed at, and trust me I've put in some game time since the last bonus xp (16,4 mil xp) - besides some pray and herb lvls it's all been into slaying and it's byproducts. And if you do get flamed at, why don't you use the very handy feature of RS to either block the person or turn chat off altogether. Me personally, I have 4 ppl on my firends list, out of whom I talk with 1, because the others don't play anymore. On my IGNORE list however I have 200+ ppl. NOT listening to stupid immature [developmentally delayed]s is more efficient than getting flamed at Efficiency ftw!
  24. I am a big fan of efficiency. For me it is fun to squeeze as much xp/h out of slayer that I possibly can. Now I am not gonna go and make money specifically for that but I will piety and extreme pot every task. Heck if I could squeeze just 5k more xp/h out of my current ability I would be even happier. :D I do think that everybody should play the game they way they want to and not push their styles on others. Everybody should just enjoy themselves and for me personally getting max xp/h is a lot more fun than investing on G.E. or having 100M in my bank.
