  1. Just did this quicky. It doesn't really match the other bits because I saved it as a PNG instead of a JPG. Colored the skin, eyes, and hair. I think it looks better without all the pencil.
  2. NIce try but you're going to have to do more shading to get a higher rating. OK idea but color choice.... *looks again* MY EYES!!!! OMG USE OFF PALETTE COLORS!!!!! *runs and grabs a pair of sunglasses* Aaaaah that's better. Anyways try to use the custom color option in paint. Choose colors lower down on the scale that have more grey in them so they don't contrast too much and cause people blindness. :?
  3. Obvious anatomy problems but IMO they work towards your style instead of against it. :) Only major problem is the spear. :? Love the idea for the border though. 7/10
  4. They both look good but you seem kinda confused asto where the light source is. In the first one the blue and yellow parts are shaded right but the red diamond is wierd :? The frog is good and I like the shading but the BG is kinda wierd. Like god said, try to avoid pillowshading and use shading more to accent details. Only other comment I'll make is that you seem to have used mostly on palette colors. They work for these pieces but remember to use colors closer to the grey for larger pieces unless you want it to be cartoony.

^^Which is pretty much what you think of everything else. On topic: I like the idea and the render but I think you di too many things to it. By putting so many layers on and maybe even because of the background you chose Samus kinda blends into the BG and is hard to see. I would try to give better C/C but I don't really know how PS works.
  6. Buddies are like ripping another persons work. Even if it's bad there is a lot more respect out there for people who do their own work than those who use buddies. :?
  7. Oooooh dragon claws, nice 8-)
  8. Thanks a lot! Too bad I already wasted an hour of my life doing this in paint with the eraser. :? Still looks cleaner than mine............
  9. Hate to break it to you godslayer but your link isn't working :? It's pretty late here, maybe I'll get started tomorrow.
  10. Cool, I saw something on the news about those guys here in the US. IMO your work looks awesome! It took me a sec to realise it wasn't an enlarged picture.
  11. Lol, I anxiously await the contest.
  12. Last bump, then I'm letting it drop.
  13. Find, drag, and paste is creative?
  14. Behold! The Pirate Gnome!
  15. Better than buddies but I still don't really like the style...... :?
  16. Ok this is for my robotics team if you can't read  Anyways I need to seperate the blask parts from the yellow parts. Unfortunatly I could only scan the logo from my T-shirt. Anyways I assume there must be a faster way to do this in Photoshop but I don't know. Right now I'm just using the eraser in paint :?. Please help me! Warning, it's kinda a big file so be patient while it's loading.
  17. What is it with people and using Paint as an excuse for bad work?!?!?! I use MS Paint and they turn out fine. Probably more important to you Mistersman uses Paint. It's the artist, not the tools he uses.
  18. Yep, glad I could help. I don't remember if they're in the commercial but I added a darker grey so there's an outline and contrast but not too much.
  19. Here's what I got, added the text and changed the size.
  20. Considering both are pretty much the same, I like it. Just remember the iPod commercials, the bodi3es are black with only a few things white. I think you should get rid of the white lines and keep the white shirt.
  21. It looks like you started with a drawing which is really good, a step above what I can do. The whole reason I'm mentioning this is because it looks like the face, hair, and hands haven't been changed from a drawing so the whole things looks kinda messy. Choose either a sketch or a pixel but not both in the same sig. Anyways I like the shading but the studs look kinda like polka dots  . The studs also take away from some of the detail on the upper body. You should try shading the magic bow a bit more to make it look less 2d, unless that's what you're going for of course. Also it looks like it was saved as a JPG of GIF at some point because the quality is kinda messed up. Make sure you always start with a PNG and go with it all the way through. Last comment is the text looks kinda boring. Try going into MS Word and getting a cool font. Then go into paint and outline the words in a darker color. This gives it a cool border and makes it stand out. And speaking of a border, you need one. Nothing too fancy, just 2 or 3 pixels around the image. I think dark red would go well with this sig. So overall: 7/10 Work on shading a bit more Stay all pixel or all drawing Make a border More interesting font Always save as a PNG to preserve quality!
  22. Yeah, anatomy problems inthe drawing is believeable (OMG I can make the most 1337 stick figures!!!!!!). Lol anyways, I understand that I had an advantage with having the reference and everyone else not.
  23. AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGHHHHH! My eyes!!!!!!!! :x Lol, anyways thanks for the C/C and example Godslayer. Took some of your advice and got this: I really noticed what you said about dithering and I tried to use it to blend colors in transition instead of an using it to make an entirely new shade. I can see where you're coming from with the idea of too many colors but I think that's more personal preference and style. Personally I like to use a lot of shades. I tried to do some AA but couldn't manage to get it right, especially around the chin. You also mention anatomical structure. When I did the pixel version, I actually traced over the original reference version that I'd scanned into my computer. I guess that means that the reference person has anatomical issues?
  24. uuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm.......................... This isn't a sig shop. I only said free stuff in reference to work I've already done.
  25. I understand that you did those sigs on request. I honestly think that you have good skills, like I said there are just some bad ideas. I understand that those ideas aren't yours, just letting you know.
