  1. Do you just tank the boss' magic attack, or prayer flash it? He hits through prayer so I tank it and flash mystic might. I do a task of ~110 on two invos. Sometimes one depends on food drops and if I need to bank all the loot.
  2. To counter that, methods have been getting "more op" for 10 years. Let's go back to 76king for bills and brawlers. Half the top page did that. How about ge merching during first year after release? It had no limits whatsoever. Half rs was harping about the death of merching while the other half was pulling in hundreds of mil/day while harldy touching offers. Then before that there was gwd for insane amounts of gp/hour that have never been matched in pvm to this day. All the way back to hunter release, when certain players found out about chinning and hoarded hundreds of millions of red chins for pennies, used what they needed, leaked it to friends, and sold millions of chins for 1000% profit. I can give many more examples going back 10 years. Yes, the scale of the gainz increases (as in the xp/hour just goes up), but my point is it's always been this way. It's almost like Runescape is a regularly updated game Yes Steph, Runescape is updated regularly. Thank you for taking James and my posts and adding such insightful wisdom to the conversation. Anyway James, just thought I'd add that I do agree with you as well. And the unfortunate part of all this is that Jagex has taught us the only thing to do with these op methods that pop is to take advantage of them, asap, to the maximum extent. Because while you're waiting for the nerf others will take full advantage of them for 18 hours/day and they will get miles ahead.

  4. I have always preferred far fewer, very good updates (1-2 a month) as opposed to months with 5-6 mediocre (even bad) updates. I much prefer them making this boss and legacy the absolute best then spending less resources on these so they can give us a few other updates in addition. And a brand new boss is a huge update. So is legacy.
  5. Time to make bank on the panic. On topic, new boss looks awesome, really excited for that. Twitch thing looks really awesome also. Unexpected and pretty shocking for jagex to support offsite software etc like this. I like it though. Love wild life preservation so that's cool to see jagex raise awareness and support like that too.
  6. Forsberg is applauded for being highly efficient in that he takes advantage of every method available to him to get the most xp possible per hour. You may consider it cheating, and that is your opinion and you are free to feel that way. Others applaud Drumgun for doing nearly the exact opposite. He did everything nearly the absolute worst way possible. 200m all combats without slayer. Farming last. not a lot of bxp. Doesn't even use MouseKeys. Drumgun goal was to get 200m all with the most days played. Forsberg was to get there as fast as possible. Some consider drumgun to be idiotic for his method. Others consider Forsberg a cheater. Neither broke any rules, so whichever you think is your opinion and you're free to have it. Either way I'd bet both drum and fors are laughing all the way to the bank, so to speak, about our petty arguments over who is better.
  7. there used to be very reputable friends chats for this, but jagex shuts them down daily now. I think they shut them down to try to stop scamming, but the reality is they only made scamming worse as people have to go to sketchy off sites and such to get this done. They also made the entire process, which they do say is 100% within the rules, much more of a pita and difficult. Anyway, I think current rates are about 1:6-1:8. There are a few chats that have popped back up recently. Other then that, you'll need to go to other sites which I don't think I can name here.
  8. Would it not be better to just do some fly fishing with hawks?
  9. 'Drop' is now the default option on fish caught while barbarian fishing.
  10. Drumgun- (I posted a relevant picture! :P)
  11. so, little did we know inventor has been out for ages. It was just renamed squeal of fortune/treasure hunter.
  12. Use the shop method, convert to scrolls. Think it's like 13k charms/hour at shop. Very rough I'm sure someone here will have more solid numbers for you. idk what kyat is/hour but it's so low compared to shop method that it's asinine to consider anything else. edit- quick google search puts kyat at 3-3.5k/hour. Taverly on the low end is 10k, on the high end 13k iirc. I saved little over 700m converting to scrolls and selling off very slowly at high prices over about 1.5-2 months. I did yaks and moss or w/e the lower blue is, as I did it on a double xp weekend and sold the water talis for bilz
  13. It's outdated for this application because you disagree, imo. I don't care how old a saying is, that doesn't discredit it's validity. You're being greedy imo. You want it to be updated so you can MAYBE (big maybe) get a piece from a clue during the couple months the price is high to make massive profits. Meanwhile all the people that want to enjoy the new look are screwed because 4-5 people own 95% of the market. Not attacking you, just addressing your post the same as you did mine. Anyway, this is a fruitless argument. I know that you personally are very big into cosmetics and outfits on RS. I am not. You don't like the old look, I do. it's a disagreement in opinion and won't go anywhere. Edit- what I will agree with is they should have been a bit more specific in the poll about what they would do to the armour. Many players are still unhappy with what they did to certain other updated gears. If all they wanted was to bring the look into current graphics without completely revamping it (ie, tighter and cleaner), then I may have voted yes along with many others. The "The reworks would be based on the existing armour" part tells me this is possibly what they had planned, but it wasn't very clear. However, imo the whole point of 3a armour is to have it look like it is from a bygone age. Which is why they need to be more specific, as a graphical rework could do the opposite of that.
  14. you should be glad it won't pass. If it was going to pass, every single 3a item would be bought out in excess of 1b each, and that's being conservative for parts of the melee/mage set. I am glad it won't pass. I don't think it looks play dough and I like having the old look without giving Solomon money. IMO it's a "it's not broken, don't break it" kind of thing. (yes that should read "it's not broken, don't fix it" but that's a rare occurance around here lol)
  15. over half those you say didn't use spins have. Some of the others are irrelevant as they don't play/haven't really played since before spins. To add to that, those you've named that have used them are years ahead of the others. They will finish, and quit and be doing god knows what else while the others are still grinding away. I'd really like everyone to stop posting say how they don't care. Prove you don't care by either adding others to ignore list or just not acknowledging their flame/spam post. Quoting the spam to even say "smh" is giving that person exactly what they want; attention.
  16. I do remember that! memories... Heres some pics. Not my oldest, they are on an old laptop before I used photobucket. Here's some from 2007-2009 Five days of drops (bank loot)- 30 hours of slayer (new record on runemonkey :D) who remembers when mithril boots got bought out? cya gertjaars One of my wealthiest times on rs- another 30 hour slayer comp, 883,693 xp. another new record but runetracker was the big site at this time.
  17. You are forgetting two major things. First there are virtually no bots now, and for the past year at least. Second, f2p is no where near as large as it used to be. The second I may be wrong on, but I was under the impression that f2p was scaled back significantly into more of a demo and less of a game. At any rate, f2p was much more popular years ago for sure. You should also keep in mind that a very large portion of those on osrs are playing rs3 at the same time. Your 1/3 ratio of players on osrs to rs3 is probably closer to 1/6. If there are less players, it's not by much. Now, for arguments sake, let's say all your numbers are correct. Even if there are half the players, profits are (unsure of exact figures) probably quadrupled. Runescape is a game to us, but a business to Jagex and it's investors. From a business standpoint, they'd much rather cater to a small percentage of the gaming market for four times the profits. I am making these figures up to illustrate a point; they sell a service for 500% profit to one million people, why lower margins to 200% to gain 500k-1m more members? I am typing this up in a rush, so hopefully I conveyed my point correctly. I personally do not think runescape has died or is in the process of such.
