World War III?
Yeah, that's what I meant, I just got carried away in my state of annoyedness :x I do believe Israel has the basic right of defense, but I don't support the way they've been going about it >.> And I've been looking forward to this trip for ages, I'm not going to cancel it now :D

World War III?
FYI: I do not think this is entirely a religious war... especially on the Israel side. I think that it's a property war on the other side (they want the land) and a defense war on the other side (they want to continue existing.) I think war in general is handled pretty idiotically, and Israel needs to stop the hell killing civilians "accidentally". Yeah, accidentally my butt - the civilian death toll may not have been intentional, but it certainly could have been avoided with a little more care. Israel needs to take more precautions to only hit their target. Lebanon has been an innocent bystander, and has a right to be angry, and now Lebanese civilians are starting to be happy about the idea of going to war with Israel, because Israel has been idiotic towards them! In the end, Israel has only made problems worse! I believe in the Israeli state in theory, but the current Israeli government is far too conservative, war-hungry, and not compassionate - it's as bad as the American government atm. I don't think this will escalate to World War III. Hope not, since I'm going to Israel for two weeks in January, and it would be a shame to die and/or go to a country that no longer exists.

How old were you when you had your first kiss?
I was 16 and at nerd camp. This guy and I bonded over how we were both forum geeks :D I bragged about how I was a moderator on tip.it, which I was impressed he'd heard about. :D Camp ended three days later :P We're still friends though. :D

World of DateCraft - Your Thoughts?
The people who would be attracted to MMO game dating are... surprise... already playing MMORPGs. The people who are interested in not having to deal with real-life interactions to get a date, are already using online dating sites. There is some overlap, but it's certainly not ideal, I'd guess. I doubt it will work or that it will attract the sort of demographic they're hoping to attract.

Post intelligent opinions on "emo" and "goth
From what I can tell, the terms "emo" and "goth" are being used as talking about members of a subculture - a subculture that often has little relation to the "emo" or "gothic" music. I know plenty of people who love Gothic Metal (i.e. Nightwish, Within Temptation) or emo (ehh... actually, I can't give examples, don't know this genre so well :D) that are perfectly well-adjusted. I think that society fails to create a proper distinction between the CHARACTER STEREOTYPE and the MUSIC GENRE in assigning these "words" (depending on your linguistic perspective ;)) to both meanings.

Life Question
It doesn't sound like he's jumping to conclusions. Maybe I'm missing something, but there was one important thing I was confused about: are your parents officially separated? i.e. your dad isn't lying to your mom about dating another woman - he is doing it honestly and not "cheating" on her? If this is the case (that your dad is being honest and your parents are officially separated), then I think you should at least try to be civil. I don't think you're being unreasonable; your reaction is a perfectly normal one to have. But if she's going to be around for a while, there's no point in being miserable the whole time. It sucks, but she's probably nice deep down, your dad has the right to date other people, and accepting it now will prevent a lot of (understandable but kind of unjustified) resentment later on.

What is the greatest sin?
That's debatable. If a mom just gave birth to a child and was so upset about how her life would be changed to commit suicide, she'd be hurting the baby. Not emotionally, but the baby wouldn't have as good a life. In other situations suicide hurts plenty of people emotionally though. I mean if I were to commit suicide I'd practically ruin the lives of my parents and my close friends and family would be completely devasted, so I think as irresponsible commiting suicide is to your own life, it messes with tons of other lives too. That's a decent point, and I retract that specific argument. Ultimately, however, I still believe that a person should have control over his own life at the very least - and that other friends and family and enemies should accept it as his decision, though they may be internally devastated by it. I think it's someone's right to commit suicide, as it is his right to live. Where do these rights come from? :P Heh - guess it's just a belief I identify with :P :D

But wouldnt murder be worse? Sinning yourself or sinning others? I would think sinning others would be worse because...its not your life. murder muder = disrepecting them as a person, and hate for them.. suicude = disrepescting yourself, and what god gave you... need i explain more? Surely murder is also disrespecting God's creation, another life. Disrespecting any human life (which, from your opinion, God gave) is surely just as immoral, unless you get into the whole "which person is worth more than another? :D" game. I believe that if someone finds their life so bad that it's not worth living... no one ought to force them to keep living. If they're only suffering, let them put themselves out of their misery. They're not hurting anyone else - only helping (or what they think is helping) themselves. And no one ought to force them not to commit suicide, if it's what they really want. Try to convince them, that's good... but not force, as it should be their choice, as each person should at least have control (or the semblance of control) over their own life. From a Christian perspective, I guess I would explain it by pitying and loving the man who is beneath you.

What is the greatest sin?
Wise words. Believe what you believe... like I said, I consider trying to be honest with yourself the most important thing. So whatever you identify with (beliefs, opinions, life plans, gender, religion, sexuality, etc.) you should just accept and go with, and not worry to death about whether it's the "right" identity. If you believe in God, awesome. If you were born a biological male but believe you're really female, awesome. If you think eating doughnuts is wrong and immoral, awesome... just don't impose your self-identity onto other people. (Especially the doughnut thing, onto me. I really like doughnuts :D)

kelem_ryu, you sound like a really interesting person :D

What is the greatest sin?
It depends in what sense you mean... the worst sin in my personal system of morality, or in my practical system of morality. a) not trying to be honest to yourself B) murder.. though the specific definition of the word can get sticky :D

Toothpaste...
The most important thing is to get flouride in your teeth while you're growing up as a kid. If you do that, then your teeth are stronger for the rest of your life. You can get flouride as a kid by living in a place where they have it in the water supply, or by taking vitamins as a kid, etc. Brushing your teeth doesn't help THAT much with avoiding cavities. What it does help with is avoiding a terrible gumline. That said, I'm not the greatest about brushing my teeth. Every few days is enough, eh, right? :x And I work in a dentist's office... :P

What religion are you? (thx to Lionheart)
I guess the whole "unsureness" thing just kind of bothers me. People like to be all wishy washy about "Well... I don't really KNOOOOWWW..." but that doesn't matter. When you really think about it, deep down, what do you just believe? I can't prove there's no God, but it's just a belief I've always had. So *shrug* :D I'm just sure of myself, and believe in my own opinions, and don't care about what the "true" "right" answer out there is.
-
What religion are you? (thx to Lionheart)
Interesting. I usually consider myself a strong atheist spiritually, and a strong Jew culturally. If people ask my religion, I tend to say I'm Jewish, because it's very important to me. Then again, I don't believe anyone should follow a system of morality other than that which suits them; I'm terribly hedonist and really do trust only myself. In that sense I guess Satanism rather fits me, too :D A Jewish Satanist. Huh. Better not tell that to Mel Gibson ;)

Runescape on the big screen :)
Of course I'd go see it :D Sadly, Runescape has been a defining part of my life, and so I'd probably go see it on midnight of opening night, despite expecting it to be awful, and being rather shameful of my weirdness :D

ALONE IN THE ENDLESS UNIVERSE.
Yet there is no importance beyond ourselves... Ubuntu, do you know what existential really means? Because from what I've read of existentialists (particularly Nietzsche, who I find myself agreeing with most), they believe that there doesn't need to be any importance beyond yourself. You give meaning to your own life! Your existence is a piece of art, and you yourself are the artist. That's the subtle difference between nihilism and existentialism - there may not be any importance beyond ourselves, but there doesn't need to be. We ourselves justify existence!
-
ALONE IN THE ENDLESS UNIVERSE.
Then doesn't that give us more meaning? :D The world is floating, it seems so... nothing... full of rocks floating around... and there's us. There's consciousness. We give meaning to the entire universe! We make this moment in time - these few hundred thousand years of our existence - important!
