Something to Think About
If it was Jagex's game, they wouldn't be altering the game to suit the desire of a purported, albeit vocal, "majority". Man you can tell that there's no one at Jagex who is a parent. The Pker's have been behaving like children in a department store, screaming about how they want (a certain toy) the "old wildy" back, and instead of curbing the unruly child's behaviour and telling them to sit the [bleep] down and shut up, they've been filling the shopping cart with a variety of items, time and again, in an effort to appease the screaming child. "Here, screaming child, how about "Bounty Hunter"?" "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" "Here, screaming child, how about "Fist of Guthix"?" "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" "Here, screaming child, how about "Clan Wars"?" "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" "Here, screaming child, how about "Soul Wars"?" "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" Nothing they have tried has managed to appease these people. Why in the hell do they think that bringing back the "old wildy" will work? What they need to do is behave like responsible parents and take the gods damned child out of the store, already and be done with it. Actually no there isn't. There is a "majority" of people who want "the wilderness and free trade" back. There's a difference. A HUGE DIFFERENCE. If they wanted to make this poll realistic, then they should separate the two items completely. They are, in fact, two separate issues. And if you'd bother to read the other threads about "the old wilderness", you'd notice that what these people want is not "the old wildy" back, but rather a modified variation thereof wherein extremes, dunge weapons and other top-quality equipment isn't allowed, because it might "unbalance" combat. As I've said before, I don't give a rat's ass if they bring back the wilderness or not, or they allow free-trade or not, I will adapt and play regardless. What annoys me is that Jagex has back-pedalled on this entire issue and, once again, demonstrated poor leadership which will be followed by further poor decisions, poor programming and more [bleep]ing, whining and crying by this imaginary "majority" of players.

Wilderness and free trade vote! - Now Closed
Agreed 100%. I find it ironic that the "old wildy" is not even restored yet, and the Pkers are already whining about it. Sadly -- the PKer's want their cake and to eat it too. They want to be able to "safely" PK other players with lesser abilities and not have to face down players with greater abilities. Personally -- IMO -- if you want to "PK old wildy style", then man the hell up and take your licks, already. It's not the fault that someone else has got better skills than you. Get over it.

Yes and no. There is NO good reason to ban anything from the wilderness. Period. The POINT behind the "old wilderness" was supposedly the "risk" factor involved. If they're going to hang their ass out over the edge in the wilderness in an effort to obtain "better" loot, then they'd better damn well be prepared to meet every single type of danger there is out there. If they get owned, too bad -- it's their own damn fault for going out there in the first place ... <_<

The Return of Ess Runners?
true, but it would still take a while to put up all of those runes. probably around like 20 clicks. Exactly, which is why ZMI running probably won't become popular. Which is precisely my point. There are precious few "runners" out there who are going to show the patience to just sit idle waiting for a crafter to cycle through some 20 clicks. It'd be convenient for the crafter, perhaps, but not for the runner. Hell -- it'd prolly not even be convenient for the crafter either ...

Something to Think About
You forget, Jagex isn't trying to be fair. They're trying to generate revenue. Since few people will quit over the reintroduction of the old wilderness, Jagex will do whatever tickles their fancy. True dat -- but given their "track record" at coding big updates of game content -- and this would certainly be one of them, I'd think that they'd prefer to take the path of least resistance. Just sayin' ... Good point, but wouldn't we end up having little to no skillers in PvP worlds? That would seriously impair PKing. Not because the majority of PKers prey on skillers but because they prey on those that do. Well -- that'd be too bad for the so-called "majority" of players who want the "old wilderness" back, won't it? If they want to play THEIR game under THEIR terms, then let them play it there. Those players who don't want to play under those rules can play elsewhere. Problem solved.

Personally I think that, considering all the hoops that Jagex jumped through in their efforts to appease the "vast majority" of players who wanted the return of the "old wilderness" I think it is only fitting that, if, as and when they bring back the "old wilderness", Jagex give to those players who'd prefer NOT to have the "old wilderness" back, the SAME consideration. That is, there should be NON-PVP worlds made available so that people can go penguin hunting and do all the other activities in the Wildnerness that exist therein today. This, in my opinion, would be the easiest solution ...

The Return of Ess Runners?
The problem I foresee with running and the ZMI altar is that the actual "trading" between parties will take "too long". Bear with me on this and I will explain: When running Laws, as I recall, the exchange was simply the runner offered the crafter "x" un-noted ess, in exchange for an equal number of laws + "x" noted ess. The same thing would happen, more or less, when running Nats. The problem with the ZMI is that you get a variety of runes with each "crafting" so when the runner would bring you 27 un-noted ess, the crafter would have to offer "x" airs + "y" nats + "z" laws + "q" waters + "r" minds + "m" cosmics + ... There's not too many runners who would sit idle and wait for the crafter to sort out all that junk. Just sayin' ...

What? The PKer's (pures) don't want to allow overloads?!?! The PKer's (pures) don't want to allow Prayers?!?! The PKer's (pures) don't want to allow anything that may "unbalance" the combat level of another player?!?!? Say it ain't SO Joe! /sarcasm

I would agree with you if there was an idea for even one good spell that has anything to do with Necromancy. .__. I posted this under suggestions a while ago ...

New RuneScape trailer
As skimpy as her armour may be -- I, personally, wouldn't mind an outfit like that one. :D That said, since when can people animate or re-animate the undead? Is this a suggestion at the "Necromancy" spell book they may, hopefully introduce into the game?

Given the ridiculous nature of this "vote" and the resulting nonsense that is evolving from it in particular with respect to RWT and these so-called measures that were undertaking to stop botting and gold-mining et al ad nauseum I am now left to wonder if Jagex hasn't simply decided to adopt a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" mentality to dealing with RWT. Perhaps they intend to allow players to "buy" any equipment, amounts of coins and what-not for use in game, like one can in, say, Maple Story?

... and lots of annoyed adults who can just be as bad as kids ... ;) Hey! I resemble that remark! OUCH!

Don't be so cynical about this. Jagex may have handled the trade restrictions and wilderness changes extremely poorly, but right now you sound just as bad as those who complained when everything was changed in the first place. Touché. Honestly -- it makes no never mind to me what they do. I merely found "free trade" inconvenient and I'd prefer PKers to revenants any day -- at least you can "reason" with PKers. Meanwhile, I've still got to now go and quell an uprising in my home because my kids think that, if they cry enough, they'll get their own way every time ... <_<

Hmmm -- so if it does come back ,I guess it just proves that three years of whining, [bleep]ing and complaining can actually achieve something. <_< I guess I should go and apologize to my children for all the times that they whined and cried to me, in order to get something, and I said "no" ... Congratulations Jagex, you've made spoiled children everywhere completely happy.

Same.. Wheres my "Worst Update Ever" T-Shirt? Add me to that list, too. I find it deucedly strange that you cannot vote "no" and yet anyone can vote "yes" on your behalf ... Looks like a rigged vote to me.

New Weapons/Armour
I would say "YES" that new armour and (perhaps) weapons are necessary – BUT with the caveat that new armour and weapons be added for mages. There is no godwars mage gear – either armour or weapons, and it's high time that this was remedied. The only other reason that I'd suggest new armour and/or weapons is for "appearances" sake. Personally, I am bored of the look of Bandos and Armadyl now. I want something cute to wear! :P

New Magicks for Members Only
New Magicks: (for Members only) A first draft to simply "flesh out" some ideas. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks! Arcane Magic: Arcane -- that which is known or understood by very few -- mysterious, secret, obscure, esoteric ... Arcane Magic is a very old form of magic originating with the Majharrat and has been a very closely guarded secret. Until now, no human has ever been in possession of such magic. These are spells devoted to manipulating energy for the purposes of launching powerful attacks on one's opponent. Arcane magic provides very powerful offensive-type combat spells - using Death, Blood and Chaos Runes. Spells would include: Ability Buffers - like potions/prayers boosting: Buff Attack Buff Strength Buff Defence Buff Hitpoints Boost Other Attack, Strength, Defence and Hitpoints [*] Clone Spell Nomad's cloing spell which allows the player to duplicate themselves into multiple targets will make use of "Body" runes. [*] Arcane Burst: Nomad's 750 lifepoint strike spell. This spell can be dodged as it will not hit opponents through solid objects - requires level 95 magic. [*] Arcane Ice: Nomad's freezing spell which causes no damage but freezes the opponent in place until attacked - requires level 98 magic. [*] Arcane Blast: Nomad's lifepoints-1 strike spell takes time to charge this spell as it did with Nomad, during which time the spellcaster is vulnerable to attack - level 99 magic. [*] Various Teleport locations: Wilderness The amount of damage and the effectiveness against armours that any of these spells may posess are, of course, entirely "negotiable" ... Spirit Magic: Spirit Magic is the magic of the Necromancer. These are spells devoted to the manipulation of the dead, the undeath and the manipulation of life energy. It provides the mage with the ability to commune with the undead, spirits and ghosts. Makes use of Death, Soul and Body runes. Invisibility - level 85 Necromancy various spells that help or create the Undead and/or Animate Dead Create Undead Animate Dead Commune with Dead speak with the dead (ghosts, revenants, etc.) and get them to do your bidding, including attacking other players [*] Spells that hurt the Undead Disrupt Undead [*] Spells that hurt other people Enervation Vampiric Touch [*] Spells that manipulate life in order to heal: Regenerate Cure Minor Wounds Cure Intermediate Wounds Cure Major Wounds [*] Damage Deflectors [*] Various Teleport Locations

US government repeals DADT
Honestly -- why is this even an issue anymore? There are a lot of countries in the world that allow openly homosexual people serve in the military. The only countries that don't allow gays in the military are those purported "bastions of freedom" like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the USA ...

Maplestory's Big Bang Update
I, for one, am agreeable that there needs to be an overhaul of the melee centric combat system in the game. While range is somewhat more powerful now – and certainly more powerful than magic – there has not been a reasonable upgrade to combat magicks since Desert Treasure. And yes – I am deliberately discounting the various SURGE types of attacks which, although better than the former listing of standard magic attacks is clearly far too little and too late to be that effective. It is long overdue to overhaul the magic side of the combat triangle – perhaps adding some form of "ARCANE" and/or "SPIRIT" magic that could be added through a quest or series of quests – that would consist of some new multi-target combat spells as well as some buffers and drainers which would level the playing field for prospective mages. Erm, what about the damage boosts? You know, SoL/Chaotic Staff, Arcane stream, etc. Oh sure, they did provide a few things to "boost" mage. But they likewise boosted range and melee at the same time. That's not "balancing" the combat triangle. And yes -- I know -- "they're trying" ... As I said above, it's time to oblige us with some new magicks -- and a way to inter-connect the magicks better. In the old D&D manuals, if you froze something, and then hit it with fire, you added a certain multiplier to your damage. In this game, you cannot co-mingle magicks -- and it's even MORE limited in Dunge, which is downright stupid. Really. It's time to update magic -- and I don't mean just "patch" it, but completely overhaul it: 1. Add new and decent armours -- including as GODWARS set; 2. Add new magicks: Arcane and Spirit magic immediately come to mind; 3. Add the ability to switch or co-mingle magicks ... This is LONG overdue.

Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
The general speculation, for the moment, appears that because the word "torva" is not capitalized, like "rune" is not capitalized in the KB -- it might be a new "material" from which one might manufacture armour and possibly weapons. That said -- and I am not necessarily complaining -- but do we REALLY need MORE melee armour in the game at this moment in time? Really? Perhaps "torva" might be a form of range or, heaven forbid, mage armour, though I entirely doubt it ...

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
I find it hilarious that people are still whining about this entire subject, to the point that they have to fabricate false rumours about it on a message forum. Give it up already children. The old Wildy is gone. Free Trade is gone. Evolve or die.
