  4. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Decisions! Please contribute! Hello! So, high def graphics are out! This leaves us in a decision making position. Many cannot access the pictures whether it be to limitations or membership. I propose we save high Def till next year. This is not final yet becasue I want your input! Basically here are the options: *Keep it as is *Make 2 versions: High and Regular *Put all in same pic I don't want to make a poll on the post becasue we will get people who vote that don't think their decision through. Reply your answers even if it not one of the above. Above all else please take a minute and explain why? Thanks! N_odie Misterdeathbringer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Valor and Uular have done a great job in the past and I have been allowed the privilege to host this year. If you are curious as to the past two years, take a look at the following links: 2007 & 2006. The Great Tip Pic was started because while we may see many through our travels through Runescape, there is no way to see them all! So the thread was started and turned into something of huge proportion! While it does not take the place of meeting fellow Tif members face to face it gives us a picture of all! There is a different method of entering your submissions this year. Use the following steps or follow the requirements if you have the know how to do it with other programs. :XD: [hide=Detailed Submission Guide]These steps are for paint. You are not required to do this method if you know how to make the finished product yourself. These are for people like me who need it plain and simple. ) Step 1 ~Getting the Picture Click the "Show Equipment Stats" button in your inventory. Try to get your player as centered as possible and take a screenshot by pressing the print screen button on your keyboard. Step 2 ~Cropping the Picture Crop the picture to an appropriate working size. Step 3 ~Applying a White Background Use the flood tool and take out any brown that is not part of your player. The magnifier helps greatly in this aspect as well! In progress: Done: PLEASE SAVE AS PNG! Upload with your choice of image hosting site. Please refer to this sticky for info on different hosting sites: How-To Guide: Taking Screenshots and Posting Images[/hide] [hide=At a Glance Requirements]~Original Picture taken in "Show Equipment Stats" screen ~White Background ~Preferably transparent background if you have know-how (not required as we will be doing this for the majority of submissions but will save us time ~Must be saved as PNG[/hide] If your submission does not meet the requirements we will ask you to resubmit. There are 3 of us working on the project so we will try to get you a personalized PM explaining what we may need changed and how to do it! Forum names will be used unless otherwise requested (within limits). We ask that you only submit for yourself and not on the behalf of others. If you need for some reason to discuss this please PM me. PLEASE SAVE AS PNG! So far Cowman_133 and Misterdeathbringer are helping me and you will see thier interaction through this thread a lot. Hopefully this will cut down mess-ups due imperfection... or triple it. So far we have it under control but if we ever need any assistance we will PM anyone who shows interest. : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Great Tip Pic 2008! [hide=Version 1.3][/hide] [hide=Version 1.2]There where a lot of suggestions and fixes that were pointed out. This version is just to allow you to know if we have your picture or not. What is farming all about? Reply with quote Farming Farming is one of the most underrated skills in runescape, You either love it or you hate it. Often people ask how to make money in runescape, and great ideas are often rejected because of the effort needed to make money, for example picking swamp tar or mort myre fungi. It takes a while to get a decent amount to sell and is often quite tedious. With farming, you go to the patch, pick your herbs, plant and you leave. The real beauty of farming is that everything grows whether you are there or not, and whether you are logged on or not! This is actually a skill you can afk! You only have to be on for 5 minutes to make on average (with ranarr) 70k profit. This means that in actual play time, if you only log on to do farming runs, you can make 1.4million gp per hour of actual playing time! The part where farming falls down with low level farmers is they believe they have to watch over their crops in case they die. This is just not practical, you should be growing 4+ patches at once anyway so it would be impossible to watch them all at the same time. When farming, it is impervious that a few of your crops wil die so just accept it and move on. In my opinion, farming is one of the best skills in the game. The most pure and simple way to make money is simple ranarr farming. You go to your herb allotments, pick, supercompost and leave. For such a small task the rewards are huge. Farming can be more complex than this, but in essencence this is farming to make money. Ranarr Farming. $$ Requires level 32 farming Ranarr farming involves farming the ranarr herb from ranarr seeds. This is a fast way to make cash and will always make you profit, and is nearly impossible to do wrong. All herbs take 75 minutes to grow. To ranarr farm, your need a spade, rake, seed dibbler, 4/5 ranarr seeds, dust runes, water runes, law runes, ectophial, charged glory (or house glory) The simple method is to: Teleport to Ectophial Place *recharge summoning north of it if needed & Summon Spirit Terrorbird (52 Summoning) or Bull Ant Then Glory to Draynor *be sure to use the shortcut over the stile and through the cabbage field Then Teleport to Camelot and Run east Then Ardounge Next Then Trollheim Teleport *NOTE This is optional but reccomended if you have done the quest my arms big adventure. The trick to ranarr farming is always use supercompost. It saves alot of money in the long run. With supercopost the minimum herbs from a patch that lives is 5. This means that if all your herbs live in 5 patches, you will get anywhere between 25(150k) to 60(350k) Ranarr Herbs from an investment of 110k. A Note on supercompost. Never carry this with you when running to a patch. The best method is to fill up with the leprecaun (i normally give him 200 or so) and then when you get to a patch withdraw one. The reason behind this is Supercompost actually weighs alot and reduces your run energy very fast. How do i get to 32 Farming? I hear this alot. often people want to farm ranarr but simply dont have the knowledge or motivation to get to 32 farming. Here is a small breakdown of how to train to level 32. Level 1 - Potato Using the route i explained earlier, do a single run to all your available patches and plant potatoes in each. remember to come back in 40 minutes and harvest them. Dont be too fussed if they die. A good idea early on is to use supercompost, as you get xp for just using the supercompost on a patch. As you increase your levels you can farm onions (lvl 5), Cabbage (lvl 7), Tomatoes (lvl 12), Sweetcorn (lvl 20). Its probably not worth doing strawberries once you get level 31 but its an option. Level 2 - Marigold Continue with your potatoes but this time plant marigolds in the centre of the allotment patches. Remember to use Supercompost on these too. These actually yeild more xp when picked than a ranarr herb does. These only take 18 minutes to grow, but unless you have a lot of time on your hands its a good idea to just harvest them every 40 minutes with your potatoes. Remember to keep these as they are worth quite a bit to sell to summoners making bull ant pouches. Stick with marigolds all the way as they are worth quite a bit. Level 9 - Guams Great, you have made it to your first herb. Start doing guams at level 9 for the extra xp. These take 75 minutes to grow, but shouldnt be to much hassle as they will be right next to your other farming patches. Remember to use supercompost with these! I suggested harvesting these every 80 minutes, which is every second allotment/marigold run. You can move on to Marrentil (lvl 14), Tarromin (lvl 19), Harralander (lvl 26) then finally ranarr at level 32. Level 15 - Oak Trees These offer great xp for low level farmers, and should be done often. They are at different places to the Herb, Flower and Allotment patches but should be considered. These will dramatically boost the speed of xp when trying to get to level 32. You dont need to use supercompost on trees as you can pay the farmer to grow the tree and it will never die. If your stuck for time just do Oak trees at lumbridge behind the castle every 140minutes. There are additional patches at varrock castle, outside the gnome maze, the grand tree and at taverly. A trick to knowing if your ranarrs have grown A handy trick i use is to bind your nature amulet to the last patch on your run. When the amulet humms and this patch is ready then you will know for sure all the patches you did before this will be ready too Smile I hope you ilke my guide and enjoy the farming skill as much as i do! ~craven Guide written by me. 9. I think those are more so the words you need to focus on. It is something that needs to be reviewed by the Techies of the staff. They are kinda busy atm :) They will get to it when they can. :geek: Btw, I love when peoples say "hate to argue semantics". It's like saying.... I don't mean to interrupt. lolz Not raggin on ya just saying thank you for pointing out the bug and it will be taken care of. :)
  10. If possible.... amen.
  11. Everyone was hit! If you can, try to recover what you can from google cache. However we must not look back. Looking towards the future will only help. A lot of information has been lost but I think the community has gained! Live long and prosper! lolz Had to through that in! Restoring Old Posts/Guides/Blogs/etc.
  12. More colors, eh? Are the Admins going to manually do "css-based substyles" for each theme, which even though they would expand the list a lot, would give greater choice to the community? (Yes, this is a major idea here.) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull Make sure to elaborate here! Suggestions will make the forum better! Good to see ya btw!
  13. I think a major part of Tip.it community is that we are close. We don't need a rating system imo but I do see where it would be beneficial. It would give many of those who deserve credit, well credit. Were I see a down side is that we all have our opinions of right and wrong, silly and dumb, tomato tomato thing. There are some forum goers that have individual personalities and qualities. A rating system would be extreamly almost racist. What makes you any better then me visa versa! I can have quirks that annoy you but appeal to others. Ratings take away that. There is users that all of us could come up to mind that we have annoyances towards. We should not have to rely on a rating system to be mature. If we have a problem, with someone, ignore it. If you can't ignore them, talk to them. Don't go to them saying this is your fault but along the lines of: I have something that I am working on, would you mind slowing down for a while, it is really starting to get to me. I think this, if applied, would help users in a much larger way than a rating system ever would. ;) The thing that it comes down to is spam. Spam is not tolerated on Tip.it. One gets warnings and is treated accordingly if it does not diciest. The thing with spam is that it is user definable. The trick is to just ignore it..... so on and so on. :) Nic
  14. :) I should be on saturday! Look forward to seeing you there! GL on blog! :geek:

If you are f2p not really. :P ALching green dragon hide bodies is what I did. If mem. By some raw materials! Get some other lvs up around the same time. :)
  16. Post count does have some weight. Someone can post a lot however and not be known. Quality is what sticks in the mind. Someone can tell you not to eat rocky mountain oysters with no explanation and it would not mean much. Would that be the case with a quality explanation of what they are and where they come from? Most likely no. A major part of Tip.it is the freedom giving. People may not think that to be the case but there are not post requirements for certain boreds. You can almost talk about anything as long as it doesn't push natural boundries! You can even flame the forum and site through constructive criticism. Yes quality post are nice but sometimes all that comes to mind is.... ya. Quote tree's are going to be a little annoying until the [hide] feature is up and going. :P It has been stated that cost is not the issue... the community is. When you constrict users it will not help the latter. Just another thought... i know nothing of revenue from website adds but I would think the more pages the more adds and thus more $. May be wrong on that tho. ~Nic
  17. Unless I am mistaken, and I could be but I spent well over 25 hours trying to figure out the cache thing and I am not willing to reupload 50 pages worth of pictures. I can view them, but I am not willing to go through and find every single page. I spent over 25 hours on Google Cache already and I am tired out of it. (Ha ha smiley) I don't have the time to find every page. Sorry. Seriously I wouldn't suprised with the 50 hours. I think i'm going to go ahead and start on this. Would you mind if i edit this post with all my pics?
  18. When did you register gabby_air88? If it was before 81 days ago it is non-existent. You may need to re-register it if this is the case....
  19. I agree, seeing as that surely would have helped prevent this situation. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull Measure's are put into place where this will not happen again. :)
  20. It was that or reverting to nothing and taking another few days to redoing all the stickies. :) I think they made the better decision of two evils.
  21. Yes! :) The Tip Pic 2008 is not a staff project but I will get it back on the forum with in the week. :) As far as the deadline, December 1st was an approximate date. Odd's are however that the date will be close to that. :o The reason being is that we need time to get it all packaged up with a background and border's and small additions. :) You mean that all of the pictures that were submitted but not applied to the Great Tip Pic were saved? Or will we have to resubmit? Please say they were saved. I don't know yet. I am having trouble accessing some of the pages. I do have the 1.1 pic saved however!
  22. @ the P.S.S Soon :) Glad to see that it is anticipated. :P

  24. Yes it is annoying and there are bugs. Give it a week. The staff could have kept it under const. while everything was fixed but instead it was made public becasue the forum goers are part of the forum. THere is not many new staff members. Researchers and maybe one staff? I know the staff member will be noted right away and the researchers will be up soon as well. Moderators are going to be heavly used during this time so I'm sure they won't be forgotten. Just give the forum staff some time to get this taken care of. =-)
  25. Exactly! Can't stress this enough. :) I have a feeling it is being updated now though. When you look at the "who's online list" it has one named google[bot] and yahoo[bot]. =P
