  1. In a logical world, we'd be measuring temperature in Kelvin (absolute zero being at 0); which kind of makes sense. But the Celcuis scale tends to have a better feel to it.Yea, Kelvin would be nice. You see on the weather channel that the temperature is 260, and they tell you to put on your parka.

Woot. But yea, popularity isn't that big. It's often apparent that the people who think they are the coolest and do all the partying, aren't particularly well-liked all around or have many friends. The most popular, with both close friends and ability for them to talk to people in all groups...They are the one's who are the most popular, it's just not said that they are...It's just understood. You follow? I doubt it.
  3. It has to be damn good material, or else I loath it. And there isn't that much good damn good material.
  4. I find it ironic how you got that "Ford" in your name  Lol. It isn't all America's fault. It's also...Uhhh...Yemin. Yea. That's it. Woot. We tried to convert to Metric system (under Reagan's Presidency, was it not?), but noone understood it so we scrapped it. It's kind of hard to get 300 million people to understand something they were NEVER taught in school. Hell, I was barely taught any metics in school either. Just a tad in science. UK and Canada did it almost entirely. Why can't you? However, I do think that some parts of Imperial are better, if only for the fact that we are used to them. Pretty much only peoples height, and peoples weight. I don't really get KG's when someone says they weigh 70kg's I always just multiply by 2.2. And when someone says they are 170cm...Well, I ask them what that is in feet :|. Pretty much everything else is better, though.
  5. Japan was on the opposing side of a world war where they were trying to reach global domination with Germany and Italy. And they were succeeding very well. That's why we dropped the nuclear bomb. Not just because of them attacking our harbor - we were trying to prevent a global take over by an evil Empire. Not really, Italy had surrendered long ago, and Germany had also surrendered by this point. Japan had no real chance of taking over the world, US just wanted to end the war quickly.
  6. I just watched the game...That makes 2 games Henry has taken a dive that has completely changed the game in his favor...But whatever... Portugal outplayed France by soooo much...Ricardo (I think that's the Portuguese goalie), had almost nothing to deal with, he only just barely let in Zidanes penalty kick. Portugal had so many more chances, things just didn't go in their favour unfortunately. I wanted Portugal to win but I feared it might end up like it did. Oh yea, and that booing of C. Ronaldo: highly unnecessary :\. He played pretty while dispite that though.
  7. Why wouldn't there be? Aren't they in New York?
  8. I used to play tennis, and take lessons and such. Then I realised I really had no interest in it, so I quit. (I started because my family made me, that's pretty much how everything in my life has gone so far). It's positively torturous to watch on TV...Perhaps my least favourite sport to watch...So boring, so long and it's basically the same thing over and over (I also dislike basketball for the same reason).
  9. guess what... your 75% water I don't think he fears H2O :notalk: I think he means big things of water where you could drown and get confused and such.
  10. Damn, the first game I've missed since mid-first round, and its the best one ever >.<. Won't see tommorows either :(.
  11. You've seen those all?

I'm pretty sure this game is going to take advantage of DX10. Not to say Vista exclusive, just that it will look better under DX10. They wouldn't be stupid as to make it DX10 only, especially with an untested MMORPG where their sole purpose is to reach a wide audience. This, however, will probably give you some idea as to what sort of DX9 capable computer you'll want...Very, very good, I'm expecting. (my guess: 1gb RAM minimum, 2gb recommended...a very capable modern processor (since Ghz don't mean much anymore, I won't even try to guess), and a current generation graphics card). I mean, look at the screens, and then imagine that as an MMO...Even on min specs that will take a very good computer.
  13. I donno about you, I didn't see any Portuguese guys endangering the manhood of any of the England players. There's 4 great teams left, I'm gonna have to say whoever wins the Italy Germany game takes it...I'm rooting for Italy. My prediction: 1.Italy 2.Portugal 3.Germany 4.France France is good, they've finally picked up. But they just annoy me too much...
  14. Isn't 300gb a bit of overkill for such and old computer? Really, though, it depends what you're doing. You're PC in it's current state is pretty much useless for any kind of gaming, but if all you're doing is downloading heaps of music and creating large sized movies then yea, a big hard drive might be nice. But if all you need it for is the general stuff, 300gb is huge overkill when you could be saving for a new PC.
  15. X1300 is a fine mid-range card (it's the budget level of the modern era of ATI cards), though it's not great. It's of poor value from ATI, even though it's a budget card, there's just not a lot of bang-for-the buck. But since you can't change that, it will definately do amazing for CS and fine for CS:S. It might not run F.E.A.R. on high detail, and don't look to be playing Crysis. I wouldn't have bought it if you had the choice, but since you sorta already have it, don't worry, it's not outdated, just poor value.
  16. Bubsa do you even have a job? I can hardly believe you could hold down a job, what with your trips to Africa, marathons and constant Skittle eatery.
  17. If an army can't win and had to retreat, that means they lost :-s So then, who won? The USA didn't "retreat" in war terms, they just packed up and left....not because they were scared or losing horribly, because it was an unwinnable "war" (which it wasn't really even), whereas noone won. They did not win, nor did they lose "against" Vietnam. Nobody really won. Even though no one wins in war (man, what a cliche thing to say :anxious: ), but atleast in most wars there is someone who comes out ahead. USA didn't gain anything in that war (in fact, they lost money/troops), so they lost. And once they left Saigon did fall, so North Korea kinda sorta did get what they wanted once they left.
  18. I'm just re-watching the England Portugal game: that red card that Rooney got was the most obvious red-card play that I've seen. He does a rugby tackle on the first guy, then stomps him in the balls (don't know if everyone caught this, but he came down with his cleets pretty hard there :o . Then pushing the guy 2 feet from the ref? That's rediculous to say he didn't deserve that. Other notes: -Aaron Lennon played an amazing game, the most impressive player for England, even though he was only in when Beckham left. -Crouch: why is this guy even here? He doesn't do anything but stand there and be tall. -As much as I think Portugal deserved to advance, I would say that there was one time when Lennon got tripped, definately deserved a penalty kick...Everyone went nuts when he didn't get it, I agree he should have got it. Edit-And one more thing. There's a reason Portugal didn't destroy England and there 10 men. You can see why they wanted to go to the shootout  Edit2-After 2 watchings of the same game I was able to study it further. C. Ronaldo wasn't really doing to much wrong. He actually played pretty well. Sure, he took a few dives (which didn't gain him much, clearly, since there were no goals in the whole game). Portugal easily outplayed England that game.
  19. Hmmmmm, that shouldn't have happened :|.
  20. Yea they just said on the channel I'm watching, someting to the effect of "wouldn't it be great to be the fly on the wall when Manchester starts its new season and Rooney and C. Ronaldo see each other for the first time". I only just realised a bit into the game how many people in that game were on the same team :| (well, you get what I mean).
  21. Holy exciting finish batman!
  22. I got a question. How do the refs always know how to talk to both teams. Is everyone speaking one language, or do the refs know a wealth of different languages?
  23. LOL 7 white shirts crowded around the goalie, Portugal just waiting to pick a spot.
  24. That Lennon guy can really cut through defenders...the Roony fans on it :notalk: Edit: Rooney gets the red card :|.
