  1. Imma print off past 100 lists of mine, plus some entries that I've posted in here over the past like, year. Then, I'm gonna watch more movies in the second half of summer. Then I'll post a top 100.
  2. I'm not telling you my ideas. Get away from me.
  3. How could you not know what the X-Games are? A few years ago, they were huge. Which brings me to my point - I was watching some skateboarding a few weeks ago, and it's pretty much moved back out of fame and is again the obscure type of sport it used to be. Ever since like, Tony Hawk isn't really famous anymore, you never, ever hear about it. The less hardcore fans stopped caring, so did the media, and so did the game developers (the old Tony Hawk games were some of the highest rated games ever, now they are mediocre tops). It got me to thinking-what if you were a teen growing up at like age 12 right when skateboarding started becoming really popular a few years back. And you practiced every day, it got in the way of your social life, and you always dreamed you would be rich and famous. Then by the time you got there, people had moved on and it was a shadow of it's formal self. That would suck.
  4. Heh, I saw that coupled with some other movie today at Walmart for a dollar. But I still didn't buy it.
  5. Watched Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. I thought it was good, mostly because of it's dark, mature-ish-like sence of humor, and it's witty dialogue. Not much else to speak of. Worth a watch.

You didn't mix it up good enough. When I looked at it, I saw the first and lest lettr, then fragments like "lish", "ent", "arian".
  7. Well, I think it personally varies from person to person, based on where their fears lie. Like, I get creeped out by some horror movies, even if they are completely outlandish, impossible, and has terrible writing.
  8. Depends what the rest of your computer is like. If this rest is high end, 2 would be essential. If you're going for a mid-range type of computer, 2 gb will most likely be better, but won't turn it from midrange to high range.
  9. McDonald's. Worked there since the start of the summer.

It's the unspoken rule to try to get as many of these comments in "before teh lock." See, look, I posted 2. Wait, now 3!
  11. So true. But I enjoy movies more when I'm just a bit tired (like, primo viewing hours are starting 8-10pm. Afternoon movies, mostly at home when light shines in, ruin me. And who I'm watching a movie with can change it, either from being just a bit good to just a bit bad, or something. However, a really good movie can be enjoyed at any time (my dad hated Sin City, but I thought it owned when we watched it together).
  12. I read the novel then immediately watched the movie. It's not a great movie but it does the job. I thought every person in the world had to read that as part of school.

Oh yeah, and how many words do you know that start with t, end with t and have a and h in the middle. Atleast I think 'that' is the only one :\.

Yay, a new way to get around the swear filter...Maybe I can use it on people who post this topic for the 100th time.

  16. I watched Lawrence of Arabia (41/50 now, villain ). Overall I thought this was a good movie. Let me start with what I didn't like: pace. The first like, half of the movie is essential, but overlong and nearly reaches the point of boredom. There's so many long scenes, and while I know that it's the point of them to be long and near tedious, but just because I understand why it's like that, doesn't mean that's what I like in a movie. I think this was my only gripe (though it led this movie from being an amazing classic to only good). Now, here's what I liked: Everything else. It was amazingly well acted by O'Toole, and Guiness (I had no idea it was him until after :)). Having seen a 2 hour documentary about T.E. Lawrence a few months ago, I definately think that it made the movie infinitely better for me. I had never really heard of T.E. Lawrence before that, and had I not seen the documentary I would have been confused and frustrated I think. However, this also means I knew everything that was going to happen in the movie (well, pretty much), so that took something away. This movie looked really good (I'm SO digging that on location filming, made the movie so much better than other old epics). And, this is probably the single most epic film I've ever seen. It was on a massive scale, it had larger than life characters, amazing events, and it just felt huge (so many extras... ) And it also showed a side of the man you couldn't see in a documentary, it was an amazing story in itself, but told very well in this movie. Overall, a very good movie, but could stand to be shorter as it runs close to 4 hours.
  17. Any country with the power to influence almost the rest of the world, that is developed, has a reasonable economy, a high population, and by far the highest military strength can obviously have the potential to be a threat... ...but it's not like they run this planet, and they're not bent on world domination. And personally I'd rather have that amount of power in the hands of America than in the hands of a bombing-happy country.
  18. Stop beating me . But I'm watching 1 more today. Could never find Lawrence of Arabia in Blockbuster, so I just bought it (an unexpected setback in my savings for my computer, but whatever, I needed to see it).
  19. The scary thing is that onboard graphics might actually run CS1 considering how old it is. But I don't know if it would play anything of note on this side of 2000.
  20. LOL. All-in-Wonder 9800? Where the hell did that come from. Here's probably the best: -Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme x6800 (not actually out yet, but whatever). -ATI Radeon x1900XTX, or a pair of the highest end nVidia cards in SLI (I don't know enough about nVidia, and I know Crossfire can cause problems, so I'll just leave it like that). Also, this will improve with the highest end DX10 card. -4GB of RAM (highly unnecessay right now, but they still sell it) with high MHz (is 667 the highest? maybe it's higher now, 800 maybe?) -Connection...Well, that doesn't have much to do with the actual computer... -Vista won't really improve performance (based on some tests, such as framerates in F.E.A.R. there isn't much noticable difference...in some other games, it slows it down). Vista will be nice, exclusive games to play, but unless you have a DX10 card it won't really do much for performance (and it might also have a significant amount of bugs). -And HD...I don't know anything about Harddrives except that you need high capacity, high RPM, SATA...Ask someone smart about this. Apparently it's good to have 2 harddrives, one for booting, one for storage.
  21. Hey, since this topic is about school, I thought I should post this link. Basically, it compares children from many different countries, at different ages, in math and science. Very interesting. http://4brevard.com/choice/international-test-scores.htm

It really depends if it's your kind of game. If you're into hardcore RPG games, I'd stay away. I would say this is more of an action/adventure game with some RPG elements (they certainly aren't done very well), and the story is weak. But there's a LOT of content (very little of which I found very interesting), and there's lots to explore, lots to fight, lots of items to find. If you want quantity of game over quality of game, this is for you. The only thing that elevates it over any other game is the massive map (the towns are nice, and some of the buildings are fine, but the landscape is boring and as are the dungeons) and the top of the line graphics. So it really comes down to what type of game you like.
  23. I would say about half of those things apply to me. I was alive for every minute of the nineties (unless I died and was ressurected :uhh: ). Some of them are odd, and nothing about technology/costed money applied to me (no Tamagotchi, no N64 or SNES, no light up shoes). I did have a walkman though :-k .
  24. Damn, I just did that, now I can't find the normal one :ohnoes: Ugh, nvm, Default, gotcha. :uhh:
  25. I watched Basic. I enjoyed it, the plot moved fast and I never really felt bored. It had some good twists, fair performances, and an enjoyable premise. Overall it was a good movie, but its not as good as it thinks it is. Two major problems: First, there is a constant downpour of rain throughout the movie, as well as a lot of helicopter blades turning. Why is this a problem? All the ambient noise makes it nearly impossible to hear any of the dialogue for about 50% of the movie. But this point is fairly minor compared to the second major flaw. This movie twists so much. And that can be a good thing, but the only problem is it doesn't properly explain what's happening. Nothing really happens that's significant for the first half, then in the last 20 minutes it twists like 10 times. It seems to think that it's doing something clever but instead it seems more like it's trying to be overly smart and confusing. There's almost no explanation for some of the things that happen, and you can't hear most of the explaining because of problem A. I kinda need to watch the movie again. Some of the twists were good, but some just seemed like excess baggage. This keeps the movie from being great, and it settles for merely good.
