  1. You know what I just noticed? PC owns. Other than Halo 3 (which will come to PC, but probably not til 2009-2010), we pretty much have all the best Xbox360 "exclusives" (Alan Wake, Bioshock, Gears of War, Splinter Cell 5), a few PS3 "exclusives" (UT2k7 etc.) and we get all the best multi-platform games (Assassin's Creed, Oblivion, GTA4 (will come to PC)). And all our own exclusives (sucks that we lost Half-Life 2, sucks hard). But we still have pretty much all the RTS's, we have the best FPS's, and we get the all the best games from other platforms, aswell as heaps more versatility in our machine. *Sigh* Assassin's Creed is also for Xbox360. Oblivion has been out on the 360 for months. GTA4, last I heard, was Xbox360 EXCLUSIVE, but I think I remember reading it was for both systems. I read the Ps3's exlusivities, and only a few made me want to buy a Ps3, whereas the Xbox360 pretty much forces me to buy it because I'd miss out on so much. Did you understand at all the point of my post? It was how PC get's all of Xbox 360's best games. Therefore, I know they are on 360. I was just stating how we pretty well get every big game in the industry, from either major platform, as well as an amazing range of our own exclusives. Oh yeah, and we got Oblivion at the same time on the 360. And GTA4 is 360, PS3, and almost certainly PC.
  2. Erm, I don't know what you've been playing but I've played every GTA there is for the PC and not one of them required that you do that. What's more, all the controls are redefinable. San Andreas. :-k That was the default way to turn your character/look sideways. There seemed to be no key to push to make him run sideways, lol. I figured they were redefinable, but I just didn't mess with it, if the default controls are teh sux, then I won't waste my time messing with them 'casue they'd STILL suck. :P At first I thought the same, the controls seemed wierd. But after, I would say no more than an hour, you get used to them, and I learned to like them even more than those of Vice City. If you're too impatient to get used to them, it's your own fault if you didn't like it.
  3. Kind of off topic; but assuming that the "Big Bang" is true, where did that remarkably dense ball of matter come from originally? It, like a god, has to come from somewhere. Unless it somehow created itself, in which case it is god. But it probably didn't, and I refuse to believe that one day it just was.
  4. Those guys are in crazy good shape, especially powerful legs. Sure, there's alot of technique, but don't neglect the fact that you need to be in crazy good shape to do that kind of stuff.
  5. As has been said, it makes your life easier, but whether or not it makes your life better is dependant on the person. If I was even slightly better off, and didn't have to work my arse off to make money for university and for a few of my owns wants, I know I would be alot happier (and doing better and school, and not as stressed, and so forth).
  6. How about neither until proven either?
  7. I have not heard enough different albums, nor do I have diverse enough taste in music to post a legitimate reply, so I'll just say: That is an exeptional, underrated album. 2 masterpieces, 2 near-masterpieces, and an entertaining ditty on the end. Would place easily in my top 10, but as I said, I'm not going to bother.
  8. If all he's doing is playing runescape, get him a Dell. No joke. Dell takes alot more flak than they should. Obviously you shouldn't buy from them if your trying to find a high-end system, but for something to play Runescape on, it's the best way to go. Far better than building your own. Reasons: 1) Reliable; good warranty. I've had several Dells now, never any problem with them. They don't crash too much, don't overheat, are extremely quiet. 2)Less hassle than building yourself: You don't have to find all the parts and figure out how to put them together. 3)Most likely it's going to come in cheaper than building your own. Check out this. $499, monitor/keyboard/mouse included. Plus you don't have to track down ultra-low end parts. For 100 dollars more, you can make it have a low end PCI card and 1gig of RAM. And here's the best part: No shipping. A lot of sites have huge costs for shipping, especially if you're getting it all coming separately. It's something a lot of people don't take into consideration. All that, and this is the perfect thing for if all he's going is Runescape/e-mail/internet/homework. Any light gaming will require atleast that extra $100. And this computer isn't really looking to the future, but as I said, for what you've asked, this is definately fine.
  9. You mean, when it comes out for PC.
  10. This is sad. I have no free time. I've only watched about 4 movies since going back to school (start of September). The last two I watched were: Thank you for Smoking, and Click. Smoking...That was like 2 weeks ago, I can hardly remember it. I recall that it was quite solidly entertaining and had some kind of message. I think I'd recommend it. Click was OK. The first half was exactly how you'd expect, then it started to get really strange. *Major Spoiler*I'm all for feel good endings, but it feels tacked on and predictable. I think this would have been a far, far better movie had he not been dreaming. Though it would have made less sence.*end spoiler*. Overall a decent movie, not particularly memorable though. I wish I could watch more movies :(.
  11. You made my day. Source? :D there is none, but its a good bet it will do Yup, it's just good business, for a lot of reasons. A) Now that the barrier's of exclusive for 6 months thing are down, there's noone to get mad when the release it on another platform (in fact, Microsoft will be happy if they release it Vista only). B) In the past, all the GTA games have sold a lot of copies; many people hold out on buying the PS2 version to buy the PC version instead (or, in many cases, aswell). They have sold close to as many copies on PC as on Xbox, if not more. My rough estimate is about a million copies. That by far outweighs the costs of porting it, making huge profits for everyone. C) Me, and about a million other people will flame the hell out of Rockstar if it doesn't happen. I can see it coming maybe a week or 2 after the initial release. If they're particularly generous, it might be the same time as Xbox360/PS3. However, the 6 month thing wouldn't surprise me either (that actually works out better...I have about 100x more time to game in the summer, and when GTA4 comes out on PS3, I'll be knee deep in univeristy work). They might also make it longer to make 100% sure that there's nothing in the game code this time that shouldn't be. Conclusion: GTA4 will almost certainly come to PC.

  13. The adult film industry is backing Blu-Ray. It will win.
  14. The point behind exclusives mean that people can not use these as advantages for other consoles. Other than say...GRAW, there's next to nil on the 360 that's exclusive right now, and of a high quality. There's a few games way down the line (Bioshock etc.), but you'll note that I listed a lot more games than you said....And that wasn't my point with that. If you'll recall, Xbox360 would have been a far better launch had it had some tried and tested 4-5 star games in it's arsenal on launch. That was my point with the multi-platform thing. And then, there's the rest of the year and Q1 2007, which completely destroys the launch/post-launch of Xbox360. And why get a PS3 instead of a PS2? Well, many of the best new games (UT2k7, MGS4) and multi-platform games (F.E.A.R, Oblivion) are PS3 only (as in not PS2). My whole point is that it's pretty well an inarguable fact that PS3 will have a far superior launch/post launch than 360 had. It's basically that Xbox360 is just now getting all it's best games coming; and PS3 has them from the get-go.
  15. My wish: 1. Playstation 3 2. Wii 3. Xbox 360 That's what I want it to be, but it's likely that it will be: 1. Playstation 3 2. Xbox 360 3. Wii I know, unoriginal. The same as the current race. I just don't think that Wii is going to sell as many copies as people think, and I don't think Xbox 360 will be ahead of PS3 for long. PS2 a HUGE base all over the world, particularly Japan, and even USA. PS2, still outsells every console around, by a lot. You'd be kidding yourself if you think $100 dollars is going to matter to people, especially when they find out it has a blue ray player (PS3 is undeniably a far better deal that Xbox 360). Not only that, PS3 also has the best launch line-up. Now, before you start shrieking at me let me explain myself. FULL. BACKWARDS. COMPATIBILITY. A lot of Triple A games are still coming out for PS2, and will be for I expect another 6-12 months (God of War 2 etc.). Blockbusters like Bully and Guitar Hero 2 will be there, ready at launch for PS3. And let's not forget all the others, particularly Resistance: Fall of Man, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Rainbow 6: Vegas, Call of Duty 3, Need for Speed Carbon, Ridge Racer 7, F.E.A.R., Oblivion, Madden 07, and down the line we have Killzone 2, Warhawk, Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Assassin's Creed UT2007. This is way different than the Xbox 360 launch. People waited months to by it, standed in the freezing cold to pick it up. Then they got it and were like: "..uhhh...what do I do now?". You basically had PDZ (far from a killer app), and Call of Duty 2. Then you waited for DoA4 by like Christmas, and had next to nothing until about March when the games started picking up (GRAW, Oblivion etc.). And you couldn't even play some of the best Xbox games, because they weren't supported, and Microsoft told you that the gamers didn't want backwards compatibility. Which, while some may not, a lot of people don't want to have their games become useless (a lot of people sell there system to get cash for a brand new one). And even if you kept it, you'd have to fiddle with cords every time you wanted to switch. PS3 will win. I believe 360 will make some ground over this gen, but still PS3 will win. And Wii will do well, but not as good as people think. My guess, 5 years time, the market will look like this: PS3: 50% Xbox360: 30% Wii: 20%
  16. If I'm just doing busywork, then I love to put on some good music (not my favourite music, just music that is good). Example: Some kind of creative/constructive project. However, with this years heavy work load, and it's almost all entirely thought based, I can have no distractions. I wouldn't say I like to procrastinate, I'm just easily taken off task. Yesterday I spent a few minutes talking about something with a family member, and for some reason I got all riled up and couldn't get back to work for like an hour. I can't even remember what it was. So now I just try to find a place where people won't bother me, and is relatively quiet (normally the living room).
  17. Uhhhhhh...Spielberg by about 100 times.
  18. Of course the game is real. I work at McDonalds, there's a lot of oppurunites to win a Free Large Sandwich. Someone also won a big-screen TV at our location, though it wasn't while I was working there.
  19. He's going on judge Joe Brown, he doesn't have to make sence.
  20. I just read about 30-40 of those Cyanide and Happiness. They're not generally very funny. I actually think White Ninja is funnier, even though the posted ones aren't very good.
  21. I would to save myself, or anyone I valued more than the person who I was killing (example, I would kill the homicidal maniac rather than let him kill the pregant victim and unborn baby). I can absolutely not see why anyone would let this play out. I would still have nightmares about the incident, but it wouldn't be from my own killing, it would be what would have happened if I weren't there or if I didn't act.
  22. I actually prefer safety, but I like privacy aswell. I don't think that people who are generally good deserve to have their privacy taken away, even those who have been to jail for something that isn't that heinous.
  23. I...but...you...I can't tell anyone apart. This is madness!
  24. Man, I was just thinking about this yesterday. I was trying to imagine the scale between Earth and the Sun instead of doing homework. Btw, what is the ratio of Earth:Jupiter:Sun:That other big star:the biggest star.
  25. I've found that good lyrics must not just be deep or have meaning, they also have to fit the singers voice perfectly, and have a good way of putting things. The more words or expressions you know, I think that would help. They don't have to be big words (most big words sound terrible in songs, IMO). I think, as Nadril said, poetry would help, because it would help not only creative writing, but the way you use the small words and learn new ones.
