It actually wouldn't surprise me unfortunately, the quality of updates this year has been way below par, and most of them are on the verge of completely useless.

Yah 37 new monsters unique to slayer, 2 new dungeons only for slayer, 1 whole tower just for slayer, 26 new drops from the slayer monsters, and giving the best training weapon in the game. Yah slayer was definitly a half assed skill, nothing like "Go burn this log", no slayer doesn't even compare to something that amazing. All of those could have been released WITHOUT slayer, though. That is like saying player owned houses could be released without construction, just use fletching to shape the logs into items, and smithing to hammer them in. Runecrafting could have just be an expansion on magic. People want new skills, and if Jagex is able to release like 100 new things into the game, and a new skill all at once, then I am sure people would rather that.

Yes but it is a good stat for balance. It is more enjoyable than camping waterfiends for 200 hours, or sitting at AZs for countless hours.

You should edit that pic and put a box around the new Summoning piece aswell :) then it can be used in discussions of both.

You completely missed it all together. Look where the summoning icon used to be. I don't think so, the music icon would be missing if that is not it. Ok there is an updated music icon, but there is a COMPLETELY NEW ICON that you are missing. Look for it, that is the whole point of the topic. There wouldn't be 8 pages to discuss them changing the music icon.

Just as an add on: With that image if you do 'b' it shows the updated icons, no new icon, no claws. So possibly the claws will be coming at the same time as the new icon?

Go to 'summoning - basics' in Portugese manual and get the URL of the picture there: http://www.runescape.com/l=3/img/main/kbase/skills/summoning/screenshots/summoning_interface1c.jpg Change the last "c" to an "a" and voila. Worked for me. Now go and check other screenshots! 'c' at the end gives the current icons. 'b' at the end gives updated icons. 'a' at the end gives update icons + new icon.

TLDR kinda. I skimmed through most of it to get the main gist, and I like what I saw. There will still be WBMs, especially since most people probably won't even read this, but it ensure that the new moderators will be of higher quality. It is hard for them to justify if someone is mature enough to have the moderator position purely off reports, they don't get to see if the person is good with people, they don't get to see how mature the person is, and they don't really know anything about them. With this new criteria you will most likely start to see more high ranked members of forum communities getting modship.

Music Icon, Magic Icon, Friends and Ignore Lists Icon, all of those one are slightly different or majorly different. Before this turns into a big discussion about it though I will advise that it is redirected to Shedding Some Light on a New Icon. That is an ongoing discussion about the new icon.

Actually the majority of players enjoy slayer, it is one of the most popular stats for members. Your estimate of 40k slayer xp per hour is completely off though, it is approx 15-20k per hour. The slayer experience is 1/4 of the xp in a combat stat, so if you are getting 80k melee xp an hour, that is 20k slayer.
