  1. Faster dungeons are more enjoyable. Why is this even a discussion?
  2. i mean if the fks is a byproduct of you training dg, then yeah it's "cheaper". but looking at it only from the shield perspective, fks has a higher opportunity cost (if u have bad teams)
  3. Depends how much you key- battleaxe is worse than 2h in every way save the ability to use a tank ring with it. Though, I've been hearing more about this idea of using gather/art ring for keying to save on skill door damage. If that is indeed better, then the battleaxe is simply inferior to the 2h. battle axe is better on shades, (and possibly skeletons and zombies) but it sucks on pretty much everything else compared to 2H. i did a calc ago and came up with this DPS graph; in terms of crush, prim baxe and prom 2h are about equal, even at high defense. the graph doesn't show it well but prom2h is still better. prom2h is clearly better for slashing high defense targets. and of coruse prim2h lays both to waste. Interesting. I still prefer baxe for option to switch to tank + did you take into account overkkill loss?
  4. Yes, let's all ignore logic, because everyone who can use it is a nolifer who doesn't have fun. Awesome argument dude. Exactly. He's been shown numerous ways to make over 3m gp/hr, and refuses to believe it. He'll only use snide comments, never true logic. Ignoring the damage absorbtion altogether, CKS has decent melee stats. Tanking bandos in a team, decent. Not sure what else. Spec is a better shield for bandos tanking i think, since bandos's ranged attack is mage-based(?)
  5. Works with uni, SAtk cost is reduced by 20% so it costs 16 points instead of 20. Theres a topic about this. so far they've concluded that all combat familiar's scroll's gets that reduction. ..And unicorns. which means no reduction in yak/fruit bat scrolls for example. Thanks, you do realize i am the OP of that other post. but i digress.
  6. Works with uni, SAtk cost is reduced by 20% so it costs 16 points instead of 20.
  7. Off topic: i like how you editted that^ into your sig  I felt the need to :^_^: Anyway, let's get back on topic lol. I was actually planning on getting an Eagle-eye kiteshield, as I figured it would negate quite a bit of damage at Bandos, especially. Not anymore #-o Spectral is a MUCH MUCH better choice you dont lose it higher magic defense no degrade cost
  8. Govelltroll will be govelltroll ANYWAY yeah, just to reiterate from my last post, the average damage reduction is like 1-3%. VERY VERY SMALL. if you want, i can show you the math.
  9. Because the customer service team doesn't talk to the website team, so simple changes are incredibly difficult when reported. May not be a programming fail, but still a large problem jagex SHOULD deal with.
  10. Eagle eye has negative melee attack bonuses. The only situation where it could be better than Spectral is for range vs mage battles and armadyl, but at armadyl you're risking the EEKS. In range vs range battles CKS is better. FKS is in NO way better than arcane. Even then +20 crush defense is worth more than the damage soak. Let alone the -15 loss in range defense and -3 loss in magic attack. Arcane totally outclasses FKS. OT: If Jagex responds to reports, can someone please tell my why the KB has been wrong for several months now WRT dungeoneering items? ALl it needs is a small text change, and they couldn't even do that. The point is that if they actually soaked like the KB stated, they would be much much better than SS's, even ely's.
  11. Let me just remind you for pvm the averaged soak reduction is at MOST 3-4% and more reasonably ~2%. for pvp the averaged soak reduction is at MOST 4-5% and more reasonably ~3%. on a rough order of approximation, this is about ~5-10 defense points worth, which alone is about the difference between SS's and dgshields. Keep in mind dgshields have low alch values, are much harder to get, are a sunk cost, have repair costs, and have negative attack bonuses. they are BAD and terribly designed.
  12. Strength bonus; +7 is hardly insignificant +15 Magic defense is also huge. ~10 ranged isnt. Also CKS is usually lost on death CKS>DFS only in range vs range.
  13. jagex almost never takes back an update. also doing so would be impossible.
  14. Their QA department is even worse. This game is bugged beyond repair, every update is full of bugs (except those by Mod Ash lol). "Bugged beyond repair" implies that the game can't even be compiled, let alone played. Thought I'd point that out. No, could just mean a bug that they can't easily fix. whatever, semantics. "Suck" is subjective. The shields do offer a substantial amount of defense, and if you've got the 200K tokens lying around, it may be a valid investment for one that wouldn't mind having one. They weren't intended to outclass any of the Spirit Shield sets, and now we have concrete proof as to that they don't. Naturally I would've hoped that the issue would've been fixed in the KB by now, but it's probably best, next time, if there is an error, to report it and let it be dealt with. Whining about things seldom fixes things. No. They were most likely meant to outclass SS's (exlcuding div/ely), since they were added to REBALANCE PVP (chaotic weapons are really powerful). Jagex probably failed to do the math to realize that the shields barely soak ANY damage. now we have a PVP system which is basically broken in how powerful chaotics are. Jagex does NOT respond to reports (at least within a reasonable timeframe). There are SO many instances of this. i dont expect jagex to respond to my whining, but it still makes me feel better. if jagex showed that they actually responded to reports id be much more inclined to do so. they are simply FAIL at quality assurance / quality control
  15. scrubs do rex alone i mean for tribing/2.5 but yea for solo rex arc>div
  16. overall rankings for shields PvP (Tribrid): Div>Ely>Arc>FKS>DFS>CKS>Spec>EEKS. Defender is useful but in a different way so it is not ranked. PvM (Slayer): Defender > All PvM (MH exlcuding Rex): Div>Ely>Spec>DFS>CKS>EEKS. EEKS is higher against arma. Defender is useful but in a different way so it is not ranked. PvM (Rex): Div>Ely>Arc>FKS
  17. I am actually glad that they finally released hard numbers and info on the shields. We have known that they're bad for a long time.
  18. tell that nub to check if it works with yak hes studying for a test and tells u to gtfo LOL jk
  19. lalala confirms it works with uni
  20. But sometimes the mono spawns 4 133 shades at once, and once you let it die, it spawns level 67s and 90s after you reactivate it. Weird huh? Could just be luck. no one really knows how mono works.
  21. untested, but it may be good to do monos right after other monos, ghost rooms, or merc leaders because apparently the game autobalances it to make it easier. not sure tho.
  22. In most Pvm cases, I'm pretty sure SW cape is much better. Even so, the spirit cape still has nice niche uses. Good job jagex. NOW FIX THE AMULET OF ZEALOTS TROLOLOL
  23. Umm... we already are a wealth of information... and in general a very positive impact on the game. I don't get your condescension. There is (at least, should not be) nothing wrong with critizing jagex when they clearly are being incompetent
  24. According to RSWiki: Could we get a confirm on this? And if it's true, is this item now really good? One interesting thing to note: Uni heal should now only cost 16 points instead of 20. Seeing as how each dose of a summonpot restores 15 points, a summon pot is now (15/16)*4(149) = 558.75 HP. Almost as much as a brew! Uni restore rate is about (30/16)*149 ~ 280 HP/min As opposed to (30/20)*149 ~ 225 HP/min
