  1. Jagex is pretty terrible at game balance. The solutions to this problem are plentiful: -- Instead of the DG shields, Make a DG reward an attachment to spirit shields which allow for damage soaking. -- Buff the DG shield damage soaking while reducing their stats. -- Use different combinations of stats. We NEED damage reduction.
  2. would be nice for the shields to reduce a whole 14 percentagainst damage instead of fractional 14.
  3. the expression for overall dg shield damage reduction should be ntegral(0.14(x-200)/x,x,200,max)/max. this evaluates to about 1 percent against a 300 max, 2 percent against a 400 max, 3.3 percent against 500 max. those percentages are halved for the secondary style damage reduction
  4. I agree - calling does require skill. I was never a caller though, never wanted to be one either. Just doesn't appeal to me. So for me at least, it came down to "do I just listen to other people?" or "do I brid by myself?" The latter is much more fun and, excluding calling, is harder. Lol who is this "legend"? + idk how it works cause i never seriously applied, but i was under the impression i was simply offered a spot on (it was by a TNB member who I regularly brid with)
  5. Blasphemy! You dare question the greatness of the C1? *ahem* I believe someone dervived a general formula for exp per floor at one point. I could model an effiency equation if I could get my hands on it. Yeah the only problem with them is that no one wants to do them with me outside of ppl I know
  6. Switches and farcasting matter but don't matter nearly as much, and are at much much lower APMs than with hybriding. We're talking about one 3 or 4 item switch in every like... 5 hits at most. Compared to a 4-6 item switch every 1-2 hits. Same thing goes with overheads; in multi wars, overhead switches don't occur nearly as much as in proper 1v1ing. The far more important factor - in fact, usually the deciding factor - is how well people respond to calls - and I don't think that's a really impressive skill. I'm also not a part of FD anymore. But I was with them while they were #1. I was also offered to join TNB lol.
  7. I mean CStaff is good... it's just not good as the others. And yeah I have access to like maxed mage minus 3 or 4 attack...
  8. 3:3 C6 Smalls are really nice by the way. ~10K xp each for 5 minutes per. Compare to 500 xp for 2 minutes per on C1's. Marginal xp per hour: (10000-500)/((5-2)/60) = 190K xp/hr Absolute xp per hour: 10000/(5/60) = 120K xp/hr Would be good to do them for ~f20-40.
  9. This man speaks the truth. Especially in general discussion, where it's always the same group of elitists who starts pointing out everything wrong about everyone else minus other elitists. Sadly, there is a reason behind this. We usually target people who post unfounded posts based mostly on opinion.
  10. Do t9 and t10 bloodragers have much difference? I might charm-in and get 91 if it helps. Not really. Also, the hood trick takes a while to get used to.
  11. OVERVIEW FOR SAFE PVP. I own all three. I also have extensive pvp experience. Maul: Very good. The extra accuracy is absolutely amazing for both KOing and normal hits. Works well with melee kiting. Only downside is high veng kickback. CLS: Safe pvp is one of the only good settings for CLS. Even so, it's nowhere near as impressive as maul, and is not as reliable as rapier. With that said, it is not a terrible choice. It can still hold its own, and gives you the opportunity to get lucky. Rapier: Best for tribriding (maul should be used as a sidearm for barrage into melee kiting) OVERALL RANK ORDERS. Comes from extensive experience using all 5. Order denotes priority of getting them. Overall: Rapier >> CBow > Maul > CStaff > CLS. Safe PvP: Maul > CBow > Rapier = CLS > CStaff. Dangerous PvP: Maul > Rapier = CLS >> CBow > Cstaff. PvM (bandos w/o Div): Maul > Rapier > CLS PvM (bandos w/ Div): CLS > Rapier PvM (TD's): Depends on speed and playstyle PvM (sara): Maul > CLS > Rapier PvM (DK's): Rapier > CBow > CStaff > CLS > Maul PvM (slayer): Rapier >> CBow
  12. Cute. I was part of FD and TR. I know how to multi-war, and I'm good at it. Bridding takes so much more individual skill. It's a shame that most people are terrible at it. As an example, Legendslobby (a cc of pro brids, we basically own W68) scrimmed a ranked clan in 1v1 - forgot who. We had no food. They had 2x ops and full brews. We still won, 2/2 times. We also won 1/1 times in multi. As a comparison of skills: Multi: -- Tanking -- Piling -- Spotting Bpiles -- Keeping Distance -- DSpear speccing -- Praying 1v1: -- Tanking -- Keeping Distance -- Farcasting -- Switching -- Knowing what to switch -- PJ avoidance -- KOing -- Praying/SS balance
  13. I agree. I feel like we don't really use them. But I never really minded because someone else always ended up mining (seeing as I can't) or making the pouch(es) I also think having one person with souls + waters + earths is well worth it. The curse gives -10% defense and only costs 3 inventory spaces (+ getting lucky with soul / water / earth rune drops) I was meaning to ask you about Summons in your video. I've almost never seen combat familiars used, and my own tests with Tier 7 variants were.... dissapointing (alright, I know they're Tier 7, but I'll be damned if a Magic-Based summon can't hit a forgotten warrior.). Ignoring, for the moment, the time producing the pouches, how powerful are tier 10 Bloodragers against the various dungoneering monsters? The familiars themselves don't do that much damage. Theyre mostly for bosses. The special attack greatly reduces boss defense and is stackable.

  15. The extra damage you do in the time it takes to make gloves/boots is far more than the damage youd get because of the str boost This is of course assuming your keyer always points you to GD's. even if not, you should be fishing instead. And when that isn't an option? (which sometimes there are those moments, not often, but there are) I don't see how spending 20 seconds making gloves/boots a waste of time. This is assuming you aren't stupid about making them though. If you tele home to make them, then yea, you're wasting a lot of time. But if you have a good gatherer's ring, you'll get the two ore fast, and then you can just hold on to them until you find a furnace on the way. That is the ONLY way I can see making gloves/boots not be a waste. Any other time, you should be killing/doing puzzles/fishing. Even then, your priority should be ragers. To equip a whole team with ragers and scrolls takes a pretty substantial amount of ore (6-8?)

  17. i mean, he does have an infinite supply of novite battleaxes. dont wanna mess w that
  18. DClaws's damage distribution isn't uniform like that of the DDS, so the expected hit from Claws might be higher. Plus it's significantly more accurate. With that said, I think DDS still might win out against 0 defense because of the 2 added specs.
  19. So we shouldn't trust wikipedia either. Theyre all terrible sources! Don't cite them! If you really care to find out, test it out instead of just guessing.
  20. Korasi's damage is also reduced by monsters with high magic defense, I believe. And DDS I *think* is slightly better than claws on 0 defense.
  21. Woox16 brings 5, for comparison :P Woox16 also SS flashes which is really hard to get down reliably on your first run. There's also no need to bring that many PPots anyway. I typically finish my two overloads and bring 8-9 brews and 8-9 ppots.
  22. More brews actually if it's your first few times. Also either start off with your titan summoned or bring a bob to carry a few things and then summon.
  23. "Finally some ore appears" So if you're at 10 HP in a room full of shades and mages, you'd rather have a platebody than a few food. Please give me a screenshot of any level 100+ DGer with a Bob. Please also give me a video where a group of 100+ DGers (with ~2 Hexes) need to use more than an average of 10 food each on a boss. So why do people with 3 binds - hood plate weapon - die? I don't even know how to responds to this. First, you pretend as though someone who has armor does not need food. You clearly do not dungeoneer properly if you think so. Second, the video of our run is right in front of you. If you really care, try and time how much time we spend on cooking/fishing/wc. I would be highly skeptical if our team spent a collective 5 minutes on gathering food. Plus keep in mind that even when we do so, we usually make enough to help everyone out, instead of just gearing up one player.
  24. Ha, just noticed this. I can make a video of me not keying if that's something anyone would like to see. Ill probably be doing this too.
