  1. It is HORRIBLE to have a maxed player on your team unless they are the most focused and are keying. Otherwise, you have to keep bugging them to open skill doors, and a slow maxed player can add 10 minutes to a dungeon time. I can only remember one instance (in 21m DG xp) that not having a maxed player hurt the floor, and that was when a single dead door (one nobody could open, even with potions) blocked off every bonus room. Regardless, we finished the floor in 19 minutes and got about 2/3 the xp. Communication is probably the biggest obstacle in dungeoneering, and voice chat makes this much, much better. For a perm team, it's pretty much a must. I normally key 30-35 minutes. In a team with a maxed person who was terrible at DG, I clocked in about an hour.
  2. Got 4x stomp in a row and still managed ~40 mins for c1s
  3. Quickswitch is only disabled if you are being attacked. You can be in combat (i.e. attacking something) and still be able to QS
  4. I think CKS > Ely for range vs range pvp, not sure though. 30 extra defense ~ 10-15% hit less (30/250 ~ 12%); + 2-7% damage reduction
  5. our perm team is preparing to do this atm. Anyway to the tif staff, i'd still like a reply about if anyone wants to collab with me on a perm team matching project.
  6. Sometimes it seems C weapons degrade faster when you are beeing atked by multiple monsters, i dont know for sure. There is a difference between attacking several targets at once, and beeing targeted by several opponents at once (i think) your other point: Definetly! Sol's runesaving and no degrading makes it the obvious choice for PvM in my opinion CStaff is primarily a PvP weapon, with only slightly better stats than Sol - but definetly worth it if you do High level safe PvP like i do (and The Ancient does aswell, i think..) I got my Chaotics: Maul, rapier, cbow, staff in that order - and is very happy aout every single 1 of them Yeah, I'll still be using SOL for rex. not worth the risk to bring cstaff.
  7. I pretty strongly disagree with this- when I used a tyro body mages still kicked my ass, and the melee def on plate is better. Plus no negative attack stats. Meh you're probably right. I've tested neither.
  8. Quick answer would be platebody. Leatherbody might be better in some scenarios but it's pretty unlikely. The platebody is a better bind because people typically pray mage when there are mages/necros/books; so unless you do something different in that scenario, bind the plate. While I agree, the point was brought up that range defense actually doesn't help you that much, whereas magic defense does significantly. I'm not completely sure about this though.
  9. CLS might be better for pvp than either. hard to say though. also depends on how quickly you switch and what pvp settings you prefer.
  10. This too. Plus most of your freetime should be spent gating places anyway. Quick answer would be platebody. Leatherbody might be better in some scenarios but it's pretty unlikely.
  11. Whatever it is, it's so insigificant you shouldn't care about them. C1s arent for xp, theyre for prestige resetting.
  12. Boosts from equipment only affect 1 target Boosts from increased magic level affect all targets Does that mean I could overload when bursting/barraging and hit 21% higher? Good. More cost efficient would be to use wolpertinger scrolls
  13. Very often I die AFTER I emergency GS somewhere. Youre not doing it right. Are you sure youre using GS or GGS?
  14. Oh wow, I was trying out soloing but I was getting 6 floors done in 30 mins. Though I think my times got messed up with Stomp that tricky basterd, and maybe the Skinweaver. What was the xp like for you? Are you sure you're doing c1? They definitely should not be taking that long. And those are times are for floors w/o stomp. XP was about 700-1000 per
  15. I think most people would say maul, but after extensive experience in PvP i would say CLS, especially if you don't already have rapier. Why? Shields are crucial in safe pvp. If you need extra accuracy, you always have the option of using a defender. No such option for maul. Veng kickbacks are very dangerous when using maul Maul's main benefit is that it can be used for KO's; however, it is not very reliable. CLS is meant to be a DPS weapon, and it does a good job at it. Of course, you can always just use both maul+CLS or maul+rapier, if you're pro enough :)
  16. Boosts from equipment only affect 1 target Boosts from increased magic level affect all targets After some basic testing I found that (heuristically) CStaff isn't substantially better than SOL. Still, not a bad 4th-5th option and I think it's better than the shields, provided that arc/spec/dfs aren't expensive for your budget.
  17. stonewall, correct me if im wrong, but basically i think you mean: don't post unfounded opinions on this thread rather, post statements which are founded on logic and evidence which still, i think, can be opinions, just not unfounded and meaningless ones.
  18. You do know that a Chaotic Rapier has a slash style, right? He's tellin' the truth! He's not trolling, I promise. Yes I know, and if you get 6-manned on a clue by revs, you won't have the rapier to get back there. Rapier protects over virtually nothing. :( Whatever, just go back to your grave and pick it up again, right? Except when your internet/computer dies and then you have no way of getting it back without calling a IRL friend to bless for you. People underestimate risk
  19. Lycopus gives both strong melee and strong range WG gives strong mage And the main benefit is that you do GD's faster... not for the boss. All the extra herbs you don't use can be eventually put to use at the boss. Plus the times where you DONT get herb drops and need to pot for a door this will be very handy. Obviously you would only start building this stuff when A) you have cash B) there's no GD's C) other teammates are good enough to help the keyer gate. If your other teammates are noobs and messing around, you should probably be helping the keyer gate - that's more important than strongpots
  20. So I was thinking that the best use of the initial money you get would be to make a farming patch and grow 2x lycopus (for strongs & puzzle doors) and 1x WG. That way you never have to worry about herbs for opening doors and you get strong pots. A third lycopus is probably good later on, to plant before you get your altar. Total cost: 9000 WG 10500 x2 Lyc 1000 x5 Claws 11500 Farm Patch Total Cost: 46500 GP
  21. if you're curious, I was soloing C1s yesterday and averaged 30 mins for 10 floors.
  22. Does CSB count as a shield for tank ring?
  23. even so, making armor should be one of your lower priorities. if you have spare time (which you legitimately might), you should either be fishing, cooking, or making strong pots.
  24. But they won't do that because they're 1000x better than the rest of us. They think we will only slow them down from 20 minute larges to 30 minute larges, OH NOES!!! :ohnoes: 10 minutes is a lot.
  25. Your trolling is getting tiring - amusing at first, now just silly
