  1. Awesome pics  You remind me a lot of a friend of mine.. any excuse for dressing up and she's there lol. Are you studying performing arts or doing it professionally? I'm in my last year of school, studying Drama & Music Tech. The show picture was from after professional-standard show the school did at a professional theatre. I'm probably not gonna do many shows in the future. I'm more interested in the music/singing side of performing arts so that's the road I'm heading down.
  2. I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking straight when I was searching, it looked interesting and before I knew it I'd added my thoughts. THEN I saw the post date. Oooops....
  3. I know not many people know me at the moment, but I thought I'd share some pics anyway. I'm the sort of person who you don't really know until you've seen me. If that makes any sense... and I don't like hiding behind a computer. Most people would say arrogant, I'd say... comfortably flamboyant. [hide] This is me in March or April last year, the only picture that exists of me in my glasses. I would call myself a filthy hippy. Dark and disturbing, from the queue for the seventh Harry Potter book. Well, I am from that generation, after all! A Rocky Horror Picture Show evening. Halloween 07 - I went as Sally from the Nightmare before Christmas. A bit TOO made-up - well I had an excuse. The afterparty for a show I'd just done, still in stage makeup. Well... it's only a much more exaggerated version of what I usually wear. My 18th Birthday party - 60s/70s themed. My costume. If only you could see just how amazing the jacket really is... [/hide]
  4. All my memories seem to involve fancy dress. [hide]Queueing up outside Tesco at midnight with a bunch of my friends, to get the 7th Harry Potter book. We thought it would be a good idea to go in fancy dress, not realising the REAL fancy dress party was at Waterstones. The rest of my friends chickened out of dressing up, but I'd already made a Death Eater costume so I did it anyway. Nobody else in the entire queue was in fancy dress and I got some very strange looks, but it was very fun! A Rocky Horror Picture Show night, where they showed the film and we all came in costume... I dunno if anyone's ever been to one but they're great fun. I went as Columbia and I pieced the costume together myself, about 3 hours before the evening. This involved many, many safety pins... My 70s themed 18th birthday party in December was a perfect end to the year. I absolutely loved it, everyone turned up in costume and I loved every minute. This is me in my costume before the party started. [/hide]
  5. Bill Bailey is my all time favourite. Man's a genius. "I got ham but I'm not a hamster" No? Well... never mind then. My least favourite would have to be Jimmy Carr. I just don't find him funny at all... and he looks like a ventriloquist's dummy.
  6. 1. Jethro Tull 2. Styx 3. Rory Gallagher (Ok, he's an artist but whatever, he's one of my favourites) 4. Floyd 5. Genesis (early stuff)
  7. I have one of those playlist things with all my favourite songs on it, because it's irritating having to chose ones that aren't even on myspace anyway and I like showing off the different songs I like to people who fall onto my page. Oh my.
  8. EDIT ohhhh... I just realised what I've done, I've bumped a thread more than 2 months old.... oh no.... I'm sorry :( I won't do it again. [hide]Vocals = Dennis DeYoung OK, I adore his voice & Styx in general. I know a lot of people don't, but I do and that's what matters for this. Lead Guitar = David Gilmour His guitar style is haunting and beautiful and I love it. Gotta be in there. Rhythm Guitar = Rory Gallagher I think he's an incredible blues guitarist, and I'd have him as lead any day but... well I wanted Gilmour & Gallagher in the band and I can't imagine Gilmour doing rhythm. Bass = Phil Lynott One of the greatest bassists out there in my opinion. Keyboards/Hammond Organ = Jon Lord One of my most favouritest keyboardists ever, gotta have him in there. That Deep Purple stuff is some of the best keyboard work around. If he's not available I'll go for Rick Wakeman, purely because I like saying his name. Drums = John Bonham This band needs an extra kick in the head. Who else but Bonzo? Oh no, I've run out of members!! PLEEEASE let me put another one in! OK well I'm going to anyway. Mandolin/Flute/Assorted multi-instrumental-ism = Ian Anderson He's my favourite musician of all time, no dream-team band would be complete without him. And of course, this mess of a clashing-styles band would be produced by Mr. Brian Eno! Mainly for the same reasons as Rick Wakeman - his name is fun to say. And I think he looks a bit like a duck. Style of music = Stadium Blues-Folk-Prog Rock[/hide]
  9. Songs From The Wood - Jethro Tull will always be my favourite album of all time ever, every single track on there is gold. Other favourites = Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd Pieces of Eight - Styx Foxtrot - Genesis The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust.... - David Bowie Photo Finish - Rory Gallagher
  10. I love my name, I wouldn't ever chose anything else. Smi = my nickname Mandos = I play mandolin... And I have never seen a Smi or a Mandos. Ever. I also made an account called Nam0 Mand0s (with 0s because Namo Mandos was taken) after the Tolkien one. But I never go on that. I logged onto him for the last Halloween event and he was still wearing the stuff from 2006. But that's beside the point... I once made an account called Edgar Spoon. That was short lived as well... I was on there for 5 minutes and got bored. Other unoriginal names I can't stand are... Killer, Ki11er, Kill3r (or any varient + numbers) Anyone named after a band/artist, particularly Slipknot & Eminem. Any "Babe" type name... Too many Xs, Os and Is that have nothing to do with the name. What annoys me most of all is when these people are talking to NPCs, doing quests etc and they're introducing themselves... the thought that they are introducing themselves as "Hi, I'm Ki113r Babe54353654" It makes me shudder! How can you put up with that?
  11. I'm a girl. I play runescape, because I like medieval-type settings, and I find it fun. But I can quite honestly say that I hardly ever get anyone commenting on my female character. Once, I got a guy saying that I must be a girl because I'm so polite. That's all he said. And then this other time, I was wandering around Al Kharid and a guy comes up to me assuming (rightly) that I am a girl. Immature kid. And he started saying I was hot... well I don't need to go into my opinions about that because anyone with an IQ over 50 has the same opinion. Basically I just told him I was a bloke and he said I was sick and disgusting. Another time, I was walking from Varrock to Edgeville with my RL friend, who is a guy but plays a female character... and this immature sounding guy came up and started hitting on us. I just think it's a bit pathetic if you feel the need to do that in an online game... especially where you can see the pixels the characters are made from, when we all look pretty much the same anyway... I never really feel the need to point out I'm a girl, probably because it doesn't come up all that often. Hearing about those things though, does kind of make me think that people are complete morons. a) Just because I'm a girl on Runescape doesn't mean I'm here to satisfy the um... urges of 12 year old kids. B) Just because I'm a girl on Runescape doesn't mean I have no life. c) Just because I'm a girl on Runescape doesn't mean I am here to be hit on. Wow, turns out I have a lot to say on the subject after all!

  13. Believe it or not, the game hasn't really changed much for me. I'm not even that bothered about the new price system - I don't mind if it's higher or lower because I know that from now on whatever I buy will be the RIGHT price. It's just a bit better for lazy people like me, because I don't have to log into the forums to get what I want. I don't go in the wilderness enough for the wilderness updates to affect me. Sure, I'm an agility nut, but there are other courses - I've been using the ape atoll one for ages before the wilderness updates. I never PKed so that doesn't affect me... I try to stay out as much as possible, so I'm really not all that bothered about the wilderness. I keep playing because it kills time, it's something to do in between the other parts of my life. It's still fun, it's still just a game and as long as I don't get too bored with it, I'm still going to be playing.
  14. I don't like the fact that you use your real name on facebook. I for one don't like people on the internet to know my real name. It's not a nice thought. Plus I don't like the fact you can't customise facebook colours. On the other hand, I don't like over customised myspace profiles, but if they're done well they can look quite nice. So myspace =D
  15. City Guide City Guide City Guide. When I was just starting members and I wanted to know where to find something in, say, Ardougne, I had to Google search it! Noooo!! We neeeed a city guide here, I've always thought that. You've got dungeon maps, mining sites, you've already got Keldagrim and the underground goblin place that I can't spell... might as well tell us about the cities too! It wouldn't be as difficult to update as a price guide would be, either.
  16. Maybe, although most people I know that look down on it just don't find it fun. I mean, it's not for everyone is it? I'm sure that because they're good at things like Xbox or whatever, (which I'm really not) then they would rather do that.
  17. In my oppinion, playing runescape does not = nerd. My reasoning? Well at my school everyone's just in this big social group that includes everyone. The groups exist, but nobody really pays any attention because we're old enough to realise everyone's unique and amazing in their own way... anyway, that's beside the point. The nerds like to talk about games, and I have never ONCE heard them mention any MMO, other than Guildwars (which I know nothing about). When someone mentions runescape to them, they look down on it. It's a fact really. I don't care much and I know most here know that :P So basically, from my experiance, most nerds (that I know, at least) don't go anywhere near MMOs. It might be because everyone's social life round here is exactly the same. Everyone does everything together, nobody misses out unless they really do sit here all day and play RS. And nobody wants to sacrifice their social life for a few levels or a quest. Basically everyone I know stays in on Sundays to chill down from the week, unless they're working. The only people I know that DO play games non-stop, are still amazing people. But there ain't very many of them. And look how many people play something like WOW? I've seen many copies of that game on loads of my guy friends shelves, whatever "group" they fit into. I suppose I'm probably the only girl I know that plays Runescape... and I don't play any other games so... yep. :o Shocker!! Basically, the way I see it, who cares if you're a nerd in the end? EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW would rather be out doing stuff they enjoy with their friends than sat playing an MMO. Even the "nerds".
  18. Thanks for pointing that out, I changed it now. Sure, I'd love to have more people to do slayer with although you never know what tasks you're going to get! To be honest, I don't really mind what my levels are... I'm not a "raise one, leave the rest" kinda girl. I just do whatever I feel like doing most of the time. I don't have the patience to work on one skill all the time, I think I'd get bored with it too easilly. I think that's why I've not been doing so many slayer tasks recently, although it doesn't mean I'll stop! I think the way it's going, my agility is probably going to get a bit higher though. I'm absolutely in love with that skill at the moment!
  19. Yes! Yes! Absolutely. Although I'm not sure about the decapitation thing, I think that having different animations for for hitting in different ways would be great. Speed idea is brilliant as well. Support!!
  20. Exactly! This is what I have been saying ever since I started playing runescape. Goals aren't worth achieving unless you find them fun, because fun is the whole point of this game. Who cares that I'm the only person in the world without a fletching cape? I just don't like fletching! I do set goals for myself, yes, but only ones that I find fun to achieve. It's as simple as that really. I wouldn't like to boast about my new firemaking skillcape, because it would not be something I'd be proud to own.
  21. Thanks very much I only have to achieve 50 in RC, Con, Hunter and Farming now!
  22. Thanks Sachiko, I'd almost given up on this one but thanks to you my faith has been restored! Woop woop!
  23. That there ARE parallell universes And everything is EXACTLY the same in them.
