  1. Alright, thank you. I was hoping to complete my mask set by using the hook to help me buy a green mask, but it seems getting the junk isn't worth it. I'll just get the hook, wait for it to rise, and train other skills. Over time I'll have both the junk I need and the higher price (though the mask will inevitably rise in price). Thanks all.
  2. So I was browing the RSOF and noticed that the pirate hook I earned runs for 20-30M, rather than the 2.2M on the GE. I was absent from the game for a number of months, so I'm not really familiar with this whole "junk trading" concept. From what I understand, if I wanted to sell my hook for the extra 18M, I would need to gather 18M worth of junk? But wouldn't I be having the same net profit? I don't really own any junk in my bank, so I'd have to make it or buy it, but then that wouldn't that time/money cancel out the extra money I sell the hook for? I'm just trying to understand where the profit is. Any help/advice is appreciated.
  3. If you use offensive language ingame and get muted, then you also can't post on the Forums. That's what he's talking about. But if you've been temporarily or even permanently banned in the Forums, then you can usually get ingame. There are very few exceptions.
  4. Well, for one thing, if you are muted ingame there is *no way* that you will be able to post on the Forums. Jagex has established this rule to try and prevent flaming or rule-breaking on the Forums before it happens. However, what I feel is unfair is the fact that a player can get in trouble on the Forums and not often have their ingame account affected. The only exception of this is for serious offences, such as RWITing or other such major rule-breaks. But if a player merely spams on the Forums, regardless of whether or not they receive a Forum strike, their ingame account will remain untouched 9 times out of 10. This, of course, only makes it easy for that player to go ingame and flame about such things, including causing havoc, insulting or harassing the Forum Moderator that gave them their ban (which they *don't* appreciate of course), and other such things. I feel that Jagex should change this, I just honestly don't see anything happening about it. At least not yet. We can always have hope I suppose.
  5. To be honest, I completely understand why Jagex performed this update and I'm in full support behind it. However, I'm not too fond on the limit, as many players aren't. Many players seem to want the cap gone, or enlarged. Yet, this wouldn't solve the RWTing problem, especially now that Jagex has presented the ideas to players that may not have previously considered trading this way. Instead, I feel that a system similiar to the Wilderness would be more suitable for the Duelling Arena. The higher the level difference between two players, the less they can stake. The smaller the difference, the higher the difference. This might eliminate some of the RWTing problems *and* satisfy the staking cap. The real problem lies in figuring out just how much is reasonable. What do you all think about this?
  6. You also must realise that school has begun for several players, so many people have grabbed their books and headed off to the classrooms. The activity may pick up again once students get into the "groove" of things and schedules are situated. Until then, expect some decreased attendance.
  7. I generally hit "66", as it's close to the Enter on the Number Pad and 6 happens to be my favourite number.
  8. Well, for one thing, I'm a girl. That might affect my choice somewhat. However, I honestly don't see what's wrong with a guy wearing a skirt. In fact, I think it's a bold move and something that shows confidence. I know some folks that wouldn't be caught dead in a skirt and would rather have no armour than armour that has a skirt on it (other than Guthans and Veracs, I guess). 'Tis a shame, if you ask me. It takes a true man to wear a skirt. (Where's Thrander when you need him?) :P
  9. Aye, I've got a Yo-yo. I'm so easily amused, so I find them great to just mess around with. :P
  10. What are your goals for the game 5 years from now?
  11. If I remember correctly, I have around 46. I actually use mine quite a bit, but I just never seem to get the plant random (no complaints here).
  12. I think the number one thing that others seem to forget is that Mods are players too. I know this has already been brought up, but this is a very important point to make. First of all, no one's perfect. That includes Mods. They're bound to make mistakes, but some misinterpret this as meaning that the Mod doesn't know what (s)he's doing, or is a bad Mod. This is definitely not the case. Secondly, Mods aren't robots in any shape or form, so they have wants and the desire to have fun as well. They can't spend every waking moment reporting other players or issuing warnings. Just as every other player, they seek to enjoy themselves while playing this GAME. Besides, there are only so many Mods. Expecting a Mod to be there whenever a player breaks the rules is simply asking for the impossible. In my opinion, there are too many standards placed on Mods nowadays. Give them a break.
  13. Actually, I know this is possible. I have a level 4 skiller friend who is able to fish in Shilo. He was very proud when he was let in, so I assume it's simply just very hard for the low levels (considering the quest they must complete).
  14. I simply woodcut. I've been woodcutting almost purely for about a year now, and I chop only Magic logs. I know I probably sound insane here, but I find it fun. Usually, I have the RSOF up to chat on, and occasionally I'll also have the TIF open. This way, I can chat in-game to my friends, those around me, and enjoy myself on the Forums. I find it fun, though I know others might not. :P Other than that, perhaps you should try out a mini-game? I love BA, and I find it's a great way to pass the hours. Also, you could try making several suits of armour, venturing to a F2P world, and hand them out. If it becomes too stressfull (so many PMs!!), just stop and take a break. That's really all I can offer you, considering all I do anymore is woodcut. Good luck though. :
  15. I'm nearly always in World 98 at the Magic Trees in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. I've been there for several months now. Since last August, I believe. :
  16. I've got my Woodcutting cape to enter. I think the Rubber Chicken adds a *special* touch. 8-)
  17. I've got so many, I don't even know where to begin! I have a full friends list in-game, with around 195/200 of the players active. I keep those extra five on there for memory's sake, just in case they choose to log on one day. I can only list a few, though there are really *so many* people that mean so much to me (no order): Fire God --> My brother Gcubemasta13 --> My love Relax Cloud1 --> Great times, great times.... Bearski13 --> We've shared many laughs, cries, and memories Bunni Killer --> Whether she wants to accept it or not, I really enjoy her honesty, trust, and company Lila Roze --> Ah, how could one even begin to describe Lila... :P Bluefire006 --> She's one of those people you just can't help but to love There are so many others, too. I really only named the people that I talk to for hours each day. There's also Suox, My World Plz, Wally B, Korey467, and *so* many others.
  18. I hope ya'll know that most of this, if not all of it, isn't Jagex's fault. If their router is crashing again, then it's out of their reach. I'm sure they'll do all that they can, but it's entirely unfair to place all the blame on them. :?
  19. The loging servers work in an organized system: Certain accounts are "attached" to certain servers. From the looks of it, one of them crashed while the others remained open. This means I might be booted off one of my accounts, but not another. From what I know, it's completely random, and simply depends on how "lucky" you are. :
  20. I'm almost always wearing my Woodcutting Cape, simply because it matches the rest of my outfit. :
  21. Mario Sunny, I'm not sure about that, but I do know that in the Knowledge Base Jagex mentions that the Ring of Stone possess some powers unknown at the present time. *Hint hint* Could be an update? :P (Hence my old collection)
  22. I actually like the Ring of Stone. I had a small collection back a while ago, and I even had a Suggestions Thread that was implemented in the game. Even though you can be attacked while morphed, and you DO show up on the mini-map, I still love them. They're great for a bit of fun. : I also don't mind the old graphics. Personally, I prefer the old rocks anyways.
  23. From reflecting on my growth during the many years I've played RuneScape, I agree that I've changed--but I've changed for the better. You could easily argue that this has to do partly with maturity levels, which I'm sure plays a large factor in the changes I see within myself. However, at the same time, I've been with this game throughout all those years, and it's influenced my morals, attitude, and overall outlook on life greatly. For one thing, I'm much more tolerant of other people. I'm not what you would call patient, but since playing RuneScape, I've noticed myself reaching out to others much more and offering them assistance, even if it takes them 3 hours to understand how to use a shield easel. This game has taught me many social lessons, and how to respond to different situations appropriately without causing harm to anyone. While I can't recall a specific example at the moment (hey, it's been a long day! :P), I assure you that I deal with pressure much better, and I can know handle myself during times of conflict, sadness, and confusion. At the same time, my attitude has grown increasingly more positive. I've always liked to think of myself as optimistic, but this game has simply improved that mindset even further. No matter how impossible something might seem--a skill, killing a new boss monster, or saving up for that lovely set of Guthans--I tackle it with the best I've got, and continue to do so until I reach my goal(s). Plus, before beginning to play RuneScape, my online speaking skills were far below par. I'd say things like: how r u doin dude? havin' a good day, b/c im bored. Over time, I began to realize that this form of communication wasn't about to get me anywhere, and I was layered with flaming comments, one after another. I quickly picked up on the better, less brutal, use of the English language. Ever since then, I've used grammar and proper punctuation--to the best of my ability. ;) RuneScape has also given me hope when concerning the community. while some might argue that the RS community is actually deteriorating (which in some measures I couldn't agree more), I also know that a change is possible. I've seen time and time again players improve themselves and then attempt to share their enlightenment with others. I've applied this to real life in the sense that I give others more chances to find themselves, and to prove to me that they can be a different, better person. While I'm not trying to change someone's "personality makeup", I know that there's good in everyone, and that's what I try to focus on when I speak to others. Without RuneScape, I doubt I'd be this tolerate. So as you can see, RuneScape *has* changed me, but I like to think it was for the better. :)
  24. To be honest, there's really only one skill that I even desire to train: Woodcutting. I've been doing it for months, and I simply LOVE it! :D As for training it, I don't really have much motivation other than to see what I'm capable of, and to do something I sincerely enjoy doing. I only cut Magic logs, since level 75 (I'm level 99 now), and while woodcutting, I always use the Official Forums. These help to pass the time, and in a sense, encourages me to continue cutting. I don't do it for the skill cape, for the experience, or for the "fame"--I do it because I love it. :P Woodcutting FTW!
