  1. were  Anyway, it could be an interesting skill, but I would prefer a cool minigame...if it was actually useful (not like agility pyramid) it would be fun, minigames are fun.
  2. I disagree about it being one of the fastest to get. Some quests take several hours to do, and while I do admit to having used some guides, I now do every single quest the day it comes out (without a guide). From a variety of sources, I can state that most of the skills he mentioned are faster (combat if you get a great pc clan, cooking is just plain fast, firemaking is pretty fast with yews and not bad with maples, fletching's a bit slower but it's still fast, and thieving is also fast). I could lvl up any of those skills (except maybe combat because I'm not in a pc clan) at least one lvl in less time than some quests take me.
  3. I agree with the editor. You will never learn until you screw up... Several years ago, I fell for a trust scam, and lost my green mask (300k at the time). Now, that hurt at the time, but it wasn't too hard to make back, and I can guarantee you that if I hadn't fallen for that I would have fallen for another scam later, probably one that made me lose a LOT more (such as trading a phat for 150m feathers thinking they're 10 ea - an acquaintance of mine recently did that, lost a nice 75m :( ) As it is, since I fell for a scam early on, I learned my lesson and haven't been scammed since...protecting against a certain scam will never work, it will just develop a more sophisticated, more damaging scam (such as the fairly new willow scam, where they reduce the number they offer by a power of ten and play off people's lack of math skills) And, had you been lured into the wilderness while you were a noob and didn't have very many valuables, you would have learned your lesson, while as things stand you would probably wind up falling for a more complicated and damaging scam later on...because pain truly is the most effective teacher.
  4. My Disagrees =P~ Max hit on a player ever has been 108 \ A level 3 can hit it too! Figure out how :P Castle wars, crush them with the rocks :D Anyway, I think the highest I've ever hit (w/o dharok) was like 35, but I've never bothered to max out my str bonus and see what I can get...just put prayer on when I was slaying to see what I could hit
  5. Go to world 2 north of falador, and at peak times you can see like 20 at once... Seen a half wine...owned a half wine...they have to be the hardest thing ever to sell, but they're not that rare. Disc of returning isn't particularly rare either...probably far fewer half wines than discs. Anyway, rare items probably don't cut it, besides it's not an item at all. I would have to say being able to spend 5 minutes in f2p at my lvl (104 atm) without being asked for stuff like 10 times
  6. My friend decided to attack cyrano when he was rcing (he's not a pker, just thought it would be cool), but by the time he was ready and I'd figured out hypercam to record it, cyrano decided to log off (if he'd done just one more run we would've gotten the video)... So, I can't post that. Something I've done is, every time I see a famous player, I grab a rubber chicken and take a screenshot of me whacking them :D But those are on another computer so I can't post them either
  7. If i cut willows then i will have to burn like, 3 times as many logs. Thanks anyway. Ectofunctus gives 400% experience, while gilded altar gives 350% experience...however, you save so much time with gilded altar that when you factor in the opportunity cost (what you could be making/doing in the time you save/waste), gilded altar is far better. As far as the woodcutting and firemaking goes, willows are better for the wc exp but yews make the firemaking much nicer, and it's easier to chat while you woodcut than it is while firemaking, unless you sacrifice a lot of speed. Anyway, you have very nice stats, I would just strongly recommend that you use a gilded altar. As far as I'm concerned, total level and bank aren't really that closely tied. In fact, from my experience there's a bit of an inverse relationship there. I play almost as much as my friend, but she spends more time skilling and I spend more time making money, so she has a total level about 200 higher than mine and not much money (spending money on skills also helps the inverse relationship), while I have quite a bit of money, at the expense of lower skills. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with any bank, even if some are less impressive than others... Very nice stats, 10/10
  8. One of my friends in SU (his clan) told me that he's inactive until the 12th, she was trying to beat him to 99 mining and be the first in SU with 99 mining. Anyway, I'm pretty sure he hasn't quit again. As far as who the best is, I'm not really sure, and as so many people have mentioned, having a tip.it account doesn't make you a tip.iter, and the question can also be answered based on a lot of criteria.
  9. My first run was ages ago, I think it went pretty smoothly, though I don't remember. I'm pretty sure I did 7-8 runs and then got bored and left it alone for awhile. Later on, my friend wanted me to go, so I went, did two runs with her, and got my first item (verac brassard) on the second run. I went to w2, sold it, and logged off. Got on later that day, went back, did 2 runs, got another brassard on the second run, sold it, and logged off. Then, I logged on the next day, went to barrows, did 2 runs, got another brassard on the second run, sold it, logged off, and have been hooked on barrows ever since. So far I have gotten 43 items (0 spears.....but 4 brassards and 4 guth helms are nice :D )
  10. I've seen them all in vids, but I don't know which ones I've seen ingame. I'm pretty sure I've seen most of them though (can't recall a farming cape ingame, other than that I either know I've seen it or just have no idea)
  11. I get pms from people I don't know all the time, but what usually happens is it's someone I used to know, then I forgot who they were and cleaned out my friends list. I usually just add them and chat for a bit, then they log off and I probably remove them again the next day without thinking. My private chat is almost always on, so removing old friends isn't a problem.
  12. I was alching a few days ago, and I got 4 drill demons in the same day. Now I just need full mime (dropped a full set for bank space ages ago, but don't actually care), full zombie (still only one of those events :? ), one mime emote and both zombie emotes.
  13. My friend maxed his melee stats and ranged at dust devils, so there is a benefit of chain hunting there. Of course, he started before the drop rate was decreased and got 7 chains along the way, so that wasn't too bad either (like 150k kills total, I think)
  14. Glad I know what happens now...I knew something was fishy when a lvl 118 told me he liked my phat, then his friend (124 I think) pmed me, saying he heard I knew his friend (I wouldn't even call it meeting, really), and asking me if I'd like to go chill at their house...I was like, something's wrong, but I just told them I was busy (I was).
  15. Then you are just as guilty as him of luring. Not funny at all. If you suspect someone of luring, just report them and leave. How is he guilty of luring? The guy was planning on killing him, he saw through it and had some fun...besides, reporting does no good because jagex's official stance is that the wilderness is well marked and luring, while against the spirit of the game, is legal (I disagree, but still nullifies reporting, so why not deal out justice your own way if you can?)
  16. I was abyss rcing, and I'd just potted up and ran out to fight a pker who'd attacked me and poisoned me (annoying but no mage = no chance of kill)...well, he was already fighting someone, so I got my rc gear back out. Then, this funny noob decides he can kill me with mith arrows and no entangle/ice spell...well, he hits 0, next time I swap my mith pick for a dds but keep my rc gear on (still potted from first guy)...so, I run out with a full inventory of pure ess, he attacks me, hits a few 0s, and I 3 spec him as he runs out...I mostly laugh, and pick up like 200 mith arrows, equip them, and go make my nats
  17. That happened to a friend of mine, he got his mom hooked and now he hardly ever gets to play :o
  18. But it would still make it a lot less special...because, no matter what it proves, the cape would still be trimmed...
  19. Total: 1610 Net Worth: 170m As far as I'm concerned, there's no direct correlation. I have as much money as I do because I spend time making money, because I find it fun. Others prefer skilling, so someone else can put in far more time than me and end up with far less money, though far higher skill total. Also, there is an inverse relationship between money and skill total to a certain extent. If I wanted to, I could sell my green phat and go buy 99 smithing and 99 firemaking, or some such thing. I would then have higher skill total and lower net worth. Basically, lots of skills take money, so with two people who play for comparable amounts of time, the one with more money will probably have lower skill total (not trying to be steriotypical or anything, some people could have both if they are a more efficient player)
  20. ...You do realize Spanish is spoken in Spain (hence the name), which is a part of Europe, don't you? Anyway, I'm learning French as a second language, so I'm hoping for a French translation, and if I had to guess I'd say either Spanish or French. That would be awesome, but Klingon isn't a complete language. I found someplace awhile back where John 3:16 was translated into Klingon, but some of the words ("soft", emotional, un-klingon type words like "loved") were left in english because they had no Klingon equivalent :P
  21. Yeah, what happened to Zaros?!? Anyway, I usually lean towards Saradomin, though given the choice I would always pick Zaros (kinda a conflict of interests but whatever...) Tears make me like Guthix a lot though...still, Saradomin has the best looking equipment IMO...
  22. I was at barrows (I mage in full verac no flail, and kill karil and ahrim with whip) and I got to karil...I got him in the tunnel so I was keeping my prayer low so I didn't waste prayer pots, and I lost connection. When my connection reestablished, I was in fally with all my stuff, I check my stat bar and it says I have 48 hp, I'm like "wth, how did I get to fally with 48 hp...then I started walking towards the bank and my stat page updated...turns out I had 2 hp left. Thank god I'd brought a ring of life, saved me several mil there
  23. To add on to Ginger_Warrior's post, when Sediti0n quit (he was almost maxed out at the time, right before hunter was released), he said that he had finally realized what his playing of runescape to the exclusion of all else had done to his life. That was why he quit when he did, without even getting the last few (2 I think?) construction levels to be maxed out. I don't know why N0valyfe quit, but I would venture that it was for some similar reason.
  24. I agree completely, it should give us to the nearest hour at the very least. I got on one day and checked that and it said later today, so I went to juna, couldn't get them, and decided to do something else. At around the same time *the next day* I went back and it still said I couldn't get them...I waited for 5 minutes, and then it let me get them. That was very frustrating... I agree with you 100% as far as putting runescape (or anything online) ahead of real life relationships with friends. However, you can't judge it by time spent playing. I probably play more than I should, however I still hang out with friends and do not consider myself obsessed. If you had said more than two years instead of more than a year, I would have pointed out that I have played for ~4 years, but one of my friends has played under 2 years and has far surpassed me in the game, and does place a higher value on her rs relationships than some of her real life relationships, and though it no longer falls under the "less than one year" category, she was just as obsessed with the game 2 months into it as she is now. The amount of time someone has been playing has no bearing on obsession. I know a few people who have been playing longer than I have, but have ~500 skill total because they play for EXTREMELY modest lengths of time...that's not obsession in my opinion, I got my skill total on a new account to 500 f2p in just a couple months of moderate playing. Sorry that block is a bit hard to read everyone, I'm not very good at breaking my comments up with spaces for ease of readability
  25. ummm ever wood cut in edgville? I'd beg to differ since theres two trees in there and both laugh at the direction of the other tree. so therefore if one tree is set at the north side and one at the south they can laugh at each other so your fact is indeed wrong. :shame: Regular trees dont become ents  And this is unconfirmed but is it true that you dont get tree spirits from regular trees as well? im not really sure :-s Actually, I have had a regular tree become an ent...I have to admit, I was surprised.
