"and then.. marla singer" :wall:   =P~ :3> :wall: :anxious:

storys posted there, do they have to be related to runescape?
-
something different: "a childs point of view"? where did it go? did you delete it? (i don't think non rs storys are excluded on this forum, at least there is no explicit rule.) do you still have it? oh and i just read the sticky: "call for submissions" you can actually get some royalities there. Seems they don't look for fan fiction, but your story here has nothing to do with rs anyway, besides the names.
-
Bubsa: movies of the 50ties :-s woha... reading the sticky, i know.. Ben Hur Free: Johnny Knoxville?! but after reading the IMDB comment maybe i give it a try. (can't say i like Johnny Knoxville or more what he stands for: JackAss -> gross). The Big Fish might be more something for me. thatnks for the tips though :D Have seen the others you mentioned. Final Fantasy is WAY better than FFVII in my opinion (both story and graphics) although it has some good parts (i love the white, peaceful room he sometimes suddenly stands in in the middle of the action). Back to the Future is good. Liked it much back when i saw it. Spaceballs is also okay, but not exactly the kind of movies i cherisy. Wayne's World is cool.
-
not if you meant the story to be funny =P just read your other (longer) story. you really don't need to worry about others appreciating your storys. just keep writing and you'll get appreciation anyway i'm sure.

 EDIT: oh the above comment was about nutty, not you =\ Impressionistic, Introverted, Romantic I REaLly hope you'll continue and eventually find the time to finish it. (Hope you are more determined than i am on such matters). yah just write on. i feel some of the chapters or in between of them could do with a little fleshing out (means making the plot more neat), but you can always do that at a later time (or not, if you don't want to 8-) ).

omg! if you really soak it up, it could make you cry

Yah it's a great movie. I have a really hard time telling wich are my favourite movies, because on the one hand there are such extraordinarys as eternal sunshine .. and on the other hand there are all those amazing action heavy blockbusters like x-men or pirates of the carribean. i think the greatest movie experience i ever had was matrix (damn am i common). i was sitting in the movie theater and had no idea, what i had to expect from this movie. i was just stunned about all the things that suddenly happend and how. every scene was just: wtf?

I'm a movie junkie and need more crack so please gimme some recommendations :D i like sci fiction, fantasy, animation and alternative movies and hate everything that's just cruel, violent and disgusting alÃÆÃâÃâá "saw". cube is okay since it is somewhat deeper. also i don't really like comedias, especially not blunt ones that are just stupid (like ace ventura), while true man show (to stay with jim carrey) is great. i'll give you some recommendations myself (those that come to my mind and aren't too well known): -telephone booth usually i'm not that much into thrillers, but this one is just awsome. the whole movie plays in a .. telephone booth (not a childrens movie, but should be okay for teenagers) -cellular to stay with the same author this one's a similar movie. not as good, but still unusal and very thrilling -eternal sunshine of the spotless mind very unusal love story, very surrealistic. wih noname actors like jim carrey, kate winslet, kirsten dunst and elijah woods (defintely not a childrens movie although nothing offensive at all and no violence) -the iron giant absolutely great animation movie. (and absolutely suitable for children and if you aren't one and don't like the movie, find a hard object and punch yourself with it) -crime city NOT sin city. never seen a movie that depicts violence so.. (realisticly!) violent. creeps under your skin. -dogville minimalistic to the degree, that buildings are just hinted at with chalk lines painted on the floor to indicate a wall. seems boring in the beginning, but as the plot unfolded it chilled me to the bone. depicts humanity in it's worst and you won't even notice it. -adaption same book author as eternal sunshine... (charlie kaufmann, also wrote being john malkovic). hard to describe. (funny sidenote: nicholas cage is fat in this movie) (some drugs and nudity in this one, but for sure it's not explicit. although i guess to a younger audience - not that i would be THAT old - the movie would just be boring) -mars attacks! usually i don't like stupid movies, but this one is an exception. tim burton movie -charlie and the choclate factory yah i know thisone is kinda new (although i read it's a remake). you really don't need to be 11 or younger to enjoy this one. -Princess Mononoke one of the best animation movies ever. all character in this movie have a motives and a personality. no one is just "good" or "evil" (it's completly suitable for children in case you wonder) -butterfly effect this one is about reality bending. creepy. -zhao wen zhou - the blade a violent asian movie, but it's coherent violence. kinda an epic, with a hero and such. somewhat unusal mood. -dark city surrealistic movie. although it has a dark mood it's not particularly violent. -akira one of the best mangas ever. -ghost in the shell 1&2 also a manga. i feel they are much more philosophical then akira. the second part is much harder to understand (as if the first part was that simple) -the game unusal, thrilling -they live the best john carpenter film in my opinon. those awsome sunglasses.. (no not because they look particular cool) -the usual suspects great movie. somekind of gangster story. i don't know anybody, who saw it coming and then it hits you. hm.. atm no other movies come to my mind. here's a list of better known movies i'd recommend you to watch if you haven't already: -the matrix (duh) -lord of war -final fantasy -the trueman show -crouching tiger, hidden dragon -fight club -Natural Born Killers -the devils advocate also i enjoyed (although those movieas aren't as sophisticated as the ones above) movies like: -X-men (1&2) -Star Wars (all parts) -Dune -Star ship troopers -Alien (i liked all parts, with the exception of alien vs predetor) -pirates of the carribean (great movie, haven't seen the new one yet though) -conan the barbarian (very well done movie) -The Crow -Robin Hood (the one with Kevin Costner =P. loved this movie when i was about 12) -the mask of Zorro (2nd part is crap) -Pulp fiction -True Romance -Dracula (with Gary Oldman as the count and Wiona Ryder, Keanue Reeves and Anthony Hopkins) also i love jet li movies like: -Evil Cult -Kiss of the Dragon -The One -Meltdown (this one appears to be a "die hard" persiflage) -Danny the Dog -Once upon a time in china and north america i'm sure i forgot to mention some really good ones, but maybe i could inspire you a little. was fun compiling this list. maybe you got some good ones for me =) Update: - American Beauty - Requiem for a Dream - Vanilla Sky - Strange Days - Fargo - Smilla's sense of Snow - LÃÆÃâÃâéon the Professional

lol consider this: 1) make me a god (for me) 2) make me a god (into) -
i got an addy pickaxe. it meant very much to me. it was in my first or second week playing rs. the only thing i did was mining at varrock mines and at lvl 43 i still used a bronze pick.
-
I agree.. i disagree and i play several instruments (well three). back on topic: does anybody know "rock[bleep]"? stumbled across a live video of a song of them called.. hm.. you know that's kinda wierd.. nobody cares if i talk about stabbing your girlfriend, or taking the lollipop of a little child, but everything related to sex is problematic. at least i feel sex is a much bigger tabu then violence. i mean killing is an important thing in rs, a game that is supposed to be suitable for children, but [bleep]ing is a big no no. that said the song is called "fist[bleep]" and that's just what they (a women band btw) do as show act to the song. under the outlined point of view i feel that's kinda offensive. EDIT: see that's exactly what i mean (let's see what gets censored): i can write kill, slaugther, carnage, behead, strangulation, suffocate, torture... [bleep], [bleep], [bleep], [rooster], suck, masturbate, [bleep], .. EDIT2: guess that proves my point...

it would be awesome to have the holy grail. i wonder how much money you can get for it in real life so you'd have the HOLY GRAIL, and you'd be thinking about selling it?! pah :? let's see.. the most useful outfit seems to be: ghostly robes, boots of lightness, catspeak ammy (never met a ghost to speak with, so..), ring of charos. and maybe a staff of air and a ton of runes in backpack :D thought about boots of lightness, some super sets and protect meele prayer and then become a boxing pro, then again super strength boosts your str by what? 15% 20?. could dance around my opponent and annoy him, until my prayer runs out :( so i guess i'd want to have my mith and addy bars. i'd stack them in my shed and spent hours in front of them worshipping :anxious: all those sweet metal bars :3> and when i run out of money, i'd sell one or two if i really have to. they'd be pretty valuable i guess. hm.. or a pineapple pizza. yummi ... and one of those gnomish cocktails.. mmmmhhhhhh EDIT: who said ana in a barrel?

Tip.It Times Presents: Cheating - One Player's Story
kelem_ryu replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Basically i just have this one account "kelem ryu". I played for about 8 or 9 months non stop and feel i got some decent stats and equipment. I always moved inside the boundries of the game as it is designed. Eventually i got bored with rs. It always felt, i had to WORK! to get my skills up and get more gold, to PLAY the game. It seems that's an inherent flaw to MMORPGs. At the time when i already felt i'll quit soon, i decided to see what macroing has to offer. I made a new account and checked a it seems popular cheating site. (btw i don't even know if the "try macroing account" got banned. in fact i can't even recall it's name or password anymore. it didn't work for me at all.) It occured to me, that those macros are actually a way, to beat the game, to get beyond and above it. Usually in rs you just repeat some clicking over and over again, using many hours of your time. Why did i do that? Repetitive tasks are what computers and machines in general are for, not what humans are supposed to do. How much creative effort do you have to put into playing runescape? like none? you don't create anything at all. All you need to "be good" at rs (meaning having high stats and a big pile of goldpieces) is dedication. (and i have to admit, that the dedication some people are showing is very impressive). To write a good script you need dedication as well (i suppose, i can't), but you .. well maybe it's true that there are other skills needed in runescape. The bottom line is this: playing rs is repetitive, writing scripts is creative. A couple of years ago i played Diablo 2. Since i hadn't a internet connection back then, i didn't know where to go, once i completed the game on all difficulties, so i got a hexeditor and started building a toon by modifying a savegame file. it was much more thrilling then actually playing the game. looking back i just wished i knew more about programing. when i was done with my lvl 99 barbarin called "satan", that had all stats at 666, had all quests completed on every difficulty, had skills unacheivable by ordinary game play and custom made equipment (like those rune thingys, that gave me +32 to a certain skill, whereas usually they give maybe +3 if you get lucky), that even had custom names and my toon was (almost) unkillable, i felt i really beat the game. was much more statisfying then "beating" it the common way. I felt above the game and didn't play it anymore. After i quit rs i played shadowbane for some weeks. In this game it is commonplace to get powerleveled by another player, either using macroes or the old fashioned way. so i was able to reach lvl 75 (wich is the max) in about three days with on my third char, although i still was a newb. I found it really refreshing, that this game (as opposed to rs) wasn't about lving at all. (it's about pvp) Later i was annoyed by the absurd competition mindset and powergaming that i hate about rs to. Everybody wants to be "the best", to be "uber" it seems. It appears to be mor about beeing better then others, then about being good, but that's a different story. About the "guilt" expressed by the author of the tip.it times article: in my opinion you can't just macro a little around. If you really do, it will destroy the way you used to play the game. It will become something else instead. Never ever cheat to be better then others and don't do it, if you feel you need to catch up. No wonder you feel guilty. If you break the rules, you'll play a different game, wether you like it or not. remember: Some rules can be bent, some can be broken. just if you do the game won't stay the same. -
i'm totally dependent on the market. i always buy my runes (btw it'd be hard to craft bloods, wouldn't it) i buy herbs and 2nds i buy food i buy bars just some materials that (more or the less accidently) built up in my bank i use. also i craft my laws, but no other rune. and yes! i'm proud to be self sufficent when it comes to making super poison (although i still buy vials) making everything yourself would be like cook your own food, instead of just ordering pizza  but i think it's cool to be self sufficent. about two years ago i made my own jam from gooseberry and (another kind of berry i can't find the translation in my dictionary) that i picked in my garden. was a very statisfying feeling. (i still have some jars :D )

wait! rs costs 'bout 4 euros a month. compare that to wow wich costs how much? about 12 euros a month? BUT in wow you can make as much characters as you want with one account. in rs you pay per account. considering that many people, who play for some time pay for two accounts. rs isn't that cheap.

stop this "..and i have two kids" talk" the thought of having kids scares me.. responsibility ugh well no wonder since i'm just six. (and it took me 23 years to get that old)

Tip.It Times Presents: The Nightmare of Customer Service

what else do you know about real life magick? i also don't watch tv.. -
i believe, that it isn't bad to be dead. quite the opposite. so your sister is fine. she probably died a quick and painless death. she just won't be there for any of you anymore. that's the cruel thing about death. it appears that you loved her very much. so cry (i do at this moment) for she won't be there anymore, but it's okay. we all have to die sometime. that's the way life is. you will be fine. all my sympathy is with you and your family

uhmm.. only read the first three posts =\ okay.. "abortion shouldn't be permitted unless..." why? you forgot to tell us why you do think so. btw.. i know young mothers who lived unhappy ever after getting there child. in fact they hate themselves for ever getting that kid. (and they were so confident during pregnacy...) i know girls who are really grateful, they could abort theirs. another point. in times when abortion was forbidden, girls made it undone by backstreet abortionists. you can imagine how clean their work was... edit: "it is murder" well.. the beef you just ate belonged to a living being to(and it is entirely possible to live without meat =P), not to speak of the tree, that needed to be chopped down, so that you can wipe your *** with a neat soft piece of paper. one could argue: "but it's a human!" soo.. humans are worth more then animals or plants? why? because they poison the planet? because they extinct other races? lol

since the last post is from this date i'm not the guy who bumps years old threads up and can give my 2 cents to this topic. you know what really, really, really, really pisses me on? we live in a world, where people commit suicide, instead of a world, that is that cool, that nobody ever would want to leave. i'll do something about that. that's what i live for. i'll make this world into a better place for me to live in. i'll never, ever accept that the world has to be this [cabbage]ty place, that it seems to be. kinda sure this maarten guy now is in a better place. lucky him =P uhm.. btw.. what's wrong with selfishness? am i supposed to live for other people? i don't think so. (if i sound like a selfish [wagon] now, then go ahead ask the people who know me. if i help people and am generous, then just because i feel like it. everything is selfish. everything.)

Tip.It Times Presents: N0valyfe Speaks!
kelem_ryu replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
on the addiction topic, that was discussed earlier on this thread: a professor on university once mentioned during a lecture, that in the 19th century many women (mostly women) were addicted to books (up to 18 hours of reading a day. btw those books were of a more obscene nature) he made the comparsion to the computer (and internet) addiction that is common these days. since i have experience with addictions i'm well aware, that i'm addicted to playing computer. you can live with addictions. to get the example of cocain out, that was mentioned earlier on this thread, there are people who are addicted to cocain and live normal lives, have jobs and familys. somebody (on this thread) gave to think, that maybe "real" life isn't as real as many think. maybe there is just an ideal of what people are supposed to do with their lives (like getting a job and having family). playing a computer game 12 hours a day for sure doesn't fit this ideal. (what's in this paragraphe is a whole topic on it's own.) n0valyfe appears to just do what he feels like to do atm and that is a good thing. i'm sure sometime he will move on just because he again feels like it. i think it's a great attitude, that he does what he does atm 100% wasted time is when you don't do what you want to do. EdIT: oh! and wasted lives.. i see people everyday who waste their lives by getting stupid jobs a meanigless marriage, children a house and a dog. still everybody thinks they are doing the right thing btw.. 138! chaos tallys and 585!! strange fruit!!! o.m.f.g. well, tell me when i talk (or think) too much (or wrong things)... =\ -
just holding your rares ad infinitum doesn't make much sense. if you hold on them for years, you missed a great opportunity to make some gold pieces. true: ultimately rares go up, but their value will always fluctuate. in november or december last year i noticed that masks were far below the price of what they were when i first looked on the rares market. every child could see, that that was just due the halloween drop. since i had enough money back then i bought a red 5.9m, wich seemed to be a fairly low price. two or three days ago i sold for 14m. if i'm not completly wrong, masks are on a peek atm and will drop a little in the future (no idea how much). when i think they reached a low i'll buy one again. (hopefully for like 10m), then i'll wait until the next peek and so on.

you will never notice and remember the people quitely doing their stuff, never asking for anything. the only people you notice are the beggars and scammers. btw i started in july 2005. look where i am now =P
