  1. I'll put my 2 cents in here. Do both. Seeing as your runecrafting is higher than your slayer level, you'll probably get more out of runecrafting. However, both can be pretty good sources of money. Runecrafting wins from the aspect of how much cash you're getting out of it, but slayer is good to break the monotony. There is the chance of rare drops, and sometimes going to get a task is just a good thing to break the monotony of runecrafting. That's my personal strategy, using both (and just using multiple money-making methods in general), so maybe it won't appeal to you as much, but it's an option.
  2. They might be, but really, considering that Aviansies are easily taken down by pretty much any type of bolt, it's a waste of money to use obsidian rings on them.
  3. They cost way too much to use for training purposes. They used to be used a lot for staking, but that's pretty much the only good application they have/had.
  4. Looks good; I skimmed it until I got to the red chinchompa part, since I have significantly less interest in the previous levels. When telling how to get to the hunting grounds, you put the spirit graahk teleport as an option; it's the spirit larupia, the graahk teleports you just outside of Shilo Village.
  5. I have 89-93-90 and decided to try Void and salve (e) there. This is just insane. I kill pretty much every one in two hits, occasionally three, and almost never get hit. A bunyip is overkill, even with the really low defence of void. With Enhanced Excalibur (I don't have it yet), I don't think you'll need any food except for dealing with revenants when getting there and when running away to make the warriors aggressive again.
  6. Its not better then anything in strength training. I only see it to be good for training slayer, and thats only for the spec it has. For strength training i say: SS > D Scimmy+ Rune Defender > Obby Split sword + Zerker Necklace. You misunderstood what I said. I went on a tangent about the Saradomin Godsword, then asked about the Saradomin Sword. What I wanted to know is this: how much faster is Saradomin Sword for strength training than Dragon Scimitar? (Numbers would be nice)
  7. NO SHUT UP plunder good at your level. And faster at 91. (kidding) It'll be faster for a lot of people, because you need insanely good concentration to get the most xp out of blackjacking, concentration that most people not named Zarfot are incapable of (I know that I couldn't for long), so the more relaxing Pyramid Plunder would be better for many people. And Pyramid Plunder is good at pretty much every level, it's just not BEST. (Why do people keep insisting that?)
  8. Blackjacking is actually the fastest all the way to 99, but at 91, pyramid plunder reaches almost the same speed, making it pretty much a toss up. So, if you want to do Pyramid Plunder, 91 is when it's close enough to blackjacking speed that the difference is almost insignificant.
  9. There is little to no difference between rune and mithril pickaxes, and mithril is 1kg lighter. Dragonhide is unnecessary -- most revenants are more of an annoyance than a potentially deadly force like PKers were. Boots of Lightness, Spottier Cape, Penance Gloves, Amulet of Glory, Mithril Pickaxe, and a Ring of Dueling make up the perfect outfit for abyss runecrafting. If a revenant shows up, just keep going through like usual. It's unlikely to kill you. If it does any significant damage, just take a little time at the bank to heal up. The revenant will go away soon enough.
  10. The best is generally to bring a Mithril pickaxe (mithril is lighter than the other metals, so run energy lasts longer) and use the mining shortcuts, as they are usually closer to where you teleport in than the woodcutting obstacles. However, I would say that if you have ~15-20 level advantage in Woodcutting, it might be worth it to bring an axe and use the woodcutting obstacles.
  11. It is NEVER worth putting 95% of your wealth into one item unless somehow you can afford a decent outfit to complement the item (I made the mistake of liquidating almost my entire bank for a Saradomin Godsword about three weeks ago -- amazing weapon, but I'm still trying to gain back a really good combat outfit.) Also, I've never really understood the huge draw to the Saradomin Sword. Could someone enlighten me as to how much better it is in strength training in general and not just certain situations (I know it's amazing for, say, Waterfiends, but what about in general?)
  12. Thanks for the link to the guide. That helped me put together my own route. And I already do that herb route, planting ranarrs/sweetcorn. I was trying to figure out how to integrate the trees with this thread, and now I've got it.
  13. I'm looking to get my farming up from its low level of 61, and I've decided to combine a bit of power training with planting herbs to minimize losses or even profit. The problem is, I'm not sure how exactly to string together every herb and tree patch into one so I don't find myself running all over unnecessarily. Does anyone have a route that they use or give me a good place to start with developing my own?
  14. Yeah, just noticed that, so I posted the thumbnail instead.
  15. Been a long time since I posted here, but I have a good reason to post here. Hadn't played GH3 in six weeks (hadn't touched a plastic guitar for two weeks), and I come back, FC the intro first time I play it in practice, then decide to try for it. That was Monday. I finally passed it earlier today. I somehow passed without using star power until "What the...?!", got out of the solo in the yellow, then coasted the rest of the way. Now, what should I do next? 4-stars or pass Jordan? EDIT: Posted a thumbnail because the picture was simply massive, a fact that I did not realize before I posted.
  16. I have heard (but not tested) that they all stack, giving you 12 hp/minute for however long you use them.
  17. Awesome, thanks (I really need to bookmark that site).
  18. Seems like quite a bit of work for the waterfiends. I think I'd just go with food+prayer pots, no familiar than go with that mess. Just seems like a lot of work to go through for that. But to each their own.
  19. Is there anywhere with a list of the rates at which prayers drain? Not all of them are needed, of course, but the major ones (protection prayers, piety, eagle eye, superhuman strength) would be useful to know.
  20. so this means terrorbird? also, what is the ideal prayer bonous If you terrorbird use a stole. Maybe even a mitre. You can't use a terrorbird at the waterfiends in the Ancient Cavern -- you can't take it through the whirlpool, so any possible benefit of additional inventory spots is negated by not being able to bring it with you from the bank. You can take it to the Chaos Tunnels, but that's suicide with your stats. I'd use a void spinner with your stats.
  21. I say yes, it's worth it. I sold A TON of things to get it (I'm still trying to make back enough money to get armour and such back), but it's proven itself to be very worth it. My main pastimes are usually barrows and monster hunting (on hiatus until I build back up my supply of armour), and it's amazing in those situations. When I first tried it at Barrows and managed runs where I managed to pray on all 6 brothers without using a single dose of prayer potion, I knew it was useful. Then I used it at waterfiends and managed to do so well that I didn't even need to pray against range for a huge amount of time. I could easily go 10 minutes between doses of prayer potion. If you can find 49 million that you don't need (don't end up selling so much that you're without decent armour, trying to make money by barrowing in full rune and using a godsword -- just doesn't look right) and do a lot of player vs. monster activities, get it.
  22. And simplifying that equation gives this: P+1<=T Then using the formula P=(L/4)+7 (L is your prayer level, P is the points restored), plug it in: (L/4)+8<=T If you can carry T or more prayer potions (use the above formula), then it's worth it. At Barrows, that will never happen, so it's pointless to use the Holy Wrench.
  23. I have 10 of them and have never used one -- the boost of 1 isn't going to help all that much, as the prayer drain at the barrows depletes your prayer too much for 1 to make a difference that anyone will notice.
  24. I haven't tested it, so I can't say for sure, but I did recommend it and say that you should test them. Void worked just fine for me, but as always, Your Mileage May Vary. I heard the rule of thumb is if you're hit rate is 80% higher you're better off with void (probably a bit conservative; people use void against fairly high-defence monsters). At barrows you'd hit like 1 in 3 or 1 in 4. I use void just about everywhere, which explains a lot. The way I look at it is that the majority of your hits will probably be on the spec hits, and any damage you can add there is very helpful, so the higher hits that void allows will be more helpful than the slightly boosted accuracy of normal hits. Again, I haven't tested this well enough to be able to tell the difference.
  25. I haven't tested it, so I can't say for sure, but I did recommend it and say that you should test them. Void worked just fine for me, but as always, Your Mileage May Vary. Try it; I doubt that you will, glancing at your levels, but it might be necessary. As with everything, you'll need to do some testing to find out exactly what you need.
