A Random Thought On Monkey GreeGree's
Mischlings replied to WolfhunterXZ's topic in General Discussion
If you want to really show your age or love of old TV shows, anyone remember Chuck Cunningham? (Yes, I watch old TV shows) The greegree works where it wants to work. Seems to work on some improbabilty drive. If that's the case, I think you just have to give it a cup of tea to get it to work wherever you want. Though, thinking about it, I think you can get it to work anywhere you can hold it; it'll force itself from your hand if you teleport and you can't hold it anywhere else. If only there was a way to force it into your hand anywhere...... -
No idea what I actually said, but I remember telling you something about how the last level is hard because you're so close, but that makes it go quickly. For me, the hardest is always 8 away from your goal, when you realize that you're not quite halfway. Once you get that next level, you realize "I did this before, and I can do this again." As for if I'll go back to barrows, when I'm not training slayer, I'll probably do 1-2 runs a day when skilling. Since I'm usually spending money or coming out even when skilling, I'll need something to make a little bit of money in the meantime. A handful of runes and occasional Barrows item adds up after a while.

Good job on the strength training! If you keep missing screenshots, do what I do: Take a picture of the "Congratulations, you just advanced a strength level" message in the chat box and the stat screen at the same time. At least then you have a screenshot. Since I tend to miss screenshots, that works for me. Also, might want to put "72/80" in your blog title: good to keep people updated.

I've only mined about 400 rune ores, so I'm not the expert, but I usually get 25 in a half hour, leading to 50 ores (worth 575k) per hour. If I was to throw boxed imps into it, lowering the need for teleporting out and going back (wasting time), I'd be able to make ~640k+ an hour, which (according to a thread on official forums) is faster than runecrafting at level 75 (though only by ~50k an hour). I haven't managed to test that, and probably won't for a while. But rune mining is way up there. Though, 91 runecrafting is better than any other skill you can use (unless I missed something).

Definitely Torag is safer; I'd even try Guthan without prayer, though he can be nasty. I usually have better than rune, though, so he may hit more often on you. It may just be my luck, but I can never take on Ahrim successfully without prayer. Even with 77 magic, 76 defence, and full Karils, he seems to hit me all the time. If you're using a lot of food per run, it might be that. I always save some prayer for killing him. It's something you may want to consider. The idea is this: prayer potions are more expensive than food, but if you spend too much time eating, pray instead. At least, that's what I do. Has worked for me pretty well.

You can catch red chinchompas, which are the best money and possibly the best xp you can get from hunter. I'm getting it to there so when I decide to hunt again, I can go straight to the best xp. Also, they can be used for the fastest ranged xp in the game. Some people have reported over 250k xp/hour using them.

I'm Veracing barrows instead of Ancients; getting good amounts of runes, but now on a 20 run dry streak. I guess that's the curse of being a graverobber. There's a fitting poem to go with this, but I can't think of it right now. It's not too interesting reading about someone's lack of success, is it? Hopefully I can get some success somehow with something. Let's hope the dry streak doesn't last too much longer.

That made me laugh. And yes, I have a very short attention span most of the time. I'm not sure how I survived 85 mining and 76 fishing, to be honest. I have a very short attention span. I find ways to have fun with barrows, but I think it's getting borderline on recklessness. I was fighting Dharok when I got him down to 3 hp. On purpose, I ran out from the crypt, waited for him to come to me, then cast ice burst. I killed him when he was 2 steps away from me. Oh yeah, I also got this:

I see no point in killing green dragons using more than 3 good items. Most don't add enough to your stats to be worth the possibility of losing them. You can bring other items, of course, but if you 3-item, pkers are less likely to kill you and more likely to pass you by, increasing your efficiency and, in case you die, lowering the amount you lose. Also, if you're a higher level, you could bring dragonhide instead of rune, giving you better protection from pkers, since most use mage. At level 99, I use as many lobsters as you do, but with dragonhide, and the magic defence usually allows me to run and get away should someone come along. Of course, if you kill in the lower level locations, you just need to teleport, but I like my dragon spot, so I'll run for it if I need to.

Ran out of planks, and don't want to kill dragons for more money, so... I've decided to go back to Barrows, possibly to get some cash for construction, but mostly because I was getting tired of killing dragons. As is my usual, I'm killing with Ancients, since it's what I'm most used to (and because I can't stand taking on Verac face to face). The above picture is my setup, allowing 12-13 runs before I have to bank. That's about my limit before I need a change in scenery.
