  1. Mined nearly 3000 iron ores today and my wrist is starting to actually hurt, so I'm stopping for now. I'll probably attack it later tonight, and at this rate, which I should be able to keep up due to no school, I'll be getting 85 mining Tuesday or Wednesday, under optimal conditions (which is most unlikely), tomorrow. No more to say now; will probably update again tonight after my wrist stops hurting and I get more done.
  2. Thanks... I think I can make it... It's all a matter of preference, really. I like mining, have since RSC, and it's fine if some people don't. I just think it's a good skill and great money maker at 85+. You're welcome; glad I could help. Also, you should try this method (use rings of dueling if you can't afford glories), it's decent money and experience. Going to mine some more today, though with it being Easter and all, people are likely to be here, pulling me away from here, so I might not get much done. EDIT: 8300 iron ore left to go. Means I should have to recharge my glories three more times on the way to 85. This really is looking possible now.
  3. This guide is awesome. I said I'd use it when I got to 85 mining; I lied, I'm using it at 84. This method is just awesome. In 30 minutes, I used 16 dwarven stouts, 5 doses of prayer potion (with +30 prayer bonus and 60 prayer), and mined 23 rune ores. That adds up to 264.5k (at 11.5k per ore), 529k/hour, even though I didn't do a couple things most effectively (mainly switching worlds). Also, in that 30 minutes, I ran across two worlds in which it was already mined, and one of them was when I went back to one I'd already mined accidentally. So this still seems to be relatively abandoned. Awesome guide, Wakka. Since 91 runecrafting seems impossible, I think I'll be using this for quite a while.
  4. I added a link to your blog to mine (more to remind me to post here than anything :-w ), but I was wondering if we could trade links. You don't need to, but I think it'd help both of us get more posters.
  5. Keep it up, man. It's a long but rewarding road. I'm not yet to 85, but thanks to dwarven stouts, I managed to get a taste of what runite mining is like; I haven't tried it f2p style, but I got 23 in 30 minutes (over 500k/hour), and someone (whose name I can't remember) on these forums has a method to get 25 ores or more an hour on f2p (about 287k/hour), so it's great money. Never give up. Keep your eyes on the prize. And worst comes to worst, there are people here to give you motivation. EDIT: I see you have links to some other blogs. If I link to yours in my blog, would you link to mine? It'll probably help both of us get posters (and remind me to post on yours :-w ).
  6. I'm definitely not giving up; I used 16 dwarven stouts and in about 30 minutes, mined 23 runite ores. That comes out to over 500k an hour, which is awesome money. Also, it'd be nice to not have to use the stouts (it got a little bit annoying). So, I'm not giving up on 85. And now, back to some iron mining. I'm going to mix in some runite mining so I don't get as bored. You envy me? Just keep working, and you'll be there soon enough yourself. If you need motivation, think about how much money you can make. Each runite ore is about 11.5k. That's good motivation. I'm not giving you my account. :shame: :notalk: Do some work, slacker!
  7. I hate having to bump my blog, too. Makes me feel like no one's reading. But just keep going and posting. People will pay attention soon enough. Also, post on other people's blogs. A lot of people will post on yours if you post on theirs. I've noticed that quite a bit.
  8. Buying some dwarven stouts so I can get the feel for rune mining. I should have 85 next week, Wednesday or so. I've decided on my goal after that: 76 fishing, so stay tuned (if anyone's watching in the first place).
  9. Another miner. I feel I have to support my mining friends. 99? That's a lot. I'm currently at 83, and I've barely managed to stay on this side of sanity. I plan on stopping at 85, maybe gaining a level here or there, but I don't really plan on getting 99. It seems like you plan on mixing up what you mine so you're not doing the same thing over and over. That'll slow things down quite a bit, so make sure you have a lot of dedication to this. If you check out my blog (link in my sig), I have an iron mining method you might like; not too much slower than powermining iron, and you make a profit, too. If you need any advice, just ask; I'll be glad to help.
  10. You traded your whip for a random item you didn't know the worth of??!! :notalk: :notalk: GJ on 83 mining though, 83 > 61 :(. I knew the value of it, I just was in such a hurry to sell I forgot. I guess that's what I get for rushing through things. Also, there are about 5 people claiming to buy one for 1.7 million, so I was probably a bit confused about that too. Anyway, once I get full Guthans, I'm going back to slayer to get money to get my whip back. And it's not like I'm without a good weapon; dragon scimitar is a pretty good weapon.
  11. I'm an idiot. Yesterday, I decided to start buying Guthans parts, since I'm a huge fan of slayer and Guthans is very important for any slayer. I bought plate and legs yesterday from money made selling iron ore (I needed a break from nonstop mining), and today I decided I'd sell my whip, along with another couple items, and buy Guthans helm (the spear will be another story). I went to sell my whip in world 2, and I see someone buying for 1.7 million. I trade him, put up whip, and he puts up warrior ring. Something is telling me this isn't good, but I go ahead and trade it anyway. Couldn't find anyone to buy a warrior ring for over 470k, so I took the loss, and went on with selling various items. I finally made 2.1 million, bought Guthans helm, and decided to go back to mining. Now all I have to do is make back 1.13 million. Shouldn't be overly difficult, should it?
  12. Chaeldar is the best at your level. If you're going solely for money and good drops, you should always use the highest level slayer master that you can; at least, that's what I've figured out. Someone with more slayer knowledge than I would be better to ask, though. Just my 2 cents.
  13. 2 More levels to go. Any ideas what I should do afterwards? Skilling plus making money at the same time is preferred. I'll listen to all suggestions.
  14. I didn't get too much done today; homework at first, then there was a lot of lag on my computer; I've been trying to download too many files. Also, I'm trying to decide what to go for after 85 mining. Any ideas? Suggestions?
  15. Good luck going for 99! A faster (although likely more expensive) method would be to make rune arrows; you can attach the tips at the same speed as making bows, it gives better xp than yew longs, and you don't need to bank, since they're stackable. The only problem might be getting the arrowtips in bulk. Not sure about the market for those (although I will soon find out). Just a suggestion; you may or may not want to try it out. Can you say April Fools?
  16. Nice bank; at the top, it looks like there's a death talisman. Do you have a use for it, or is it just sitting there? If it's just sitting there, I'll buy it for 100k when I do MEPII. Shouldn't be too long before I do that quest. Also, that white thing you have? How much do you get when you alch it? Ever wanted to find out?
  17. I'll post on your blog; maybe today, maybe tomorrow. Depends on if I get the chance tonight. Oh yeah, a bit of progress for me: Not too bad, eh? If you want me to check out and post on your blog, feel free to post here. As long as your signature or post links there, I'll check it out and post.
  18. April fools ;) Should've occurred to me, especially as my mom is an April Fool (my joke for the year is that I forgot to get her a present). At least I'll only look like a fool for today. "I pity the fool" - Mr. T
  19. Forgot yet again to post yesterday; postponing my mining for a bit, bought a few feathers (57k) and I'm turning them into headless arrows, then buying a bunch of rune arrowtips. I'm also confused; someone seems to like changing the names of a couple skills, replacing them with pretty funny descriptions, but it's getting a little weird. The title of my blog is now weird, and this post will probably look weird. Any explanations?
  20. My friend Ben says he wants his to be "There are too many of them!" Mine would probably be "That was interesting"
  21. No interesting stories to report today; I did a bit of mining, after yesterday (forgetting to post ) I crafted 800 law runes and got sick of it. I'm probably done mining for the night. Haven't had much motivation to work, other than the fact that I want to get those charged glories used. Having 28 is so much fun. Hope to get some motivation to work tomorrow; I also think I'll add a link in my signature to this blog. Weirdness is guaranteed. EDIT: Added signature. Too weird? I hope it doesn't go over everyone's head.
  22. I didn't have much trouble with the defenders; might just be my luck. But nearly 4k tokens? Ouch. Looking at your goals, I'm liking the agility and mining goals; I'd set them a little higher, but that's just me. Oh yeah, a suggestion: Get 69 construction if you're going for the altar; crystal saw and construction tea. Less money spent; quite a bit less. I'm going for 70 just because I like nice round numbers. Oh yeah, get more ambitious with slayer. Only 50?
  23. What quests do I need for that? I've forgotten, and need to add them to my list; I'm sure I don't have them on the list. And I'm partly responsible for the huge amount of page views; I've literally looked at this blog 50 times a day since it started. Haunted mine for the salve ammy itself. To enchant it you use Tarn Razorlor's book on it from his study (you have to do the mini-game and kill him then take his book and use it on the ammy). I recommend getting multiple salves as well because I died with my first one a long time ago and had to go through it all again. To get another just drop the first one and get another, then pick up the one you dropped. I got got 22 Salve Amulet (e) this way even though you're only suppose to be able to get one  . Seems to be the same trick I used to get extra holy wrenches; still haven't found a use for them, but that's beside the point. I'll have to do the Haunted Mine quest; heard the final battle is at least a bit difficult, which sounds promising to me (I was disappointed by Monkey Madness; only took 7 rune arrows and 24 prayer points), so I'm going to have to do it. As an aside, do you ever get pked while crafting runes? I did earlier today, which has driven me crazy since it's taking me forever to get them back. I can't be alone in this frustration. In fact I have. At 126 combat I died 3 times in one day. I believe it was a clan event. Me and my friend were scouting worlds because I had died twice and there were 1-3 level 120+ in every world that we checked. I gave up and went to get 66 hunter after the 3rd death and came back the next day to find them all gone. I usually run the side route around the tree so that a skeleton attacks me when I first enter a world. Helps to avoid pkers when I'm scouting ahead. Once I know there are none I continue in that world as I normally would. I usually die to abyss pkers however because I get nervous and forget to do everything. I panic, don't drop my pouches, don't really do anything accept click widly and curse #-o . That's why I had so much trouble with Tztok-jad I couldn't kill him until I got 126 cb and 99 range I would be a disaster of a pker :boohoo: I would make a horrible pker, too; I die just about every time I get attacked, though, today, I managed to avoid getting killed even though a guy with a DDS was running after me while going to the abyss. Do you usually have bad luck getting pouches back? It took me 40+ minutes today; I got so many talismans, I lost track of how many. Is your luck that bad with them, or is it just me?
  24. I've given up for tonight; House is on in 20 minutes, and my computer is making me freaking insane; it's crashed on me twice in the last 15 minutes, and I don't have much motivation to continue playing tonight. I finished mining the ess I needed, lost my pouches, got them back, and now I'm working on crafting the 2400 water and law runes I need. And although I never said it in the first post, posts are appreciated. :D
  25. I agree, but I seem to remember that he said something about running across rc pkers before, so I was just wondering if he'd gotten unlucky once or twice. I hate them with a passion, but I spite them by wearing only boots of lightness, dueling ring, and bronze pickaxe. Doesn't affect my efficiency too much, either. (I'm glad I broke the quote chain; I'd hate to let that grow out of control.) I just noticed I'm getting quite off-topic. I'll shut up now.
