My money making methods are quite safe. Barrows, slayer, rune mining, and runecrafting are my main ones, though being mostly self-sufficient, money isn't usually a problem. My emergency money making method, however, is perfectly safe: battlestaving. Since none of it involves buying or selling with other players, there's no way the market can ruin it.

I've sold a cup of tea for 10k, a spade for 25k, probably 150 laws for 1k each, a knife for 9.7k, and once traded two laws for two rune bars. I do a lot of small time merchanting, as you can tell. You hang out in enough crowded banks and you'll be surprised how much you can make selling common items.

I like the diagram, but the question is, on the second wheel in the second diagram, is the dragon chain in the spot of the party hat or the ashes? That's what this debate has been.

This whole *its not rare enough* concept you guys made up has nothing to do with how things are even dropped. so there is no real argument to begin with, as stated in the quote, its a wheel, and one number on the wheel is *rares* that spins a second wheel. thats when they RoW kicks in. and im sure jagex made Dchain one of the least favored rolls on the wheel. Tada in comes RoW! the rest is history. I read that, understand that. My argument is that the dragon chain is one of the least favored, his is that it's more favored than some others. Once you take the roulette wheel into consideration, that's what our argument comes down to.

Since no one's moved it yet, I reported it, so maybe a mod will see it. As for the guide, a question popped into my mind while reading it: can you solo the queen meleeing the first form and ranging the second?

In your opinion, yes. Now, we don't know Jagex's opinion on the issue, I just see no reason why one of the most expensive monster drops in the game would not be considered rare. To respond to sixxtoes, Jagex has never said whether or not the dragon chain is a "rare" drop, but common sense says that Jagex would make it rare, or else there would be so many it'd be worthless. One could ask Jagex and settle the debate, I just don't think it's necessary. I stand by what I've said, prove me wrong if you wish.

Our proof is what Jagex has said mixed with some common sense. Your argument goes against both. Jagex's word is a lot more solid proof than speculation, unscientific tests, and isolated incidents. Stop relying on those and if you can still support your conclusion, you may change my mind.

What I want to see are the drop lists that prove this. If it's a large enough sample size, both with and without ring of wealth, then I'll believe you. As of right now, you've presented no proof, and since you're arguing against common belief, you'll have to present very conclusive proof in order to change belief. I know exactly what you're saying, I just want something that might possibly prove that what you're saying is true. You've presented nothing, which doesn't bode well with your argument.

Because they havn't experianced it for themselves. :roll: Your right, but the thing is noone wants to go in not fully knowing what to do and end up wasting pots c bow charges or bolt racks. Then do what I do: dragon halberd and Guthans; with that, I can easily get to the 360s without using any prayer or using up any bolts or crystal bow charges. I use that to practice the caves. I've never gotten the fire cape, never even made it to Jad. I don't care that it was made harder; it'll just make it more difficult for me to get the cape, and I like a challenge.

#1: I see no proof of that, and saying it's not a rare drop is ridiculous. It only seems like it's not because no one mentions the other drops. #2: How many did he kill with wealth? Without wealth? I'd guess the ratio is about 6:1, or similar. If the amounts aren't the same, that proves nothing. #3: Proof? I want to see something that conclusively proves that. #4: 66 kills, 2 chains. That's called luck. Also not a large enough sample size. #5: Again, bad luck. 250 is a relatively large amount, but still not a huge sample size. #6: Isolated incident, useless in statistics. Gems fall under miscellaneous. I've gotten hundreds of gems from slayer. I get sick of them and drop some. Are you telling me that it's rarer than a dragon med or black mask? I've gotten one each of those last two. Either I'm extremely lucky, or the rarity isn't based on where it is on the drop list. If I'm not mistaken, the drop list is sorted based on what category of item is dropped, not how rare it is. And gehjl, thank you for posting that. I remember reading that a long time ago, I believe in the god letters, but couldn't remember exactly how it went. If you skipped the rest of my post, here's what I'm trying to say: Jagex has said that in increases the chance of dropping a rare item. Until you can present conclusive (thousands of kills) evidence of what's rare or not, statistically, you can't prove whether or not it works, or what is rare or not. Isolated incidents prove nothing. Thousands of tests do.

got one....same affect as black mask if on task tho 15% attk and str right? If you complete Tarn's Lair and use his diary on the amulet, you get +20% attack and strength on the undead, even when not on task, making it better than black mask.

I don't have any proof or experience with ring of wealth liking me, but I don't understand why people think the Ring of Wealth has no effect. Jagex clearly states that the Ring of Wealth increases the chance of getting a rare drop; saying a dragon chain isn't a rare drop is ridiculous. The only way to conclusively prove if there's any difference is to look at at least 10,000 kills, with and without a ring of wealth, in order to see if there's a difference. It may be a small difference, sure. But is the +4 strength bonus of a berserker ring really that big? Are you going to see a noticeable difference in how fast the Queen is killed or how much food you use? Also, consider the loss if you die. A Berserker ring is a lot more than a ring of wealth. It's all down to personal opinion, but I think that in cases like that, I'd use the ring of wealth.

I'm waiting until the next update to see if they make it so monsters quit moving diagonally (doubtful) Well maybe they'll do it just for the caves... doubt it though, as this update does seem to hurt pures quite a bit. Also, if using a rune crossbow, would you recommend using ava's accumulator instead of a god/trimmed 99 cloak? Finally, does one bolt type (/enchanted subtype) shine far, far above the others? I was just wondering, as otherwise I'll probably just use plain mithril ones :P I'm not muggi, but I'd say that enchanted emerald bolts are quite useful on the 360s (and probably Jad, haven't tested them on him), since the poison damage can add up pretty quickly. What I would do is equip plain mithril bolts and put the enchanted ones in my inventory, so I don't waste them on monsters that you can kill quickly enough without them.

Sounds like I'm quite a while off, then. I already know how to run under monsters (which actually annoys me to no end most of the time), but I'll need about 11 more combat levels and 10 defence levels. What stats would be needed in order to kill the Kalphite Queen solo? I know it would be easier on a team, but I prefer to be a lone wolf, so I'd prefer to solo it. Yes, I have Veracs, and plan on using that. Though, barrows gloves high alchemy value (76.8k) is higher than Veracs helm (61.8k), so do I lose the helm if I use them? (might be a stupid question, sorry :oops: ) Also, would it be best to use all the +15% prayers? I know protect item an protect from magic are pretty much required, but would the +15% prayers help enough to justify using the prayer pot doses? If I have any other questions, I'll add them. Thanks in advance.

you'll run out of prayer way before you kill jad with flowers, you really have no idea do you? a full stock of p pots and 75 prayer with protect from melee and raise str 15% would last about 15 minutes, you'd probably hit jad for 20 damage by that time. plus regeneration so he'd be at full health. Then explain this: Regardless, the Fight Caves are quite a bit more difficult now. My first attempt, I used luring to easily get to wave 59 before I screwed up, today it was around 50 or 51. This only becomes a problem once the 360s are in play. With Guthans, I can coast all the way to the 360s without any prayer, but it's difficult once the 360s come out. Doesn't bother me too much, since I like a challenge, though "wait in the NE corner" is much easier than "Trap 22, 45, and 180 behind the 360, kill 90 hoping not to get hit, range 22s, kill 360, turn off prayer, run to safespot hoping you lured the 45s and 180s right". I'll still get that cape some day.

Let's hope diagonally moving is a bug also :pray: . If it is, then I'm going to be pissed. I died in the Fight Caves 10 minutes before the system update.

Does this mean you cant hide with protect from mage and a skill guide interface (so you pray doesnt drain) anymore at the beginning of a wave. I've used this alot... I'm not trying the caves now :-k It still works, so no need to worry about that.

It's obsidian sword (Toktz-Xil-Ak) and berzerker necklace, and if you're going to use it, use it on monsters with low defence (bloodvelds are perfect for this, and pretty much any kind of training), since it can be quite inaccurate, but the strength bonus makes up for that. EDIT: Only problem might be getting those. I spent 4 million on the necklace, which was 400k higher than the price on the forums, and it still took a while to buy. You might be better off buying an onyx and getting a level 87+ crafter to make you one. And for the sword, since very few people sell it, it's best to just buy it from the store (52k tokkul with Karamja gloves).

The holy wrench adds one, so you'd heal 21 (53/4=13.25+7+1=21.25, rounds down to 21)

You've had one good drop in your RS career, and it's worth 18 million. I've had 12-13 barrows items, all adding up to about 15 million, along with 2 dragon meds (sold for 700k total) and one black mask (450k). That one good drop is worth more than I've made in 16. -.- Oh yeah, congrats on the visage. I had no luck with the wyverns.
