Mysterious Locked House In Edgeville
Assuming there's an actual locked house in Edgeville, several screenshots would be helpful. And moo.

24-Aug-2011 - Save 15% on the price of membership!
Maples? They tend to be the top profit from MTK because of the tree seeds. RS wiki says otherwise, but you'll note they explicit state they don't take into account tree seeds, which probably account for anywhere from a third to half of the profit. The main reason I didn't use spreadsheets is because they only factor in the medium GE value. Prices are all going to be WAY above what the GE actually states... Well, your other option is to use spreasheets to figure out what items you'd acquire from it, then muck around with the GE to figure out actual prices.

24-Aug-2011 - Save 15% on the price of membership!
When you find out, tell me lol. Prices haven't gone as crazy for torstols as I had hoped, possibly because of the sneaky announcement. Altho they've still raised quite a bit :P I sold my rare of torstols like 2 weeks ago. Hopefully I'll be able to get it back for less =D Also, need to hit my kingdom for loot as well. I'll actually buy my herb supplies once prices die down again. I'll wait till after BXP if I have to. I've decided I care more about cheaper herblore exp then fast herblore exp, at least to the extent that I don't want to spend extra cash on bxp for it.

BXP weekend
Today's "Save 15% on the price of membership " announcement. Curse you jagex for making it so hidden. I want torstols to rise higher!

Stop making only video guide
That's pretty ignorant. Every monster killing guide: bring gear, attack monster, pick up loot, bank Every skill guide: use this on that, bank, repeat Give me suggestions on what other guides I should make. Quests? DG bosses/Nex/Nomad/Jad? All of those are fairly complex. I understand that certain people will have an easy time figuring out and doing bosses themselves, but you are ignorant if you think that applies to everyone thus rendering guides unnecessary. Browse these forums enough and you will see people needing help with those things. Furthermore, if you look into different skilling methods, you will find that some of the best skilling methods are methods regular players are unlikely to run into and use on their own without any sort of guidance. Firemaking, for example, can be fairly complex to do extremely efficiently. No, but without reading a guide I'd still be using a primal spear and clearing pretty much every room. Reading or watching a guide very rarely teachers something effectively; practice teachers you how to do something effectively. But you use the guide to point you in the right direction when you start practicing. At any rate, from reading this thread I get the impression that the problem isn't video guides themselves, but the fact that video guides have very high bars in order to not be bad. And many video guides do not pass that bar. And the above comment, that if the video quality or connection is poor (which is either the users fault or a problem that won't be found in good video guides) or simply trying to find a certain part of it.

Melodrama.
And then there's the irony of someone ranting about ranters. Also note that pissed off people tend to be more vocal, at least in an atmosphere where their, um, pissed-off-edness isn't directly confrontational.

Nomad
Heh... I remember how much I hated Nomad when he came out... Of course, I killed Nomad a day or two after he came out... For the record, I realize Nomad came out like over a year ago and your stats have probably changed significantly since then, but I notice that as well as saying he's easy, you have 99 att/str/def/pray and 104 DG. I am... curious about what your stats looked like when you killed him.

23-Aug-2011 New Rewards for Minigames
So, uh, what happens if you run to get back in the mini-game and close the interface? It better be something that you can't close unless you hit the "close" button and then choose "yes I want to close this." Which would be annoying, but not as annoying as, say, running to the bank after a C Wars game and seeing the interface pop up for half a second. I have a bull[cabbage] theory: the drops are actually quite common, it's just the interface takes a long time to load - every player who the game has tried to give the interface to wandered off to do something else, closing the interface, before it appeared.

23-Aug-2011 New Rewards for Minigames
What, why? It sucks. All it lets you use are spells nobody with 99 magic would consider using. Should have been the surge spells. And you shouldn't have to go through the necklace BS; rather, just a straight up addition.

23-Aug-2011 New Rewards for Minigames
It's not. Remember, most shields besides the spirit ones absorb, what, like 2% of damage done over 200 LP? However, those are some halfway decent defensive stats. Might be useful for tanking bandos at noob masses or something. As for the rest of the updates: Seems pretty dang useless to me. Might get the 10-teleport PP staff for switching to ancients or something. There's a reason I have two Pharaoh Sceptre's in my bank. Got fed up with using it twice then needing to recharge. I should also point out that this armour is "entirely cosmetic except for when they are in the following PvP minigames: Castle Wars Soul Wars Fist of Guthix TzHaar Fight Pits " So, for those of you thinking, hey, maybe the stats apply outside of the mini-games and it's only the damage boost that's limited to the mini-game, well, you appear to be wrong. I'll probably unlock the trollheim teleport spell since I already have group venge.

Is Runescape getting too easy?
I feel the need to point that, at the very least, lumberjack should be easier to get. IMO, there shouldn't be really hard (and by hard I mean very low chance) to obtain. Oh, and complaining about dicing for money is like complaining about people buying lottery tickets. Unless you're the host, on average you lose money. I have nothing against updates that make RS less grindy or lower drop rates - RS is grindy enough as is and drop-rates are just abstract numbers used to limit the supply of an item. Note that this is slightly different then my opinion on lumberjack - something you have to obtain yourself shouldn't be luck-based with a very low chance of it occurring.

Hollywood potrayals of computer usage
First off, I am quite a fan of Buffy. I never claimed the show itself was intended to be realistic, its a show about vampires. That said, it was mentioned as its an example of unrealistic computer usage. I never said the show itself had to be realistic in order to qualify as an example. In my opinion, a show has to be realistic in order for you to complain about how unrealistic certain aspects are. Until such a time occurs as demons are actually able to possess computers, thus enabling man-kind to study the actual effects of such an occurrence, a demon possessed computer can pull almost whatever crap it wants. It can fly. It can shoot lasers. It can hack into any internet connected computer. Hell, it can hack into a computer near an internet connection, because, [bleep] you, it's a demon, that's why. Sorry to sound all negative. TV does often really, really screws up when it comes to computers. It's just, I don't think the Buffy example is a good one.

Hollywood potrayals of computer usage
Sorry, but your first example is Buffy the Vampire. You're complaining about urban fantasy unrealistically portraying a demon-possessed computer being used in a highly unrealistic way that is almost similar to magic. You know what else is highly unrealistic and similar to magic? A demon possessed computer. Also, my first thought was that you must have read cracked... GOOD JOB!@ Anyways, as best as I can tell, when Hollywood deals with computers they're basically hoping that they can come up with something using complicated enough terms that people don't immediately recognize it as [cabbage]. And, altho most hacking seems to involve a hacking program of some sort, you do occasionally wind up with the occasional autistic kid who hacks the CIA or something.

Waterfiends are weak to crush... Rapier time!
Not significantly, no. Yet the D Def is generally valued over the DFS despite the DGS having a higher str bonus. Figure that one out.

Jagex: Guide to ruining botting.
Not gonna lie, I think this might be one of the better plans I've seen. But unless Jagex basically makes it into a captcha, bot makers will eventually program in the answer to all the questions. If Jagex makes a new question each day, the answer has to be in a very easy to find place so that regular players can enter the answer and get on with their day, which the bots could easily use. If it was a random pieces of information just listed somewhere, you'd get regular players not being able to play because they themselves can't deal with it. At any rate, half of the botting problem lies in the fact that Jagex isn't willing to cut out the botting problem at the cost of cutting out the revenue the bots generate. Still, some sort of captch to stop bots has some sort of merit to it.
