This lady? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uma_Thurman She's just an actress... EDIT: I AM MISTAKEN! SHE PLAYED IN GATTACA AND PULP FICTION. SHE IS AWESOME BY MY STANDARDS BUT SHE STILL DOESN'T MAKE MOST BADASS.
  2. At my school we have to have see-through backpacks or one of those crappy Disney movie ones meant for 3rd graders.
  3. Oh god please. I can't find batteries for my GBA to play Gold on.
  4. I love getting shots. it makes me all happy inside. What kind of shots are you getting? Every shot I go to get makes my right arm feel numb.
  5. Platinum just came out in March so we probably won't get Pokemon Hydrogen and Oxygen (Yes, I'm predicting they will resort to the periodic table for the next game titles) until 2011. They already have. Platinum is an element, Pt. I can't wait for Pokemon Francium! Its been awhile but... Isn't diamond pure carbon? Just a slightly different makeup of carbon than graphite/whatever making it extremely solid? So that way, the first element would have been Diamond. But its been a few years since I needed to know that [cabbage]. You both forgot Silver and Gold versions :-w
  6. There should be priorities. Caffeine is a drug and you don't see kids getting searched for having Mountain Dew. It only takes a few pills to overdose on Ibuprofen. you'd have to drink about 100 MDs in an hour to get a caffeine overdose. Caffeine tablets is a different situation and should be in the same boat as Ibuprofen. The result wouldn't be the same though. Take out the traffic lights and there would be more accidents. Take out ibuprofen regulations and nothing will change - kids take pills off of school grounds all the time and the result is ultimately the same, with the exception of the suing rate. There's no need to take out the drug restrictions except for conveniece as you said. And if we can allow students to becareful for themselves then surely drivers of all ages can do it too. No, they sue because they like excuses for money. In reality it is more of the parent's fault than anyone else's. The parents are the ones who are supposed to teach their kids what to do, especially in this very context. I doubt the parents would agree with the notion that it's okay to strip search their children if the school has probable cause of them having possession of a drug which you probably gave them yourself. It's the parent's job to teach their kids yes, but they still have to rely on the school to make sure they're doing what they're supposed to be doing. Look at it this way. Would you rather discuss your driving to a cop or to a family member? I'm still not seeing what the nurse's attitude has to do with drug restrictions.
  7. It doesn't? Hmmm, I fail to see how the idea of disregarding your priorities is a good one. No type of drug is alowed in the school. Or you can skip the nurse step, making it more convenient for you and the nurse, and the result will ultimately be the same. Again, the argument goes back to "then you can sue if that step is skipped" but this is just a second issue that needs to be addressed. Convenience? Really? I guess we should take out stop lights and stop signs as well because that'd make it more convenient. There is no reason for the nurse to regulate something like that. Should we have peanuts and cherries regulated too because some people have allergic reactions? What about pens? Schools do regulate peanuts already. In some schools you can't eat a PB&J sandwich, and while I don't agree with banning peanut butter regulating medicine use has more benefits than not doing it. Look, it does not matter if the drug was Ibuprofen, marijuana, or meth. If they seriously need to fix a headache problem every nurse I've been to since middle school had her own supply of Tylenol. There is no reason for anybody to bring any form of drug into the school. Not when the nurses are pains in the [wagon]. [bleep] to us when we enter at our school. At 13 if we still need the school to take care of us then the school itself has to wake up. So what if I bring some Aspirin? So what I take the entire capsule. So what if I get drugged? If the courts can fix suing the school for everything, we wouldn't have any of these problems. What does the nurse's attitude towards you have to do with anything? Parent's can't watch their kids 24/7 you know. So in those 7 hours the school has their children they rely on the school to keep them protected. Parents are of course going to sue if their child does something stupid that could've been prevented.

You can still vacuum a wood floor.

What's in your room? Trash? Toys? Clothes? Dirt? Just pick things up, if you need them put it away neatly, if you don't trash it, and then vacuum the floor.
  14. Along with Haruhi and Code Geass, the most overrated anime in existence right there. Those anmes actually deserve an anime fan's attention rather than crap like Naruto or Bleach. Really? Code Geass was a pretty [cabbage] way of copying and attempting to mix mecha and Death Note-esque intellectuality. If you want something thought provoking, try GitS. It's great for buffs of both sci-fi and politics. If you want mecha, go for Gundam. Now, if you want [cabbage] copycat mecha combined with fake intellectualism (wow, they can play chess and act like the battlefield plays like a chessboard, thought-provoking), then sure, go for Geass. God, I can't believe I watched both seasons of that. Geass was so [cabbage] it was even self-aware of it's own [cabbage], as evidenced by all the compensatory fan service. Haruhi I can't speak for. Not really a fan of the whole look-into-the-regular-life-of-Japanese-students thing. Not enough escapism there. Naruto and Bleach are great, you want to know why? Not because they're throught provoking, not because they are realistic, no. It's because they have a genre, action, and they do it [bleep] well. Like Dragon Ball Z of days old, the authors of these mangas know action. They know how to keep an audience on the edge of their seat, and they're great at character development to boot. Sure, the plots a little weird sometimes, and there's maybe a handful too many deus ex machinas throughout the series, but that's how the genre goes, and that's why they're at the top of the charts. Why am I even arguing for this. I'm pretty damn sure that you like Naruto and Bleach, but there's just something about being a "true anime fan" that won't allow you to touch mainstream. No need to respond to this point though, asa denial will be the same to me as not saying anything at all, as your word is worthless here. The reason I hate DBZ, Naruto, and Bleach is because it takes way too long for the story to progress. "Action" isn't some guy training for 10 episodes, searching for someone for 2, and then having a conversation with his opponent rather than fighting for the next 5, which for some reason, DBZ, Bleach, and Naruto have all done. And you'll probably hate me for this but... I've tried GitS and Gundam... Hated them both. Sorry 'bout that.
  15. You fear the 3rd dimension?
  16. Heights. I'm fine in airplanes but I feel like I might die at the very top of a roller coaster. *shudders*
  17. Maybe she confused Canada with Mexico? After all the only difference is temperature. :twss:
  18. Thanks, I was certain the rest of us on the thread had no idea what the zombies in the game were called. So I popped this in after about 2 months of collecting dust. All I can say is, I now sympathize with Dragoonson; playing with your firends is just one big cluster[bleep]. We tried No Mercy on Expert, couldn't get through the subways because people were monkeying about or running ahead and dieng. I just downloaded the survival pack, but I haven't tested it out yet. Maybe tomorrow. I'll play too. Name a time and I'll be there.
  19. GTFO!!! Can someone help me? I'm still surrounded here!
  20. http://www.callofduty.com/intel/217 Rejoice my 360 and PS3 friends.
  21. Out of them, I have only read Death Note. Riku, how would you class Death Note as an action type? It was more comparable to GitS, well, if you took out the action in GitS. But yeah, try branching out a little before you judge all anime. You really need to try a few different types before you can judge. (And while I'm at it, try watching Elfen Lied, its only 13 episodes, but contains alot of violence and nudity, judging by the manga anyway, which I doubt they took out, but again, its downfall is, it is short, the ending in it is different from the manga (I cried a little to be honest)) There's still nudity and violence in Elfen Lied. I didn't mean to classify Death Note as an action-type anime. It just happened to be in a list full of action-typed anime. I meant maybe he'd like a more relaxed anime better.
  22. We're not talking about whatever you choose though, we're talking about a common household drug which is rarely ever abused. If the student claimed that she had possession of a weapon then I could completely understand. There is probably even a higher death toll from pens than there are from ibuprofen. "Each year, use of NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) accounts for an estimated 7,600 deaths and 76,000 hospitalizations in the United States." (NSAIDs include aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, ketoprofen, and tiaprofenic acid.) Teenagers are idiots. Their minds work like this: *Takes 2 Ibuprofen pills* "Hmm nothing is happening. Maybe if I took more..." *Takes more*
  23. Maybe you don't like all the big action type animes. Try a slice-of-life like Lucky Star or Kannagi.
