  1. it's an elite clue Basically the arrow poitns in the direction.. So if you draw a line in the direction of the arrow on the minimap the clue is somewhere on it. If you -say- teleport to varock you ought to see a different angle, than where those 2 lines would cross the clue is located.
  2. I love how you consider low level players to not be "worth anything". They ALSO work for their drops: and their drops should to jagex mean just as much as drops from higher level players. Maybe it doesn't influence you as much as a spirit shield. But the person who tries to farm for say whips and suddenly notices jagex sells those; that's terrible.
  3. Considering primal plate isn't that much better than hood (I honestly won't hunt for a plate). And considering that with lower defense evading instead of tanking becomes even more important, I'd say: no gorgonite plate is a lot worse than the hood. Maybe EoC will change this, but then again it's terribly "easy" to make this plate/get it made.
  4. magazines don't write about IVP anymore; their articles will always turn the same and IVP in a company means there won't be anything new there. So for magazine/review sites a game has lost all interest once such investors come.
  5. Lol most jobs I see (at my education level) aren't really "paid hourly".. Of course I get an hourly wage: but I just do what I need to do in a month and that includes a lot of overtime work which doesn't get paid (I recon about 40 hours nowadays as many other employees are fired; yet their work has to be done somehow).
  6. Really take for example agility: advanced courses? That's like no change at all, it simply means you get "more xp for the same old course with a very slight twist".
  7. Basically this, but with a soul wars cape for added staying power. Virtus and cstaff have very bad xp/hr increases considering how much they cost. Ahrim's + Akrisae's hood is usually better. Hedgehog is also right that cost probably is an issue, so you should look into some efficient methods (which happen to be highly profitable as well). Isn't a fury better than arcane stream? - considering the dmg bonus only applies to the main target?
  8. Would this require so much more than the potion script? You can just listen to the "!lvl" combo being typed? And then use the highscores for a lookup, as you already capture the party names?
  9. You live in a black & white world? I am very much enjoying rs at the moment; yet I'm upset too about it. Rs is all about achieving things (and as fast as possible), that component keeps most people playing (after each hill there's a larger mountain). And at some point you've spent so much into the game you have memories you simply don't wish to lose. I play rs since I'm 15 - and considering I'll turn 24 at the end of this summer that is a considerable part of my life. There have been many things in RS that made me upset about the change - I've been bashing ZMI/graahks/wilderness removal since the start: they removed all the fun for me in rcing, believe it or not but the pkers actually made rcing not a bore for me. But that doesn't mean RS as a whole became bad, I still enjoy rs to this day as a past time where I can set goals & work towards it for a month. However now this change & their focus on the squeel of fortune (seems like every other update the last few months is about it) are simply bad; they keep eating the fun small but steadily out of the game. And I pray that this is something that will "blow over" and won't be the total future. Just like how wilderness (and "drop what you kill") did return. Once the only correct (in terms of achieving highscore ranks) way becomes buying xp I'll look for something else. (Seems however that it's increasingly difficult to not get another game with pay-to-win things, that's really the '10s of gaming. Like arcade was the '80s...
  10. Problem is that solo players will suffer from this if there's a "bind bank": they can't take multiple weapons into the dungeon then.
  11. Maybe that should be included: it might reduce the time by quite a bit?
  12. That would actually be weird still: having a full inventory of equipment at lv 120? At least I assume they will multiply the number of slots as to not make the advantage at lv 50, 100 & 120 less.
  13. might be just me but your old post seems to be moved here That forum is suited for asking (& answering) questions. This is just for questions like "how many pets do you own".
  14. That statement is a very passive one - almost religious passive ("jagex is god, they set the law thou shall follow"). I for one can never agree to rules unless they are logical & consistent. Heck indeed I've walked quite often walked into these inconsisties in real life (school, job & now politic). Yet I will always shout out loud about those and try to change them. Frankly: this has always been succesful, simply as inconsistent rules can never stay for a long time. And will change, shouting helps changing them faster. (Yes I lost my job for that - as I couldn't go through 1 door with my boss - but in the end I was right & the company had to change their policy).
  15. Also does it include the daily 5000 random xp per dollar spent (200 dollars spent daily means around 1m daily xp possible in all skills, or written otherwise around 100k xp daily without spending time).
  16. I would appreciate if you actually refute my argument: I'm merely saying you (and jagex) is hypocritical by allowing such microtransaction by themselves yet not by others. If I can spent my money the way I wish: why can't I spent it on buying goods not provided by jagex? And why can't I make & use an automatic program? In the end it is my time & my money? I heard the argument "because bots interact directly with the resources": well having more cash you also can offer directly more on certain goods: driving the price up and hence interacting with my resources. Because something bad happens less doesn't make it less bad: it just might make it not worth the time to remove it. (Yet jagex keeps adding more ways that involve micro transactions). TO conclude: what I am saying is that if the argument is based around 'let people do what they wish with their money'. You should stretch this and state "let people do what they wish with their money & time". And than allow automatic tools, or microtransactions involving third parties.
  17. Then what is the problem if people bot? The same reasoning can be used here. I for one actually CARE about rs: I like it as a satisfactionary race to 99s all; even though I'm not winning I like to temporary race with people around me on the highscores - see how I progress.
  18. Yet is this so far away? Really in less than 6 months jagex is making it the standard to bring boni through a payable manner. This 180 degree turn from their former standpoint alone is not something that should happen without explanation. As such who is to say where jagex will stop now? Jagex -by not giving a credible formal explanation- is losing its credibility as a company a lot here, what statements can we "trust", how long? They say certain things won't be included into the buyable options: will this too be changed in 6 months? Than the other statements I made are simply logical consequences; based around the simple fact that gameplay should always be fair. Similar to how bots are terrible, as they provide an unfair advantage to some players who hence get ahead of others. (IF the game was solo play style hardly anyone would mind, look at the million bots/auto clickers for pacman). In rs the final goal for the majority of the population is simply the race to the highscores. I can repeat my argument here: but isn't it logical that if this race becomes unfair a large majority will quit? Other games can be succesful with micro transactions because the items don't interfere too much with the race. league of legends Sure you can buy your first few heroes & runes for those. But after you own a dozen of them; it basically comes down to how well you KNOW the heroes you play, not really how many. And getting this experience takes much more time than the time to earn a "new" hero. So the ultimate goal (getting high elo/winning most matches) isn't directly buyable, and the buying doesn't help you achieve this goal earlier. team fortres Here you can buy equipment. Gathering equipment takes a very long time. However once again buying equipment does not grant victory, it rather broadens the range of playstyles. But the equipment you can buy is not much stronger than the ones you start with (or find within a few hours).
  19. In other words: you like to buy victory. Can't people see that in a game where everything is tied together: GE, highscores, most activities like dging - such a system will destroy the fun for those who don't buy? The will fall behind; and with buying gold & xp possible there will be a constant inflation of both xp & gold. Soon being maxed is the only accepted format. In a gamestyle such as RS - microtransactions for items & especially xp are simply not a good thing to keep the game; they will ultimately destroy the fun for large groups. If jagex would wish to sell those items they should make it so that without said items a person can still play everything - microtransactions are only succesful if the buying doesn't make the person more strong - but just gives more options to the person.
  20. Would ofcourse be nice if it became open sourced as to allow anyone to learn if it is safe or not, but that's not something you can really expect.. Other than that: you have to trust tip.it itself for this; by hosting this tip.it shows they know it is safe. Do you trust tip.it? As for why the virus scanner might pop up: well the program does log the screen (and keystrokes). Not to send this data back, but to actually work - it needs to show the map right?
  21. Well wouldn't it be amazing if you could say: "!lvl.herb" and then you see a list of each team member's herblore lvl? To make everything according to jagex rules make the hiscore lookup only start once you type the command? Would help immensely for non maxed teams. (Do we need a potion for that 98 herblore door?).
  22. To expand on this... Why would you expect someone to sacrifice their own potential gain for your benefit? Do we really have people here who expect other people to be this magnanimous? If people have the money to spend, and it gets them ahead, why would you expect them to not do this? If this makes the game more fun for them, why would you expect them to sacrifice their joy? I think it's perfectly reasonable to be mad at Jagex and their investors for making this an option, but I don't understand how people can be so mad at other people for being human. Sure, I don't like it anymore than other people do. The more people spend the more Jagex is encouraged to do it. But it's not the players fault that it's an option, and if they can take advantage of it, there is no reason they shouldn't. Also, the people who are in a place in their lives where they see what the future implications of this will be are in a totally different place from the people who are spending money. The people spending money either don't care, or are not yet old enough to see this kind of big picture (or not old enough to care). It's like getting mad at a 6 year old for not understanding why their parents can't afford every toy in the store. Remember RS is a game: in a game the highest goal is to have fun & fair playing field. In any game where me and my friends find the rules not adequate we simply modify the rules to make it more fair, I won't stop playing the game I'll just play in my way. And we expect everyone to adjust to those rules. Similar to MMOs: when the rules set by jagex become ridiculous I will expect people to follow some different rules; as thanks to things like highscores & GE everyone is playing together. Otherwise they'll lose my respect completely, might not be a problem at for them but it is still the case.
  23. That's only due to rounding; and hence only if you gather resources daily.. (instead of like monthly).
  24. Yet people buying their xp is completely accepted practice? Heck even supported?
