That's very likely because you're on a LAN with a private address range(10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16) NATed behind a gateway device. Unless you have specifically requested multiple public addresses from your ISP, something like this probably shows the same address for all of those devices. Surely Jagex would account for something like this before banning someone for multi-logging. Otherwise anyone with more than one computer and more than one person who plays would be screwed. Things like this must be what make it so hard to prove multi-logging. Jagex CAN'T detect this, it's the way the internet works: jagex knows what IP adress it has to send the data too, than your router forwards the data to your PC. Jagex doesn't know anything behind a proxy.

WRONG, someone suspectible to addictions isn't capable of making a good, non-emotional stance against gambling. And even worse: children can't make the decision, their brains hasn't fully matured - and by gambling on young age, you activelly create gambling addictions. Really there's not for nothing a reason why gambling (just like alcoholics) isn't allowed before the age of 18/21. And what's worse: alcohol is a physical addiction, so you're only suspectible to gain addicted when actually drinking alcoholics. Gambling is a psychological addiction, so doing the psychological "gambling" will trigger addictions. @blutters, did you just agree with me? I stated that duel arena isn't comparable to gambling like dicing is.

From the looks of things, you're conflating "legality" with "morality". To some extent, gambling online may be illegal, but the larger problem is one of morality. I'd also like to point out that we've had the issue (or at least the hint of an issue) of gambling addiction and RuneScape for as long as I can remember. This issue had solely to do with the Duel Arena (surprise, surprise). Now, by your own posit, the Duel Arena would have been closed down and totally dismantled due to the very real problems of gambling staking addicts between 2004-2007. Jagex doesn't want to support a system in which RS skills aren't involved with the PRNG, and suggesting that such a system be implemented is only going to make this matter much bigger than it actually is. It's been said before, but it's worth repeating - just make dicing-like activities a bannable offense, and quit this ambiguous "against the spirit of the game" crap. There are enough people left in the community that will challenge this phrase until it is explicitly outlawed, much like luring was. Duel arena is not really gambling, as it is "hidden" enough to not be considered gambling - you're placing money and hoping you can OUTSKILL the opponent by having better stats / equipment, or using the items in a better manner. It has be shown time and again that even showing gambling to one who used to be addicted can easily trigger the addiction again. Ah cause a dictionary is better than a reasoning? Really can you only just take things literal and to the word? Instead of thinking the reasons behind the words? I fail to see how one can't see the difference between duel arena & dicing games, only lawyers would try to put the similarity. It's like saying chess is gambling cause you may not be equally good each day and you never know if you're as good as you were yesterday untill after the match.

Laws without reasons will quickly be removed, and if you wish to circumvent the law yet not the reason behind it, you'll quickly find the law adapted.

Doesn't really help to say "it's very simple to get 100k+ exp." Are you going to share or just keep saying it's simple? Also, the Yak gets 100k+ as well. What would be your "maximum exp" with this method? Had to find the video for it.. here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqdn8og49Xk I got about 150-170k exp on my first run using his death method, the absolute maximum exp is 243k but its near impossible to get Care to tell me WHAT it is? Instead of showing a video half the world can't see?

Sigh... Did you just not read my post? It's illegal for a reason, as addiction is always very close around the corner here. So whenever you gamble you always need to make sure people who are suspectable to addiction aren't close - even in a game. In a game it obviously doesn't matter if you lose everything. However someone who is vulnerable to gamble addiction will get addicted to "real life" gambling, even by seeing in game gambling. Similar they get addicted to gambling when their friends gamble in real life - that's always why to battle addictions you also have to make sure the environment works together with the person. THAT is why gambling is strictly regulated, houses have a list of people who are registered to be "addicted", and if they even allow such a person inside their buildings, they risk being closed indefinetally. Even online gambling. It has nothing to do with legalisation, but everything to do with protection.

Whey do you all insist on gambling being "legal"? - It's not for nothing in real life only 1 company is allowed to gamble (which is very closely watched by the goverment): gambling is bad, leads to addictions & should be strictly regulated so only those who won't get addicted are allowed into places where gambling takes place. If a game directly allows for gambling - without hiding it behind a skin of "skill", this is just terrible. Duel arena & conquest aren't really gambling: your skill MAY influence the outcome. As such it is more like "poker", where luck is a big part of the game, but ultimatelly it comes down to experience & skill. "dicing" games are illegal in real life, and also when played directly through a game. For good reasons.

Uhm dungeoneering type content is all about teamwork, teamwork vs the computer. It's uncrashable & multiplayer. Aren't there profitable methods that create stuff & require teamwork?

Those are single player methods.. I wish methods where the more people the merrier. You know, where the sum of parts is bigger than the parts alone.

Well I'm sick of it, I go to tds: someone crashes me.. I go to frosts: someone crashes me.. I am honestly sick of it, there are dozens of empty worlds and no one ever swaps worlds.. So tell me: is there in rs a money making method that works good and where people don't crash each other or otherwise try to scam? Where people activelly help each other against the AI. You know, the way a game is supposed to be played?

Ya, it's very easy. I could do it with my eyes closed. Well It's impossible for me to check wether youré actually doing this, but otherwise you would have a bet now :P.

Notice however that for comparing those things you should compare a standard team, not the pros not the bad teams.. Those teams you just form with some randoms wandering around runescape not serious about DG, yet wishing to train it and doing all their best while at it. Those have around 40 minute for a large. With a team there's a much bigger difference between the top method & the normal method than for solo play.

Maybe they should add a "global dg lobby" - simply outside the game a specific unlimited chat lobby with 1 extra feature: to form a team and then as team join a world (and be teleported to DG). From this global dg lobby they should obviously also add some "automatic form teams" method, where you just wait a minute or 5 and then you're given 5 mates of near equal lvls. Those auto-select rooms have existed since the beginning of Dungeoneering, it's just that for some reason, no one ever puts them to their intended use. Cause it's not "easy" to use.. Many other games have auto selection and it works there. However in rs you simply have to stay online, and there are only 2k possible candidates (and on top of that, they only assign based on open floors, not based on skill levels). Those kind of rooms need a lot of momentum before getting popular.

That would still make the game the same: as it is already random you can't know it and it's still a chance game where you have a certain win percentage.

Absolutely nothing? Right when these investors stepped in early last year is when we started to see the introduction of the Refer a Friend, Loyalty Points, in-game items w/game card stuff, etc... I don't have any experience in the gaming business but I do know something as a recording artist, and that is the people who finance you (your board of directors, your publishing house, your record label) have the final say. If your music isn't poppy enough, isn't metal enough, upbeat enough, etc... guess what? Your music is going to be poppy'er or more upbeat or whatever they want. Control over the direction of your art doesn't just mean something, it means everything. i agree. jagex isnt out there to purely satisfy the customers. it's priority is to satisfy investors. so the investors will determine the direction of rs, for the better or for the worse. Can't you just see the pervesity of this? Customers is king used to be the saying from any company. What happened to the angelsaksian economy that it's now so perverse that only money count?

Hi there, Another task I don't have gotten earlier: mutated jadinkos.. With my slayer level I can beat both the guards as well as the babies, if I aim for profit which of those should I kill? - And how?

With HTML5, and -especially webGL- we can rapidly see browser based gaming increase. And then actual browser based gaming, not something like JAVA which only runs through a browser, yet doesn't use the benefits of browser based programs. (Safety for the user is a prime, total independency of platform, speed a third important factor). WebGL allows for (default) operations drawing speed to be just as fast as native applications, the only thing that won't work is custom shader models etc. (They'll first have to be passed through the CPU, so a clever design might pre-cache them during loading of the game). THIS will be a very big future factor of gaming, as those things are ideal for iPads/galaxy notes and tablet computers. Also they will work correctly with cloud computing, which might very well be the future of whole PC operations. (I personally really dislike that, but it IS the current thing).

I hate turning left... Always making 3 turns right instead of a left turn - so I use the south eastern one as that's a right turn when walking from tele spots.
