  1. Hi, I started up my account once again - to see how far I can go currently; my goal is still simply 95 pray & 94 herblore. And my question is: what are considered strong money gaining activities? I currently don't own much equipment (whip, eee, verac bottom, fighter torso, dragon defender & neitiznot is all that's left) and "only" 25M cash.
  2. Hi there, I was planning to finish my morytania tasks - as such I need to get a blood tablet.. However it seems the great orb project world is completely empty? Where do people go nowadays?
  3. I wonder how they link my email to runescape though. - I do only get them at my email I used to register for runescape. So is jagex selling those email adresses?
  4. buyable xp boosts would simply be terrible... What's the point of membership in the future if all updates are becoming paid only?
  5. They would have too: otherwise they won't be able to keep up.
  6. I just returned to runescape after a 8 month hiatus; but Isn't this silly - now with the buyable xp anyone with a large pile of money (say 100 000) can buy itself to 200m.
  7. Obviously this person has no idea what he's talking about. Microtransaction games that are FTP base (LORTO/GW/LOL) sell items that ENHANCE gameplay, xp boosts, bags, champs, and the like. Games that are Sub based (RS, wow) charge a monthly fee and offer COSMETIC/fun items for a price. Pets, mounts, etc. In fact, if anything Jagex is more greedy/ The SOF actually gives you XP in the form of lamps. I'm sorry but when somebody blatently lies I have to do a password recovery to set it right. LOL (league of legends) does not sell items that enhance gameplay: merely only skins for heroes.
  8. but are you that immoral? Why do you act like a complete egoistical person, only caring about your own wealth and not about others HEALTH? "as long as I have good money I don't care about others". What's up with that? You're activelly pursuing people's addiction, you're making use of other people for nothing but some cash. Really if you're that egoistical there's little point of discussing, you already have formed your own world, and I have formed mine - worlds that simply can't understand each other.
  9. Well the best measure of how "alive" a certain game (or online webpage) is is by looking at how many NEW people come to said game. New people are always needed to keep a game alive and lack of new people coming to a game is often an early indication of a game losing it's popularity. If I look around me, my friends obviously are less into runescape than 8 years ago. However if I look at my youngest brother (7 years younger than me) even between his friends runescape doesn't have the popularity I remember. So I'm wondering, what kind of reduction is player base we're actually experiencing the last few years?
  10. Well in the past I liked doing slayer for money. But with the constantly drop of prices in slayer & growth in supply price this just becomes non profitable anytime soon in the near (year) future.
  11. Well maybe it's just me getting frustrated about the unstability of the RS economy at the moment. Prices just change faster than I can keep up with them. A small update can cause a very big chain-like reaction to the economy and it seems really "tense". I could go RC (I already gained 30k to 92 rc atm) - however I constantly fear the same thing happened like a few years back: before I get the time to devote really into it the prices crash...
  12. Does that statement truly apply considering they were developing software they knew to be illegal, against the game's TOS, and having no other purpose other than to continue to violate those terms? If something's sole purpose is to violate set guidelines, most people would understandably label the creators and their works as "bad". The act of using it illegally is not good. The act of creating it is good. - At least that's how I work against things, and I know many others see it in the same way. Similarly how previously reading ".doc" files with other tools than those provided by microsoft was against the terms of use by microsoft. Yet lots of tools did appear in the open source circuit. "Illegal" by law, though they're yet considered "good alternatives" nowadays.
  13. That's a weird and debateable statement you make there? Why can't an MMO aim for casual gamers? I by no means have any reason to go "fast" through everything, just as fast as possible but with my own playtime. By providing support for a stable growth you would have a great market of players who just like to see something build up over the years. Actually I dare say that a game which deliberatelly focus on keeping people playing for as long as possible in a short period of time is unhealthy, and should be frowned upon. Instead I see MMO's as exactly the type of game which can activelly support long-staying players, who just wish to play every once in a while and slowly progress. Especially runescape, where you don't have to train fulltime to be "good".
  14. How can someone who CREATES something get any problems? It's somethign I never understand and won't ever: creating is good, it bring news technology and helps life forward. It doesn't matter what you create as long as you are creating and using it for correct means it should never ever be regarded as "bad". I'm very much against the act of botting. However now they're just kiling a bee by removing all plants and flowers. Instead this lawsuit should go against the people who BOT. Jagex has even mail adresses & local data of them, why aren't they simply doing that, and calling every botter to the court? Really this seems once again the world upside down, but that's to be expected from the otherside of the world, they live upside down there :P.
  15. Problem is: the longer I play rs, the further (in time) I get from high slay/herb/prayer.. It seems the current pace simply isn't followable by a casual gamer anymore, and either I have to keep doing the same boring things untill I'm maxed or well.... little options if bones grow faster in price than I can earn money.
  16. Well I can only play during the weekends, or offweeks (and then only like 2 hours in total each day) as I'm terribly busy with my study these days. And last time I checked (september/october last year) farming snapdragons wasn't all that profitable anymore :/, I'll recalculate it soon. But I'm currently 85 magic, 95 is quite a long run :P. How is that "lower levels" though? Lower is 60ish? But what's more frightening: consider someone was new to rs, they'd have no manner to catch up soon anymore, there seems to be a growing gab between "lower lvl money earners" and "higher level". I've been playing from rsc btw, just never ever bothered with earning money and just always went castlewars, stealing creation, dungeoneering, questing, barbarian assault..
  17. Well my stats are all around 80, melee 90-95, range 91.. Then the "buyables" which are around 70.
  18. This. I don't really understand how you can drop it fast enough but not pick it up. Dropping happens from inventory - at that moment your "character" won't look where it stands. When you try to pick up you send to the sever the code where you stand and a request to pick that item up. The server than sees that you stand in a spot where you shouldn't be capable of going, and simply thinks you "hacked". As a measure it puts you away from that spot and won't let you pick up the item. You're moved away BECAUSE you interact with the world. With dropping you don't interact with the world.
  19. Well I "know" a few them alright: dks > need 96 summoning tds > need turmoil/extremes to not get crashed glacors > similar to tds nex > need maxed stats armadyl > need maxed ranging corp > need overloads But as you can see, I honestly have no idea how to jump the barrier between "basic outfit" and "95 pray, herblore & summoning". Actually, once I'd have jumped that gab you hardly NEED cash anymore - you can do just everything already, maybe 99 summoning might be a goal then, so that really made me wondering: why do people require those things in guides? Isn't that kind of silly, require things to have which you wish to earn through that?
  20. Well those are good for "standard" things, to gain an outfit of like 30m.. However considering I need to buy (for slayer) around 200M on cannonballs. - Or for ranging, 100M+ in chinchompas. With an income of around 1M at barrows that would take me more than 2 years..
  21. Hi there, I'm wondering more and more: how do people get the money to chin/cannon? I hear "boss" or other things constantly. But then for bosses you need maxed stats, to get maxed stats before I'm 80 years old I need to cannon and to cannon I need more cash? How come some people apparently have cash out of thin air?
  22. Or maybe make people finally realise the sweet thing about rs is (was?) that maxing was just a goal, not the main fun, start of fun (unlike in WOW where you first need to max before you can do the main events). The fun (for me, and I know quite a few people around me) comes from unlocking new stuff, being able to do more. A new skill thus gives a lot of new fun.
  23. hmm anyone thinks there will be a something like barrows but then for teams? Where you get a "monster per cc"?
  24. Uhm isn't duel arena about how to USE the stats? IE: who can react faster on prayer switches, who can eat at better oppertunities, walk under the person to gain ticks etc. That's the impression I (and many others) have with duel arena, I don't see it as gambling, as you're constantly in control over the outcome. The focus isn't on the gambling of money, but rather on the fighting - and by changing that focus addictions are way less likely. Look I'm not saying jagex should go out of their way to prevent any form of gambling - they're not a company aimed at preventing addictions. However blatantly allow, even suggest, gambling like with those dices (and some people here suggested they should come back) is simply bad.
  25. Cause training (prayer, herblore) is feasable without cash?
