  1. Yes, but even if you do akrisae as first, you'll have enough prayer left to do dharok, karil & ahrim..
  2. Afaik the law hasn't passed in congress yet. And in its current form it won't pass (or well I strongly doubt it will, the current form isn't enforceable). However what I posted is one of the prime suggestions made to the law to actually gain goodwill. As the biggest objection is simply that the law forces webhosts to control customers - yet it didn't provide the tools to do so. Allowing DPI will give webhosts the necessary tools + they gain powerful marketing mechanisms.
  3. From servers located in the US - yes. And actually it's a very gray area when they're dealing from servers of the US with people from outside the US. As the only way for sure if a customer is from the US or not is by something like DPI.
  4. Actually part of that "stop online piracy act" that the US goverment just started using allows for servers based in the US to do this. The reasoning obviously must be to look if you don't have pirated software, but there's no way to control this. So from the start of this year jagex is allowed to do this for american citizens.
  5. May I question why you start with dharok? Taking the way how prayer reduction works into account wouldn't it be best to start with the slowest brothers (which you pray). For me ahrim - dharok - karil - akrisae - verac (out of pray around here) - guthan works best? I'm thinking of moving akrisae to the very start, however sometimes I am out of pray during that brother, so that might mean I have to do karil without pray halfway sometimes....
  6. ahrim I'd say.. Or otherwise the borther you're spending most time on pps-ing.
  7. old req of 65? u know the last highest fm req for quest was 71 right? and ya the whole lighting a candle thing would suck if it happened haha Well balloon quest was 65, and that's the only thing I remember for FM training.. But my point still stands: the gap between 71 & 90 is too big to fill without a single quest inbetween.
  8. I'm not opposed to high level content.. However don't you think there's quite a big "gap" between the old requirement of 65 and 90? I think a lv 70- & 80-something quest should be released before a 90ish quest should. Also with 90 lvl requirement, I sure hope it's not something trivial like "light this candle - than go into the dungeon, and that's it for fm".
  9. They've (general they) been claiming that the game was dying for something like 6 years now. It's really taking its time. So rs not only fails as a game? It also fails to die? O.O
  10. But can both boni activate at the same time?
  11. then why use recoveries at all? - Why not just use a password? If they can crack a random number of letters & signs once, they can do it multiple times too.
  12. Well I don't have void (only range helm). + I'm only considering doing this for a short time - so don't plan on getting the helm + rank for the last item. Neither do I have soulsplit, so that leaves me to EEE? Or food? Also is ahrims better than verac considering you dont'need magic offense? Is dds better than korasi?
  13. Well I'd like to do a few barrows before returning to frosts/slayer, but I have some questions regarding equip: I already own rapier/polypore staff korasi/eee + guthans body + verac skirt + glory + blessed spirit shield (and zammy book/drag def). The plan is to mage all except ahriim/tunnels who I will be meleeing. Does EEE or korasi work better? Yet I have around 15-20M "free", I was wondering on what I could spent this best on: - bandos corpse plate to replace guthans body - bandos tassets - fury Also I don't have spec restores/extreme magics, so maybe I should spent some cash on making those instead?
  14. Would house > canafis be better in long term? - As you don't have to charge drakan's if teleing from canafis. But with a rapier the ardy cape is a natural choice.
  15. I'm really doubting, from jagex perspective: does F2P, need, or even be good with highscores? To answer it first reverse the situation: "what if runescape did never have highscores for f2p, would it be good to add it?" From Jagex standpoint F2P will always be their "marketing tool": they wish to gain more members by having f2p join up. This can either be achieved by having more F2P join the game monthly, or having a higher percentage of newcomers gain membership. People who always stay F2P will for jagex never be truly beneficial. They don't dislike them -they give the f2p game more depth- but they also have little incentive to cater the game around them. Now once you realize this look again at the update. Jagex really likes F2P, as long as a good percentage gets P2P eventually (or quits). Now what about the highscores? If a completely new person comes to runescape, is the first thing he looks at the highscores? - Is that the very first thing he minds about? I doubt it, I think he first wants to understand the controls, how the world works.. Some quests & doing some random skilling. Only then he starts to look for highscores. And now comes jagex again: they like to improve the percentage of people to get P2P, and not lower the amount of newcomers to F2P. Was this a bad move?
  16. trick with blood bombs is to simply keep walking.. Doesn't matter the distance with him, as long as you don't stand more than 1 game tick at the same square... So attack him and immediatelly move.. This is why I prefer melee over crossbows as with crossbows there's the animation delay.
  17. barrows? At least till the prices adjust to *2 droprate. (like a week).
  18. What you're refering to is captcha, and yes bots can solve them. Most normal spambots on the internet can't but it's certainly not rare to see ones that solve it. Even Tipit gets a fair number of spambots even though we have captcha. It keeps most of them out, but if someone wants to get in, they'll get in. Captchas are generally never solved... What is done is that they pay a chinese employee to make bots.. Whereas each modern country has those companies banned (they only work cause they can underpay employees, and let employees doo much work) third world, malafide countries like china have not. It is a big market if you look for it, many companies offering service like "100 0000 captcha's solved daily for $100-200" Heck for these prices it's stupid to create a bot.
  19. A strong NO versus the suggestions made in the end of the first article: discovering the world is a big part of the game.. The gnomes with "their army" are simply a "logical" place to train agility. I still remember clearly my first day in members, I set a goal for myself: I want to train agility so I don't have to walk all the time. And I started walking towards that far north east corner. Whenever I saw somethign I went to test it out: quests, new monsters etc etc. This gave me a good overview of many quests, and how runescape works. Herblore & summoning starts with the druids. Hunting in the jungle areas.. Etc etc And even on the f2p world, it would be very dull if everythign was crammed together in a big "open" space. Really travelling, discovering, and learning are all basic things of an RPG. I also remember the very first day of playing rs: I died 3 times being "lured" into the wilderness. Well 2 times I was lured.. The third time I met someone else of lv 7(!) and we walked around rs.. Saw an impressive foe right there at barbarian village. (And I remember really gettin frightened those barbarians would focus me and ko me).. And ran (accidently) into wilderness.. Those things are all learning, the second day I decided to go more "in focus". I saw that I needed armour, and looked up how to make armour: smithing.. But then I need ores? - Well let's look where I can mine..... *walks*.. Hey here south of falador I can mine decently good, let's stick here to lv 20.. *grinds*. Really rs is very easy to learn & understand with basic knowlenge. Now what is the big step is between being very fast levels (first 30) and having to get higher then: you suddenly need to participate in player interaction. THIS is a big step, "what is a valuable price?" - "how to ever get that cash" - "wow I need to spent much time, but what is best to do?" The solutions presented here won't fix above problems, and only make rs more dull & more grindy actually. Variety makes grinding less of a "feel like grinding".
  20. 1. Don't ban the bots. Make an extra whatever money. Maybe lose a few guys here and there. The people who are still addicted to my game are going to pay anyways and there's not a damn thing they can do about it, because they've invested far too much into my game already. Huehuehuehuehuehue. Seriously. Look at the number of posters on the official forums, for instance. Even if every single one of those guys ragequit, Jagex loses maybe, what, 1000-2000 posters? This isn't counting the F2P, of course, which is also a sizable portion. Vocal minority. I've said it over and over again. 2. Ban the bots now (how DO we tell bots from addicts to me game, anyways?). Lose the bot money. No guarantee of attracting players back because people'll just whine about the next thing we throw out. Best if we ban a few things periodically ... See where I'm going? Most players quit Runescape not because of bots, but because the game is no longer enjoyable. Why? Maybe real life finally caught up. Or maybe they realize that the accomplishments they've achieved matters very little in the end. However, it is awesome to hop onto the bot bandwagon and proclaim loudly that you're quitting out of a sense of justice and that bots are too bad and blah. Bots are a problem. But perhaps the game itself is at fault for being so simplistic. Nowadays, it takes more than simple Skinnerian mechanisms to keep players entertained. Sorry to say, but their logic is pretty simple. If you're fed up enough, you've quit already, and bots or no bots there isn't a thing we could do to make you come back and spend money anyways. So ... *waves* We know you'll be back. Do you imply bots are good for the game? Then if they are, why wouldn't jagex just jump it, and start selling items themself commonly bought from bots - apparently that is actually "good".. And by providing a safe manner to do so they can both prevent overcrowding, & bad experiences about bad sellers.. On top of that they can make more profit than those bots earn them (face it: a bot earns more money by selling his items than it costs to run the bot. So apparently there's a market where people want to spent more on this game). But nooooo once jagex seems to indicate any micro transaction people jump and shout that it is bad for the game. Yet bots -who are effectivelly micro transactions- are not bad?
  21. wat There used to be 2 quests a month.. Than there only came 1 quest, but apparently the quality would be like "wgs" for most quests.. And now there's not even 1 quest. Maybe 1 every other month? - Really the old quests weren't 4 times as bad as the new ones.. The quality didn't rise proportional with the reduction in number. How many master/grandmaster quests were they putting out during those 2 quest per month times? The fact of the matter is, the game is evolving, and because of this the type of content being put out is changing from low level content to high level content. Do you want to go back to two experienced or novice rating quests a month instead of getting master quests and the occasional grandmaster? Yes if they bring some story.. The whole underground pass, mep series were more difficult -at that time- than grandmaster quests. And desert treasure was certainly more gamebreaking than any quest I've seen since. And what to think about ghost ahoy, that was innovative at the time (opened up alternative methods for prayer training). Really slapping numbers on monsters is just an easy thing, and they could easily change desert treasure to be more difficult than rom. The amount of "game breaking" quests hasn't really changed that much.. However now they just skip everything else, even the quests which just bring more lore.
  22. Lol I hope it is better than dominion of lol.. That was a piece of unbalanced annoyance.. No support role, no nuke role, only assasin + carries?

    Lost 250m.

if my email would get hacked, rs is the last thing that is on my mind. My job, all sensitive information, university troubles.. Those are much more "real" than a simple game.
  24. I hope you are making a joke here... Or otherwise I hope you're still a child and need to grow up a little bit. The argument you fired at me here is a non argument, it is like those republicans who refuse to believe there is increased global warming because it doesn't fit their agenda.. And then say "but we aren't completely certain". - You can never be, and just like that you can never describe "society" or "improvement" everyone knows what it is. But really if you ultimate goal is to play runescape, and you believe you help others with that. Be my guest. I just hope you are trolling me and will know what is important once you have to make a decision.
