It's a simple case of if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Runescape has an economy based on supply and demand, and rather than come up with an actual solution, the OP just wants Jagex to regulate the market price down to a point he considers fair. Do you honestly think Chin sellers won't just trade outside of the Grand Exchange if Jagex were to implement such an update? In reality "supply and demand" economics because the average person isn't hitted directly by it. - There's lot of sellers & buyers inbetween before the customer gets an item - and those normalize the prices preventing big fluctuations.. RS has since the GE gained a terrible economy, without inbetween sellers there's no smooth price flow & only short selling is encouraged. This is terrible & I've taken a stance to not do anything with it.

Since when is that hte case for a GAME? Since every single RPG that was almost ever made. If you don't like it, then clearly this isn't your sort of game. There's nothing to blow the whistle on here. The game is working exactly as it should, in this respect. It's not a lofty, bs laden debate of principles, and people need to stop trying to turn it into one. Ah, and thanks for the info about the ratios. Though, if that was true and he wanted a 'quest at every other level' (assuming he was still allowed to enforce such a goal) then I don't understand where the heel-digging-in is coming from. It has to happen some time sooner or later, if what he says is to be believed. My first post in this topic was that I'm not opposed to 90-level req quests.. However I dislike a "gap" in levels - something that would've been the case when the FM req was 90 now. While previous level requirement was only 70.

Since when is that hte case for a GAME? Really and the work for a QUEST, should be the QUEST, and all previous QUESTS. Not some arbitrary random grinding factor. About the ratios: in one of the interviews a year of somewhat back, andrew (or someone else) said that they weren't long finished with rs: "they wished to ultimatelly have rs consist of half questing half skilling, having a quest every other level".
-
With this quest, definitely :D It has *Zaros* lore and it's done by *Mod Ana*. Has to be a great quest :D Wow you really are objective with your opinions. What I really hate is that rs stil doesn't give 50% of the time quests, while many times JAGEX has said that their aim was that rs levelling was 50% questing 50% grinding. By putting a mark at 92 they simply force people to consttantly grind. Why? - Just to annoy people? Many people are given their right: you can't use many items in pvp as the pkers can't be bothered to get them. But why do I have to grind as a quester? Why is that considered normal, or even good?

Well I don't have cash for virtus.. (40m cash, though also considering buying ss/turmoil soon). I just wish to slay without worrying about cash etc, just relaxing :P.

Hi there, In the past I've always ranged the myth dragons, simply karils + protect from magic prayer worked very smoothly. Now I wish to add some variation and use my PPS/arcane stream combo :P. I'm wondering what a good/the best setup would be? - I wish to earn a profit killing them though.

Uhm that article states no source at all.....

You can't continuasly grow.. At some point you're just destroying earth's resources. There's only 1 organism that uses this mechanism: virusses. A business shouldn't nowadays strive to grow anymore: but instead to stabilize.

Magic damage boosts and multitaget spells
pulli23 replied to MotherBrainII's topic in Help and Advice
Remember that accuracy boost "does" work: as you'll hit the whole group if you hit the prime target.. And all boosts work at least on the prime targets. I think all boosts only work on the prime target. -
@ hatebringer: well price difference between PPS & rapier is low: rapier costs 133 coins per hit. Polypore staff costs 190 coins per hit. And given the fact you ko dragons in less hits (though might be more time, difficult to say) + the fact you dont'have to use prayer potions on melee prot prayer (only had mystic might on), meant that magic is the same cost as rapier / dragon killed.
-
Uhm melee seems way less effective than PPS.. And increased accuracy isn't much for magic there. Only brother I"m meleeing is ahrim. Well you spawn in canafis, with your amulet.. Really rs can't go "wrong" anymore.
-
Still decided to mage, now that it is payable & half decent I'm taking up my old hobby of maging everything again :P. Wasn't bad, with melee I miss around 50% of the time (with piety & extremes). With mage I missed only 10-20% of the time.
-
Actually ahrim robeskirt is more expensive than ganodermic.. (and has 1 more mage attack). Wouldn't dragon boots be better?
-
investors? Nothing good ever comes from such scum... They hold companies for no other reason that QUICK money, even though the name implies they invest to have a return at a later time, they never look 20 years ahead.
-
Well melee is in the mid 90s, and magic 87.. I'm wishing to raise both actually.. Gear I can more or less just buy (using verac skirt, glory, proselyte top for melee, stream + ??? for mage)
-
Hi there, I just received a steel dragon task, and am wondering what I should do: either mage them with PPS - Or melee with C-rapier?

Yes it's confirmed that there is no skill currently in development(Well, it was the case at Runefest at least). By now, it's just a discussion going on about possible new skills or changes to existing ones. Without a new skill RS will begin it's end of life cycle: new skills are great marketing tools to gain new users (even just as members it's a good "indication" to start runescape). Revitalizing skills doesn't have that effect: as the name simply implies they're fixing broken parts, not much new content. So if jagex wants to cater new users -which they have to unless they wish to steadily build down on runescape (do they have alternatives to make money?)- they have to come up with new stuff.

A lot of your post was correct - except this part. It is still possible to write a bot/function that will interact with RuneScape even if it's not the topmost window or even visible. So, for example, I could tell my script where a tree is and it'll look for that tree, be able to watch my inventory for logs and drop them when the inventory fills. It wouldn't be the same method as before, but it still rather easy. You know when you put your mouse over the taskbar buttin of a window and can see a live/updating small preview in Vista+ even if said window is minimized? Coding wise, very similar. The bot would not use object IDs, but color/pattern recognition still usable. I've known how it's done without injection and reflection for quite a while (Mentioned it during the discussion of my functions when Jagex made an update affecting mouse clicks). That's not too easy, nor easily accessible for the average person; As runescape runs a 3d-screen, windows may decide not to render it anymore when it is no longer on top (and you have a full screen program running on top). - To save resources. With the Aero theme (and previews) this doesn't happen often, though it's no guarantee. But everyone should understand that getting rid of the bots is not possible, and shouldn't be an aim. I've often helped people with game development, and a topic that keeps repeating is how to prevent people from stealing your game. - Well this isn't possible. The only reason why copyright protection is added to software is to make it more difficult: you wish to discourage the average user from using copied illegal software. Same is the case for bots: the only thing jagex should aim for is to discourage the average scaper of getting involved with bots. Removing the fastest & easiest manner to bot (directly editing the client data) removes a lot of botters. As pattern/colour recognition isn't something "easy" - it is quite demanding on your cpu.

"Jagex's Place in the Gaming Industry" is a bit of a misleading title: the article only talks about jagex' upcoming games, viewed from a gamers point of view. While with such a title, I'd like to hear some information about jagex and how they have connections with other companies, what they brought gaming as a whole, etc etc. But a better title for the article wouldve been "jagex' alternative games" or something. (BTW: as "jagex" ends with an "s" sound it doesn't have the extra s)

none of those skills will ever be important because RS is not that kind of MMO Fishing, crafting, runecrafting and fletching all all very important to the game as we know it. Take them out and magic would be massively more expensive and difficult to do, same would go for ranging with bolts. Crafting's absence you could wave goodbye to all the useful amulets and rings and a good slice of mage armours. No fishing? say goodbye to like the entire food market. Even msot of the others have a few important roles to play; they only ones on that list that are pretty much entirely useless in relation to other skills is thief and FM With PPS you only need fire runes - which are still such a common drop from slayer monsters I think you can keep maging and never run out of fires there. The other part of PPS needs can't even be crafted.

Auto retaliate is your friend :). When racing against an overload and killing 7 brothers every second counts  You're playing an MMO, don't forget to socialize & talk with the others who also are doing the same thign.. Otherwise you might just download a single player game and don't use bandwidth which is much better for the environment. So saying "every second counts" is pretty stupid, yet sadly said too often in RS. Despite the fact that Runescape bills itself as an MMO, it is nonetheless very playable in many other forms, including single-player. Who are you to judge others as to how they play this game? I'm myself, caring about the environment, and noticing the massive amount of data, servers and other resources being wasted for people who don't need, or even use, it.

That would make me quite sad.... I was hoping for something new to do.... You've still got LOADS of what's already in the game left to do. Keyword: New But existing content he hasn't already tried is technically new, too. :P After burning 1k yew logs it isn't exactly "new" anymore.. Yet I still have to do another 100k.
-
BTW: Should I just add that I've "left" runescape many times before.. I've not played runescape since octobre till now (starting to play again), as I was busy playing another game - LOL :P. However I grew fed with the decisions of riot/and the community (the creators of LOL), so I returned to runescape. Point I want to make: No game will be perfect, and especially in MMOs you'll always get more and more annoyed. Just leave, be happy, do something else, and maybe return (or not).
