I got 75 farming by checking health on a magic tree, so you didn't need the level to check health when I last checked. I also planted dwarf weeds with spicy stew and got exp from picking.

I can't try it out myself because i'm f2p right now. :cry:

According to this, you can not get experience from harvesting crops unless you have the required level. Does this mean that if i use garden pies or spicey stews to plant high level herbs or trees, I will no longer get harvesting/ check health exp?

In one thread, a forum user ranting about the assist update managed to argue with a forum mod for over 6 full pages, and STILL didn't understand why the update didn't hurt him. I wanted to slap that forum mod for trying to argue with an idiot and expect him to listen to reason. #-o

I noticed 2 unfair advantages of this system: 1: Bones to peaches- you need more than just 60 mage to use this spell, you also need to complete the mage training arena MINIGAME (they said minigames are excluded from the update), which takes HOURS and costs a lot of money in runes. Not to mention, peaches are UNTRADEABLE. 2: Farming higher level herbs- I can actually see macros abusing farming now. Before the update, if you had herb seeds but not the level to use them, you could sell them, but almost no one would actually grow it for you. Now you can grow it yourself, and any high level farmer will gladly accept the planting exp for it.

My only objection is that now there are 4 options that you get for right clicking on someone. This means, among other things, pking is slightly more difficult. When you go clan pking, it's harder to find the right click option for attack, especially during clan wars. Also when there are a lot of players in one square, and you want to, say, trade one of them, fewer names will appear on your screen. Jagex specifically left monk fishing and lava eel catching out of the assist system, because of quest requirements. This was rather superfluous, because you need to complete the quest, AND have the fishing level just to access monkfish. And for lava eels, you need a special rod from the quest. Also, Jagex left Bones to Peaches in the assist system, even though that spell is a MINIGAME reward that takes HOURS and lots of expensive runes to achieve. Although there were already bones to peach tabs, so its the same thing really.

It says that if I grow a high level seed using assist, you don't get any exp for picking unless you have the level to grow it. Does this mean that if I pot up with a spicy stew or garden pie, I won't get any picking exp anymore?

Ironically, this doesn't seem to be a problem on f2p worlds. I've spent the last week as f2p. And after this update, the main difference is people offering their assistance for crafting instead of offering free gem cutting. Of course they get mad when 99% of the people who ask them for assistance have no idea what they're doing.

yes, but even with the ditch the ranters had a little bit of an argument. They ditch DOES make abyss crafting about 1-2 seconds longer. And it IS an eyesore. But I really can't see anything wrong with assist AT ALL. How do you rant about a PERFECT update?

Yes, it finally happened. All reason and sense are gone. The rants and recent updates forums are full and no one there makes any sense at all. It hasn't been this bad since they updated pest control. I even heard a rumor about a RIOT, just like when they almost banned swift switch. Isn't it kind of funny how the Assist System update managed to make everyone angry at Jagex in a way that hasn't happened in months! Unlike all other things people have found reasons to hate Jagex for, this one is based on absolutely NOTHING. The update has hurt nobody, will not affect the economy at all. Its only real purpose is to make trust trades safer. How has the runescape community finally sunk this far?

Kill one of the ranger monkeys on the towers. When I did the quest, there was a little bug that let me melee one of them from the tall grass, and since it couldn't see me, it didn't even fight back! :lol:

You're right. I tried to sell 1k diamond and 6k ruby bolts that I had made using this method, and I ended up LOSING money, even though I had an amazing deal on gem tips, because no one would buy the finished bolts until I lowered the price way down, and even then it took hours to sell them all on the forums. :( Great exp though :roll:

I believe you need to use a demon mahogany lecturn to get xp rates that high.

Still a good guide even after all this time :D except the moneymaking part is out of date. Very useful to me now that I'm training a f2p pure.

Good point. We DEFINITELY need more cowbells :lol: . All i'm saying is that we haven't had a serious quest in a while. Not ALL quests need obscure pop culture references. Just some.

There are so few coming into the market that you don't have much risk of losing money over time. The only reason they don't cost 150m right now is cause NO ONE WANTS THEM :twisted: . Get it if you like it. Sell it when you dont want it.

I have killed the kq in 2 trips with full veracs solo, so if you're taking 3 trips, you might as well just use veracs. Maybe use mask for the first form and switch to v helm for second.

they alch for 330 gp actually, so alching may be worth it. My best advice is to collect gems whenever you see them. Make then into bracelets and alch or sell, or use. Clay bracelets are very good moneymakers if you mine and sell soft clay.

I'm pretty sure flesh crawlers are the fastest way. Maybe pyrefiends instead.
