Yes, you can make money without merchanting. For most skills, all you have to do is stick to it, and money will come. Please be aware some skills are better than others. So here they are...the skills in alphabetical order! Agility What a bad one to start with. :? Next to construction, it is the worst skill to make money with. I guess there are still a few ways though. Here are the three that come to mind: Level 20- This one really helps with mining. It makes the coal trucks much easier to get too. Besides the mining guild, it is the best place to get coal in the game. Level 40- The Birmhaven Agility Arena- Not very good, I suppose you could buy snapdragons with your tickets. They sell for a decent price. Very slow cash though. Level 70- This makes dragon killing soooo much easier. It is for the shortcut in the Taverly dungeon. It is rather close to a bank with this shortcut. Without it is a good 5 minute walk. Combat Whew, done with agility! This is actually one of the better money makers in the game. Here are my suggestions: Barrows- I'm not going to write a barrow guide for everyone, but the basics is that you kill six powerful brothers. At the end you open a chest and get some runes, bolt racks, coins, or even barrow armor! This rare armor sells for very high prices. The runes are good money makers if you don't use them all by maging the brothers. Dueling- Again, I'm not gonna write a guide about this. You challenge players to a duel in the arena, set a stake, and hopefully win and collect the spoils! Some players make special accounts with high defense and attack, low strength and prayer. These tend to be successful here. PK'ing- This is so broad that I can't really explain exactly what to do. It goes like this, you kill a player, you get their items! Keep in mind you can lose just as much as you can gain, so be careful. Never take what you really don't want to lose. Monsters- When a monster dies it drops some items. Simple as that. The ones I'm going over are higher leveled monsters. The two most popular are Daggonath Kings and the Kalphite Queen. The DK's drop dragon axes, seerculs, mud battlestaffs, bezerker rings, archer rings, seer rings, and warrior rings. The KQ drops the most expensive drop in the game, the dragon chainbody! These monsters are very powerful though, you should always go as a high level'ed team. Construction The worst money maker of them all. Bad start to the guide, eh? Flatpacking- Maybe this was a decent maker the first week. I guess you could make a few k of this. I never see people in banks saying "buying teak chair 4k" though. Teleport tablets- The only way to really make a profit. You can sell these to people who can't do the spell themselves or use ancient magiks. You need a lecturn in your house to make them. You also need runes and soft clay. Cooking Yay, done with the bad two! Cooking is sorta hard to make money with by itself. Combined with fishing though, it is very good. Cook lobsters, monkfish, swordfish, and sharks sell for very good profit. Tuna and sweetcorn potatoes also sell for a lot, but they take forever to make. Crafting Crafting can be a decent money maker, it's not a very popular one though. Level 10- Bow strings can be one of the best money makers by lower levels in the game. It's how i made my first 50k, 100k, and even 500k! You go to Seers Village, pick a full load of flax, spin it into bow strings upstairs in the building north of the alter(people should be going into it), bank, and repeat! They sell for 150-180 each(you need to go to the official fourms to sell for higher than 150.) You can also sell just the flax for 100 each. Dragonhide armor- Hides are generally cheap, and the armor usually sells for a profit. You can also alch the bodies for a profit, if you get the hides yourself. I don't feel like typing all the levels. :XD: Level 80- Dragonstone amulets. Crystal keys and dragonstones usually sell for 50-60k. The amulets usually sell for 70k. They can be a decent money maker. Farming Aside from popular belief, this can be one of the best money makers on RuneScape. Personally, this is one of my favorite money makers and skills. 32 farming- Ranarr weed. This is an awesome money maker. I'm talking 150k an hour. The sweet part is, you don't have to be farming the whole hour. It takes 10 minutes of planting and 10 minutes of harvesting. They even grow while you are logged off. You can be sleeping, outside, at school/work, anything! You buy some ranarr seeds for about 15k, plant and sell the herbs for 6.5-7k each. 3 herbs will more than pay for your seed, and you usually get 5-8. Plant at all four herb patches to increase productivity. You can do the similar thing to snapdragons at a much higher level. Trees- Ever been woodcutting, and everyone else keeps getting all the logs? Well with farming, you can plant your own personal tree. No one else can touch it! Firemaking I really don't know much about this skill. I know there is something to do with shade burning, but that's about it. You should use another guide for this skill. Fishing This can be a great money maker in RuneScape! I already mentioned it with cooking. Now here are the levels to catch the money making fish. Please keep in mind that the higher your level, the faster you catch them. You catch very slow at the minimum level. 40- Lobsters They sell for about 250 each. Raw are sometimes a little more 62- Monkfish They sell for about 350 each. They are a great training fish! 76- Sharks The thing most fishers long to have. These monsters heal 20 each and sell for 900-1000 gp each! Higher level fishermen(women) love these as a money maker. Fletching Ahh, fletching. This skill has made me a few million gp. It is a very popular money maker, and rightfully so. Level 70- Yew Longbows These are my money maker. Here's the basic process. You buy yew logs for 250 each(cheaper if you can find), and bow strings for 150 each. You make bows and sell for 550-600 each on fourms. I personally like to buy yew longs(u)(about 20 gp extra per log) and bow strings to cut the time in half. You can also alch your bows for 768 gp each, you have to buy nature runes first though. Level 85- Magic Longs These are popular among high level players. I personally don't know enough about them to give you advice. Sorry. :? Herblore I personally am not a fan of herblore, but it can make good money. It goes hand in hand with farming, make potions with the herbs you grow. The most popular potions for money are prayer potions(38), super strength(55) and sara brews(81). Magic There are some decent ways to make money with magic. Level 55- High Alchemy This is great used with fletching, smithing, or crafting to get money for you goods. DK's In order to kill the Range king, you need to use magic. Steel Dragons- Magic is popular to kill these, you can get dragon legs or skirt if you're lucky! PKing- Mages can use the ancient magiks and the teleblock spell to get the edge on their opponent. Mining Mining is such a popular skill among lower levels. It is also a great money maker from higher levels! 15- iron This can sell for 100 each, not bad for a low level player 30- coal This can sell for 200 each 85- runite I skipped mith and addy because they aren't very good. But runite is one of the best money makers in the game. Ore can sell for 10-12k each! Talk about money! Prayer Really helps with combat...I can't say too much more Ranged Pking- Rangers can hit fast and hard, making them powerful DK's- One king is magic, which means range is the way to take him out. Runecrafting One of the best makers on RS! It is very popular. Higher runes sell for a lot of money. 44 nats- The most common rune, it is always in high demand. They are usually made via abyss. This can bring in 300k an hour! 55 laws- They are needed for teleport spells. Not in as high demand, but can sell for 350-400 each! 91 nats again- This time you can make double nats! It is very had to get, but worth it if you ever reach it. Skilled runecrafters can make up to 1 million gp and hour with this! Slayer This is a great skill in the game. You can train combat and get money at the same time. If you're not serious into combat, I wouldn't bother with this skill. 85 slayer- I don't know much about slayer, but I know this is the best moeny maker in the game without luck streaks at merchanting, barrows, staking, or pking. You can kill abyssal demons, which drop whips! They can sell for about 2 million each. Smithing This really won't bring in the mills unless you are very high at smithing and can make rune. There is really only one good money maker at lower levels. Level 35- cannonballs A steel bar is about 550 gp. A cannonball is about 180 gp. You make 4 c-balls for every one bar. It turns out to be a nice profit. Thieving This really is a BAD money maker. All I can recommend here are master farmers. You can steal all seeds from these except trees. If you get lucky, you can make a nice little profit. Woodcutting Last, but not least, it's woodcutting. It is a nice money making skill, especially in f2p. Fetchers always want to buy logs. Here are some prices: Level 30-willow These can sell for about 30 gp each. Level 45-maple These are about 100 gp each Level 60-yew These are about 250 each Level 75- magic These are about 1000 each. Well this ends my money making guide. I hope this helps you make the mills. I sure have gotten a lot of money from this guide. My best advice is to pick a skill and stick to it. It will make you a lot of money. Please leave feedback. Thanks for reading! ~ugafan 2009
