  1. You have it all wrong. The compromise will not make the player spend slayer points to buy a task from the master slayer. It will buy the ability to get ice Strykewyrms as a random task - adding it to the list of possible task (much like completing a quest sometimes adds a slayer monster to your list).

I would like to hear what are the better solutions to dealing with RWT... I've heard a lot of "veteran" players claiming there were countless ways to deal with this in another manner and never seen any option being proposed that would have made me think Jagex were wrong. As to the topic, some have already said it, everything you did back in 2004, you can do in 2010 except for the trade limits, old school pking or dueling. Your perception of the game has changed more than the game has changed itself. As for the declining number of players, sure there are less players these days than in 2006-2007, but back then you could find 10-15% being either bots or macros. Yes I pulled that number out of my [wagon],but anyone playing at that time can confirm it was a real problem and would ruin the gameplay of the majority. I still think this game is way better than at any other point since its launch. Then have your opinions, but I know there are others on my side. This forum is for them. And how many times has it been said, even if I am not a game developer, there are people who are paid to figure these things out. And of course Jagex says they think they made the right decision. Have you ever noticed they give typical responses to their players like any brainwashed business? They respond like machines, explaining things in a manner that is clearly not the truth. For example, I might ask "why do you continue to make skills easier?" and they will say "we are not really making them easier you are mislead..." and so on, even though we all know certain skills are becoming easier, or rather less time consuming. If you can't stand having your opinion challenged, then you shouldn't post on an open forum. Once again, you have dodged that question regarding better solutions (note that it was aimed at anyone claiming to have better solutions). As for "brainwashed business"... Welcome to real life and marketing ploy! A great portion of business will lie and make you believe stuff to get your money. This is nothing new and Jagex is not really different than any other company in that regard.
  3. yah cuz spelling has so much to do with intelligence go find something better to do troll It's mostly about perception, someone with bad spelling will look dumb to others. Sorry to burst your bubble. You came here wanting to know what that guy's deal was, I told you.
  4. He probably bought the account, big deal... As for your spelling, that guy wasn't noob, he was just picking on someone not very bright, aka you.

I suggest you log into this CC: obelisk chat Pretty good for finding active obelisks and helping others.
  6. Interesting analysis and I agree with the conclusion that money drives the ranters. If the ice wyrms only had crappy drops, there would be no uproar and no debate.
  7. I don't get it... You claim that when manipulators pick an object (buying out that item? - meaning they are the demand), the supply increase? If you mean that hicking up prices encourages player to skill to get that item to sell it at premium prices is increasing supply, then you are right. But claiming that manipulators are creating the supply, you are wrong, it's the law of supply and demand that is adjusting to the new prices. As for the GE update timing, I have no opinion on that matter. I chose my language very carefully. The statement "supply increases" in economics means that the entire supply curve shifts right. The statement "the quantity supplied increases" in economics means that the supply curve hasn't changed, but the point on the supply curve has changed. Manipulators are increasing the demand (shifting the demand curve right), which in turn moves the (temporary) equilibrium to a higher price. Basically what I said, only with technical terms. Never knew stuff I learned in school and college would translate so smoothly in an online game.

It's probably a conspiracy, because I heard everyone else has gotten 10+ consecultive wyrm task. Welcome to Runescape!
  9. How much did you pay for that account?

  12. @Stonewall How can you "kill" someone at Ice wyrms? Engage combat with a wyrm and move where someone is fighting another so "your" wyrm does a special attack on that player?
  13. Big difference between criticism and whining. Saying "Jagex is stupid they broke RS again omg can't do they anything good" isn't constructive and quite frankly I am tired of hearing it. You THINK YOU CAN DO BETTER? Get to it, I will be eagerly waiting for you to succeed. Maybe you don't like the wording, but my point is with every update now it seems comes with major problems that often have nothing to do with the update. So no, they don't break Runescape, just portions of it, like the GE. And don't do the "if you think you can do better" crap. That's a total cop out. I've payed more than enough into membership with these guys to be allowed the opinion of a consumer. I'm a huge fan of Jagex and will usually defend them and wait for more information before claiming they have screwed up. More often than not, I have clashed with you concerning your outcrys towards Jagex and their update management. I have to say that some (in fact a good portion) of your arguments hold weight. Bugfilled updates are more common now than they used to be 2-3 years ago. 180 degrees and update corrections are more common now. The only thing you and I are still not on the same page is probably the "upgrade year". I thought it was a very good year, but you and I probably don't like the same aspects of the game anyway.
  14. Why? Your reward for beating the fight caves should be to own a fire cape. Why does it have to be the only reward? For years, people needed to complete a long set of quest and start a master quest just to be able to kill dark beasts at 90 slayer. Would you argue that these quest should only give xp reward?
  15. About the last sentence, it would be stupid for anyone that can't get a fire cape to not use the ability to unlock them for ideological values. I expect anyone that can't or won't get a fire cape to use that feature and "pay the price", I just hope that price is appropriate. Some people have suggested insane amounts of points (several thousand) while the current reward system tops at 400 points. I hope Jagex implements an appropriate price. The bracket I suggested seems appropriate enough. On the whole, I've never agreed that much with you, must be something in the water! Sorry to hear about your condition, you're missing on some nice features (GWD mostly, fight caves are a chore... with a nice reward).
  16. Still waiting to see how many points you have to spend to unlock ice wyrms before commenting on the "update". 100 pts: unbalanced ( 250k gpwise in slayer pts) 500-1000 pts: balanced (gpwise 1,25mil to 2,5 mil in slayer pts to unlock) 2,5k-5k pts: broken. (gpwise 6,25mil to 12,5 mil in slayer pts to unlock) I'm personally hoping for 1K pts. Anything under 300 pts would be a slap in the face to fire cape holders.
  17. I surprisingly agree with Me Hate Libes for once. Had this been implemented upon release, no one would have disagreed it was a bad move. If we ignore the whole debate and look at it like it'S only one update, then it's a good update.
  18. This topic is from september and the OP has only posted once since then to bump the topic... I'd say you guys are getting trolled.
  19. Some players like to make money while slaying. I realise that but the OP said they werent happy about the task so i was offering an alternative that whilst losing money you get the task over faster to move on to better monsters Touché, in light of this, my comment is somewhat innapropriate.
  20. Some players like to make money while slaying.
  21. There is a safespot in brimhaven near the mushroom I think... been a while since I ranged them there... Good luck
  22. Getting a balanced character will be more useful when monster hunting. That extra def will help you stay somewhat longer.
  23. This is a funny way to look at it. Except the economy of RS and real-life economy doesn't work the same way. RS economy doesn't reward transformation work. It only reward work time when gathering ressources. Xp in RS is highly regarded, in real life, there's no such thing. Only reputation comes close and even then, having a reputation to be a no-lifer fisherman is not the same... People who sits on huge cash pile actually help keep the prices down. Because they don't link their cash pile to items (they don't boost demand), leaving supply bringing prices down. A growning pile of cash is obtained through various ways: profit from buying/selling (at the expense of the ending buyer), gathering ressources (combat, skilling and grunt work) and swapping items for cash (trading or hi alching).
  24. I don't know what's more [developmentally delayed]ed, Treasure trails ...or taking 7 hours to complete a set of very easy clues? I'll let you be the judge of that. Like some others have said, clues get easier with practice and the rewards can be very unrewarding sometimes.
  25. I'm in agreement with your answer to the first complaint. High prices for these items are established by supply and demand and not by artificial pressure by merchanters/manipulators. As for the statements regarding G.E. creating money, players like Dark Aura are wrong. The G.E. did not create money, the difference between prices bought by the clan/merchanter, and sold price results in more money in the merchanters' pockets at the "expense" of the buyer. As for screwing the economy, it's mostly a matter of opinion and definition of screwing. If by screwing you mean unbalancing the economy by pressuring it unnaturally, then yes, manipulators are screwing the economy. @ Dark Aura, if everyone were to stop using the G.E., price would not rise, neither would they fall. If everyone stop selling at the G.E. and offers for buying are still placed, then yes, prices would ultimately rise.
