Well Known RWT'rs banned.
I think this is the only way to stop this. I'm looking forward to Jagex's attempts on preventing all this RWT'ing. I think they'll most likely find a way which will affect not only the RWT'ers, but the whole community, then the whole community will be pissed off and blame Jagex rather than the Greedy dicers/RWT'ers whose fault it is that Jagex is doing such updates to the game.

It's honestly not like it would be hard for people to sell accounts. Also a lot of those mule accounts those gamblers had were addressed. What that player meant as a throwaway account is probably some account with less-that-dedicated time spend on it like when I make a pure, DIY or skiller account when I have my max account. Those accounts aren't typically dedicated. Jagex has made efforts to staunch the gambling efforts, but there are too many ways to fake authenticity despite their efforts.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
What seems to be awkward about beta is that a lot of the passive abilities of items are being locked out by their tier system. I think abilities are great, but I think having items with passive boosts or abilities makes for a great game addition.

Kind of sad that now my dominion gloves are currently useless in beta.

You people need to use real world thinking. All I see is absolute and all or nothing thoughts on the bots and banning. Bots are programs, very clever programs, build around the game. The effort in recognizing the most harmful bots and taking appropriate action is immense because they can mimic what looks like a real player and finding out what bot a player was using is virtually impossible Truthfully I see this discussion flaring up soon. I also foresee the aforementioned players being labeled dim-witted, ill-informed or plain ignorant to the issue. This all happening because someone would rather fork the blame on jagex, which is the traditional way of handling issues with the game. They would rather not completely understand the scope of the issue. Instead they would rather blow hot air and express their indignation because they feel all knowing with a pure righteousness. By the way to make this topic go by much more interestingly take the time and really think about the scope of the issue and how far it spans. Think about what type of players are botters. Why they decided to bot. What types of bots they use. also think about other aspects of game play. Does the player leave the bot or do the babysit it. Often I've seen that term used in botting communities for players testing out early released bots. Also think about customer relations and the delicate interaction between customer and business. The business has to be very sure of itself that a player is botting. What gives the player away? What are the possible outcomes from banning an innocent player when they feel fully sure they are guilty? Will that player return on the wrong path with a new character, go on the right path and learn or leave completely? How pervasive is the botting and scripting communities? From what I know there are tons of people who learn how to script these bots. The may come out with a rough program, but the thing with programming is it is art. You don't usually just make something and it's done. These guys spend a lot of time tweaking, adding in things, or ever reengineering the script to work with different updates. My point being is the scope of the issue is large... Maybe not grand, but definitely large. If you want to boil it down so much as to huff and puff and tout that it's all jagex fault because they're lazy I'll gladly call you a simple minded idiot. There is a lot of effort and bases to cover when handling bots and the makers. As a player I can see how you'd think it's as easy as calling someone out. You report the to jagex. Then as if magic they are automatically banned, they are genetically banned from creating another account. In your mind you might imagine jagex has some how found a way to collect player DNA to add to a blacklist of people who cheat.

Runescape page and game not loading
Eh something funky is up. Lately I've been having to reenter the address for the site just to reload it. If I try to reload regularly it doesn't go.

I actually found all the barrows brothers pretty easy just meleeing except I didn't do akristae because I'm a lazy ass. I would imagine it wouldn't be nearly as bad as people make it seem if you just used your basic abilities. I feel the abilities over basic do more damage, but in most cases you could manage just from basics alone.

I broke down and bought 115 dungeoneering. Rest of the tokens got me 15% to 116. I kept doing calculations and figured I'm not going to get a full level if I saved tokens so I said screw it I'm just going to use the tokens every time I level from now on because its just letting me down. Should get within 3m xp of 116 by friday night.

Yeah, but in my grand scheme it kinda shit on me :P. And it just took me to close out the browser and reload things. Funny how these things work...

People whine about Jagex all the time when its completely unnecessary. Welcome to Runescape.

Anyone having these issues right now? Kind of irritating especially since last night a group of people decided to rattle the dungeoneering community and split them between w67 and w114. Ugh...

Everyone is waiting on the next elf quest and then after that probably either the next morytania or rise of zaros. Personally I can't wait for the next elf quest and rise of zaros because I got a big hunch its going to be the platform for the return of the gods quest line.

It's not a huge disadvantage having a huge vessel. The way their AI is set up is that even if it recognizes a ht it doesn't always keep going I that general area. On the first game for instance I had won because the AI got 2/4 hits on my last ship, but for some reason started randomly hunting in other areas including around where it had hit before.

Well there is your reference to Acheron. I guess its where the penguins base is located and will be the platform for the next quest... Whenever that comes out. Maybe we'll see some mammoths. Any news on the side rewards? I think I'm going to troll the RSOF boards and see what I can find.

New skill at the end of 2013
Wanna bet? Seriously though, do you honestly believe that the game will be closed by 2014? From, let's say 500k members to closed in two years? I don't think people realise that the only thing they NEED membership money for is server costs. Only when the amount of players gets so incredibly low that they can't afford them will the game be anywhere near closing down. Then how do they pay employees? True... I think he was on the thought of when a game is going under and it becomes more of a maintenance of just keeping it up and running rather than improving and updating it as well.

Future Update Discussions
While on break I got thinking about how jagex incorporates puns and references to history, culture and religion. What dawned on me was our fiendishly hard to spy penguin might not use an outfit as you might think. What if our penguin was in a mini-submarine that traveled the seas and rivers. I would imagine what would make it so fiendish to spot is it only "surfaces" every couple minutes. When it doesn't surface all you would see is a para scope roaming around with a silhouette much like the strykewyrms. So I would imagine our penguin appearing along the river lum, wizards tower shore, or any other water environment.

Did my third combat beta event and pest control is insanely easy. So far I've attended them all. 220k for dung to pass attack for highest experience. I had my first kal'ger on a large c6... Ended on 7 deaths, but I ragequit because I don't think thats how I should legitimately end a high warp floor. I am really hoping to hit 115 by monday night because I have another four days off and plan on using them to get 116 dung by friday.

Did today's SoF spins to win 100 water balloons, a pendant of fletching and a small runecrafting lamp. Pretty much just semientertaining just for my bank later after I get comp. Can't be forced to use the pendant yet. Dung upgate: All C1's and 4 abandoned left with over 5m xp to 115. On an entirely different note, which I've kept pretty much to myself as far as these boards go... I am about 600k from dung passing attak for most xp. Saddening, but it must be done.

Imbuing would be nice. They could add their own twist to it so you could imbue potions to magically enhance them or imbue gears similar to how rings are. On another note crafting does need some attention... It's been an abomination to see so many other MMOs have craft able magic gear up the butt yet we can't craft mystic or have much of any type of great cloth gear or accessory to craft. I am prepared to see people call me out on it, but even then I feel crafting should be on par with smithing and ideal it is not.
