Evolution of PVP combat!
This is what I nailed down so far. There is bound to be tons of revision and tweaking. [hide] [/hide]

I think barring everything but basics in PVP sounds interesting.

Missing, Presumed Death
I'm suprised no one has simply just registered Brassica Prime as their desire for comedy in the whole seriousness of the 6th age. I mean come on jagex always has some kind of comedic slip in everything they do.

I personally think all gear should be degradeable. The smithing skill revamp could even support and allow players to a system with a sliding scale for repair costs. Based on smithing levels and your armour teir the amount of cash thats required to repair armour would fluxuate. Even better... They could also add repair scraps to many of the monsters. You could aso have some of the higher tiered armours require bleached leather (armadyl), searing cloth (subjugation), studded leather (bandos) to repair them. I personally might flesh out a whole concept and skill guide on something like this. I quite like seeing a sliding scale repair system using smithing.

I want that regent override so bad... I am tempted to buy bonds to obtain RC for it. What's the GE bond price?

Honestly prestige isn't bad. But I think making a high scores with it implemented as a feature is what makes it bad. I think prestige should come, but yearly high scores, similarly to seasonal high scores should be brought in.

How is the game going to break and you get more xp than possible with all 99s? Sure, there will be exploits discovered that let you get xp fast at X level than a brand new account, but at the end of the day the fastest way to level is going to be giving Squeell some spins... so who cares? Why do people keep bringing up spins Do you honestly expect a lot of people to buy a ton of xp? Because people think that just because its possible its going to happen. Then because it happens then it means that everyone is going to do it. But that is comparable to saying just because everyone has money that they are going to go out and imediately buy a fancy new car. It just doesn't work that way...

Behind the Scenes - October 2013
For some reason I think this might be a reference to a minor update. I vaguely remember some discussing of reworking a good portion of the transport system. I think in a past BTS vid, podcast or AMAA jagex mods expressed their distaste for most of the alternative transport methods in particular the charter ships and their usefulness. So maybe this little message about shores is referencing the charter ships plus some.

............that's what she said. I think connecting MPD and PoP v2 is a huge stretch. Lmao nice one :p No, no you misunderstood me I think. At the end of every update BTS we get a slip of the next scheduled update and that's what we got. The camera was panning across the waters to the east of daemonhiem stopping at the fremennik faery boat. The the announcer said "coming to the shores near you" or something like that.

Has anyone given any thought about what they meant when they said "coming to the shores near you" with the MPD BTS video? All I could think was POP 2.0, but I am skeptical that it would come so early and so fast.

Honestly I think the biggest issue with pking is gear loss. I mean it's not that there shouldn't be "trophies" or "loot" from kills. I still hold fast into the idea of some type of gear durability hit. What do you think of jagex adding items to the RDT to repair high end gear? Maybe players could use existing metal bars to repair same tier items for the lower levels. Higher end gear could be replaced with gear specific drops. Dragon could use dragon lumps, shards, etc. armour like armadyl, bandos and subjugation could have leather straps, bolted plates and searing cloth. They could even make it somewhat dynamic by adding several different items to repair a set. For example repairing subjugate robes might take one bolt of searing cloth, one roll of blackened thread and binding energy. These are just ideas for the concept though... Pkers could make a turnaround on these items by getting the from kills and reselling.

You are forgetting: - DIYers who hit the 99 milestone - End game all-around players (like me) - Players who are passionate and love training particular one skill. Nice generalization though. SUOMI like players fit into that passionate player category. They love going for the sake of total xp... In this case they will just have to be mindful of prestiging to maximize their overall prestige rank.

Are you dragonlordjl reborn? OT: Prestiging skills won't have any significant gameplay advantages, right? They mentioned there might be some "perks". I think as far as taking so much time in a skill I think having a slight perk such as a passive 5% increase in xp or chance to gather/save materials would suffice. Prestige perks would probably be much like how auras are and how they were viewed with the loyalty system. The longer you are committed the better the aura you could purchase with points. The more you prestige in a skill the more significant the perk gets.

Well hopefully they have the system that will allow players to do a whole-sale like thing with prestige. For example I have 65m attack experience. Once the update goes live it will let me prestige attack the first time (13m xp total), a second time (39m xp total) and then i will be stuck working from level 1 to get my third prestige despite having 26m xp more. Or they could make it retroactive and let us apply the xp immediately and it would stop me somewhere around level 97 with a prestige of two.

Which is a god send to the economy really.Isn't bronze/iron/steel already expensive enough as it is?How do you know that dg will prestige at 200m xp? Also the fact that there is so much bronze/iron/steel being shuffled around en mass that it might make it a much more merchantable item to flip. I don't foresee any issues and something like this coming might make shortcut items much more interesting. A lot of post-prestige prep will also come into play as well. Imagine when this update ones live and players who want to prestige will be all mining or buying their supplies to move from 1-80 or so as fast as possible. This would cause a great demand are "stir the pot" that has been sitting idle for far too long.

I was going to say the same thing but once (each way) per day. I would say turning it on should always be free, but maybe restoring your stats should be free once every day or every few days. Actually I think something like gaining one reset a day and being able to bank them up to say ten would be a much better idea.
-
Dev Blog - Prestige
I was also thinking t wouldn't be a bad idea to say have a daily limit of free resets. I think 5 would be good.

I would prestige, but not if I would face a payout for wanting to switch back to do content that just came out.

No cap on prestige except human mortality How do you know?
-
Dev Blog - Prestige
Prestige will probably cap at a certain number like maybe 10? Hopefully there is a system to pull how much xp players already have when this goes live. I would hate to see people with 200m stats lose xp to use on it.

I suggested and talked about a prestige system a long while ago. This is a good update and there is nothing wrong with it. Heck this would breath life into the lesser areas that players feel they shouldn't have to train at. I'm sorry but everyone who feels its a bad update is probably based off of the glaringly obvious characteristic that you might have to pay to turn it off. That part I understand because at that point you shouldn't have to when new content comes out and you way to play it.

I've bee doing option 2 since halfway to 91 I think. I've noticed you get a lot more inc and lum though for some reason. I think energy comes more frequent that memories wen you are low I the tier. You are better off buying the low tier energies because they offer less experience I think. Me personally I plan on buying most later after 99 or even 15m xp. I figure at most you would get 3k energy an hour. Doing QBD runs you would average 3.5m go an hour. With inc and lums averaging 200 per energy. If you were using that cash to buy them it would equal getting 17.5k energy an hour.
