  1. lol besides kingduffy and jd they are all young ;p So how old does that make you? I suspect most of the top (maxed) players are probably at least university students. For one thing, it takes several years to get maxed. im young too lol i meant most are 18-24 years old thier are some maxed players that maxed at 14 or 15 but just maxing isnt as timeconsuming as previous but yea 18-24 is university/college age but don't necessarily need to be in university or college older than that they either have a job where they multitask or quit highschool is harder to scape in cuz at school all day long
  2. i have all nonbuyables banked a hatchet pickaxe fishing rod and my character has feet =)
  3. jdelacroix changed his cuz of a joke on this forum and richard changed his as a joke...paperbag was supposed to be buyableking lol
  4. no imaget 200m all skills first!! i got secret military no sleep technology goodfight suomi!
  5. it is around 400k per hour zmi is around 300k profit per hour and twice of the xp from graahking haha what a fail -.- in the past rc was the best cash making methods (of skilling) and was around 1,5m-2m (when graahk was new) thank you Runescape botscape ^^^ glad i exploited my 91 rc when it was profitable which it hasnt for like 2 years?
  6. People have always had long periods of bad luck. Suomi said he went 40 hours without an effigy. But 3 effigies in an hour is not unheard of. I once got 2 effigies 1 minute apart. Of course we can't be sure that it isnt a nerf. One of the people that told me said it was in an update message, I checked and I didn't see anything. lol then you were getting trolled they dont really say when they nerfed drops :P
  7. whatabout fans of buyablequeen ^.^
  8. weekly update runescape canceled
  9. buyablequeen is a total pro and green098 is noob only buyableking tezz drumgun andkingduffy left young maxed players are mostly in early highschool ect. oh also some worlds have longer tics than others and is ingame time based on tics or real time hmmmmmmm
  10. To be honest I wonder about the demographics of maxed players in general, i.e. what percentage are male/female and what age. It'd be good if someone could make a thread like that on the maxed forums or something. 20 Female -but im outside the demographic for sure... but in general most are 17-23 year old male and females age 30+ my sister is noob at rs and my brother is even noobier =(
  11. Considering the condition of F2P... I'd say it's difficult. But this game isn't really a game until you hit P2P. Someone expressed the same frustrations on the help forums too - the only valid methods of moneymaking that is more than 500k an hour is basically through end-game stuff and boss hunting. Skillers are basically menial laborers rather than the tradesmen Jagex (may) have originally envisioned. While I don't personally disagree with the maxed-out-folks being able to make quick money, and I don't think there's anything wrong with it in itself, I can understand why some folks think that the entry barrier is a bit too high. Below contain mostly incoherent personal reflections. Many Java-based browser games (mostly defunct now) towards the early 2000s had remarkably complex systems. They were in turn squished by the "modern" MMOs in their heyday - when grind and prestige mattered most. L2 is one of the most successful examples of these player-driven MMOs with the entire end-game completely determined by player politics and server trends. (And I didn't mean to bash Puzzle Pirates, but I see the kids I babysit play that quite frequently...) yea i dont say all college students hate runescape I like it but then again i tend to enjoy the more boring games hehe.
  12. Modern players tend to be spoiled in such ways. Gaming moved from the paradigm of playing for the sake of playing to playing for the sake of accomplishment. This is all fine and good in itself, but for Runescape, the idea of community is unfortunately, a recent one. It's an MMO that for some reason, only put in guilds something like last year. I used to write as a freelance writer for a few gaming websites including MMORPG.com. MMO trends and statistics were interesting to me, once. :) The stuff below is entirely personal opinion supported by a few observations. I have to say that is correct college students have a bit more money to play and can buy pc/console games/microtransactions/higher game subs though cost is still a factor ...and i remember in 2008 thinking i wouldnt recommend scape to a friend(i started in 2006) I definately would not now just because of the time it takes to become a high lvl character....And time is a more significant factor the older someone is...kinda depressing that 8-13 year old thing :( but in general probably I saw lots of people playing in highschool (mainly noobs ingame but irrelevant) but the general hs population just saw it as a game thier brother played or used to play and this was 2008-2009 the older scape gets the lower its reputation go. Also WOW isnt seen as the best thing ever like it used to but yea it would still get people.
  13. Well people see Runescape as out of date....also really its only good for those that are really into it there better games out there also I think RS has a reallllllll required time limit for skill levels......I mean if you want to feel like your making progress (constant experience /day).......I'll log in to do quest(w00 comp cape)/check prices on some ge items but really not interested in anything else for now... I think generally people want games that are interactive and actiony and don't require months-years to get to the action Its possible to digitally download pc games from game-stop or other sites to old ones are like 10 bucks some are 20 I would say rs isnt a sufficient brain distractor- simulation that you need after or before studying......And why try and afk runescape when you can just do schoolwork more efficiently and then have interactivity in another game the multiplayer aspect of scape is good if you find a few friends and have been playing scape throughout highschool but its not great if you start a new character.....most of my friends have moved on I know this post sounds like im bashing scape but from a game-design perspective it gets laughed at and really except for a few people that really enjoy training agility, fishing, ect other more casual games or more strategy games beat it...
  14. unbuyableking of the noobs =D I vote that Suomi change his name to "Unbuyableking" to confuse noobs that look at the highscores No. He'd have no way to change his name back. The game saves the last name you were so people can't steal it while you try out another name. You can't put double gaps in your name anymore think he could still change back it wouldnt allow any other variation of the name except his original cuz for me it wont let me have any name with bot in it but will let me have my original name if i want (but i dont lol)
  15. naw u gotta keep the comp cape but yea when you stop playing purely to grind skills its a more enjoyable expirience also more time x[)
  16. i quit a few times one when i majorly gave away all my items but i kept a cashpile...lol hmm i came back to p2p after 2 months then members ran out again so i was like "hmm i havent played scape in awhile" then i came back again Now i only play for updates i dont see a point in officially quitting unless you cant control your time played( i was a major addict most of my scape time but now im not...) if i become a major addict again then i wont renew members again or will cancel if its recurring. Tho i am a major addict to conspiracy forums and always looking for cheap 9.99 pc games :P
