  1. A few things would have to be ironed out first but I'm all for it, at least for melee. The first thing that I noticed when rs2 came out was pking was totally trashed (and the dozens of threads on this forum at the time meant most peopled concurred). It's at least 3 times as difficult to kill someone now than it was before.
  2. Wow nice find. It's good to see runescape finally getting the attention it deserves; its player count is in the millions, Jagex makes huge revenue, and its a very competitive alternative to over-priced games like WoW. Hopefully this will make other MMO players take note of how serious runescape is, and others how wide the video game audience has grown.
  3. Thanks, anyone else?
  4. Does protect against magic lessen the chance of a successful entangle? Or is it just the damage that's lessened?
  5. It just took the place of an hp level; with sufficiently high skills it won't even matter. Also later on you may even want to raise your def to 20 anyway for full mystics. I wouldn't worry about it, there are much better pkers than you with "random" def levels and they do fine.
  6. Pretty good guide; it doesn't include a comprehensive guide that covers everything, but it does include the more interesting points along with some clear pictures and maps. I would recommend fleshing it out with small details like spawns of interest in the wilderness, and even possibly the monster drops themselves. Nice job on the guide, 8/10.
  7. Why did this month old guide get bumped up again :? You're telling people to wear full rune when meleeing, full dragonhide when ranging and wizard robes when maging....name someone who doesn't know this? Should we use a pickaxe when mining and an axe when woodcutting too? Like I said before, 1/10.
  8. I'm guessing you got a lucky rune medium drop and can't find a way to tell anyone. Oh well. You said yourself lessers take 2-3 tuna off each time; that's 20-30 hp. In comparison you can kill 3 flesh crawlers for a total of 75hp (the same as a lesser demon) and lose an average of 1hp with the stats and equipment you've given. You judge which one is more efficient. And I'm guessing the other reason you're so excited about lessers is their good drops; you can earn more money by training any non combat skill per time given. Melee and lessers just don't mix, sorry.
  9. Thanks, I'd still like some elaboration on the first 2 though, I've been doing them for quite some time
  10. Here are just some questions I've been wondering about: 1) In the stronghold of security you can double click the door so that you don't have to answer the question to pass through the door - is this bug abuse? 2) Often when ranging, swarms appear but they can't attack you because you are on a safespot, so they stay around for 20 minutes or so - is this bug abuse? 3) What does ftw stand for? 4) What does Pl0x mean? I appreciate your answering these questions.
  11. 9/10, very good guide. I would recommend just providing the top 1 or 2 safespots however because a lot of them aren't really that good and require a lot of shifting around. There are safespots out there in which you never have to move to hit anyone unless you go and pick up the loot or arrows. Also, the lesser demon in wizard's tower is highly impractical for training because there's usually many other trainers there so you'll only get a fraction of the full xp of a lesser; and then after it dies you have to stand idly for a minute before it respawns again; the other lesser locations have multiple lessers so you can keep attacking even after you finish one. The wilderness lessers are also just VERY impractical to train with because you're basically risking a lot of stuff when there are just as good places in the non-wilderness. I think as a guide to ranging lessers in f2p you should provide only the best advice and not even bother to mention the useless ones (just like fishing guides will never tell you to bait herring on karamja for xp). Yeah but otherwise very good guide.
  12. Fire bolt gives a better balance between speed, magic xp and hp xp Your equipment's just going to be magic hat, magic robes, fire staff and amulet of magic Chaos runes almost never go less than 150gp each so offer a bit lower i guess but they'll usually say "150gp firm" or something. 54k = 8.1mil though so...zounds Airs are a bit looser, they usually go around 15-20gp but you may get lucky and get them for 10. The principle is, never buy beyond 20gp each. If you have some spare time or something between buying the airs you could always stick around at Aubury's to buy them there, they're about 6gp to a point. I would recommend training at stronghold of security - flesh crawlers on level 2. They are agressive, have 25hp and have a max hit of...1 damage. A full inventory of lobsters would probably last you a day with that defense. Otherwise you can try the lesser demons on crandor or karamja (but know the safespots first) for loot. Uh good luck
  13. Also of note this method is neither good for combat xp, fishing/cooking xp or cash because: Combat xp: Much faster to train on smaller and more abundant enemies, also using less food Fishing/Cooking xp: Much faster to powerfish and powercook because it saves the time from running around, fishing hard fish like lobsters and writing "OMG FIRE PLZX" for 3 minutes every load. Cash: Training any skill will get you more money per hour than lesser demons (unless you're somehow able to get a rune medium every 5 minutes) So yeah, good enough guide for what it is but the training method itself is bad.
  14. Generally the lesser demons on crandor are the best for f2p, fast and easy xp, good drops, and very practical for picking up arrows (instead of walking a great distance, walking back and then reposition yourself, all you have to do is walk like 1 square to pick up the drop). If it gets too lonely there you can also try moss giants in varrock sewers or crandor isle. Arrows hm well the a general rule of thumb is, you should be able to pick up half the amount of arrows you spent, so for example if you shot 1000 arrows, continously picking up will yield 500 of those 1000 arrows that you shot, so potentially with only 1000 arrows alone: 1000 + 500 + 250 + 125 etc. should yield about 2000 shots for your 1000 arrows. So basically by picking up and continuously reusing you can use twice as many arrows as are in your inventory. I wouldn't recommend just picking single arrows unless they're addy/mith. As for the number of arrows I agree with goobore, around 70,000 bronze probably without picking up, 35000 with. If you want faster xp obviously mith and addy are the way to go (and if you have any of those available you should probably use the first so that you're damage will stay even), but if money's an issue try just buying iron and steel from the shops - I don't like bronze so much simply because it's soooo weak.
  15. How about don't give someone 200k for nothing? Kthxbye
  16. ^Agreed. Btw blacksimon how do you get incorrectly banned for macroing, I thought RS used a foolproof system of detecting it?
  17. Ankou's in stronghold of security, and lesser demons on crandor. The catabalons in stronghold of security and the moss giants on crandor are also pretty good. You'll have to find a safespot guide or try to figure it out though because it's too hard to explain
  18. Is it against the rules to get a swarm, and then go into a region where the swarm can't get you (because you're in a safespot) and continue training? The swarm will still be present because you aren't far away enough for it to dissappear, but it can't attack you ever. This happens a lot when i'm ranging so I was curious.
  19. I was just testing rune dagger, short sword and scimitar on guards and they're all equal speed (because the damages never converged - they would if they were different speeds). I thought runescape 2 balanced out the weapons by making stronger weapons slower and weaker weapons faster, but all of these lower level weapons seem to be all the equal speed with different strengths. Obviously for training purposes everyone would use the scimmy then right? For a second I thought maybe dagger would be equally good as scimitar since it would be faster and just a bit weaker but apparently, it's not faster at all. Does anyone think rs should change so different combat styles can get different weapons instead of it just being scimitar and 2h all of the time?
  20. It doesn't really matter to me how long it takes to get activated just as long as it's a reasonable time (< week) and it does, and as long as I don't get any mail sent back, ever. So you guys are saying paybycash should work eh?
  21. Hm, how about cash or money order? If I send through this will they send me back any sort of bill or receipt confirming it, or maybe a monthly note etc?
  22. I was wondering if there's any sort of payment method that: a) Doesn't involve credit or debit cards, or Paypal etc. B) I can preferably pay through cash, money order or some sort of other non (a) transaction c) Will not send any sort of physical bill or papers to my residence upon subscription, or monthly (even on telephone bills etc.), ever. I checked the Runescape website and couldn't find any help in their Faq's so if anyone here can answer it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  23. Note - You don't "have" to have completed dragon slayer, you just have to have started it and gone through the false wall at least once.
  24. I thought macroing is when you use an outside program to introduce advantages not allowed in the game...I don't see how this is using an outside program, and you're not high alching more or even faster. It's just less strenuous this way. If this were considered macroing then Jagex should ban certain body positions while playing Runescape too.
  25. K honestly no one cares if this is your first guide, it doesn't even reach the bare minimum for a guide, not only lacking tons of information, but also just providing WRONG information. Imagine if you read a someone's first mining guide and it just said: "You need a pickaxe to mine. There are different ores. Some are harder to mine. To get to lvl 99 you should mine clay with bronze pick it's the best." This is the equivalent pking guide, it's absolutely, hands-down terrible in every way. I'm sorry, we can't forgive you for that, scrap it and maybe try it again after doing your research.
