  1. Hunter is NOT awfully easy to raise. First of all, you have to deal with idiots who try to turf you out of where you're training because they can't be bothered to spend 5 minutes (15 at most) to find an empty world. It is incredibly annoying to have some tool come along and disrupt your training when there are plenty of other worlds. Secondly, it's not like most other skills that are click and wait until the inventory is done. It requires patience and a lot more attention than most other skills - if you're lucky, you'll get a 30 second reprieve every hour or so. Hunter is nowhere near as easy as some of the other skills. And you can't buy it either.
  2. While I was hunting, the only real problem I had was with a level 3 skiller. He'd try and lay his traps where I'd lain mine. Luckily, though, he was mostly unsuccessful. If you're not already using the spot to the far west, you should use it. It's usually not as crowded as the other main spot. With a bit of endurance you'll be able to find an empty world. Otherwise you might have to use one of the worse spots. Paw Claw's idea is a good one, you should definitely try it. Otherwise the best you can hope for is that they'll leave when you ask.
  3. Wow, people being idiots saying "You knew the requirements so it's your fault trying to do it without having them." Read the dang post! He's not ranting about how he can't do it, you morons! He's ranting about how he's getting told by the messenger that he can do the quest, when he obviously can't! And he knew that the quest had a 56 agility requirement. So, in short, he's ranting about how he didn't have the sense to NOT start the quest, when he knew he couldn't.
  4. Yes, because having an opinion different to yours means I'm a Jagex puppet  I've also played since 2002. Can you provide evidence to suggest it has gone downhill? Or can you only sit there a bleat about "Jagex Puppets"?
  5. So would you rather they churn out skill after useless skill just to combat the problem of more people getting all 99's? Or aren't you aware that as time goes by people raise their skills? I would also like to see your proof of the economy "going through the roof" So you complain about f2p, then back it up with member updates? Sure, they can go from 40 to 126 in a few weeks, if they don't plan on eating, sleeping or going to the toilet. Even with PC it takes a couple of months; whilst this may not be desirable, Jagex have tried to combat the problem with their PC update - if they removed it completely, can you imagine the rants and the riots? Like I said before, as time goes on, people raise their skills - it's natural. Or do you just want to make it impossible for anyone to get 99? X-Options may have made these activities easier, but certainly not faster - there were numerous rants about the string-x update in particular. If anything, it's slowed their moneymaking (I assume you are talking about fletching, as cooking is a loss). Jagex manages to pull out quality updates most of the time, and for one a week that's damned good. Quests still have a purpose - setting up new storylines and continuing old ones, access to new items, rewards, etc. Oh noes, f2p received an update, it's the end of the world . You know, it's actually possible to not go to the party room, hard as that may be to comprehend. Jagex has to balance the integrity of the system with the wants of the players - every time a good item comes out that is freely available to everyone, some [bleep] thinks the new item is too common or some other nonsense. So Jagex made high level rewards untradeable, to protect the integrity of the system. They already tried to rectify this problem with the barrelchest anchor, I think, as instead of the anchor you get ~200k (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Yep, the new updates have been specifically for the inexperienced kids. Like the Godwars dungeon, any old kid can be really successful in there. And how is striving towards a certain level any different than wanting to "become the best, richest player there is?". Parents can't be watching their kids all the time when they're on the computer. They may have other duties, e.g. cooking, cleaning, etc. - and the parents should be able to trust their kids on the computer. Yes, you do seem like an old fellow who gripes (for the sake of griping). Can you suggest a way for Jagex to enforce the age limit? Whilst it's not entirely successful, it may act as a deterrent to less adventurous children. If they don't listen to the NPC's on Tutorial Island, they're more likely to just give up because they can't figure it out. Home teleport - great idea, easy and convenient if you get lost or need a teleport. PC - a fun minigame, that's not quick levelling anymore. Construction - this has been long awaited since classic, so how can it be an example of Jagex running out of ideas? Or do you merely hate progress? RuneScape has grown and boomed in the past two years, and if I was Andrew Gower, I'd be damned proud of my game.
  6. AFI blink 182 Linkin Park Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Simple Plan At the moment my playlist is all AFI.
  7. Viewer discretion is advised. If you are offended by certain dangly bits, then this video is not for you. [hide] [/hide] EDIT: Link fixed, watch it quick!
  8. Hunter is nowhere near the easiest 99 - plenty of people are going for 99 in it is because it is one of the few skills that can make you money at a decent XP rate. Plus it's a relatively new skill, meaning there's more incentive to it than to the older skills, plus many people see it as an "honourable" (for want of a better word) 99. Fletching - AFK-able, good XP rate (~70k/h), able to make a profit (although for fast, consistent XP you'll most likely run at a loss) Cooking - AFK-able, very fast XP (~100-200k/h I'm not entirely sure), can break even, or can cost ~5M. I'm only listing those two because other skills require either vast amounts of money, an attention span greater than the average players, extremely slow XP, etc.
  9. If they consider their terms of use a contract then it would be contact violation. And it could be theft of intellectual property as they are selling Jagex's items without permission.
  10. While it may be against the law, the law does take into consideration the circumstances surrounding the crime - say an upper class man shoplifted only because of the thrill he got from doing it, and a poor man shoplifted to feed his starving family - whilst both broke the law, it is likely that the poor man would receive a more lenient punishment than the upper class man. Crimes don't always fit into clear cut laws, there have to be exceptions in the pursuit of justice, so don't think too harshly of the gold farmers.
  11. Then we must break free from Earth, and colonise the moon! Oh, and New Zealand can come too. Reading this makes me oddly glad that I used to go to a school where getting slapped and pinched on the arse was a regular occurrence. Although this news report just sounds like a few isolated incidents, I seriously doubt whether many more schools will implement this.
  12. One time I was at a friends house, we were playing handball in his driveway. Then this guy turns up in an old sports car, rolls down his window and tells us to get in the car. We then ran inside and told my friends dad about the guy, and he didn't believe us at first, but we managed to convince him. By the time we got back outside, he was gone.
  13. So I suppose Jagex have woven a tapestry of deceit and are feeding us hamburgers full of lies? Jagex continually update and support this game, despite all the abuse hurled at them by the more vocal players. Like Locutus said, businesses grow. So when you were on the Jagex homepage, did you see their "Giving Back" page? Or did you somehow miss that page? If Jagex were entirely profit driven, I doubt they would donate 200 thousand pounds to Charity, and I doubt they would spend money to help minimise their impact on the environment. You see one of those every now and then and you immediately assume that's the case for most of them. I personally see one of those every few months at most, but a few who got through the cracks are not indicative of the whole. Hunter was a great skill in my opinion; if you don't like it, move on. Jagex can't please all of the people all of the time. I'm also curious as to how it is so similar to Slayer, so please enlighten me. What would you do if you had the chance to design a holiday event? Some Rambo mission where you blow up the Grim Reaper for no apparent reason, during which you manage to woo his girlfriend and with plenty of blood and guts? They're just for fun; if you don't enjoy them, go and do something you will enjoy. Just because you get the same (or similar) replies to your messages to Jagex does not mean they are reviewed and replied to by a computer; they may use pre written messages to save time on the vast amount of reports and queries they receive daily. So you think it's better to have a sheltered existence? You get hurt, you learn. If something bad happens, you dust yourself off and get back up. It's good to get hurt every now and then, otherwise you'll never be able to handle the real world, let alone all those scammers and whatnot on RuneScape. I'd like to know which polls you think are ridiculous; the only one I can think of is the 'How well do you know RuneScape" quiz done recently. Jagex can't please every single player with every single update. So if it's not your cup of tea, move on. I find the new interfaces easier to use than the old ones. Jagex asking if graphics are a main concern tells them if they should update the graphics. The polls are a good way for Jagex to find out what areas of RuneScape the players want updated.
  14. Remember, RuneScape was F2P for an entire year before they added Membership benefits. If it was just "sustaining" F2P, they wouldn't last a single month on website maintenance or employee salaries. From what I've heard, at the time RuneScape was their job. So the game grew, they needed more servers, more employees and more capital to keep the game running - money that the advertising could not supply. Plus their living expenses. The customers. Without us, they'd be out of jobs. So, in the end, it is really us who are in charge. You are not in the position to be able to state what one person is in ANYTHING for. Only one person can, and that is the person in question. Customers are in charge, but do NOT - I repeat NOT have mind reading capabilities. No, we don't have mind reading capabilities. We do, however, have the ability to question Jagex, to speculate. Blindly following and accepting what anyone says is extremely stupid.
  15. That does not automatically make anyone who makes reference to "ku klux" a racist by extension, nor does it make their comments racist. What if someone slams the KKK in a newspaper, does that mean that they are making racist comments? I never said that it made you racist, but if you look at the runescape rules: This includes (but is not limited to): discussion of recreational drugs, sexually explicit language, solicitation, racism or other prejudice, threatening, blackmail and swearing. It's simply a matter of common sense - try not to say anything that someone might find offensive. Ok, so you didn't say that it was racist, but others were, and my point stands that his comments were not racist, merely in reference to a racist organisation.
  16. If anyone tried this Jagex might ban him or her on a trumped up charge to get rid of the last cracker. Then, they would probably do it themselves on the other rares to finally get rid of them. Hell, it's what I would do. If you ever do try this, don't set foot it Falador Park W2; the merchants will kill you :ohnoes:
  17. That does not automatically make anyone who makes reference to "ku klux" a racist by extension, nor does it make their comments racist. What if someone slams the KKK in a newspaper, does that mean that they are making racist comments?
  18. BLACK. Are you going to call me racist because I said black? Please, tell me, what's racist about this? Whilst I don't agree with the first offence, you deserved the second one. Even mentioning the "KKK" or "Klu Klux Klan" is against the rules. Very offensive to some people, and it's not something that seems realivent to talk about in a game such as Runescape. I'm not going to debate whether mentioning it is offensive or not (although personally I believe the context is more important than the words). I was saying that it wasn't racist to say 'ku klux'. A lot of conversations in RuneScape aren't relevant to the gameplay; should we outlaw these conversations just because they aren't discussing something game related?
  19. BLACK. Are you going to call me racist because I said black? Please, tell me, what's racist about this? Whilst I don't agree with the first offence, you deserved the second one.
  20. Even though I'd say Lawful-Good, I'm not entirely lawful; I wouldn't mind anyone breaking minor rules/laws but I would mind if they broke the major ones.
  21. Oh wow there's a wikipedia article about my bedroom. So in the end you're what makes us happy.
  22. I love the tournament feature, that's really going to help with the tourny that's going to be organised.
