  1. You don't actually fight the pkes, you just need to avoid them.
  2. It would probably be a fairly easy --although long and annoying, thing to do. Considering that the vast majority of the monsters rely on melee combat only, that vast majority can easily be gotten from Monster Examine. However, there is an issue with monsters that use ranged or magic attacks (such as, say, Mithril Dragons). My thoughts on the matter is that the current system is good, but could have use a little adjustment. As mentioned before, some monsters have their max hit listed in the Notes section. My thoughts are that this is where is should go, and it should only go there for the stronger, more popular, etc. monsters. For example, have Zilyana's max listed, since it's pretty damn important. However, I don't think anyone is particularly interested in what something like a Ghoul can hit. However, on the monstesr where no max hit is listed, and perhaps even on the mosnters where a max hit IS listed, include a "difficulty" rating, which would be compared against the monster's combat level and against monsters for a similar combat level, although the rating would be abritrary. For example, the Handcannoners are pretty dangerous for a ~level 100 monster and therefore would be rated fairly highly. But Living Rock Strikers, which are level 120, are pathetically weak and therefore would recieve a low rating. Again, on an abitrary scale. The purpose of the max hit is to help the user assess the difficulty of the monster, correct?
  3. Great, thanks! Was it really that hard to resist the pkers? I don't think the powermining rates for coal at Skeleton Mine will be necessary, as you suggested. Thanks though.
  4. The best reward, based on street price, is the mint cake. By GE value, however, I think the Gnome Scarf is worth the most.
  5. Hp xp is equal to .33 of the xp you gain in either attack, strength, or ranged if you are not using controlled. If you die with Void, you can get them back if you return to your grave in time.
  6. Tree is better off at Brim.
  7. Yes, Helm is better because 15% + Fury ends up being better than 20%. The defense of the mask really is negligible unless you aren't praying. Since you are praying, you would just flick prayers on whenever running past dangerous monsters (read: only ones are the Mighty Banshees, nothing up to Ab specs are aggressive in the Tower), or just accept getting hit once, since you're praying anyway.
  8. Duelling ring to MA is extremely useful. In fact the Duelling Ring in general is one of the best items in the game. Look at where it can take you: Short run to Oo'glog (MA) If you utilize the Spirit Tree, you get an extremely quick teleport to the Grand Exchange, Ardy (Khazard Battlefield, fairly close), Gnome Stronghold, and a few other places. If you utilize the Gnome Glider, you can get to the Digsite (although Ancients has a tele there), Ape Atoll, White Wolf Mountain, and other places. If you utilize the Balloon Network (CW tele), you can go to the Sawmill, Crafting Guild/Falador, Grand Tree, Taverly, and other places quickly. If you utilize FoG tele, you got yourself a quick way to access the Wilderness. Couple this with the various Ancient teleports in the Wilderness and you practically own the place. Another extremely useful item is the Ring of Slaying. If your house is in Polly, it acts as a house teleport that costs ~30gp per tele (compared with the ~800gp-1k of a tablet). It also takes you to the Carpet network quickly, giving you access to places such as Sophanem, and leaves you on Sumona's doorstep. Relleka Slayer Caves is the closest teleport to a Fairy Ring, letting you access tons of teleports, many of which are useful. In essence, you really want to utilize 3 things: Teletabs, Transportation Networks (eg, Fairy Rings, Spirit Trees, etc.), and Jewelry.
  9. You mean Zuriel's, etc.? I seem to remember my friend telling me that it did, but I'm not entirely sure. I would say it probably does not, because as far as I know Barrows does not degrade in f2p combat.
  10. Thanks for telling me. I'm going to keep the link because it still has some useful information, and isn't totally obsolete. However I will replace it if I find anything better.
  11. Haha, well neither did I back then :) Thanks for your info!
  12. Actually, for most players, they're better off buying greys and just using them. I forget what the number was exactly, but I think reds were only better if you made ~2m or more per hour.
  13. Thank you everyone! Kaida, when you banked coal you got about 300, correct? Just checking.
  14. Alright, although I'd prefer xp rates. Make sure you find out Concentrated Coal's xp/ore though, since it's different from normal coal.
  15. If it's 2/10 don't bother, I used a MSB with rune arrows, but that was a long, long time ago. Nowadays, use a rune xbow with broad bolts/diamond bolts.
  16. I did it with Guthans + range and it was incredibly easy. I was also some 20-30 combat levels lower than you (although no summoning), so you should have no problems whatsoever.
  17. Kind of a confusing question. Is it technically still around? Yes. Is it exactly the same as before? No, graphical update as mentioned above. Is it just as functional? Yes. Is it just as useful? Yes. Is it just as economic? Kinda, since the price has changed. Is it still almost always the best melee weapon? Yes.
  18. Well a tree would actually help you, since the chinchompa cannot run off in that direction. It acts as a wall.
  19. Bedman has a great guide and I recommend looking at it. It's in the AoW. Greys are approx. 1/2 the cost of reds and give 3/4 of the xp. Economically, Greys are better, but not necessarily more efficient. However, I'd bet that most players will find greys more efficient. So in two words, use greys.
  20. Rune Scimitar / Best Bow / Elemental Staff Really a no-brainer, in f2p, the ideal weapons never change.
  21. Obstacles on one side as in one you can walk on, or one you can't? And you don't need to have the traps adjacent to the spawn. You can make it a bit more spaced out. 2 spaces away in any direction or combination of directions is enough.
  22. Use the "Surround" method of catching chins. All you need is one spawn, so choose one that is abandoned, and hunt away. The surround method is supposedly faster than normal hunting, and it's a lot easier since crowds are insignificant (since you only need 1 spawn anywhere in the world). Essentially, you surround the spawn of one chinchompa, and kill that chinchompa with range if it runs outside the lure of your traps. More often then not, the chinchompa will try a trap upon respawning, and if it ever leaves the "net" you have around its spawn, you simply kill it. It's pretty efficient, just make sure you're in a world that's decently full.
  23. Like all potions, the timer stops when you log out. However, I'm fairly certain your immunity evaporates if you log into a f2p world. Just beware.
  24. May I suggest an Obby Shield or Granite Shield, then? Even a Normal Spirit Shield or Blessed Spirit Shield will do.
