Dev Diary - Elite Tasks - 19-Nov-2009
Tbh, I'd rather they remove the Seal of Passage crap entirely after the elite diary. How about being able to cart to Tai Bwo Wannai from Brimhaven/Shilo? Or free banking at Tai Bwo Wannai runners? I would really like to see the ability to buy improved versions of white knight equipment/Proselyte armor. YES!

Charging air orbs.
Outside of the slow and profitable methods, you really can't get that much xp on such a small budget, sorry. You would need at least 15m to get it by practical means (ie, methods that don't involve an insane amount of clicking or 300+ hours).

Unbeatable Money maker????
Utilize your fantastic mining skill! Mining is a great skill for making money, and while you can't get anything REALLY amazing, you can sure make quite a lot. I recommend mining gold. You should have access to either Arzinian (but I recommend against this), Crafting Guild, or Brimhaven (but using the house teleport -> brimhaven) gold mines. This means it will be easiest for you simply get 40 crafting and mine at the crafting guild. Here's my WIP guide on mining. The entire money-making section is complete, however, so it should suit your purposes just fine. http://forum.tip.it/topic/248409-mining-a-complete-guide/ In addition, you should look at this fantastic guide archiving all the best moneymakers. Simply click the link then find the section that best suits you. http://runescoop.com/html/rs_TheRuneScoopDynamicMoneymakingGuideforRuneScape.htm

Maximum heal in one combat turn
Outside of certain eating combos, I believe it would be the unicorn's healing, EE's delayed healing, and a Sara Brew stacked together. If you really want to get technical, you could heal another 50hp in 1 round of combat by having the Overload potion's boost wear off.

Some questions abt bursting rock lob
^ Please be a little less trigger-happy when posting topics such as this. Refer to posts in these two threads for the best answer: http://forum.tip.it/topic/251425-rock-lobster-questions/ http://forum.tip.it/topic/251268-best-red-charm-droppers-with-these-stats/ They aren't very long, and you'd honestly get the exact same replies anyway.

Rock Lobster Questions
1. Are you bursting or barraging? Burst is 180 xp/burst, Barrage is 220-230 xp/burst. 2. Not really, any changes won't really be significant, just remember your ring of life. 3. Statistically, it is better. Although some people don't like the hassle of switching back and forth. 4. I normally bring 2.5-3k casts, lasting 5-6 hours. 5. I try to get 100 at least, but if you can change to cheaper gear without compromising TOO much, I say go for it. Although if you die, Ahrim's skirt should be the least of your worries.

Flesh crawlers are really the best option. If you are looking for a monster that can give you more xp, you will find none (except giant spiders, but your defense is far too low to use giant spiders effectively over flesh crawlers). If you have a deep burning hatred, try wilderness ice giants, on a BH world. Revs aren't really a problem anyway, but being on a BH world eliminates the risk entirely. In addition, wielding rune armor and turning auto-retaliate off makes it extremely hard to deal reasonable damage to you, since the aggressive ice giants/warriors will most likely attack the PKer, meaning he or she cannot attack you. If your aggressive period is over, you could then simply log. But generally speaking, once the PKer realizes you are above 25 wild or so, they will forget you as a target.

[Updated 9 Dec] Reviving Smithing : Divinite
Requirements to access the mines? Maybe, but then again we don't want TOO many people mining it. What would you consider more acceptable requirements?

Gathering Charms
Roughly 3.4k casts, I'm not sure how much that is in gp, but just multiply it by the cost/cast and you got your answer. However, in reality it is LESS than that because of all the extra charms you will get (greens/golds/blues). It is wise to use these charms as well. In reality you may need more like 2k-2.5k casts.

Gathering Charms
I'll point you to my posts in this thread: http://forum.tip.it/topic/251268-best-red-charm-droppers-with-these-stats/ In short, burst/barrage rock lobsters. It's always the best way to gather charms.

Building on the fire giants, you can cannon those as well as long as you are in the safespot. This isn't worth it however, since ice trolls are far better and profit.

TIF was no cooperating before so I could not post. Instead, I PM'd my reply to bedman, who responded. For the OP, here's what happened: Thanks for doing the effort of replying, and in detail, I appreciate it :-). 163 crimsons an hour seems a bit low for barraging, I remember I averaged 140+ an hour bursting, but yeah, you use more time luring so it can be possible. Your gold number seems also very high. I averaged around half the amount of crimsons in golds (so I would get around 82 an hour barraging). And I would personally value my crimsons to be 5 golds, at least xp wise. Golds are cheaper of course, but another negative side is that they take longer to make into pouches (for a certain amount of xp), but okay 4-5 is a reasonable conversion. Blues and green I agree. So yeah, you are right, a bigger chunk than I thought comes from other charms, would have thought it was only like 20-30 crimsons worth. Thanks for reminding me too it, might actually try some barraging if I finally decide to go for 99 summoning and get bored of fiends/slayer. Bit stupid I'm already 99 mage though. And about the iron titan, Yes it is that much better! It just totally owns, really. A big part of the ownage comes from the scrolls though, which I try to use as much as possible, but they also cost a lot. I spend almost 100k per hour just on these scrolls. I'm always screenying my inventory after a trip + the time, so I will hopefully have some good esimates soon, but I can tell you now I'm still making around 100k/h and get 130+ crimsons an hour. According to Cantristenon, even 150+ is possible.

Barrage vs Burst
I usually refer to barrage, since my own data for barrage is more accurate than burst. Although 160 crimsons per hour seems about right with magic pots + autocast update using burst.

80 Range
I can't think of any off the top of my head. You could try places such as Mutated Bloodvelds.

80 Range
There are 3 "good" places to cannon, and outside of slayer they should be the only places you take a cannon. 1) Ice Trolls, will profit, but will also give the least xp 2) Yaks, best xp, but most costly 3) Scarabites, a huge amount of charms that can potentially be better than waterfiends as far as overall summoning xp goes, cost is medium tbh because of the drops, but this is also the most dangerous

Yes, that's why the emphasis is on average. It's an average figure, which means it can only be applied if you go to barrows frequently, or will go to barrows frequently. Although you can substitute almost any money-making method without changing the overall result.
-
Barrage vs Burst
You get about 160-170 crimsons per hour at rock lobsters, but once you factor in the xp you get from all the other charms, you get over 220 or so crimsons worth of exp, even if some of them aren't actual "crimson" charms. Although the same applies to waterfiends, you don't get nearly as many. Barrage is roughly 3.1 casts/crim, while burst is 3.3-3.4 casts/crim. Although barrage also gives far more magic/hits xp.

Yes, it does.- Exciting Boss type monsters?
I suppose if you like metal dragons, you could do that as well.- best red charm droppers with these stats
True, but the xp is still there and ignoring it would be a bigger error than considering it, even if it becomes insignificant in the future. True, which is why I said "crimsons of xp". "Crimsons of xp" is not the same as "crimson charms". Using simple proportions, you can convert the gold/green/blue charms you get into crimson charms (not in-game, but at least in terms of xp you can). Doing this at rock lobsters, where you get tons of golds and green and a significant number of blues, you top 220 or so (I forgot my calculated number, so I'm estimating atm) crimsons of xp. Compare that to waterfiends, where you really don't get many golds and greens, and an insignificant number of blues. You may end up only getting 10-20 crimsons of xp extra, while you get 100 or so at rock lobsters.- best red charm droppers with these stats
There is a common misconception that rock lobsters are "expensive". This is not true. If you look past inital arrogance, you will find that rock lobsters are actually one of the cheapest methods to train. Not only do they give the best crimsons of xp per hour (easily double that of waterfiends when you look at crimsons of xp, and triple-5x as much as typical slayer). So consider that the one hour you spend at rock lobsters is worth AT LEAST 2 hours anywhere else. In addition, you get 60k hits xp/hr. This alone is worth 1 hour of work at a good PC clan or SW clan. Also, you get over 110k magic xp/hr, which is worth ANOTHER 1 hour of work or so using typical magic training methods such as alching or string amulet: give or take. So if you want to compare rock lobsters to waterfiends, you get 4 hours of work at rock lobsters in 1 hour at rock lobsters, while at waterfiends you only get 1.5 hours (once factoring combat xp). And in those 2.5 hours, you can EASILY make back the money you spent to burst/barrage. In fact, if you did barrows you could make back your money in roughly an hour if you average it all out. That leaves 1.5 hours of saved time. If you did even more barrows, you'd get about another 1.6m. This means that rock lobsters technically PROFIT over waterfiends. I used waterfiends as an example because they are second in best summoning xp. Cannon scarabites could probably get more, but they are costly and isn't worth comparing. If you were to compare anything other than waterfiends, you'd find that rock lobsters get better and better (comparively, of course). Take the mentioned methods of earth warriors or slayer. (Certainly, slayer is a great way to train and get charms, but it's no where near as good as rock lobsters.) So sure the face value of rock lobsters seems sky high, but it's a grave prejudice to only look at methods by their face value. When you really break it down and analyze it, rock lobsters aren't expensive at all.- best red charm droppers with these stats
1 more magic level, then burst rock lobsters. This is almost always the best plan.- Mining Vs. Woodcutting
Woodcutting yews at 150k per hour is an extreme overstatement. Anything over 80-90k is generous. Compare to to mining gold at the crafting guild, which easier is over 100k per hour at respectable mining levels. Only reason why WC is more popular is because it's easier. But whenever something is easy, it's not efficient.- Pokemon Thread
