    Arcanists!

F2P Arcanists is shallower than P2P, though. I mean, there's really no viable defensive strategy in F2P, for example. P2P can require less skill if you use spells like Flight, Brine Bolt, and Aura of Decay that let you get sloppy, but some spells are pretty difficult. I mean, the whole ice book is basically a harder-to-aim version of the fire book, for example, and spells like Mega Boulder really reward skill. Defensively, there's a lot you can do. You and trap, tower, teleport, glyph, or gain initiative. The trouble is that none of those are good. The opponent can negate any of those defenses in one turn of attacking, and then you're left right back where you started. You tower, I napalm, your tower dies. You glyph, I ignore the glyphs and attack right through them. You gate, I make a portal to wherever you gated. And gaining initiative? How are you going to do that if you aren't on the offensive? The fact of the matter is that in f2p, the best defense really is a good offense. In a flat plain, sure none of those defenses are good. But thankfully, they aren't. It's hard to describe, but you actually do have a lot of defensive options if you use the terrain. And even if you didn't, that would means you're most likely out in the open, where you could flash your opponent offstage and gain initiative.
  2. No, I brought 7 or so with me.
  3. That's what I did. I talked to her normally. Nothing.
  4. Alright, so I've completed Within the Light a while ago and I thought, "why not redirect a few crystals to the Temple of Light?" So I brought a few of my uncharged crystals to Eluned. And for some strange reason, she does not offer to redirect my crystal's teleport to any other location. I've tried both empty and (3) crystals. Do I need something in my inventory for this to work? Do I need to talk to someone before I can do so? In short, how do I make this thing work?
  5. Well, yeah. There it is. Got it earlier today but forgot to add an entry. This train will end in less than 2 weeks :)
  6. A few reasons: 1) They take up more filespace on my computer, or the computer of whoever is contributing the picture 2) They take longer to load, which is really annoying when editting the guide or for anyone with slow connections 3) I feel they have more "noise" than SD pictures and SD pics tend to be more clear 4) If you show something in HD, some SD users may not recognize it, but if you show something in SD, HD users will most likely recognize. 5) I typically play on SD
  7. It's Nulodian. In the Dwarf Camp, it's in the house on the left (West) side. He's the only Dwarf in said house.
  8. The system is fine, and changing it will not make any real improvements. First of all, addressing non-tradeables, since Jagex has no way of determining the market value of these items, it's only fair they aren't protected. In my opinion, they deserve to be at the bottom of the ladder, regardless of how difficult they were to get. It's simply not practical. Secondly, some items such as Barrows will see no net change in this system. This is common sense, you will always lose the item that is really worth the "most" in terms of practical price and rarity. Lastly, item changes are way too volatile. It would simply be too confusing and disrupting. Imagine knowing that your whip will protect over your fury, then when the whip crashes in price, this is no longer true. Do you really want to keep checking the prices of every single one of your items every single time you go to do something remotely dangerous? Honestly, you should know the risks of what you are doing. It really shouldn't matter if a Rune platebody is protected over an Armadyl platebody, because the mere fact that you brought the Armadyl platebody to GWD means that you were prepared to lose it, or at least that's what it SHOULD mean. Who cares if you lost your SS but not your Onyx Bracelet? You brought both to PvP, you should be prepared to lose both and everything else. It may be harsh, but it is logical and fair. You go someplace dangerous, you shouldn't expect safeguards or mercy.
  9. Standard run (of 7-8 minutes) gets 5 trees, 5 fruit trees, and 1 calquat. Easy to figure out from there, but with maples/palms it something like 80-90k. You bring up a good point, I'm going to have to look deeper into that.

  11. I've noticed a similar pattern, plus Gnome Stronghold tends to be the first. But I don't think the information is accurate or supportable enough to be in the guide.
  12. Ok, you know how Shoddy tells you the damage dealt by percentage? Strict-damage clause prevents that number from going above 100%. So if a Suicune had 33% health, it would be 33% loss as opposed to 150%, or something. This prevents the other player from deducing information about the EV spread of Suicune. If you did 150% damage, you would know that Suicune has below-average defense, which is valuable information you can pass on to someone else. However, if Shoddy only told you that it lost 33%, you couldn't deduce that.
  13. Item clause not so much as Species clause. Item clause tends to be more annoying (banning repeated uses of Leftovers, which is extremely common), but species is almost necessary. EDIT: Strict Damage clause should also be used so some entrants cannot leak information to others.
  14. No species clause? There really should be that one.
  15. Imo, if it's even considered suspect, it shouldn't be allowed in OU, but that's just me. Anyone up for a few rounds now?
  16. I would do it! Edit: Species clause says you can't have two of the same Pokemon on the same team, which is fair imo (Battle Towers in the game have this rule).
  17. Does "sorta overpowered" mean "stronger than current weapons"? If so, then I've done that. The weapons are, generally speaking, better than current weapons. If you mean to make them even STRONGER, you will need to be more specific.
  18. One of three thoeries: -The time is a minimum, and disease isn't the only factor that that influences growth time -Disease has a small chance of curing by itself -It is a bug Based on person experience, I feel that it is best to grow fruit trees in 20-24 hours if you do not use supercompost. This almost always ensures growth (plus you can potentially harvest a calquat as well). Frogact: Will add later, thanks!

    Smash Club.

Or create more uses for coins (such as buying bonus stages, characters, etc) and let players trade trophies to each other, for both trophies or coins.
  20. Let me point you to my AoW farming guide for more specific help. Link in sig. Otherwise, simply farm the best tree, fruit tree, and allotment you can. Then farm the best profitable herb you can.
  21. Remember that the Ancients combo is, as you said, not a special attack. So unless you start doing it before combat, you still need to take 2 rounds of combat to use it. This means that the Ancients combo isn't so much of as KO tool (as a finishing blow), but as a PJing tool or a opening hit.
  22. Yes, I would consider that a bug. Unless of course jagex is attempting to advertise members on the free worlds. It is a bug, since Jagex is intent on removing all memeber's references on free worlds.
