Feb 9 2009: The Future of Runescape
Overall, I think Jagex has a decent new CEO. Though I don't believe the guy when he says having fun is more important than profit, for Jagex. I think he just wants to keep the players happy, since it'll bring in more cash. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just how companies work. I dislike how they plan to stop the BTS. I always enjoyed that. Allthough DD's will compensate for that... but I'd prefer BTS. Developing F2P is very nice of Jagex. F2P already offers more than enough to show people what Runescape is. Very unusual to improve the free version even more. But they definately deserve kudos for that. The fact that they'll be more open with communication, the ingame participation and events and stop aiming at kids content is simply great. It's my greatest annoyance with Jagex. I'm curious how the Jagex' relationship with their players will develop.

Slayer Sucks
NPC Contact. Still not worth going all the way to Lunar Isle to change spellbooks, then going back to change back when you go train something else. As for Ancinets, well... its not as much of a struggle to get there =0 YOU might think it's not worth it. I disagree. If you don't find it worthwile to get a task, you're free to not train slayer. Doesn't mean it is not worth it.

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
very possible. You don't have to be 5 years old to do something like that. You base that on what?

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
You mean.. that he'd leave after Andrew put pressure on him.. he would have said that he's not going to be told what to do and just leave? You think those people are 5 year olds?

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
Having a falling out and leaving is a lot more plausible of an idea than yours. It happens a lot in business. Yes, but that's not what he said, if you would have read.

farming help
I think usually 10 is a bit overdone. 6,5 is the average. And that correlates perfectly with the 40k herbs I've farmed.

charm exchange?
No. Everyone would trade in everything for blues, which made making pouches (thus getting xp) far too easy. Summoning gives enough xp already.

Potions in F2P....what the hell....
Yep, just wait for the potion to wear of and then log out if it's that much of a hassle. Point is, it doesn't make sense. Therefore it should be changed. Sure, it'll probably not be that much of a hassle.. but it's a small nuisance for no good reason.

Slayer..
It's an average which is 100% correct. Because average = average. Though, what you're aiming at, is that slayer xp has a relatively high variance. Therefore numbers may vary. And I do think giving an average for slayer is good. It gives you an idea about how you'll do in the long term.

I luv to mine but...
Yes, speed differences between lvl 70 and lvl 99 are too small. Ofcourse, based on chance, anyone can outmine you. But it just happens too often. My feeling is that when I compete with a ~70 miner, it's pretty much 60/40. Just not enough imo. You don't have to train mining just for the mining speed...

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
Well yeah, I could speculate aswell, stating he'd be captured by evil fairies. Doesn't contribute anything. Just because something's not clear doesn't give a wildcard to just spray all sorts of crap in the air.

Yes, Iddison didn't want to listen to his boss, so quit. What a [bleep] [developmentally delayed]. My post is very possible... But it's based purely on your fantasy. Useless post.

Obama - push digital transition 4 months.
Why would you need a new tv for digital tv? Here you can just get digital with whatever tv you have. You only need a box to catch the digital signal and send it to your tv for you. At most providers, this box is free. So nothing stands in the way to get digital tv. But that's Holland.

I am worried about infections
We call that child abuse here. As for the topicstarter; I'd call the police and report domestic violence, but that's just me.

How fast can you heal with a Unicorn Stallion?
You need the scrolls to heal.

Runescape HD
You could start with reading the requirements for Runescape HD, and comparing them with your specs.

Well that out of the way
3/10 Too many people have it to rate it any higher.

Natural Selection
There is no nature "vs" nurture. There is only nature AND nurture. It's not either one, it's both. @above: It's not only genetics that makes characteristics "inheritable". Brave people (can you define that type of people? Don't think so, but lets just assume) will probably raise their kids with trying to get them to acquire a brave personality. That's an important factor in the inheritability. Or better: how character traits are passed on from parent to child. Obviously it's based on nothing, I'm not pretending that I fully understand genetics. This is just my ramblings, and my curiosity as to what others would think of it. Ok, I probably misinterpreted you.

Dragon egg drop rate
Ok, thanks for the help guys.

Dragon egg drop rate
Uhh, ok.. great to hear that.

Dragon egg drop rate
So, I just got 99 summoning today. That means its time to hunt for a dragon egg. What I'd like to know is the approximate drop rate of the dragon eggs. I've killed over 50 now, to no avail. It's probably hard to determine the exact drop rate, since there are not a lot of 99 summoners out there, and everyone probably gets just one egg. But perhaps someone has experience with this?

Natural Selection
I know, but it is possible that character traits are actually hereditary. Also, I'm not asking about natural selection as a whole, as it's quite obvious that war isn't the only thing that effects it. But in this case it's the most prominent factor. Yes character traits can be hereditary. Though there are a LOT of genetic factors involved, and a LOT of external factors. Therefore there is nothing significant to say about the matter. Scientists ain't that far yet (and I can tell). Also, war isn't the most prominent factor either. "Fitness" isn't influenced that much by an occasional war. There is much to say about genetics, fitness and survival of the fittest.. but your statement is based on absolutely nothing. You can't make this statement based on what we know about evolution. Exactly.

Duo - #12 & 13 - 99 Slayer & Summoning
Great combo. Nice timing. Two great 99's at the same time is a rare sight. I only got 99 summoning today :P What are your next goals?
-
Natural Selection
That's not how genetics work. And "going off to war" isn't QUITE the only thing that affects natural selection. There are about a gazillion factors more.
