  1. Special situations call for special actions taken. Therefore a rollback isn't such a weird idea. Not that I'd want a rollback though. It damages all the players who weren't affected, so it does more harm than good. And yes, ban them.
  2. Indeed. They would have rolled back earlier if they wanted to do it.
  3. Most of my friends think Runescape is for 12-14 year old kids. So they laugh at me. I'll just shrug and laugh with them.
  4. Point taken. I think you're right.
  5. The bug has nothing to do with lag. I suggest trying to ping the Runescape server you mostly play on.
  6. I'm looking to buy a few phats aswell. Though with the crash course they're on, I prefer to wait a little longer. Maybe they'll be down 10m next month... Personally, I'm not in a hurry to get one. I'll just leave the cash in my bank.
  7. Yeah I did, how about you? How is it not server side? Sure it's user-input, but the actual bug itself is server side. Jagex messed something up in the handling of the µ. I think you lost me there.
  8. The penguin case proves that financial gain is not their top priority when something like this happens. Not exactly, what, 150 accounts were banned? Okay. That's roughly 750. Hundreds of people did this glitch, a roll back and some temporary bans would be ALOT wiser. So because of something a few hundred people did, all Runescape players should suffer from a rollback? Banning them is much more fair for the people that didn't abuse the bug. Jagex did the right thing. Sad part in this case is that people lost stuff. But, when Jagex does a rollback, a lot, LOT more people will lose stuff that they have gained while playing at the same time the bug abuse was happening. So, no rollback and perm bans of the abusers causes the least damage, and makes sure that the bug abusing scum gets what they deserve. Jagex has a lot more tools to identify people that abused the bug. Especially when a game crashes. Stuff gets logged you know, Jagex will find them, for sure. Exactly. A simple database query will do the job just fine. I'm counting on bans in the morning.
  9. This is a server side bug. That means, the problem lies with Jagex, so whatever browser you're using isn't relevant. It's not a glitch in Java by the way. Java is the programming language in which Runescape is built. The problem lies within how Jagex applied the code. Obviously they made a silly mistake somewhere, making a certain character able to crash the game.
  10. Uhm, this is bug abuse. Not some sort of predetermined risk. Abuse should be punished. I don't understand how you can justify scum that deliberately abuse holes in the game which damages other players. Losing stuff is part of the game, in PvP, but NOT like this.
  11. It should be an easy fix... A certain character that makes the game crash sounds quite basic, and we didn't have it before todays updates. Due to the impact of the bug, a fix should be around very soon. I think they're getting to the bottom of this right now, making sure it gets fixed properly. I mean, bugs like these have a serious impact, and possibly cost them a lot of paying members.
  12. I'm pretty sure Jagex will take your post into consideration when they think of possible solutions.
  13. Well, yeah. These bugs are quite clumsy, and shouldn't have happened. Obviously, something, somewhere went terribly wrong. We never* had these bugs before. It just appeared after today's updates, if I'm correct. It's quite possible that someone will get sacked because of this. But that's pure speculation. I just hope it isn't as clumsy as I think it is. *Not that I know of. RSC had some nasty bugs, but since the game matured, nothing like this ever happened.
  14. The penguin case proves that financial gain is not their top priority when something like this happens.
  15. I do wonder, how widespread is it? Not a lot of people know about the bug (relatively speaking), and even less people actually abuse the bug. Also, it's in a short time span, probably. Would that justify a rollback, knowing you hit hundreds of thousands with that, while now, how sad it may be, relatively small damage has been done?
  16. By saying that, I wonder how many people are going to do it right now :k Reverse-psychology FTL  I call that idiocy. But that's their problem, not mine.
  17. They should be rolled back, yes. And, that .gif was making the rounds on IRC. Ugh, people who are reading this thread most likely already know "the code". (Response to someone saying those pictures should be removed.) I do believe BH/PVP should be rolled back. Normal gameplay, shouldn't. Accounts that did the bug not be permanently banned, or IP banned but just warned. People that did the bug in a safe area, including the Grand Exchange on a safe world should be just warned, also. Warned? For deliberately abusing a bug which basically lets you steal other people's stuff? You knowingly (else you wouldn't type in the code) abuse this bug for personal gain over the backs of other players. Can it be any more abusive? Ban them, hard, permanently, no appeal.
  18. He could have easily tried it on himself in his clan chat. No reason to assume he took out a lot of people with him. :? Still it's making use of a bug. I wouldn't punish it.. but Jagex will have a lot to investigate, and it's simply best to not get involved. I'd say don't try, stay out of it.
  19. Why, alot of people have lost alot of money.. Tough luck, life goes on... Alot of people have earned alot of money... Yes, and they are bug abusers, and should (and will) be banned. There are other ways to earn money than abusing the bug. Like a Hilt drop. I just presumed he meant the people who benefited from this bug. I'm fairly sure they have. And I'm totally sure.

  22. I'm just wondering.. how on earth is this possible? Oh, and it's very likely that stuff like this gets logged so quite a few people will probably find themselves banned in the morning. Just hope they won't rollback any non-PVP servers. Though I doubt there's the need for a rollback in non-PVP.
  23. Ignorance is bliss huh?
  24. I don't read dialogues BECAUSE I don't like to do quests. Don't mix up causality here.
  25. Wut, quests have dialogues? No, seriously.. I just skip through them with the quest guide. I much more like rewards compared to actually doing quests.
